  1. clan update = april fools
  2. Yes, godforbid I gave a little background/introduction...
  3. You guys are pretty sad if you believe that... I have had NO contact with Rach about any of these threads... More over, if Tip.it staff (which I am not) think that this thread should be closed, it would've been already... Das replied in this thread, twice... And I am pretty sure he doesn't hold me in any kind of favor... Really... Fail on the both of you...
  4. This thread is still open because SOME people actually understand why its open and respond in it accordingly :) Woox16 quit for a number of reasons (which he explains in the blatently obvious to spot video)... Some of which are personal, but others are reasons that Jagex is directly responsible for... THOSE reasons (and the possible snowball effect of people quitting over an update) are why this thread is still open, regardless of 90% of you saying something along the lines of "Who's woox and dont bother explaining cuz I dont care"...
  5. Which says a helluva lot about the people replying here... Thank you for clarifying that :)
  6. [spoiler=Quoting SirIzenhime] it is not a big deal that he is quitting. hardly an END OF AN ERA I'll say it again for the morons on this thread that apparently do not get figures of speech and other nuances in the english language... The "probably..." bit in the title of this thread meands that the statement mate is to be taken with quite a grain of salt... Sarcastic even... I know it is not the end of an era, nor do I doubt runescape will suffer as over time new people replace older players and eventually everyone will have forgotten how good runescape used to be in the good old days... Arguably... I also asked a question at the start of the thread, which is one I've been trying to get answered for a while now... Fortunately, as GaVaTi pointed out rather succinctly, its easy to filter out the responses that are pretty much useless to this topic... You created a thread with a title having NOTHING to do with the question you wanted "discussed" When you read your first post, all we see is stuff about this MHer and his video, you have to actually scroll down to see the small...1 line sentence/question...that is supposed to be your "topic". What the hell did you expect people to think you were on about? My opinion on Woox. He was cool, I know about him, watched a few of his videos, thought that they were cool. I wasn't subscribed to him, and overall didn't even care. Him quitting means very little. As for your question you want answered. When they stop adding content to the point were I get bored. well....that was a great discussion, wasn't it? Nothing? Did you even watch the interview? And one line? 5 lines explain who woox is, another 3 as well as the vid gear towards the question asked... Stop lying...

  8. Noone cares about W00x16 quitting, unless you know what he did... What you should care about though; is WHY he quit...
  9. @Malzra & Bedman: So where do we pinpoint when this crappy started to emerge? When Geoff Iddison or Mark gerhard starte dto (co-)run the game with Andrew and Paul? Certainly Andrew (and Paul?) leaving the board of directors just before the wilderness/freetrade announcement seemed to be a catalyst... @Dirk & others: the "probably..." bit was actually put there to make the whole thing to be taken with a grain of salt...
  10. I am just another RuneScaper too, yet he succeeded to do things where MANY others have failed...
  11. If you do not know who Woox16 is, shame on you. (skip this if you do know) He is RuneScape's most famous and probably bestest ever PvM-er, having been the first to solo Corp without any bugs, and the first to duo Nex... He's made many videos on Youtube of his achievements, many of which are on equal footing with those of other famous players... His announcement to quit could very well be the first bouncy pebble that causes an avalanche... He has given an interview in which he explains his reasons (see below) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9JvhkqRGmE&hd=1 Now for the question to answer: When will Jagex cross the line for you? PS: Just to show how defenseless Jagex has become, the ad in the vid that Youtube put there is one to buy and sell RS gold... DO NOT CLICK IT!!!
  12. If it is technically possible to "come back to non-cheat server" with the stats you left off with, then yeah, add that feature in too...
  13. Oh I'd consider that going postal on us...
  14. So this begs the question... What WOULD it take for Jagex to go postal on us these days? Encouraging people to cancel their subscriptions with a list of reasons that are taken well out of context/proportion... Would that do it? Btw, pleased to see Jagex aproving the articles :D
  15. The way RS is being run these days, more and more nest-kicking articles will appear over time... It'll be interesting to see if and/or when the Tip.it staff will actually step in and prevent the publishing of it...
  16. That was almost exactly my train of thought that lead me to write the article... Jagex' current failing to stop botting means that they are either incompetent, unwilling, or both... If they are incompetent, then they should try this idea... If they are unwilling, then botting should not be against the rules... If they are both, then what's all the fuss about?
  17. ^ Which brings me all the way back to the point I made in my article... A solution has to come from outside of RS...
  18. The difference with your solution and mine is: Mine addresses the root core of the problem to a certain extent... While I would gladly see the occasional bot breaking update to replenish the population on cheat servers, on its own it is not a satisfactory solution...
  19. Interesting? Disturbing is more like it... Only JUST AFTER the Gowers resigned, they started the poll to bring back the wild... inb4conspiracytheories....
  20. "The linchpin is stern enforcement on Jagex' part when it comes to meting out punishment. I do not have faith in this company handing out stern punishments when it would have a negative impact on the bottom line. " This faith has also dropped to zero for me, especially with the recent bot-apologetic measures taken... This is exactly why I refuse to believe that Jagex will put any more staff on dealing with cheaters without there being a permanent solution... This is ALSO why I think Green's suggestion will not work for Jagex...
  21. I didn't mean to call it stupid (if I even used those words, lol)... But whatever you program into RuneScape will ulimately be overcome by the programmers of the bots... This is what I said in my article as well as my post... So is it then a good idea to keep on suggesting changed to the game itself? No... It's, for a lack of a better word, stupid :D Therefor, I think you are massivly over-reacting, so feel free to call my articles stupid in the future, even when everyone else isn't...
  22. It's funny how I stated in my very article that in-game solutions will never work on a permanent basis, and then several people come up with in-game solutions :D In this instance as it was also with the Wildy Wall, all the programmer needs to adjust is a few parameters... Would you rather buy your gold from a shadey, possibly creditcard info thieving company that thrives on breaking the rules, or from Jagex themselves... And full servers can't possibly be a valid argument... Just dedicate more to the cheaters, and voila... Gold farmers will need people that buy it from them; see above for the rest of my counterpoint... It'll be rough at first, but (and I dare to predict this) once there is a sizable cheaters population, IT will become the "main" runescape... Keep in mind that Jagex would NEVER dare call the idea I had, if implemented, a cheat server... We all know it would be, but Jagex will probably come up with something like "members+" or something... I do sincerely hope it IS my last time writing a Times article about it though :) With this article I've tried also to get people off of the idea that there should be an in-game fix to the botting problem... This thread is evidence that I have failed... But I do wonder: Why is quarantaining cheaters and removing any influence on the "real" game a bad thing? Yeah I've been trying to get him to sign on more permanently... :P
  23. Quite the doomsaying articles this week
  24. Almost worth writing an article about, but I'm complaining enough about jagex' inability to act like proper enforcers of the rules in tomorrow's issue already <_<
  25. So you'll take next week's featured article slot, then? No he doesn't... I am... And it'll be my last ever article about bots and RWT (and with good reason)...
