Tip.It Times - 6th February 2011
@Allah: My article last month was not about ranting against the coming of Free Trade, but more using it as an argument to explain why the community was in decline... Changes to the game that have such a huge impact can merit a response from each and every one of our (very diverse) writing staff... We often have different opinions, and yet sometimes we don't... In this case it happens to be because we all understand what the effects of these changes might mean... You're welcome to skip any articles that you may think are ranting about all the bad stuff that's happening... I for one tend to mix my articles up a bit (I do my annual economic thing at Haloween), but more often then not you're going to want to write about what has happened recently, or what will happen in the near future... For example: I've written my articles about botting and/or account sharing in the past, and they were well liked by most people... I do not feel the need to write yet another article about it again, because I said what I needed to say and it is not my job to make people listen, understand and eventually change their opinion... I write purely because I like to do it, because people like to read it, and because I (apparently) have soemthing to say... Should I still make someone wiser with my articles than thats just bonus points... My next article's subject I have not yet determined, but seeing as we've had plenty of good writers with our latest recruitment drive I'll not need to write it for another month or so... The downside of all the new writers is that all the good topics might already be taken... Bottomline stands though... If a subject is big and important enough, like these recent changes, you're bound to see it pop up more than once in the Tip.it Times... Jagex dragged the whole 'vote'-thing out for over three weeks, so perhaps the cause of repeated article subjects is not entirely ours? @Wessan: While you make some very good points, I think the key argument here is your last line: So far Jagex have pretty much proven that they can't... I agree that we should give them a chance (again), but given their trackrecord and admission that these things will always be a problem, I'm not expecting much... When Botting and RWT and attempts at Scamming and Phishing and Begging are back to levels from before the implementation of Free Trade (knowing it was still a major problem), I'll publicly eat my words... But untill then I rather wait and see... And remain convinced that they should first have tried to get rid of these problems before bringing these changes about...

Thank you, your abuse report has been received.
Uhm... You guys DID read this week's Tip.it Times, didn't you? :) You'll find it pretty much agrees with you with a much more elaborate explanation...

Tip.It Times - 6th February 2011
@AllahisGreat: The past month? I've published ONE article before this one and it was about the decline of the community and the causes of said decline... And before that it was TWO MONTHS of fictional stuff... I'm not entirely sure if you're willing to put all of the articles in the Times on my credit, but if you are, I'll accept the compliment... However; if you're willing to debunk everything I have said, feel free to submit a guest article? @Sprite: I gave TWO arguments what Free Trade was good for... I specifically stated I could not think of ANYTHING else that couldn't also have been achieved with a few tweaks to the previous system... But your own arguments, one of which is increased player interaction, doesn't hold any water either, cuz almost everyone is using the GE nowadays (except for the high-end merchables I mentioned in my article already)... Oh and I DID mention runners too ;) @3r: Love the sarcasm :D But I do feel you missed the poitn of my article... @saywuuuuuuuuuuuuuut: You're 100% right... I merely tried to gauge how many people are still happy with their decision, seeing what we know today... @Kat: Glad to see some people still take the time to formulate a reply eloquently... Well said...

World 2 falador
I never said it was you nit! Here's what I am on about:
-
World 2 falador
Thats cuz I dont; I said that for your needs to sell and buy items you can wait for, and do not need to get from a specific player or in a specific place, you'd be sensible to go to the GE rather than stand and scream in fally w2 (which is what this thread is about, you idiots)... If someone is willing to match the opposite end of the trade you want; you're much better off going to the GE... For those things; yes, player to player trade is obsolete, therefor dead even if you dont know it yet... THAT is what I have been saying and thinking all along... All of you morons that claim otherwise are trolls, FYI...
-
Oh the perils of botting
Isn't it stealing candy from someone who's making and selling fake Mars bars? ;) Anywho; RWT-ers too lazy to make the money they sell now? Improvement?
-
World 2 falador
You DIDNT read my post; cuz: I NEVER MADE THE STANDPOINT THAT PLAYER TO PLAYER TRADE SHOULD BE REMOVED!!! I just said its going to be largely the usage of the GE for the items you want, and NOT fally w2, which is what this topic is really about... And let me enlighten you on why I called you trolls: You guys dont seem to want to get it for some reason; therefor you = troll
-
The End of the G.E?
Isn't it the GE's job to keep up with prices? Paris Hilton? I just rofled at that...
-
We need a new emote
I support this :D
-
World 2 falador
Are you blind? Or did you happen to forget to read my previous reasoning? You just used as an argument the ONLY instances I said where player-to-player would still exist; which is when trying to get certain items to or from a specific player... But If you need an item, and it doesnt matter from who, then why bother with trading when you can use the exchange... Now stop trolling...

WARNING: SCAM EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT
Will edit after this post :D

WARNING: SCAM EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT
Shows what you know: Jagex mailed me when wilderness happened, when runefest was happening, etc etc...
-
WARNING: SCAM EMAIL HAS BEEN SENT
A massive email just went out, and it LOOKS like it is one from Jagex, but it really isn't... Saying: "This is an automated email from Jagex Ltd., makers of RuneScape and FunOrb, sent because your account has been compromised by a third party hijacker" THIS IS FALSE! It follows with a link that seemingly leads to Jagex's sites, but it leads (mouse-over showed this) to an address based on a belgian server (home dot base dot be slash a whole lotta something - do not try this at home)... This is what free trade is causing, cuz now everyone that can go on your account can basicly empty your bank into theirs... There might be many more emails out there, so keep an eye out and be suspicious of everything!

01-Feb-2011 - Return of the Wilderness
He meant helping your own argument... Stop acting stupid... You're not... You're like a person walking on a pedestrian crossing that only walks on the black bits... I'm pretty sure you can see the white bits, but you avoid it... Just like you avoid having a real argument/admit you're wrng about fally w2...

World 2 falador
Wessan & naraku: For an item to get to a specific player; then yes, normal trade is still usefull... But, as I explained in another post; If you need an item (any item really), and are willing to pay a certain amount for it; its stupid to go look for a trade partner on a specific world, when you can just put your end of the offer in the GE and start wasitng your time doing something else... The offer will remain there until someone is willing to be at the opposite end of that trade... Why waste time screaming you want to buy a D pickaxe (for example) when you can put an offer in the GE... Anyone willing to sell that pickaxe for the amount you screamed or less will go to the GE and voila; trade is made... The ONLY thing that the GE still has is the 5%-max up and down movement, so some items may become frozen (which might be the case for party hats and crashing items)... Jagex could fix this partly by doubling or even tripling the amount of GE updates we have now... But random player to player trade is mostly dead, therefor Fally w2 is also mostly dead...
-
01-Feb-2011 - Return of the Wilderness
Seems so, yes  I wonder why though... Cuz you can sell and buy pretty much anything for any price at the GE... You're going to stand around screaming on one world in a small section of a city for a trade partner (to get the exchange done with), while you could just put the offer in the GE and go do whatever... If your supposed trade partner is just as smart as you are and also goes to the GE for the opposite end of the exchange, then Fally w2 is absolutely obsolete...
-
World 2 falador
This. I actually support this idea... One should be in Falador and yet another in Ardougne... Each of these GE's should trade in most, but not all items, forcing people to use all of them (Ardy would obviously have not the monopoly on certain F2P items ;)) And who knows; it may be a step in the right direction to one day see competing currencies... I do not think Falador will return, I infact believe that trading player to player may dissapear altogether in the long run... My explanation for this will be in the Tip.it Times of Feb 6th...

Extremes in New Wildy
Extremes should be allowed; but only if Herblore becomes a combat skill...
-
Lagg and Bots
Wouldn't Runescape lagg more if more players were logged into game and using the servers? Yes... Especially considering bots tend to send much more "clicks" over the net than regular players who tend to get distracted more often :) Such as on w84...

Shattered Heart Discussion
That must be a glitch; so I'd report it if I was you.

Wilderness and Free Trade will return - 17 January 2011
TBH; I'm looking forward to poke holes in teh answers of the QnA :D

Tip.It Times - 16th January 2011
Sound familiar?

Tip.It Times - 16th January 2011
They would've returned all the same with a proper poll...
-
Tip.It Times - 16th January 2011
@Grin: I "found out" that they were lying when they switched to what they called a referendum from a poll... The language used is distinctly different from what they have used in the past... You sign a petition, and vote in a poll... That's the langiage they have always used, and labelling things differently do not make it seem more intentional to me... Ok, I agree that this is not 100% proof, but even bladewing, the supposed target of my supposed troll, agrees with the premise that the "petition" was a mistake... @wing: no but there may be others like you... *remembers bush v gore*
