New Jersey legalizes medical marijuana...and bans gay marriage
Honestly, you lost me there. :???: What are you trying to say again? As for legalizing marihuana, I see legalization in the US as the start of a larger movement that would, hopefully, start having drugs regulated by governments and out of the hands of criminal organizations. Drug trafficking is a much worse problem than addiction or abuse, IMO.

I know you don't need to know that, but that's a German keyboard. Also, Alt+Shift changes the keyboard language in Windows, in case you do that on accident again.

I doubt there would be many civil rights around the world if that set of mind prevailed. In democracy, you have to protect oppressed groups from the tyranny of the majority, and you can't shouldn't put up civil right questions to public votes. That's why, IMO, we now have such things like Supreme Courts around the world. And that should apply to the other side of the debate. These bans stop people from doing something they want.

Sixth Sense Techology (Not about the movie)
Why so luddite? Why do you say it's wrong to make life simple? Yes, humans are now dependent on the society they've built and the science they've developed, but I fail to see why it's insidious. As for the Sixth Sense thing, I fell it's just too early to comment on it. Right now it's too rudimentary and lacks the features to replace existing technologies. Taking pics with your fingers might look cool, but I can't see much of an use, at least for now.

post locking
I had always felt the other way around. While PM's are kept between you and another person, public posts are there for everyone to see so you have to be more careful with what you write. There's no need to get defensive and say "your time isn't appreciated". The fact you've already had 4 different staff posting here shows that we do care about your opinion. And they're telling you what you can do if you want to get heard.

Freedom of Press
But that's only because freedom of speech and press have been hideously misrepresented in order to cover the sensationalist media. Freedom of press was supposed to protect against censorship and promote public debate, not to intrude in the private sphere like that. By no means would freedom be harmed if you stopped listening about, say, Tiger Woods. There's a very clear difference between the original intentions and rationale of freedom of press, and the media exposing, and even destroying, someone's private life. There's no need to throw them both together under the umbrella of "freedom". By saying regulating the media like that would only lead to further encroachment of liberties you are just making up a slippery slope.

You realise that's just a special service they offer? There's no monthly fee for faxing. Beh. I feel so old explaining faxing to a bunch of teenagers.

Nasa Image of Mainland UK
Not to mention it was predicted that climate would might bring cold to Europe. Anyway, suddenly 2 cm of snow and -3° C doesn't sound that bad. You just made my day.

I'm pretty sure faxing uses the phone line to send the information, so you'll be charged for it as though it was a normal phone call. I wouldn't go around sending oversea faxes. They usually have a feed where you put the paper you want to fax, then you dial the number and push a huge green button named "send".

There anything that can't kill you?
No, really. Neutrinos already have a non-zero mass and travel at near light speeds through your body in large numbers without any kind of effect. Now I'm wondering if I should just lock the thread.

I guess you mean Hydrogen Peroxide? Because Benzoyl Peroxide does wonders for acne.

On Rebellion
You are basically saying that, for example, a virtuous Buddhist could still go to the Christian heaven, but a virtuous atheist could not, because he has rejected God, right? Then, do you realise that a large part of Buddhists don't believe in an creator God? They are, in that sense, atheists. What about them? Where lies the boundary for you?

I'm looking for a program that can run a DnD 3.5 campaign online.
I'm not completely sure, but are you talking about something like this? [Edit] Sorry, I haven't even used the program yet. I just had found it some days ago and thought it was cool. :-P

"I want a girlfriend/boyfriend", and other such relationship advice
What a curious question to ask on this thread, but how do girls react when they're into you, and not just interested in you as a friend? Misjudgement here would lead to some serious awkwardness I would very much avoid.

If God were on trial - What would be the charges?
lol you too. The thread hadn't much potential from the beginning, and there's not much to discuss here without falling back into the same old spam and religious bashing. On hindsight, it was a mistake of mine not closing it before. Locked.
