Oof, sorry Dusty, took it from the first post and assumed it was the most recent.

The final nuclear plant has been completed, removing coal from italian skies all over the country. A new botanical plant has been discovered in the waters surrounding south-east Italy, after a year or so of tinkering, our scientists have altered it's genetic to make it extremely easy to grow and highly nutricious. There have been a few.. side effects.. but nothing we don't expect to be removed soon. Talks with Austria have increased in pace as both nations note the need for increased security with the colonial powers of Europe being so colonial. The merger of the two countries is being met with respect and understanding, and there have been no major protests between the powers. Additional talks are being Czech Republic, urging them to consider merging into the Italian state for their own safety. The Czechs are further away from the Austrians, and the deal is strained. No progress seen this year.. The Italian army is restless. It does not want to fight in Poland, the weather hardly suits italians. Instead, with the new technology being developed by EGMM, an invasion force numbering 100,000 is set to land in Tunisia by March. The plan is to subjugate the country, through any means necessary, and slowly introduce western ideals and living conditions. Updated map; [hide][/hide]

Okay, mate, that's bigger than your entire one year budget, and as I said - they're privately owned by a german company.
-
Er, no, 1) It's not state controlled. 2) That'd be ludicrous! Furthermore, they're owned by AUDI, who are German!
-
I do.

Retech. No.

>10% growth rate, sustained, for 7 years. This is fair and balanced. This is logical. This is totally believable. Your entire economy almost doubling. Just saying.
-
I thought we kinda pointed out to you Retech that there's no way your GDP is 12 trillion?

>5 year rule?

The first two nuclear power plants have been completed, near Rome and Naples. The cheap, 'clean' energy is being well received by the Italian public, and the government is being praised for their initiative. The Italian military has been revamped successfully, and propaganda to reassure the italian citizens of their safety and the pride they should have in their armed forces is being issued. Public morale is at an all time high. EGM is enjoying it's newfound existence, and discoveries on botanical sea dwellings have rapidly occured thanks to the youth schemes set up in 2014. More tests are occuring on natural life forms, however Italy recognizes the need for military security. As a result, a new arm of the organisation - EGMM is being created. It's primary aims are on mechanical equipment, with a main focus on creating support for the infantry.

It's not annexed yet. I'm fairly sure you can take it.

>Average wages of UK according to your picture: 40-45k. Seems legit, guys!

No, I mean, people have listed their gold reserves, then undernearth a value of USD. What does that value represent?
-
What is the "US Dollars" stat in the "current countries tab" thingy? How much their gold is worth?
-
I see, so what exchange rates are we using for all the variou currencies? Happily surprised to see that Italy has the 4th highest gold reserves in the world (2009).
-
I don't understand what all those numbers mean, the gold, krone etc. 1 year into talks with Austria and so far there is only positivity between the two states.
-
Probably about 20 jets a year and 12 submarines every other year.. These things take time to build. I could be off, though.
-
I don't think beautiful Italy wants ugly Russian cars either, thanks.

Italy announces talks with Austria, aimed at annexing the state. The benefits of such a merger would of course be mutual, and all current reports from the talks indicate there will be no trouble. At home, the military is being revamped. Henceforth, the entry requirements will be higher and the training regimes tougher. The current size of the italian army stands at 300,000 troops, this size will hopefully be maintained but is unlikely to be increased. After the first nuclear power plant was completed last year, the general mindset of the italian people has gone from cautious to positive, and three more plants are scheduled to be completed by 2017. A new scientific organisation is going to be formed, owned by the government, intended to be the centre of Italian research and enlightenment. It will be called Entanglement, and referred to as EGM. While Italy understands that at first progress will be slow, the government are patient that results will inevitably come quicker and quicker as time passes. The people of Italy have grown tired of the old way of life, and the rough youth of today yearn for more freedom in their lives. To this end, the government is sponsoring a oceanic scheme where young italians, aged 18-25, can spend 6 months at sea, working for either the military or for EGM. There will also be a scheme for construction of new canals winding through italy, intended to ease transportation of goods both immediately and for the future. tl;dr annexing austria, revamping military, building nuclear power plants, setting up science organisation, offering youth schemes to benefit the country

Can I take Italy, please?
-
I'll do some quick research on some other potential countries, then make my decision hopefully later today. I hope you're going to do something different to your plan last time, Doom :P
-
Bleh. I was going to ask to be Argentina.

Still using IRC? If so, what's the channel?
-
Yeah, I'm not interested in spaceland. I'm out.

What on earth has this got to do with my question? Then why did the attack have a +490% modifer for the outcome infavour of Retech? Why would you take what Sere says over what I've said? Even so, I'm fairly sure we stated, consistently, numerous times, that there were 15 million troops stationed in Japan
