  1. A way to tele there. It is too hard to get to, that's why I don't bother going there. like i suggested... a cart ride but then from mining guild... would you then go there more often?
  2. And yet, traffic is low there... so here are soem suggestions to [bleep]e it up a bit: - Keldagrim mine cart tracks also should go to inside the mining guild - Make smithing profitable again, f.e. by reducing the furnace costs - you think of something? ;)
  3. if a real life "friend" for some reason got hold of my account (who the hell is stupid enough to give out his pass anyways), and if he abused it... i'd go over and kick the crap out of him until his own parents wouldnt recognize him anymore... or till he gives me HIS password, so i can get everything back :)
  4. he wants an auto-banksale option, lol... use the market section of the forum pl0x
  5. take tele fally runes ffs and on your way back get 30 gp nuff said
  6. So with all your arguments... should we just accept that there are auto-ers? No... HELLO NO! Im making suggestions, that if implemented on a semi-large scale, would drasticly drive back the auto-ers... STARTING WITH COCACOLABOTTLE :P I cant prove that someone is lagging, or a slow connection... Hence i say: Report em all, and let jagex sort it out :) to cocacolabottle: anything giving you an unfair advantage is a bannable offense, consider your post being sent to jagex :)
  7. that i agree with... but what i was pointing out (and you know damn what i meant) that the axe hut is a nice example... just as the al kharid palace guards once was a way to be able to fight for hours on end cooking a load of lobbies hardly qualifies as autoing... I think i said that only the auto typers are easy to recognize didnt i? oh yes, im sure i did ;) the rest requires a bit of observation, and i think i pointed that out too in my initial post...
  8. actually, i havent been on in a day or so... But can you PLEASE get back on topic and talk about how to stop auto-ers? We've established that afk-training is auto-ing, deal with it, ok? go out there and do some usefull stuff...
  9. omg, this is the 999,999,999th time its been suggested USE SEARCH FFS
  10. Huh? this isnt where I logged out... and wasnt I wearing a dragon shield? OMG I BEEN HACKED!!! A few precautionairy steps can be taken to prevent this too-often-recurring scene... Set a bank pin Obvious... and DONT make it 1-2-3-4... What you also should do, is put your stuff in the bank before you log out... You're not going to spend the night on the streets with a few thousand dollar in cash on you in real life either, do you? Put your valuable stuff in the bank, else the bank has no use... Password and recovery As per Jagex' advise, change these regularly, and use a different password for everything (email, this forum, rs account...) Also, dont have your passwords be something that people can phish for (like the name of a loved one, or birthdate), nor anything similar to anything else you use (like bank pin) Your computer... -Get a firewall (I recommend Zonealarm) -Get some anti-virus (preferably one that continually monitors your computer's every move, like F-secure does) -Get some anti-spyware (AdAware or Spybot - Search&Destroy are the best out there) -Learn how to use it (I and many others can help you with that) - Scan your computer with this online virus/trojan/malware/grayware/adware/vunrabilities scanner: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/ The best one there is... -KNOW the threats out there (all the virusses, email scams, and what not) Always check where you last logged in from You always get a message when you log in that shows the last time and location you logged in from (IP wise)... ALWAYS CHECK IF IT IS YOURS DO NOT CLICK DODGY LINKS Self explanatory... under this heading fall ofc the links people tell you to get the "members file" from... Or "go here to add 3 mill to your bank" DO NOT GET TRICKED INTO GIVING YOUR PASS Again, self explanatory... stuff like "If you type your password it gets turned into ******"... Or "I am a jagex mod, give me your pass" (I usually reply with "You are not jagex, you are reported")... Or similar tricks... Dont even TRY to be stupid enough to give your pass to a "friend" If you do that, I'll gladly be your friend :) You and you ALONE should be the only one able to get to your account... What if you got hacked? -Check friends list for new additions (talk to em as if you were the hacker, any info you get will help) -Mobilize your friends to track em down (usually the one online hangs at a bank... check if he is trading a higher lvl... thats the one you should ultimately get back at, because its usually the main account, and prolly HIS bank where your Dmed is a"t) -Immediatly recover your account witht he recovery questions set -Track down the IP that hacked you (you shouldve checked this), and report him to his ISP (a simple DNS lookup and a mail will usually do) -Use the Jagex-provided ways to report that you've been hacked and get your account back that way... -DO NOT expect your stuff back (its sad, i know, but you shouldnt have gotten hacked in the first place if you followed this guide) Again, more additions as soon as I have them for you... Tip.it mods: Feel free to sticky it if found fitting
  11. how about you just get reported, and let jagex sort it out? EDIT: Rule 7. Macroing: You must not attempt to use other programs (e.g. bots, macros or autominers) in conjunction with our games to give yourself an unfair advantage at the game. You also may not circumvent any of our mechanisms designed to log out inactive users automatically. I believe this last line INCLUDES any AFK training... what was your RSN again? ;)
  12. actually... the weapon used ingame is a falchion... its just named as a scimitar a scimitar has a blade that stays at the same width throughout its length... much like a sable
  13. I'm sure a lot of people have been down that road, and got something in a trade that they did not quite expect... The first, foremost, and most mentioned suggestion to this above everything else is: ALWAYS CHECK THE 2ND TRADE SCREEN Unfortunately, JaGeX has not implemented a 5 second delay until you can click "accept" a second time (HINT HINT!), so you gotta teach yourself to do it... YES EVEN WHEN TRADING YEARS-LONG TRUSTED FRIENDS... make it a habit! Scamming can be done by a single person, but also by a group of people... I'll be trying to tell you what to look out for, and what you can do to help with the fight against scammers The best way to stop scammers is simple: DO NOT GET SCAMMED... if you know every scam in the book, then it's hard indeed to get scammed... The selling low, buying high-team One guy is in a corner of a bank selling some un-rare item for a few hundred k, and someone on the other side of the bank is buying it for a few mill... This might look like a lucrative deal, BUT DO NOT FALL FOR IT... Here is a list of items that are often used in such a scam (taken from Jagex' forums and added some): 4-dose potions Charcoal Machete Crushed Gemstone SPINACH ROLL Elemental Shields Paramaya Inn Ticket Gnome Ball (will be seen more now since I wrote this Pete's Candlestick Toy Horses Unfermented wine Bad wine Shantay Dislaimer (prolly most useless item ever) Half-pizza's, parts of cakes and pies Hollow reed Bark Colored gloves (f2p, watch out, theyre no more then 650gp) Black items (including scimitar and claws) Gold Nugget Parts of Shield of Arrav (you can only get the reward once, no matter how much shields you make) Eye patches Fire (lit) arrows Shade robes Sliced and/or diced fruits (pineapple, banana) Snelms Cleaning Cloth Limestone (bricks) Sulfur Palm Leaves Sticky red goop Eye of gnome Drinks and ales Maple logs (for f2p people) Teak and mahogany logs burnt bones monkey bones rock hammer OBSIDIAN RING (the ring you throw as ranged weapon) These items are neither rare, nor much of value, DONT SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED COINS ON THIS! The second and more DANGEROUS scamming method is people who substitute one item just before trading, with another, hoping you dont look at the 2nd screen... People have literaly lost millions on some of these scams, and I will highlight what I know... And ofcourse, try to keep it updated of Tip.it lets me :) Usually the items look the same, but in some cases, the scammer is bold, and hands you a bogus item :) -Leaf-bladed spear for Guthans spear -Willow logs for magic logs -1000k for 100k (or similar instant-devaluation... 111k to 11k is one of em too, careful with these) -Rune items for mithril items -rock hammer for granite maul Other scams are: "Follow me to xXxXx"... Why? if you have somethign to trade, you can give it right there and then... not in deep wildy... "Free armor trimming" This is IMPOSSIBLE, even for members "Free smithing/enchanting/gem cutting" Dont do it, unless you get the finished item back in the same trade as you give HIM the unfinished item (so dont give him an uncut ruby, unless he gives you a cut one in return in the same trade window) "Give me your item, i will double it for you" is also a classic one "drop item, and press alt+f4, it will duplicate" will also NOT work "i can make you a mod/member for free" will also never work "hey, i wanna check out your whip, follow me to wildy" they will give you 4 dragon longswords, or another item of more shop value, so they will kill you and you loose your whip So basicly giving ANYTHING without compensation directly at the same trade, is a BAD IDEA!!! YOU can stop scammers as well... Just go to the more populated places, and report the people you see that are scamming someone... OR, even better... if someone tries a scam on you, immediatly contact some friends to tele to that location again... TRUST ME when i say that if a scammer has struck once, he will try it again in the same place... One of my mates got scammed out of a few hundred k coins, but instead of reporting him and shouting about it, he reported him, and contacted me and a few other people... We traded him again with a similar deal, and each and every one of us reported him (scammers only want cash, they dont care for names)... I think he got reported about 8 times for the same scam... He no longer exists in the highscores :) Thats it for now for my anti-scam guide... i'll be posting an anti hack guide soon... Tip.it mods: Feel free to sticky it if found fitting
  14. Excuse you? I said its AFK-ing... which is a FORM of autoing... Stop twisting my words, you filthy AFK-er :P
  15. actually when you throw the ball at someone, the ball appears in the weapon hand... will test it out :)
  16. Tired of a bunch of auto-ers ruining the runescape econimy... ruining the highscores... ruining your mining spots... ruining your sales pitches on the trade worlds... Basicly turning runescape into ruinscape? then keep on reading I will be handling this from 3 angles: - What YOU can do on RuneScape itself - What you can do OUTSIDE of runescape - What JaGeX can do First: What YOU can do on Runescape itself: One thing is quite easy to do... its very easy to detect auto typers, especially on world 1 and 2... NOONE can type Flash2:wave2:selling full rune, no kite, 200k -Uba Merchant1337- every 2 seconds and type it flawless too... thats next to IMPOSSIBLE... Report these, because auto typers are to auto miners as weed is to harddrugs... Auto-typers are by FAR the LARGEST group of autoers out there, and BY FAR the easiest to detect The other thing to do is to annoy people while they try to lvl their fishing, cooking, or smithing... Close doors just as they approach, and keep re-opening them and closing them (hey, you're just testing the hinges, right?)... or worse, throw them a Gnomeball (f2p) and watch how theyr not-up-2-date scripts cant handle it... Report them if they suddenly make no effort to get through that door, or run around like headless chickens... The Gnomeball is especially effective when people are AFK training (whichever way you turn it, it's also a form of auto-ing)... cuz its VERY hard to hit enemies with a Gnomeball instead of a Whip :) If they die in the process, its more benefit for you too :) What you can do OUTSIDE of the game: Not a whole lot really, other then submit to jagex any people any evidence the people present themselves... Most commonly you find (even on these very forums) saying something similar to this: "Omg i died while i was browsing forums... Stupid randoms!"-topics or posts Thats also AFK training... its really not that hard to read the forums when not playing... noone can play for 10 hours straight anyways... people have to take breaks... read forums during those breaks? Another thing is to gather a few friends from your clan, and just log in with the sole purpose to find auto-ers... its fun, and its usefull :) What JaGeX can do about auto-ers Well, as some people suggested, they could release their own auto-ers, and when downloaded, the ip that downloads it could be banned from ever contacting the jagex site again... It could be seen as entrapment, but lets face it... you shouldnt be looking for auto-ers in the first place :) (you could create such a fake auto-er yourself if you had the skills :) ) What jagex could also do, is hire some more Mods, and patrol the often-auto'ed places (ardy, seers, cath, fally, varrock, etc)... Thats it for now for my anti-autoing guide... i'll be posting an anti hack guide as well as an anti scam guide soon... Tip.it mods: Feel free to sticky it if found fitting
  17. I think it comes down to wether the account really belongs to you or to jagex... kinda like cola bottles... they say on it that they remain the property of the company...
  18. so can someone please bottom line this for me in a guide? if i get it correctly, its liek this: 1: find a suspect auto-er 2: determine if he could very well be an auto-er 3: throw a gnomeball at him 4: make fun of him and laugh at him as you type up his name in the report window at 5 it gets questionable for me: where do i get a new gnome ball? do i really have to score 5 times again?
  19. im thinking that blood crafting would be too profitable if it went down liek any other runecrafting... perhaps more then 1 ess needed per blood? perhaps some actual blood required (your own?)
  20. i once picked up a rune hatchet, addy kite, and rune legs... nothing as fancy as you, but i own the rune legs and rune hatchet till this day ;)
  21. just report them for macroing... the definition of macroing is that you use some sort of program (hey, windows is a program, in which you rededitted :P) to gain an unfair advantage they cant ban you because you misused their customer support because they have their own defionitions flawed... other then that... just hope they get hacked due to it being an unsafe program, and all the cash they earned is gone :)
  22. f2p peeps can make maple sirup from them, right?
