  1. It is 100% impossible to prevent content theft from hypertext pages. This includes images and text. Since the viewing user will always have to download both images and text to be able display the page, he/she can always save it for later use regardless of any scripts you might run.
  2. I'm not sure. In any case, I would recomend using the application Serious Samurize simultaneously with Windowblinds to do that. It can do a lot more and has more options of configuration.
  3. I hope you're not expecting anyone to take you seriously after that little comment. For the record, every time you consume meat from an animal which is high on the domestic foodchain people will die because of the waste of proteins which is caused by this ineffective way of creating food. Maybe you should care. Another interesting observation is that gluttony is a deadly sin (I think. Don't quote me on that), so 95% of the western world will do me company in hell. After all, I did eat that bag of chips and that bar of chocolate yesterday, and if that's not gluttony I don't know what is.
  4. So is it disturbing that the public school system has a cirriculum that kids are *required* to learn? That's forcing children what to believe just as much as this case. Children should be taught about all major religions, purely for the educational value. There is however a difference between teaching children that Christians believe in God, and teaching children that God exists. This seems obvious enough. I'm not familiar with the school system where you live, so I have no idea what they must and must not learn there. . That sounds pretty absolute to me. And even if it isn't; So what is it? Are things right or wrong? Your entire post hinges on this one decision, and so far, you've been shown to support both sides. Don't be ridiculous. The first quote concerns "natural rights", IE, what is right and what is not from a philosophical perspective. The second concerns my personal opinion, which I do not consider to be the "One True". I'm arrogant, but not that arrogant. My personal opinion on this matter is that anyone who takes upon himself the right to choose which religion may not be taught to others is an idiot, for lack of a better word. The judge in question qualifies. Christianity is currently the leading religion in the western world, but contrary to what many seem to think this does not make it any better than any other religion. Maybe my version of the bible is outdated, but I seem to recall a great flood and the death of all that lives except a few that were spared? Interesting example though. Letting a child know that he needs to worship you, or else you shall drown him, clearly gives you the right to do so.
  5. Like the others said, you cannot get PMS. However, you still have hormones regardless of gender. As a teenager these tend to affect you quite a lot, and can cause a lot of mood swings. To put it in RS terms, "Hormones pwn you". I wouldn't worry about it though, since it's completely natural. It just affects some more than others.
  6. If you get to force your child to spend a lot of time in church honoring a god who commited genocide against his people because they turned away from him, then yes, you get to force your child to worship nature just aswell instead. Having a judge decide what is and what isn't good religion is sick, even though I find it disturbing to "teach" children what to believe to start with.
  7. I hope that's not US dollars, because if it is, overpriced is an understatement :| --- To original poster: For the record, I don't see what you are trying to archieve by asking people to post good components. But if that's what you want: CPU: I would get an AMD64, with a price that fits into your budget. 3000+, 3200+ or 3500+ are what I would recomend, as the faster versions are not worth it. You should make sure the processor uses socket 939. Memory/RAM: 1024 of any fairly known brand. Unless you intend to do serious overclocking you do not need expensive memory sticks. Heck, even if you decide to overclocker you could always use a divider and the memory wouldn't be much of a problem. Graphics: Once again, it depends on budget. I would recomend either a Radeon X800XL (or possibly an XT), or a Geforce 6800GT. There are faster cards, but those are obviously most expensive and the difference is not large enough to justify the increase in price. Make sure to get PCI-E. Harddrive: Don't bother with Raid and HI-Speed drives. Get a few 200GB 7200RPM drives and that'll do just fine, if you even need that much space. Brands hardly matter at all, anyone who tells you otherwise is basing it on subjective information. The days of the IBM Deathstars are behind us. Motherboard: Get one of a fairly known brand, and make sure it has integrated sound aswell as Network interface. Whether you need 1000mb speed is up to you, but most people do not. Optical units: I would recomend getting any DVD-Reader basically, because the quality isn't that different between brands. Can't go wrong with an LG though. For a DVD-burner, I would go with a NEC-3540. Cooler: Go with the flow. A Zalman 7700-AlCu would be my recomendation. The Cu version will make your processor a degree or two cooler, but it will also weight twice the amount, which is way above the recomended specifications of the 939 socket. To sum it: Will these recomendations lead to the fastest computer on the market? No, they were written with cost in mind. A computer with the hardware I've listed above should not cost above $1.500, and it will run any new game excellently. There is no reason to spend more than that on a computer unless you consider the performance of your computer to be a hobby. However, you can't just buy these components and expect them to work. You need to look out for incompabilites such as different ports and motherboard limits. I would suggest picking a story, assembling a computer, and then posting the setup here and ask for opinions.
  8. Browse this board or use search. This question is asked almost every day.
  9. You don't want to spend to much money on it, yet you are prepared to pay for a 15k RPM drive? :P I don't know much about RAID controllers, but you should look up reviews for them before you buy one. Some controllers let the CPU do the calculations required to stripe the drives, and obviously this is not very effective, so you obviously want to watch out for those.
  10. For the record, the computer in question does indeed seem to have both PCI and PCI-E ports. I wouldn't buy it. There's no way near enough info about it to know if it's worth the money or not.
  11. Depends on the RAID controller and what type of performance you need really. But personally I would go for more space, since the performance difference isn't near enough to compensate for the extra cost. Also, the performance gain will be mostly noticable for encoding, filetransfer and booting of operating systems. It will not affect games much if at all.
  12. X-Wing Vs. TIE-Fighter. Too bad this box doesn't have a gameport so I can't use the joystick. Meh.

I've read some of his stuff, but IMO it gets old rather quickly. There's nothing wrong with ranting, but I don't find it particularly entertaining either.
  14. For the power supply, don't bother too much with wattage, as it means next to nothing. Ask people who have used particular brands how well they work, and read various reviews. I would recomend something from Antec, Hiper, Forton or OCZ, but I guess it depends on what brands the particular store has. My point is simply that wattage means very little, since there are so many ways to measure it. Besides, stability is a lot more important. The average computer does not use more than 250W.
  15. Have you chmoded the actual uploading script to 755?
  16. The computer you're linking to has a very slow graphics card and should not be used for gaming. For the record, Doom 4 does not exist.
  17. This has been posted/discussed several times before. Locked.
  18. To be honest, that sounds expensive for a low-end box. A 1.8 Duron and a GF 5200 won't last long, and we're still talking a fair bit of money. I would look elsewhere.
  19. Specs aren't the most important thing. Battery time and weight are. Believe me, you don't want a heavy laptop that only lasts an hour or two without charging. But yes, as long as you don't do any high-end gaming that sounds like a good system to me.
  20. It varies. Some are yellow and some are green. I've never seen any green ones used in professional tennis though, but that could just be because I hardly ever watch it.
  21. Linking Park is pop. Regardless of whether that has become an insult in todays society or not.
  22. Reboot into safe mode. Run Adaware and remove everything it finds. Do to same with Spybot. And while you're at it, proceed to scan with your antivirus in Safe mode aswell. And stop surfing insecure websites on IE :?
  23. If you actually do have a static IP the above solutions will not work. The only way to get a "real" static IP changed is by contacting your provider.
  24. Overpriced junk. The graphic cards are horribly outdated for a high-end system, heck, or even a mid-end one. I would never buy that system.
  25. Go VMWare! http://www.vmware.com/ Basically you use it to emulate another computer, so that you can run Linux inside a program in Windows. It will be a bit slower since another operating system is running in the background, but it's great.
