  1. Irelevant. I'm not sure that you showed how. That's what the next statement is for. To a degree, yes. Many societies consider abusing/killing your children as unacceptable. Even America does.True, but there is a difference between a child and an unborn. You still haven't said why not.I have, see previous statement. Global society has agreed that it's acceptable to put the parent in charge. In most countries, yes, but the purpose of this debate is to determine whether or not they should have less rights, not if they do. I'm, aware of that, hence my question: What gives you the right to tell a woman that she cannot have an abortion? Your feelings for taking the life of an unborn? What gives you the right to force her to carry, give birth to, and raise the baby? How is abortion different than day-after pills? As I said I'm convinced that an unborn baby has no self-awareness, so I really don't see how an abortion is different than a day-after pill. You are taking just as many lives. Heck, why is abortion murder if a condom isn't? You're still preventing just as many from being born. Quoting up small parts of the text to put it out of context is the most pathetic form of debate there is, lets try not to sink to that level shall we? Answer my questions instead ;P
  2. Irelevant. Societies all over the world consider parents to be in full charge of their offspring. Slavery cannot be compared to it at all. Whether or not it is moral, unborn beings are less than human in terms of rights, like it or not.
  3. What gives me the right to say a pregnant woman cannot have abortion? What gives any of you the right to say a pregnant woman cannot have an abortion? It conflicts with you religious views? Too bad, I heard church and politics were supposed to be seperate. I refuse to believe that in an early stage pregnancy, the baby has any kind of self awareness whatsoever. We cannot outlaw everything we do not like. If it does not hurt society or it's people, it should never be made a crime.
  4. beond, zzt, blender and Pyro, you do not like reading do you? quite a few of these programs are 100% programming/scripting required. If they were 100% programming required they wouldnt be game maker programs  why me, and people with......... I could wright a Java compiler, and call it a game maker. Why do not you actually look at a few of them, befor breaking out the  I'm very well aware how programs like the one you list work, and that there are quite a few that are fairly complicated. Heck, I've learned several scripting languages for game makers. It was a waste of time. Scripting is very different from "real" programming.
  5. I've said it before and I'm saying it again: It's impossible to make a good "game" with programs like this. It won't be unique at all. If you really want to make a game, learn a programming language. It will take time, but so will making anything even remotely playable with game-creation programs.
  6. This forum is a part of these boards, and as far as I am concerned, our goal is not to scare newbies (In no way using the term as an insult) away. These boards may have been declining in quality in terms of the stuff posted, I wouldn't know as I very seldom check it. This might no longer be a board where you can look and expect most threads to contain high-quality work. I wouldn't know. But I do know what the original point of this board was: To offer a place for members to post and comment on images. Nowhere did we say only skilled and experienced artists were allowed to post. Many of you reading this can create stunning pieces of work, and I'm not trying to scare you away. But if you feel that the posting of "newbish" images makes this board less fun, I'm afraid you're going to have to live with that. Another point was also made. Moderators may not be supposed to take sides in certain matters, but that has nothing to do with this post. Moderators are free to take sides in debates, otherwise we'd have a fairly dull job, wouldn't we? If you have a problem with a moderators decision, take that up in PM with an admin. In this case I sure don't see any mistakes being made. An opinion is just that, an opinion. Now, it's my hope that users of this board can learn to accept that others may not be as graphically skilled as the veterans of the board. I'm not asking you to give top ratings to really poor work or anything like that, it's simply a matter of respect. If there are any questions regarding this I ask that you take it up with me in PM, instead of posting it here. My one point is: Tip.it aims to be a community were everyone is welcome, not just the veterans. I'm now going to lock this topic.
  7. The killing of Real Life people in signatures is very inapropriate, even if the person in question is a terrorist. Locked.
  8. Runescape has a much more active community than many of the popular online games. Welcome to the world of MMORPGs. I fail to see how the other MMO's take more skill than Runescape, and I've tried several. For such a small Java game the graphics are great. Any better and the client size would have increased a lot. I'm not saying the review was unfair, but those points weren't well thought-out IMHO. 1. No, no it doesn't. Most MMORPG"s nowadays have things like mod/admin guided storlines and daily activities. 2. Oh so many are more than positioning your mouse and clicking while you watch T.V. 3. They are saying, that it is ugly for that reason. It does look good for what resources it uses, but it's still ugly compared to the other MMORPG's that still charge. 1. Staff-organised are not what makes a community, far from it. 2. I have yet to find a single MMORPG that requires skill to succeed in. 3. Irrelevant comparision. RS charges a third of what those games does, can be played on any internet-connnected computer and is available for free. It is in a genre of its own, a comparision to the graphics of retail MMORPGs is foolish. Compare it to other Java MMRPGs instead, because that's the only comparisions worth doing.

  10. I will fight untill death for my country, for my right to say what I want, and for the freedom I believe in.
  11. Something I'd like to add: Unique-ness is easily the most important thing to keep in mind when making a forum. Sure, you could make the 376th Tip.it Forums copy, but you won't get any users. Face it, there are countless Runescape forums out there and if you don't have a major site to back it up yours won't have any chance at all of getting anywhere. Also, if your dead-set on making a Runescape forum, ask yourself why your users should use it. If there are hundreds of similar boards, you will need something to draw users to the site. You as the owner is not a good argument to attract users, neither is "First 10 are mods". Just look at the other big Runescape forums today, and you'll see that most of them are different from each other. These boards are "general" boards for Runescape, the Inn is specialized on roleplaying, New Era is specialized on PK'ing etc. They all have something that makes them different from each other, and thus attract users. Most of them also have a site about the game attached to them. On topic: Great guide :)
  12. Enough with the "Shut up", "no, you shup ut!" etc... Topic: No, I don't believe in God. If I did believe in the existance of the Christian God I would still not worship him, because his ethical views are in my mind messed up. I don't have the time to follow the debate though so I think I'll stay out of it.

    Ghosts...

I don't believe in gods, and I don't believe in ghosts. The human mind tries to find an explanation for everything, and when it can't, it creates one. I'm 100% convinced that's why people think they have seen ghosts.
  14. What is it? An exceptionaly lame website with games and flash movies as far as I know.
