Imageshack let's you upload images directly from an url, and I'd say their hosting is better than most other hosts.

Oh! I had totally forgotten about this thread. Haven't I told you my memory is awful before? Well, I'll be updating it soon then.

I've been feeling awful too. I was not made to endure the winter and its darkness and its cold, and my body is resenting it. And my finals start next week, so I'm stressed out too. :| On other note, the right wing won the elections in Costa Rica, again. That really isn't helping my mood, either.

I really can't see why it's so evil and selfish not to have children. My father isn't a worse person because he had 10 children less than my grandmother, now is he? How is it that if I have 3 children less than him, it will be wrong? And even if it somehow was evil, homosexuals can still adopt and even have children of their own with surrogates. And what happens in third world countries with high fertility rates? Would it be better to be gay there? @Bolded: Now, gays existed in the past, too, even when fiercely persecuted. It's not that there are more and more gays now than before, they just aren't feeling as oppressed and recriminated as before. Homosexuals are not recruiting your children. Are you assuming people choose to be gay?

What do you disagree with, exactly?
  6. meol replied to RexMilotic's topic in Off-Topic
Religion and tradition, I would say. Almost all arguments that don't fall back to religion are based either on an historical definition or on seeing gay marriages as an attack on families (probably because homosexual love is seen as impure, so marriage equality would somehow devalue heterosexual marriages).
  7. British women are nowhere near as bad as people make out. I take it you mean English, also. Scottish and Irish women are great. All that springs to my mind with "British Women" is Dolores Umbridge and Margaret Thatcher. Maybe the Queen too, but that'd be it. :?
  8. Now that we are talking about racial tastes, I confess I'd much prefer the Caucasians and Latinos, too. And the video's opening song is from Fullmetal Alchemist. Just saying.
  9. How can you like that?? It's the fresher sweat, not the stinky stuff.

I guess I just don't like how some people jump from that to "humans are just egoistical savages" and "I have lost all faith in humanity" or even some Ayn Rand'esque philosophy.

The fact you can find anything to have a self-serving consequence doesn't mean that it is automatically the moving reason behind a deed. :???:

I'm honestly curious about this. Did these Founding Misters really design a two-party system where politics would be bound to be polarised?

Tutorials are a complete waste of time. If attendance and in class quizzes weren't worth 25% of my final I would skip all of them. I honestly feel like killing myself when a TA tries desperately to explain something he can hardly grasp... good thing there's a hottie with a sexy raspy voice to keep me company for the two hours  I don't know about you, but tutorials are vital for me. Maybe I just got lucky with my tutors but I'd have an awful time without them.
  14. I remember making bread with flour and water in Lumbridge. Who'd know Runescape would teach me something useful?

I'm sorry, but try writing a more thought-provoking post with something that can be discussed. Losing that much money can be frustrating, but just saying you did is not much but spam.

What's so illogical about love anyway? Can't you feel empathy and fondness towards other humans without saying "this is not natural and logical"?
  17. Oh, my bad. I don't know why I assumed that everyone in the forums was American. The point still stands, though. There are countries embracing equality at the other side of the English Channel. But I now understand his point better. Progress will take much longer in England with the whole State Church.
  18. Well, my memory is like a shaky straw skyscraper built on a windy seaside swamp and yet I've always been good at maths, so I just doubt you are taking the right approach to it if you say it's too difficult because of the memorisation.
  19. I tried to join in at the very beginning and failed miserably after the second post. Anyway, archimage, you are failing to realise that homosexual marriage is already a reality in several countries in the world, and many more already have some kind of registered partnership or civil union, with large approval by the population. Also, the Church of Sweden itself was a promoter of marriage equality, if I'm not mistaken, so I'd say that there's no necessary link between it and the loss of freedoms you claim about. Unless your claim is that specifically the American culture is "not ready", then I see no basis for your fear and the necessity of working so slowly. After all, these movements have gathered strength for several decades now, at least in the West. And I still don't understand what's the point with arguing about moral relativism.

I am a physicist. For Nature, she calls to me. <3: (Well, I'm just a student atm, but that's the plan) Although I've always been interested in psychology and politics, but I can't see myself working in either field.
  21. Why is everyone wishing the applicants "good luck"? Are the crewbies going to pull names out of a hat or something?
  22. I kind of share names with a Christian high prelate. Good stalkers could already take a good guess at my identity. How many family names do you have?
  23. I had never heard anyone complaining about maths needing too much memory. Usually there are problems when the student learns formulas without really understanding them. What grade are you in and what gives you trouble?
  24. I think a total separation of church and state would be a good solution. Having civil marriage available for everyone as the only means of achieving legal recognition and benefits. There's no reason a specific church should have the power to issue legally binding contracts, and there's no reason the State should discriminate sexual preferences, especially based on what are mostly religious arguments. This separation already exists in some places. It would only need to be extended and have the State offer equal protection to everyone.
