  1. The AMR Technology has not yet been released, and as such you wouldn't even be able to boot the BIOS with that setup :P So far the only cards which support running more than one card simultaneously are the nVidia 6600/6800 series.
  2. The Hijackthis.de analyzer was not created to show people which entries are bad, it was created to show people which entries aren't. Hence, it is useless to anyone who cannot distinguish between parasites and false positives. Mercifull is correct, those who do not know what they are doing could risk messing up software by using it, and thus I would say his reaction was justified.
  3. Your profile was set to "Chinese", which I changed to English. It should now work as normal again.
  4. Admin Control Panel > Forum Admin > Permissions > [board of your choice] Set Reply and Post to "Reg". That will prevent guests from posting in that forum.
  5. Mint or chocolate. Or mint AND chocolate :)
  6. http://www.killdisk.com/ I've never used it, but from what I've heard it's a great program. It's not strictly free, but the free version should do everything you need it to do.
  7. Meh, that sucks. You better back back ;P
  8. Speaking of passworded files, I would like to recomend the program Truecrypt. It's a freeware application which creates an encrypted file-container, which you put a password on. Then whenever you want to access them, you mount the container with Truecrypt and enter the passwords. Then you can use the files without any restrictions. The difference between this solution and a password is the security. A normal passworded file might get cracked with a random program, but a file encrypted with a medium-level encryption won't get broken into unless the sneaky person happens to know the password or has quite a few clustered computers to brute force it with. You should use a long passphrase for maximum security. Of course, if your sole concern is that your sister might read your files, this is major overkill. Still, it is a great program.
  9. I fail to see the difference between PC's and "consoles". They both have motherboards, they both have processors, they both have memory, they both have video cards, they both have PSU's and they both have sound cards. Heck, some consoles even use the x86 architecture. You can connect a PC to a TV. You can connect gamepads to a PC. The way I see it, there is very little difference between modern-day consoles and PC's, and thus, the term "Video game system" includes both. However, out of all non-PC systems I prefer the PS2. For the sole reason that it has the GTA and Final Fantasy games.
  10. I'm sceptical that these ever happened. The coffee thing was bad, but these are too extreme to be believeable. It *might* be true, but I doubt it. But let's say that they are true... In that case I don't see the need to burn the people who won the money alive, as they simply abused a messed up system. Now, as for the jury who gave made that verdict on the other hand...
  11. You will simple not be able to create a larger than 20 gigabytes partition on the drive. This should not affect the actual drive in any way, but it does feel like a waste of space.
  12. Looks 100% clean to me. The file you mentioned is a browserplugin for Adobe Acrobat :)
  13. you're obviously not from america I can think of a whole race that gets offended by itWhy? Becuase the flag was used by people who wanted to enslave them? The same could be said for Europe, where most states have occupied on another numerous times throughout history. Should the Swedish flag be outlawed in Norway because my ancestors enforced our laws on them?I dont think anything that happened in europe could compare to slavery. I doubt any of your ancestors were enslaved and made to work for a person and if they didnt want to they they were whipped, hung, beaten, and finally mrudered. A bunch of vikings pillaging and plundering doesnt' compare to slavery. Not that Vikings have anything to do with it, but I fail to see how being killed by one is any different from being killed by someone else. The particular example happened just 100 years ago, which isn't exactly the viking-age. In Europe we've executed and enslaved people based on their nationality, skincolor and religion for thousands of years, I fail to see how that doesn't compare to slavery. For the record, we did have slavery in Europe aswell. Gah, this sounds like "We were treated worse" competition... But nonetheless, you'd have to be ignorant to make tyhe claim "I dont think anything that happened in europe could compare to slavery". Since someone was so quick to mention the Nazis, I guess we can use that as an example again. Should the German flag be outlawed in Israel?
  14. PC. Superior hardware, which means vastly improved graphics. The best controllers (Mouse and keyboard). Usefull for other things than gaming. Better monitors (non-HD TV's have lousy resolutions). Obviously, the price is the major con.
  15. The original meaning wasn't what I mean though. If you ask people what the Confederate flag stands for, you'll get various answers. If you ask people what the Swastika stands for, 99% will answer something related to Hitler, the holocaust or the third reich. I do not believe people should be allowed to wear the swastika today, but I do believe they should be able to wear the Confederate flag. There's a thin line between what should logically be considered offensive and what could be considered offensive if one really wanted to. I can understand why people would want that flag banned, but I would never support such a decision.
  16. What has that got to do with a medal of honor? :?
  17. Irrelevant comparision. The Nazi symbols represent a hatefull ideal, *not* a state. The Swastika is directly representative for the murder of millions, the Confederate flag is not. England claimed ownership over the colonies that now make out the US and thus you could also say they claimed ownership over its citizens, which is basically the same as slavery. Should it be outlawed?

  19. Beyond the fact that I find it hillarious that someone who fought in the war on Terror gets one, not really. There is no honour in fighting an offensive battle against an underdog. (I'm not going to argue this point, as this topic isn't about it. Save yourself the effort of typing out pro-war propaganda, because it certainly won't change my mind on this matter) It *does* look a bit freaky though with that pentagram. But then again, it looks kinda neat.
  20. The Confederate Flag is part of the history of a lot of peoples ancestors. If they wish to display it, I see no reason to stop them. Does anyone actually get offended by it? I don't think so, they just react because they think they are supposed to be offended. Freedom = Good. Restrictions = Bad.
  21. They should have used real water cooling and not makeshift. With only a cheap kit ive got my CPU down to only 33̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâðc on average Whether your cooling system is good or not doesn't really matter, because odds are your box will die if you put in the fridge no matter how great it is :P
  22. I suppose. Odds are it'll be heavy and have a low battery time, but I guess it would work for gaming.
  23. In that case you better get started on raising the FSB (I'm assuming the multiplier is locked, since it's an Intel) ;) Really, there is no magic number that will tell you how far your CPU will go. Overclocking is time consuming, you'll have to experiment.
  24. It depends on what you want to do. The easiest way to do some basic overclocking would be to increase the FSB slightly, reboot, and run a Prime95 test. If it's stable, reboot and repeat. Not all processors are the same even if they have the same core, so there really isn't an optimal level that you can skip to and try. Most likely you'll need to modify memory timings to get anywhere, but for more info you should probably look into reading some guides about this subject. Mistakes could permanently damage your hardware.
  25. You are more safer with 10 than with 8. The question is, why bother? Unless your harddrive is 100% encrypted, including windows itself, it is possible to hack fairly easily. If a skilled user has physical access to your computer, he can gain access to it. Without brute forcing. You could use the password on Windows, but then again, someone could just use a bootdisk and mount your harddrive as a slave. You could use it on the BIOS, but then again, someone could just flash the CMOS. The *only* way you can ever archieve any real physical security is by encrypting the entire harddrive. This is a major hassle, which will reduce writing speed and prevent you from using many programs. I'm usually a security freak, but there's a point when it gets silly. Internet passwords for sensitive information are of course another matter, but one should always consider the potential risks and jugde how much security is needed depending on it. A complicated password is seriously the least of ones worries. If someone has resources such as a major supercomputer, they will own your box. No matter what passwords you put on it.
