  1. It depends on the defenses of the monster that you are fighting. If you are fighting a chain mail wearing enemy (city guards) then a Rune Long sword (with good stab ability) is good. If you are fighting an enemy wearing nothing, leather, or robes then a Rune scimmy (with a good fast slash ability) is good. If you are fighting Ice giants (vulnerable to crush attacks) then a Baxe or R2h might work well. For most F2P monsters a Rune scimmy works well. You should also use Strength potions as well. Hope this helps
  2. For F2P, Barbarian village. Dunno for P2P though.
  3. No Fire Strike averages about 19 magic exp per cast. Curse always gives 29 per cast. The runes cost about the same. Very true. Hope this helps
  4. That partly depends on your available runes, cash available, Runecrafting level, and P2P or F2P. (Failed) Cursing is a very cost effective way to raise magic. Keep in mind that you need decent stuff to Hi-alch before you can make money. If you just want to make money then mine Iron and/or Coal. A full load of Iron could sell for 2500 gp A full load of coal could sell for 4400 gp If you smelt the Iron and Coal together into steel bars then you could sell each bar for 550 go or so. So 28 steel bars could sell for around 15000 gp. Use the Tip It smithing market forum to find buyers. Hope this helps

Close to level 32 Fire Strike is the best that you can do with Minds. If you want to speed up your Magic training then switch to using Body runes. With failed Cursing you will earn exp faster than with Fire strike. Every Curse will always give you 29 magic exp. Fire strike averages about 18 per cast. So, 604 Body runes would have gotten you to level 35. Hope this helps
  6. Read Tip It's Ranging guide The main thing is to shoot from behind fences, tables, low walls, etc. Also, if you pick up your arrows, you can get about 4 times as many shots out of them. Hope this helps
  7. If you don't pick up, you could go from 70 to 72 If you do pick up, then you could go from 70 to 79 I always liked the lessers on the top of Crandor Island. They are usually not over hunted and are almost always available. There are safe spots to the North and SE of their wander area. If you cast a Curse on them first, you will "pull" them over to near your safe spot. After you kill one, your arrows will be in the loot pile so it makes picking them up very easy. You can even kill 2 at once if you alternate your arrow shots. Hope this helps
  8. You have gotten several good answers and a summary is: Wear any full metal armor (full helm, plate , legs, kite shield, dragonhide vambraces, and stronghold boots or better) You want your magic attack to be -65 or worse to always fail when casting Curse. You will always get the full 29 magic exp. Curse is a very effective way to raise magic cheaply. Good places to curse include the red monk under the Varrock palace stairs, the 4 zombies in the Varrock sewer ladder room (cast from the key room across the water), port Sarim jail, etc. Hope this helps
  9. There are 23 Yew trees in the F2P world. They are located: 4 NW of Rimmington 3 south of Fally 1 north of Port Sarim 4 between Draynor Village and Lumbridge 1 in the Lumbridge graveyard 1 south of Varrock 3 around the Earth altar 1 next to the NE Varrock church 3 behind the Varrock palace 2 SW of the Edgeville bank You can see all of these trees by going to Jagex's official world map Click on Overview, Key, Next Page, and then Rare Trees. Now, keep in mind that the very best cutting spots (Edgeville, Varrock palace, Draynor, Fally) are likely to heavily used and you may not be able to get many yew logs. So, If that becomes a problem then try some of the lesser known spots. You could try the single tree near the Varrock church and world hop. Or try the single tree in the Lumbridge graveyard and use the Lumbridge roof bank. Hope this helps
  10. Well, you only need 1 monster if you do it right. Namely, you want to fail everytime that you cast. If you wear full armor of any metal then you can get your magic attack stat to -65. That's enough to always fail Curse when casting. You will always get the full 29 mage exp when casting it. You could wear full helm, chest plate, legs, kite shield, green vambraces, stronghold boots, and an Earth staff. Any metal from Bronze to Rune will work equally well. Try casting from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water into the 4 zombie ladder room. It's multi-combat so you will almost always have a target available. No monsters spawn there and the zombies can't reach you there. It's a very safe spot. Hope this helps
  11. IIRC, Shantay teleports you to a spot just outside the jail cells near the sleeping guard. Did you know that shantay is also the secret 9th F2P bank?
  12. Well, at higher levels it just takes forever to make a level, so you tend to learn how to do it efficiently. For example, to efficiently make my next mining level requires me to mine about 9600 iron ore. Well, if I do a little bit of reading on Tip It and other places then I can learn about smart things to do and make that "suddenly" happen a lot sooner... Unless you're the guy selling the item... Yeah, well I guess that it all comes down to how you enjoy playing the game. My play time is very limited so I tend to want to make the most of my time. Ty. Well, for me, I wanted to get combat level 100 and level 75+ in all of my skills (F2P) I still have to do Prayer and Runecrafting. Yes, each of us can play in the way that pleases us. Hey, did you know that there are exactly 23 Yew trees in the F2P world? (sorry) Cheers
  13. Well, I would be pleased because I could get a bit of free crafting exp turning them into ammies of magic. After that, I would probably just give them away to non-noobs.
  14. Yes, but very slowly If your goal is to get money then yes, that would work, eventually. If your goal is to get money as quickly as possible then you shouldn't change to the next tree right away. If your goal is to level fast then you should stay with fast mid-level trees. Sigh, you know I never used a single number in my previous post... What point? This is the General Help and Advice forum. Are you asking the community to comment on your plan for raising Woodcutting? Would you like suggestions on where to chop? Or maybe suggestions on what to do with the logs you get? Better exp per tree, yes, but not per minute spent cutting. It all depends on why you are bothering to raise your woodcutting skill. If you want to raise it so you can chop yew and make good money then I presume that you would like to be enjoying that money sooner rather than later. So, you need to be aware of efficient ways of chopping. Things like Exp per log chopped, average number of chops per log, location of certain trees, bank locations, etc. You can certainly chop the way that you suggest, but Jagex designed Runescape to make more valuable things (Yew, Addy, etc) slower to get than cheaper things. So you may find yourself becoming frustrated with the slow pace of getting logs. (I have level 80 woodcutting btw) Hope this helps
  15. So some players hope to raise their crafting level by offering to cut other players' gems. If a player enchants a sapphire amulet then it becomes an Amulet of Magic. You can get sapphires and most other gems from mining. Finally, there's a free Sapphire spawn point in the deep central wildy by the Giant Spider Mound. Hope this helps
  16. You posted this in "General H&A" Are you trying to ask the community for some advice? It's not clear what your posting goal is... If you are looking for advice, then I suggest chopping Willows. You can chop south of Rimmington if you want some peace and quiet. You can sell to the nearby store to unload the logs. Or, chop south of Draynor if you want to bank the logs. I'm sure there are a lot of other places just as good, if not better. Finally, consider this: generally speaking, the "mid-level" activities are usually the best way to gain "fast" experience. High level activities are best for money but not for fast exp. So, if I wanted to raise mining I would mine Iron instead of Addy or Runite ore. If I wanted to raise woodcutting I would chop Willow instead of Yew. If I wanted to raise fishing I would fly fish instead of shark, swordfish, or lobster. Hope this helps
  17. About 8420 if you pick up, about 33680 if you don't. Hope this helps
  18. Well, you could... But the real questions are: "What runes do you want to train with?", "How much money do you have?", "What is your Runecrafting level?", and "How fast do you want to level?" If you want to be very efficient with your money then train magic with Curse. In that case it doesn't matter what you train on and you may as well train near a bank. Hope this helps.
  19. You could do it with about 205 Bronze if you picked them up. Or, about 820 Bronze if you didn't pick them up. Hope this helps
  20. He could try the monks in the Monastery west of edgeville. They will be easy for him to slaughter. The cool thing about them is that they will heal him for free. So, have him ask for a heal before killing the kind monk that heals him. IIRC, there is also free cabbage that grows there as well. So, even though it doesn't heal much, it is totally free. He should also get some of the special Draynor manor Defense cabbage. It gives a slight temp boost to Def and it's also free. Hope this helps.
  21. That tells me that you were not paying attention for at least a minute after it broke. You always have that long before anyone else can see it. The obvious solution to pay closer attention to what you are doing. I assume that you know that the Lumbridge axe store will fix broken axes for a price? BTW, your mining pic can break in the same way. Nurmoff in the NW Dwarven mines will fix those. Hope this helps
  22. Usually that means that you already have one in your bank or inventory. For example, The Duke of Lumbridge won't give you another Anti-Dragon breath shield if you already have one. To get another you have to, briefly, drop them on the ground and then talk to him to get another. Sir Prysin in the Varrock palace normally sells them for 500 gp. So if you have started or finished the Demon slayer quest and you don't have any Silverlights hidden away in your bank, he should offer to let you buy another one for 500 gp. So, try searching your bank inventory carefully. You probably already have one. Hope this helps
  23. You can use Jagex's official runescape map to see most cooking locations. Click on Overview, Key, Next page, and then Cooking Range icons to flash the locations. For F2P the closest is probably the kebab shop in Al Kharid, For P2P, I understand that the Rogues den is closest. Hope this helps
  24. If you don't pick up your arrows, about 5250. If you do pick up, about 1315. You could consult the Tip It ranging guide to find spots. Hope this helps.
  25. ...Is there a long place to burn without having to run back and forth like Lumby?... Yes, if you go just south of Rimmington and east about halfway to Port Sarim, you can have a long fire line extending to the west. You can burn in a straight line and end up south of the archery or crafting store. Then it's short run back to the general store or to the original willows that you cut in the first place. For burning your banked logs, I liked to use the Fally east bank. You can start your burn line near the north empty house east of the bank. You will end up very close the the bank door. Hope this helps
