  1. *scribble-scribble* Moar st00f to sign :D Anywho, see you all there... Who's coming to the night-before party btw?
  2. Despite the seemingly lack of discussion here, I can guesstimate/report (based off of the number of people I and my clanmates have seen, while we were up in the Citadel) that some 40-50 people have had their curiosity satisfied by visiting our Citadel :)
  3. Best I can tell, Tier 2 Tree gives 20% more timber per root cut... When you have 1k done again, recharging your ring there will also grant more XP than if you did it at Tier 1...
  4. @Nifflin: I mentioned a Bank (as well as a G.E. branch) to be added as one of the very most obvious suggestions for things to put in a Citadel... However I do like the idea of being able to form Dungeoneering parties and dive into the depths of Daemonheim right there and then in your Citadel, but it might be a technical impossibility... Perhaps we could combine our ideas, and basicly you'd Dungeoneer on your instanced world ("teleporting" from the Daemonheim portal while being in a party straight to the Base-chamber of a Dungeon)... Exiting a Dungeon would transfer you to Daemonheim (or Clan Camp if this isn't possible) to whatever world you left for your Citadel in the first place... PS: thanks for thinking along :) you're the first to properly respond to my article :)
  5. Ok, as promised, I will now detail some of my suggestions for you here :) Please note that none of this actually exists yet in the Citadels The Altar: We all know of the ability to switch to and from Lunar spells at the astral altar, to and from Curses at Azzanadra's communication portal, and to and from Ancient Magiks at the pyramid in the desert. But how about the aility to have ONE (yes, just one) of these moved to the Citadel? Right now in Falador's castle is a normal prayer altar to recharge at, but with the Ancient Hymnal and Falador Shield 4 you can turn it into an altar where you can switch to and from Curses. A similar thing could be made available to us. At one of the higher tiers (5 or higher) a normal prayer altar would be made available to us somewhere in the Citadel or Keep itself. But with similar requirements to change the altar in Falador, so could we have the ability to modify the use of this citadel altar to our needs. Cooking Facilities: A simple range would be enough for most clannies to decide to do their cooking in the Citadel, but above the lower tiers, facilities such as a wheat field with a mill next to it could be implemented, or maybe even a field of Cows (including dairy) with a churn next to it. At one of the higher tiers a Brewing Vat to brew beers in just like the ones found in Port Phasmatys and Keldagrim could be added. Armor Repair: Not unlike the Armor repair stand in your POH, this one being a little bit more advanced. Not only would you be able to fix Barrows, Torva, Pernix and Virtus armor at Bob's prices, but you'd also be able to repair your Chaotics and Gravite equipment for the same price as at the rewards trader at Daemonheim. Farming: For our greenfingered friends, a set of allotment farming patches with a flower patch would not be supplemented by a herb patch (this would create mayhem), but by a specialty patch. Perhaps somewhere that allows you to farm Grapes? Agility/Hunting minigame: You've seen those floating islands that are somewhat 'detached' from the main Citadel Island. Add a few more and allow for hopping between them (requiring an Agility level, and providing small bits of Agility xp), all while you are chasing some npc. As long as we're recycling content to make it more useful, how about these NPC's being Charm Sprites that you can catch with your bare hands? Teleports: While I believe it is a physical/technical impossibility to teleport from your Citadel to anywhere on the surface, it does seem to work for the portal that brings you back and forth. If it is however possible to change destination locations and/or worlds, I would like to suggest portals to the Gamer's Grotto, Daemonheim and Edgeville :) Vexillum: Lastly, if it isn't too much trouble, a permanent Vexillum somewhere close to the Portal (perhaps on the bridge leading towards the rest of the Island), so people can check out your clan in-game regardless whether someone is at home or not, seems a bit of a no-brainer to me ;) Thats all of them for now, I might add more later on :)
  6. Didn't I just write a whole article on those? :P
  7. ^ Didn't expect anything else... But all my questions have been answered except one: Why oh why should I pout my clan through the grind, if the citadel itself is specifically mentioned to "not be used to stay up there all the time"?
  8. Been wondering that myself... Making 1k charcoal requires 1k timber... This means timber has to be available of course, but if I chop 500 timber and make 500 charcoal out of it, will I have contributed 500, or 1k resources? I'm hoping to know the answer before my article on this is due :D [EDIT] If you're not in a clan, but would like to check out what these things are, feel free to pop in the Tal Shiar citadel... We've got an open door policy on this anyways :)
  9. Seperate post, because Croc's article is a different subject; You're hitting several nails on the head there, and I almost completely agree... The masses have no clue what they want, and any old election result can tell you that, and this is not even counting the group of people that ALWAYS want to stick it to the man... But I don't think Jagex had the player's best interest in mind when they started this whole referendum shenanigans... It has been quite obvious that since the Gowers resigned their position in late november 2010 (and some outsiders took over), everything has been geared towards getting more members... A simple comparisson of subscribers pre- and post- the 2008 updates (free trade and wildy being abused to the point that it was on the verge of bankrupting Jagex), would've told you that there were more people subscribing when those updates were not yet in place... Regardless of the consequences, these updates would eventually be reversed, and with much fanfare the choice was left to the players... This couldn't be more clear with collecting the signatures of players, without them needing a password, or an option to vote no... The sheer difference in number of yes voters compared to aproving signatures showed this... A quick proper poll was put together to mask this mistake (you gotta wonder why they didn't use the regular polling station on the main RS site), and well, the rest is history... Back to your main point though... That balance of what to listen to, and what not to is an affliction that even the leaders of countries or even groups of countries struggle with... So I can't blame Jagex for ignoring the masses in the future, since they are not a democracy and can't be voted out of office... But, even though not everyone in his or a similar position does, Croc understands that as a Times writer, he has the spotlight on occasion. And it is as such our duty to provide the good suggestions the platform it deserves... The same goes for constructive criticism... It is up to Jagex to still keep an ear to the ground, even if it chooses to be deaf some of the time...
  10. I was most interested in this question: This probably means you got to have everything upgraded before you can upgrade to the next tier (exactly the same as the degrading process, if I read that correctly), which would mean that it's going to take at least 14 weeks to get a Tier 7 citadel... I kind of like where this is going, cuz it would mean double the dedication to making a big Tier-ed city, giving even smaller clans more time to grow to the neccisary size :) But other than that, few questions I had as a Clan leader were not answered... Once the Citadels are released, however, I will have the answers I need for an article of my own about this :ohnoes: I'm excited, but these answers give me no comfort
  11. The 2nd isn't Keldagrim?
  12. The lack of any charachters that lived back then mentioning Guthix is hardly evidence, I know... Wouldn't it make sense for at least someone to have mentioned him? I mean even Saradomin, while encouraging you to drop the subject, still acknowldges Zaros...
  13. My point is: she (Ash) would not have been taught Guthixian ways, because she was taught by Sliske, a Zarosian Mahjarrat... Given what we know of Sliske (someone who you shouldn't make deals with, and has unusual power over shadow), there is no reason at all to asume that Sliske would've gone around teaching Guthixian ways to Saradomin priests... Wrong on several occasions: Ashuelot Reis had up to the point that she met Sliske/Guthixian priest always been a priest of Saradomin. She was taught by Sliske a ritual that was (as Ash believed) to awaken Guthix, but little did she know and poof, Nex was awake (something that would be intended by Sliske) I'll agree with you that the Gods and Mahjarrat may have known about one another, but your Chronology is wrong... The Godwars started WHEN Zaros was defeated, and Zamorak took over... I begin to wonder if you even know roughly when Nex was imprisoned the 2nd time... The first time was right around the time that Zaros was defeated, and Nex with an army and a couple of Mahjarrat (but not Azzanadra, as he was in Senntisten trying to contact Zaros again) was attempting to secure the Ritual Site in order to get the upper hand... The 2nd time was years later. Armadyl, then on the verge of defeat, had in a hail mary pass forged the Godsword in an attempt to kill Zamorak and while transporting these through the mountains got ambushed by a bunch of demons... They fled into the warded temple that Saradominists had built around the icy carvern that had locked Nex away... It was there that Sliske made his move...
  14. This is a thread mainly about the history and backstory of some of the charachters ingame... It will contain spoilers of quests and such... When talking to Ashuelot Reis, she tells you that she was approached by a person claiming to be a priest of Guthix, teaching her all the rites and such... We know this person was really the Zarosian Mahjarrat Sliske, that instead taught her a ritual that would re-awaken Nex from a curse or whatever that had put her under many years before... So Sliske did not teach her the Guthixian ways and rites... How could he, for none of the Mahjarrat would've known about him (Zaros arrived after Guthix went into his first slumber)... So how is it possible for Ashuelot Reis to have turned into a Nature Spirit using the teachings of Guthix? Normally I wouldn't make a thread about this, but recently a Development Blog came out that would suggest that they wouldn't leave such a giant gaping plothole...
  15. You mean like how Google cant be accessed in China? Oh wait...
  16. I complain that my trains sometimes don't run on time... But I don't have the means to buy a car, and I refuse to jump on a bicycle...
  17. The true head of the snake is the scumbag that is actually buying gold from such companies... In the past I mapped out a solution that would severely reduce the merits of botting, simply because of a "scare" factor...
  18. Got my tickets too... Now to think of a party trick that can top last year's "handing of ze cabbage"
  19. See my Times article in Feb of this year for one fo the few viable solutions... Btw, I have someone coming forth testifying that he is the original taker of the picture, and that it is not a fake... He however, refuses to step forward, so we're still not making any headway :)
  20. While the picture in question could indeed be a fake (and I admit I did not research it as well as I would have done for, say, a Times article) I have read similar comments on the RSoF by other Jagex people. My point about how much in denial/ignorance jagex is about bots, however, stands...
  21. Well? Can ANYONE answer me this?
  22. Check the post date; it may simply be that the thread in question no longer exists...
  23. I hate to pull posts out of context, so I always post the whole thing if available... But the thing I'm on about is here: "...however what we don't want is a small number of people toiling all day in a citadel just to keep it maintained. That kind of content plays into the hands of bots and is something we tried to limit in the design of citadels." This pretty much proves to me how well Jagex knows what the motivation to use bots really is... @Newb: I am unable to find it as well, searching for it yields an error...
