  1. I think jagex figures that half the people that sign up to play runescape are lying and are under 13. And what can jagex do to stop them? They have no idea if they're lying or not. Because of this there are a large number of players below, and even well below the age of 12. So jagex makes their censors like their hosting a bunch of six year olds- which is a smart idea because they will also get the thumbs-up with parents for censoring so many words that six-year olds should know yet ;) .
  2. Randoms usually come quite often if you have stood in a place for a long time and there are a lot of people on top of you or surrounding you. Jagex detects this as a huge autoer mass(autoers are usally in groups, i.e. chopping a few yew trees) and sends in the randoms. It also may occur when you are doing the same thing over and over, and then suddenly you do something different. An example of this would be going over and over the monkey course, teleporting to edgeville, restocking, and teleporting back. But as you click the teleport button for ape atoll you are suddenly thrust into a small room with a girl with a colorful fashion style. Perhaps you were in a situation like this when the sudden increase of randoms occured? Though since 2005 I have noticed an increase in the amount of randoms per hour. :|
  3. I have a question regarding player owned houses. How do you start to build a dungeon under a throne room? I've tried using the trapdoor hotspot to the right of the thrones to build an oubliette, but that didn't work. I also tried the quadruple trapdoor hotspot, but that didn't work either. Then I came to think that you have to actually build the trapdoors to have access to making an oubliette, but I don't have the levels yet(getting to 71 though) to actually test that out. Does anyone know how to make an oubliette under a throne room?
  4. The majority of the answers to this question would obviously be "dungeon." I, too, will be using these additional rooms for my dungeon. Thank you jagex \
  5. The least you could do to try and hold up tip.it's reputation for having a mature community is not post things like that. Obviously sam didn't know, there's no need for those types of words.
  6. All my skills are above 55, so when a new skills comes out I will immeadiately start leveling it up to 55, and if I enjoy it past that(like hunter, which is 73 now). I can't stand to have a skill below 55.
  7. In one point of the barbarian training you must set a boat on fire, blah blah blah. Anyway, it says I must collect something called "chewed bones." When I looked at the knowledge base, all I found was "they can be found in the ancient cavern." Are they saying monsters drop the bones? Which type of monsters? What is the rarity of the drop? Just making sure you actually get it from killing monsters, I don't want to waste my time on them for nothing.
  8. Taken from the recent update thread page 2. Wow, looks like it takes soo long now. Jagex would not dare change the rate of mining with this new animation at the risk of hundreds of thousands of angry miners. I'll be testing it out soon and I expect it will be just the same. People, this isn't the apocalypse. I actually find the new animation to be a lot more realistic, a lot like the fishing animation update a while back(all they need is woodcutting now).
  9. You mean full helmets? Anyways I was sort of hoping they would be something like the designs of the other full helmets, but in the red dragon color and a huge horn on top. :P
  10. Yes I was also a bit dissapointed in the color, shouldn't be a little more purplish-blue? I don't want to be killing silver dragons!
  11. He wasn't whining, and of course people think about getting good drops, that's one of the main reasons people actually fight monsters! They're not being greedy. Respect other people's posts; he neither used caps or any form of offensive language- that is something most people can't do when ranting about a monster's drops. Think about who the real 'whiners' are- you. I totally agree qeltar. It does make sence that the ice damage should do mage attack, and not melee, but I can't believe jagex increased the amount of damage it does. Keeping something in the game that doesn't appeal to most players is just plain stupid. Jagex needs to fix this(along with the string 'x' :P ).
  12. *points to sig*
  13. And if they want 99 and aren't allowed to be a member?... Then they're crazy, it'll take hundreds of hours! Hiring runners and doubling nats is a lot faster. They would drive themselves insane getting 99. Think about it too, 91 is only the halfway mark to 99. You only have 6.5M of the required 13M experience for 99. To repeat all of that to get to 91 is just ... insane. If any f2per has 99 rc and has never been a member in their life I congratulate you greatly, that is truly amazing if you have done so.
  14. That about sums up my five paragraph response I was about to post. ^ Maybe it would work if the code didn't pop up if you're in the Wilderness/Combat. After all, I don't know of any autoers that do auto-combat (but they're might be). And maybe the code wouldn't pop up in areas where Random's never pop up anyways (like in Castlewars, Pest Control, Duel Arena, and, of course, the Fight Caves). There's still a problem then. There will always be a never ending war between jagex and the autoers. Jagex constantly releases new updates to stop the autoers; such as the pinball random event(no minimap for color reference and you have to click while the screen is moving), autoer-detection programs, ect. Try as they might, though, they'll never totally eliminate autoers. And try as they might, the sweetshops halfway across the world can't stop jagex from giving up stopping them. If jagex were to introduce this new code, the autoers would simply find a way around it and continue on.
  15. That about sums up my five paragraph response I was about to post. ^
  16. That entirely wrong. I don't think the level of enjoyment depends on your level of intelligence. Many not-so-smart people enjoy the game much more than smart people, and vice versa.
  17. Does anyone know the maxium range attack bonus outfit? I'm not entirely sure, but I think it would be robin hat, robin boots, and full black d hide(including vambs). I'm not sure if any amulet/necklace provides any range bonus, I am also not sure on the rings. The weapon won't be included because I want to change that in combat, so just exclude the weapon bonus. -Thanks!
  18. TET could think of an event that involves just standing there for hours  . A trivia game seems like a nice idea, you don't exactly have to move to answer a question. Of course just a trivia game would make a rather boring event. Perhaps something like a trawler or cwars in front of that, then give away a mil or so in trivia.
  19. 99 rc? If you ever acheive 91 rc and you're f2p, there's definately something wrong in your head. Get membership so you can double nats, for god's sake don't waste your time making 20k an hour in world 16 to get 99.
  20. Wow that's alot of digits, is that the stage where you die in real life, go to heaven, play runescape, and quit again?
  21. Updated the main post with lots of suggestions. :)
  22. Wow this is an awesome discovery if this theory actually proves to be true. I just had a pinball random while runecrafting yesterday. I tagged the fire one first and received 5 rubies. I'll try to tag the air one next if I ever get the random event again and see if I get diamonds. I wonder if this is just some bug or if jagex is secretly rewarding us for not autoing? Think about it, you can control which pillar you tag first, all you have to do is wait for it to dissapear on one you don't want, I don't think there is an autoing program that can do that.
  23. I see most people are voting for the level 126's, but I'm going to realy break the battle down here. Ok, so the max hit of a level 3 would obviously be 1. With their extremely low attack level I'm guessing for every eight 0's they would hit, they would hit a 1. So every eight failed attack or so, they would sucessfully squeeze in a 1. Ok, so the 126's can obviously hit way more than that and more often. With just punching or kicking, I'm sure their max is around 20 or so(I'm not entirely sure though). They will also hit this quite often, and with level 3's only having 10hp they will one hit most of them. Say every eight one hits(10's), they would hit something lower than that(1-9). If you placed all 129 of these players in a multicombat area, all the level 3's could gang up on one 126. With hits about one second or so apart, using the 8 to 1 hit ratio, the level 3's could kill the first 126 in about 11 seconds. At this time, still using the one second hitting, the three 126's could kill approximately 29 level 3's. Now since the first 126 is down, the remaining 97 level 3's could focus on a second 126. Using the 1 to 8 ratio, the level 3's could now kill the second one in approximately 15 seconds. During this time though, the two 126's could kill around 26 level 3's. Now since only one 126 remains, the remaining 71 level 3's could focus on this last one. Using the 1 to 8 ratio, the level 3's could now kill the last one in approximately 19 seconds. During this time though, the last 126 could kill around 17 level 3's. And there you have it, the level 3's win with 54 alive and 6 injured.
  24. Thanks  The drops don't look that bad. I know there are chaos dwarves nearby, so it could prove to be a great place to train quietly with that anchovy pizza loot.
  25. Which metal of animated armour should I kill for warrior guilds tickets? The most common I have seen are mithril and rune. You should stick with either black or mithril. I prefer black because it is easy to buy from shops cheap, mithril you might find a little trouble. Addy and rune are too high level and hit high on you. How often and high do mithril or rune animated armours hit on me (i have 71 defence)? Would I need food to efficiently kill them? Well I'm 67 defense and their maxium hit is a 7, so you shouldn't really have to eat too much food. Remember there are cheap cheese potatoes in the guild that heal 12(I think). Should I halberd them safely (I have a dragon hally) or should I just whip them? Halberding depends on the previous question and how hard and often they hit. Hallies are slower, but yes you can hally them. I would prefer whipping them though, as I said earlier the food is cheap and always seems to be in stock. In the armor generator you can hide behind one of the four corners and hally the armor safely. Does the lvl (56 and 76 I think) of the cyclopses affect the drop rate of defenders? No I think their drop rates are both the same. I've always seen people go after the lower leveled ones alot more, so I can only assume the drop rates are the same. And finally the often-debated question: Ring of Wealth or no ring of wealth for the best chance of a defender drop? Ring of wealth helps only slightly with tokens, but I don't think it helps with defender drops. They're very random, so the ring of wealth wouldn't have much effect anyway.
