  1. Well, it's Jagex's game and they determine "our rights" even if we don't agree with them. Of course (in most countries) Well, we could all whine and complain to Jagex about the rule and hope that they will change it. Game makers sometimes do listen to customer feedback. Your best course of action is probably to submit CS questions and/or post on the official RS forums. Or just play another (free) game...
  2. Getting 99 smithing is gonna be very hard. It's gonna take a lot of time and/or money to do it. Even getting level 70 in all F2P skills is gonna be hard. Prayer, crafting, and smithing are slow to raise unless you have a lot of money to spend on them. I suggest getting your mining to level 85. That way, you will have a taste of what it's like to get 1/4 of a level 99 skill. And, you'll be able to mine Runite and make some decent money. Then, with some money, you can decide what other skills to raise. Hope this helps
  3. Well, consider that there are restrictions on who you can attack in the the wilderness and that the wilderness contains some very valuable mining ore... So, a player could make a low combat level character with high mining skill to get valuable ore with fewer worries about being PKed. The ore could then be transfered to your main character to level or make money. FWIW, some other free games let you transfer most items between accounts. Other games have even more relaxed rules regarding buying and selling items. Their game -- their rules. They really don't "owe" us an explanation. We can always take our money and/or time elsewhere and play another game.
  4. No, they are not. Just check their stats in the hi score list. No. Although the highest combat level in RSC was, IIRC, 123, but, of course it's 126 in RS2. So they may be confusing RSC with RS2 Hope this helps

You can reach level 60 if you pick up. You can reach level 48 if you do not pick up. The most effective way to shoot is to cast a Curse first to pull the monster over to your safe spot and then begin to range it. That way, all of your arrows are in the monster loot pile and are 1 click to pick up. Hope this helps
  6. For F2P you have: Silver Tiaras at 52.5 exp each Silver holy symbols at 50 exp each Hard leather at 35 exp each Clay bowls at 33 exp each Gold amulet at 30 exp each. I got F2P level 75 crafting doing silver but that was very expensive. Many players do hard leather or clay bowls. The crafting guild is ideal for this because everything that you need is right there. Hope this helps
  7. Yeah, that's where I got 85 mining in F2P. I used the 3 Iron rocks along the west wall in the North section of the chasm. My technique was to 1 hit the south rock, spin to to the west rock, one hit the west rock, spin to the north rock, 1 hit the north rock, spin back to the south rock, then drop, drop, drop and repeat the whole thing for about 90000 more rocks. Hope this helps
  8. It looks like you already know most of the ways to level. In general, the higher exp earning spells are either gonna be expensive (Chaos, Death, Law) or require other things to use (Nature, Cosmic) So, make your selection based on your money and time available. It would take you about 18,400 Curse spells, at least 700,000 gp, and a lot of clicking if you decided to do it with failed Curses. Hope this helps.
  9. Hmmm, that's gonna be hard in F2P. But, lets look at it by skill.. Attack/Strength/Defense: you could try killing all of the Zammy monks and getting Zammy wine. IIRC, the wine respawns in about 30 seconds but the monks respawn in about 2 minutes. So, if you can kill them all quickly enough, you may be able to grab 4 or so before they start to respawn. You could use your stat restore prayer and the prayer guild altar to handle the Curse debuff. You could bank in Edgeville. Sell to P2P players. Prayer: gather Big Bones from the wildy boneyard and sell on the marketplace forums for 350-450 gp each. As a level 91 combat, PKers might not bother you too much. Fishing: catch Lobster and/or swordfish to sell to cookers. Cooking: cook lobster and/or swordfish to sell to PKers Woodcut: cut and sell yew logs. There are 23 Yew trees in the F2P world. Crafting: make strength ammies. Power ammies start at level 70 crafting. Smithing: mine coal and iron and make steel bars. Sell them here. Mining: mine iron/coal/mith until you can do Addy. Addy ore sells for about 1k each or so. Runecraft: mine essense and/or craft airs. Now out of all of these, IMHO, Big bones, yews, steel bars, and ore are probably your best ways to raise the cash. Hope this helps (to give you a few ideas)
  10. Yeah, but it's nice to know when to jump back to your starting world...
  11. It's said to be 1386 - Players/3 seconds. Hope this helps
  12. It's not about the quote at all. It's about wondering if Jagex hid additional in-game jokes for us to find and enjoy. It's just speculation about what Jagex might find amusing and how far they might have gone in providing it...
  13. You really, really need to separate this list into P2P and F2P. There are many more F2P players than P2P players and, so far, the list is concentrated on P2P. For example: Fly fishing for F2P? (Barbarian village) Also, IMHO, you should group the list by skill. That way, things like Smelting don't get forgotten (F2P smelting in Al-Kharid) Or Prayer... like F2P Big Bone gathering (F2P wildy boneyard) Another example, look at Mining. It appears in 3 areas in the list instead of just 1. Also, some of the activities need additional explanation. For example: Mining and banking clay It's a very good start but it still needs a bit of work... Hope this helps
  14. Maybe he was using the "walk away, do something, and come back" trick to speed up his mining? I usually use that to get my Addy and Mith ore faster.
  15. To clarify, it says "This is NOT the mightiest tree in the forest." Makes me wonder if there is a tree somewhere that works. Let's see. What are some "interesting trees" in Rs? 1) Lost City quest starting tree with the leprechaun in it. 2) Entrana quest tree 3) Draynor bank tree with the guard hiding in it 4) Draynor manor attack trees 5) Wildy charcoal trees (?) ...
  16. HitDone*4/3 always goes to HP exp If you are training in "Controlled" style then Attack, Strength, and Defense all get HitDone*4/3 as well. If you are training in just 1 style (Attack, Strength, or Defense) then that stat gets HitDone*4 exp added to it. You can read Tip It's guide to melee training here. IIRC, in F2P, if you are training Range in Long Range style then Range gets HitDone*2 and Defense get HitDone*2. Otherwise, Range gets HitDone*4 P2P has other training options as well (Cannon, etc) You can read Tip It's guide to Ranged training here. If you are training magic, then, in F2P you earn magic exp as BaseExp + HitDone*2 So if you cast Curse you earn 29 + 0*2 = 29 magic exp If you hit a 9 with Crumble Undead you earn 24.5 + 9*2 = 42.5 magic exp and 9*4/3 = 12 HP exp. If you use a staff to auto-cast then you split the magic exp with Defense. You can read Tip It's guide to Magic training here. Hope this helps
  17. One difference is that the Max hit for Bronze arrows is about (Range+14)/9 while the Max hit for Iron arrows is about (Range+15)/9 Hope this helps
  18. FWIW, each level increase in Defense will raise your overall combat level by 1/4
  19. I don't know if knife damage is similar to arrow damage (cause I'm F2P) But, it would take you about 137000 Iron arrows if you picked them up and about 548000 if you did not pick them up to reach 99 Range. Hope this (somehow) helps
  20. If you pick up an average of 75% of the arrows that you shoot, then it will take about 6920 bronze arrows. If you do not pick any up, then it will take about 27700 This post explains how to calculate it. Try the Security stronghold. A lot of monsters there drop arrows. Hope this helps
  21. Yeah, in F2P Air gives 5 RC exp per essense, Body gives 7.5 Well, players that understand how to "get the most magic exp per gp spent" do. But, yeah, you're right, they are in low demand. Yes, the path is west from the Edgeville bank, southwest to the edge of the barbarian village, and then squeeze through a gap in the fence to reach the Body altar. Hope this helps

Right. Just don't move around so much. They lose interest in you if you have been in the same area for awhile. When you leave their area and then return they get interested in attacking you again. Hope this helps
  23. You can use the Range guide here at Tip It. Well, the trick with Ranging is to always shoot from a safe spot. Also, if you pick up your arrows then you can use each one about 4 times. That will save you a lot of money in arrow costs. You could try shooting city guards from just outside their walk range. Try Varrock palace guards, city guards, and jail guards on the 2nd and 3rd floors of their buildings. You could try Barbarians in the pub when hiding behind tables. You could try white knights in their screen/torture room. (Although their defense might slow you down) You could try monsters in the security stronghold. That way you may get back more arrows than you use :) To go from 37 to 50 will require about 1600 bronze arrows if you pick them up, 6200 if you don't. Or about 1500 Iron arrows if you pick up, or about 6050 if you don't. Hope this helps
  24. Yes. Wear full helm, chest plate, leggs, and kite shield of any metal to a -65 magic attack stat. You could also wear stronghold boots for a little extra - magic attack. If you use an earth staff to cast then you might not fail. So, in that case either wear green dragonhide vambraces or cast on the red monk in the cage under the Varrock stairs. He is said to recover quickly from Curses or cast on monsters in a multicombat zone that other players are killing. To get the water runes... Either runecraft them yourself or buy them in Port Sarim or Varrock and world hop to get good prices. Hope this helps
