  1. Have you ever considered that the unpopularity of PvP worlds is not because of the structure of the PvP worlds themselves? What if it has something to do with the community? When PvP worlds were first announced, people went crazy. They exclamed that everything in Runescape would be changed forever: the community, the economy, etc. People thought it would be one of the best updates in history. But alas, after the first few days, it was obvious the PvP worlds were unpopular. The economy didn't change, besides a raise in some combat items. The community didn't change either: Some skillers tried out the new PvP worlds out of curiosity, and got to feel what it was like to be a pker for a little while. Skillers still hate pkers though. The skillers left PvP worlds early, but what about the pkers? They left shortly after the skillers, leaving the average PvP world with a drooping 400 population. But wait, there are two worlds with 1200+ population! Surely this means PvP is alive and well? No. Let's examine something. What is PvP nowadays? Runners, safers, teleporters, one-itemers, three-itemers, and lurers. That about sums it up. The worst part is, if you try to be a real pker, you get killed in a split second. My thoughts: What was left of the real pkers, the very little amount, left when the wilderness was removed. Now, a year later, we are left with all those mentioned above. What does this lead to? Frustration. People fear of losing 50k+ items these days! How ridiculous. Why, when staking existed, people were prepared to lose hundreds of millions! This new generation of players cannot even fight the most challenging boss in the whole of Runescape: Other players! Why, we have been reduced to nothing but skillers who boast about their glorious achievements in GWD. Wait, why are we praising you? Because you killed a computer a hundred times, with basically no chance of dying? Admit it, if you're smart with NPCs, you will find virtually no challenge in ANY boss in Runescape. The community has changed.
  2. I wouldn't doubt it. Most every one of those new banners has something hidden in it.
  3. Even better, everyone + 1/3 of tip.it versus 2/3 of tip.it. That would probably be pretty even. And for the guys who still aren't getting it: When you have large numbers, like over 150, you shouldn't even try to organise them. Unless you are in a very deciplined clan, there will always be those few idiots who choose, for some reason, not to listen to the leaders. The leaders that led you during MSSW4 knew that organisation was impossible. And please, do not insult our experience. We were chosen because of our experience. Ts_stormrage has been to the MSSWs in the past, and has experience running a clan for over 2-3 years. I myself have been to all four MSSWs, so I obviously had the advantage of knowing what to specifically expect, and I predicted right. Bsing is also part of huge wars like this. Just like organising hundreds of troops, controlling the bsing is just an impossible task. Generals can scream all they want "STOP BSING!!!" in their clan chats, but it still goes on. Bsing is a natural thing, there are always those idiots who think its funny to kill their own teammates (like in Halo, there are teamkillers). If you get bsed please don't go into a blind rage. Just suck it up: did you not come to a war and expect to live? Third, and finally, don't expect a challenge. MSSWs aren't 'real' wars, they're all about who can advertise the most. One team decides to recruit hundreds of troops while the other fan sites fall behind because all the troops are taken. Result: A slaughter. RSC slaughtered everyone in the first two MSSWs, tip.it decided to be the recruiter and won the last two MSSWs.
  4. I think the original idea of PvP worlds would be clans controlling territories; defending varrock castle, ravaging the countryside, etc. But people forgot what PvP is now: scared little players worrying about their pixels. I do hope that they come out with these safe PvP worlds, that would be awesome.
  5. Watch JaGeX come and do something to us :ohnoes: Are tip.iters still there?
  6. They should make teleblock f2p, period. Ancient magic freeze spells should also be available to f2p like the new ancient magic spells are available to p2p. Perhaps the new staff wouldn't have to be required (because then you would have to make the staff p2p), but something just as hard. And maybe raise the requirements +15 for each spell, and totally make barrage unavailable (ex. ice burst would be 85), just to make it even less overpowered.
  7. Tip.iters took control of w62, ravaged the streets, and killed hundreds of innocents. The deaths overloaded the server and runescape crashed.
  8. I think the problem here is the MSSW newbies expected a huge war, with hundreds of men on each side. Well here's the truth: It doesn't happen like that.
  9. the reason y some people didn't have 39 was because we couldn't get any all the people who had them stocked had either left or run out and the forums clearly said any green cape was good. and several of us did have the 39 and full steel when we were piled Yes I did notice there was a lack of people giving out supplies. We had a lot last MSSW. The Fally massacre 2 was fun. Defintely a great afterwar.
  10. Let me say a few things: You should NOT have expected a challenge. The last war was not a challenge at all, rather, it was a slaughter. Any of you newbies to the MSSWs: Know this, this isn't really a war. It's more like whoever can muster 500+ troops wins. It's a fun battle, and you shouldn't take this seriously. The other sites fought honorably (and kudos for Sal's for holding off a good strategy for a while), and they lost. Tip.it won, yes, but it does not mean tip.it is better as a fan site. Also, for your MSSW newbies: Bsing is part of war. Don't go into a wild rage if you get piled. Remember: All you lose is rune scimmy and full steel. Yes, you should be a little mad that your own team just killed you, but remember you are in a war and you should expect to die. Also, a little tip: Try to wear the full uniform. Most of the bsing I saw was against people who either appeared white on the minimap (lack of 39 cape), or did not have the full steel.
  11. Brief summary of the war: Under ts stormrage, tip.it decided to arrive early on the battlefield. Of course, just like last year, the second the entire army crossed the ditch, there was mass confusion. People lost stormrage, who ran (instead of walked), and it was just like a good ol' deathmarch (more like a deathrun). Well, the tip.it army, seemingly scattered across the wilderness, was constantly pounded by rune clans and rangers. Despite all that, hundreds of battle-ready tip.iters arrived on at the battleground. But there was no one in sight. Suddenly, reports came in of PC death dotting in the west. Stormrage got a bunch of troops following him, and attacked PC near the member's wilderness gate. At first, it appeared PC had the upper hand, as dozens emerged from the death dot to attack tip.iters. But PC could not keep up with the constant flow of tip.iters pouring into the battlefield, having heard the call. While PC was getting hammered, another rune clan attacked both armies from the south. But after about 5 minutes, all enemies were destroyed on the site. Right after that, we were told to rush back to the main battlegrounds, because Sals had begun their attack from the south. Again, hundreds of tip.iters poured southward, picking off Sal's army. Sal's had a good strategy though - they stayed in the single combat area, and it took longer to kill all of them, even though they had less than the PC army. After a few minutes, it was obvious who had won the war. Both of the major enemy armies had been salughtered: tip.it stood the victor once again. After that, I organised a falador raid and got about 70 tip.iters on me. It was quite fun, we piled random people in multicombat zones. The tip.it army had split up into smaller (yet still powerful) factions raiding runescape. For the next half hour, tip.it had taken control of world 62, piling innocents in cold blood and picking off the surviving fansites. My own army passed some of the other tip.it divisions three times, it was very fun. Then we decided to go into the wilderness and see if we could kill some runers. Unfortunately, I ordered a pile on a 113 and didn't realize he was part of a 15-man clan. A 102 mage started blasting me, and I had to run while my confused and bewildered army tried to keep up with me and shake the mage. I arrived in edgeville with no food and 50hp, still carrying my full rune and skulled (I din't want to lose that because it is hard to buy).
  12. they really only have 5,3,2,3,1? Yes, observed them myself.
  13. Armies 1 hour before event: Tip.it: Hundreds Sals: ~60 (biggest threat, and growing fast) Zybez: 5 Rune crypt: 3 Pure Community: 2 Rune village: 3 RuneHQ: 1
  14. Come one, come all! In just about 3 hours the world may start getting locked up.
  15. Still around 15 people here, most of them hanging out in my cc. If anyone wants to join the pre-rally come on by. ;)
  16. 13 hours away and 11 greencapes stand at edgeville bank.
  17. There appears to be a very nasty glitch... players can still attack eachother inside banks, as long as they follow them inside the bank still attacking them.
  18. Like the frozen door at GWD? Or the dozens of other locked doors around runescape? Mithril door, mind door, GE trapdoor... so many more. Actually, the mithril door would seem more likely.
  19. Many thanks, I appreciate your decision. I am dedicated to updating this guide now, since it is fully complete. Infact, just tonight, I discovered a new method that has grown in popularity... I'll be editing that into this guide now actually!
  20. I hope you've stopped getting in childish arguements with other newspapers. If you have, then you have my full respects and I welcome you back to the general board.
  21. Yeah, the standard 'criticism' for a guide today (if nothing else can be found wrong) is 'nice guide, 9/10... 10/10 if you add more pics). We don't need pics to show us which square to click on, or even of the inventory, thank you very much. Most of us are quite good at recognizing what a 'glory ammy' is without seeing the gold circle and purple dot. Some of us with slower loading connections have issues with them, especially when we're trying to train range while looking at guides... *ahem* Amen. When I was making this guide, I was very careful to make sure that the guide turned out to be a general, yet acurate corporeal beast guide. I don't want it to be swamped up in details. Little details about can be figured out by players who actually go out and fight it. I mentioned all the important strategies, and that is all you really need. And, yes, on the subject of pictures... I hate guides overloaded with pictures. As you said inventory and equipment pictures are quite unnecessary. Just getting a rough estimate at the moment is quite hard. The beast has been out for weeks now, and still people are trying to get an acurate measure of how rare each of the sigils are. I can tell you now though you'll be getting an elixir approximately 1/75-100 kills. I've done around 200 kills and gotten 2 elixirs (no sigils), and I've used some information from my friends as well. Sigils, just to give you a very, very rough estimate, appears to be 1/200-400. The main thing people are looking for profit-wise is a fast sigil drop on ls. Basically, if you get a sigil drop alone (from ls), your bank value just shot up 100M. Sigils are around 100M street price (not GE price, that is lower). You can junk trade an elys sigil for 130M.
  22. I suppose I'll be handing out capes too. I'll get about 100 of them tonight. Remember everyone, if you don't know the actual time just come 3 hours early anyway! I'm somewhat curious why dustin decided to make it 'meal times' for all the major timezones with the time. GMT is 6pm, that's around dinner. America would be having lunch too. Next time I would suggest something 2 hours later, that's only 9PM for the latest time.
  23. I agree with what you said about firemaking and smithing. Woodcutting is useless profit-wise. Fishing is OK, depending on what fish you are doing. Slayer can be very profitable. Many high level slayer monsters drop rare items worth millions. Runecrafting can get you over 250k profit an hour.
