  1. Yes Autocast with a staff set on Defensive style. The exp will then be split between Magic and Defense. You can read about it in Tip It's magic guide Hope this helps
  2. Then I suggest that you switch to Crumble Undead instead of Fire Bolt. Crumble averages about 39 per cast, Fire Bolt is about 34 per cast. I always liked casting at the 4 zombies in the Varrock sewer ladder room. It's a perfectly safe multi-combat zone so you will almost always have a target. It's kind of fun to be attacking 4 zombies at once. They will line up behind each other or next to each other across the water and you just nuke away until they die. It does require more clicking though. Hope this helps.
  3. It depends if you are P2P or F2P, if you want HP exp, if you want good drops, and if you want to auto-cast. If you are F2P and want HP exp then you could try any reasonably high level monster. With high level monsters you should get a tiny increase in your long term average hit because fewer "last" hits are wasted. So, try White knights and above. If you are F2P and don't care about HP exp then try the elemental wizards that are south of Fally. If you hit the fire wizard with a fire spell then, AFAIK, he won't be hurt and you can keep on auto-casting. If you are F2P and want good loot then try Moss Giants, Ice Giants, or Lesser Demons. If you are F2P and want 100% safe casting then try the Port Sarim jail or cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers into the 4 zombie ladder room. If you are F2P and want the best Chaos rune based mage exp then cast Crumble Undead on the zombies in the Varrock sewer ladder room. Cast across the water from the key room. Fire bolt averages about 34 mage exp per cast. Crumble Undead averages about 39 mage exp per cast. Hope this helps
  4. That's the half that you get from the Black-arm gang. So, join the Phoenix gang to get the other half. Hope this helps
  5. You have gotten several good answers so far. A summary is: Fire bolt averages about 34 mage exp per cast. According to the Tip It Family Crest guide, P2P "Chaos" gauntlets will increase the experience and damage done with Bolt spells. Fire Bolt can be autocast Fire bolt can be used on almost any monster Crumble Undead averages about 39 mage exp per cast. Crumble Undead can be autocast with a P2P slayer staff. Crumble Undead can be used on "Undead" type monsters. So, if you are F2P, then Crumble Undead will give more exp but requires more clicking. If you are P2P and have the required slayer level (55) then you could use the Slayer staff. Or, if you are P2P and have done the Family Crest quest, then you could cast with the "Chaos" gauntlets. Hope this helps
  6. True. No Because, Crumble Undead is not in the same category as the Bolt spells. Fire bolt averages about 34 mage exp per cast. Crumble Undead averages about 39 mage exp per cast. Hope this helps
  7. Exactly right. Gem cutting and crafting amulets do give good exp, but it's hard to get many thousands of gems if you want to raise crafting high. Better to rasie crafting with Silver, Cow hides, or even Clay. Hope this helps
  8. It would take you about 11,200 Bronze arrows if you don't pick up, 2800 if you do. It would take you about 11,000 Iron arrows if you don't pick up, 2700 if you do. It would take you about 9,800 Steel arrows if you don't pick up, 2450 if you do. Hope this helps
  9. Well, you would need level 43 for the full range of protect prayers. You gain 1 combat level for every 8 prayer levels that you raise so, raising your prayer to 43 would raise your combat 5 or 6 levels. So, if you don't mind the additional 5-6 levels and have the time and/or money, and you want the protect ability, then raise it. Hope this helps
  10. IIRC, there is the sapphire respawn in the Giant Spider mound in the deep north central wildy. It's about level 46 way north of the cooking guild. You could world hop to collect the sapphires but the spiders and PKers could get annoying. Otherwise, you could look in the Crafting market forum for sellers. Hope this helps
  11. I take it that you are more interested in fast exp instead of good drops? If so, then consider that you earn exp according to 4x the hit that you do. So to earn fast exp you want to be hitting something constantly while minimizing your non-productive time. To be hitting something/monster constantly requires 2 things: frequent respawns and "low" defense. To minimize your non-productive time (stopping to eat, stopping to bank, etc) requires a monster with "low" attack or "low" strength that can't hurt you much. If you put all of the above together, then the kind of monster that you want to train on for fast exp is a frequently respawning lower level monster. Many players have the impression that as they level upward they are supposed to fight higher level monsters. While that is true to some degree (especially for drops), it ultimately doesn't lead to fast exp. I suggest that you fight monsters that are 40 to 70 levels lower than you. That list could include AL-Kharid palace guards, city guards, pirates, scorpions, spiders, zombies, ghosts, etc. My favorites are the level 26 pirates in the non-ice part of the Blurite cave. They have 23 HP and give 92 exp per kill. There are about 9 or so that spawn in their cave so you will almost always have one ready to kill. A full load of lobsters would last me for many days. Fighting those guys was just constant slaughter. There are many other monsters that you could use but the general rule is: Low levels give fast exp and High levels give good loot. Hope this helps
  12. Ah, I finally found it here... Hope this helps
  13. Before Jagex "improved" their site by adding the Knowledge base, they used to give the specific port numbers in the Technical Help section of their web site. :D Hope this helps
  14. I think you meant to say Fire Bolt. Strike spells use Mind runes but Bolt spells use Chaos runes Well it's faster than Fire Strike (19) and Barely faster than Curse (29) but slower than Crumble Undead (39) (that also uses Chaos runes) F2P doesn't have much of a choice. Blue Wizard top, Blue Wizard hat, Amulet of magic, and Fire staff is standard gear. That partly depends on how many you buy from each seller. Look in the magic marketplace forum to select sellers with the best prices. You will need at least 7 million gp to reach 80 with 54000 Fire Bolts. You will need over 6 million if you did it with 47000 Crumble Undeads. You would only need about 1.3 million if you did it with 64000 Curses instead. You didn't say if you wanted to pick up the drops. If you want pure exp with no drops at all then try the scorpions in the Al-Kharid mine. Cast from up high on the rim so they can't get you. Or better yet, cast on the scorpions on Crandor Island. No-one ever hunts those things there. There is a safe spot behind their SE plant. Or, you could try the white knights in the screen/torture room in the second floor of their castle. They are not aggressive and you can cast from behind the screens. You can even do 3 at once. You could try lesser demons or moss giants if you wanted to get some decent drops. The ones on Crandor Island will probably be more available. Blurite cave Ice giants would probably be harder since there are ice warriors around them. I got to level 81 magic in F2P useing Curse and Crumble Undead while casting from the Varrock sewer key room into the 4 zombie ladder room. Hope this helps
  15. Well, almost anyplace where the monsters can't reach you will work. The trick is to always fail when you cast it so you can keep on using the same monster(s). I always liked to use a multicombat place so I'll always have a target. So I usually cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water in to the 4 zombie ladder room. But you could use the Port Sarim jail, the varrock palace red monk under the stairs, ducks on the river, caged lesser, scorpions in the Al-kharid desert mine, etc. There are lots of places that will work. Hope this helps
  16. Well, for F2P crafting we have Silver Tiaras give 52.5 exp each Silver holy symbols give 50 exp each Hard leather give 35 each Clay bowls give 33 each Gold amulet give 30 each Leather chaps give 27 each When you can get into the crafting guild you can do leather and clay there. Otherwise, you can spend your time walking between the Al-kharid bank and the tanner or furnace. I suggest that you craft leather as you walk. But crafting in F2P requires a lot of effort and the only real payback is to be able to craft strength and power amulets. (I have level 75 F2P crafting btw) If you want to raise a skill that will let you make some money, then I suggest mining iron or coal or perhaps woodcutting instead. Hope this helps
  17. IIRC, just north of the center of the wildy around level 38. They guard the chaos rune spawn point sorta between/south of the 2 lava sections. Hope this helps
  18. Well, I trained to level 100 in F2P on Pirates, lol. In the front non-ice part of the Blurite caves is an area where about 9 pirates spawn. They are low enough where they never hurt me so I never needed any food at all. There are 9 (os so) of them so I almost always had another to kill as soon as a finished one. That way it was just constant slaughter for hours and hours with no breaks needed at all. You get exp per hit that you do and not based directly on the monster's levels, so a constant supply of low level monsters worked well. Drops are mostly iron junk. Hope this helps.
  19. What gear are you wearing and what is your magic attack stat?
  20. Yes. With a full helm, plate, legs, and kite shield of any metal you get a -65 magic attack stat. That is enough to always fail when casting a Curse. To save on runes you could wield an earth staff and green dragonhide vambraces as well. You could also wear the stronghold boots, too. Yes, always 29 mage exp. The red monk under the Varrock palace stairs is said to recover quickly from Curses. But, I always liked casting from the key room in the Varrock sewers into the 4 zombie ladder room. Hope this helps
  21. If you do not pick up, about 56800 If you do pick up, about 14200 This post explains how to do the calculation. Hope this helps
  22. Maybe I missed it, but the time data posted fits the function: Respawn_time = 1386 - Players/3 Hope this helps
  23. Very nice data but, it's probably easier to just use the formula: Seconds_to_respawn = 1386 - Players/3 Hope this helps
  24. The Rimmington general store is good to use as well.
