Is God real post your thoughts!
[hide=] How is this a "last ditch effort"? Just because you cannot find an answer to the question doesn't mean it's our last ditch effort, nor does it mean that you've answered the question by saying (in essence), "Don't try that on us". People can be both. Democrats are not inherintly idealists. Just like some Christians choose to believe in evolution, regaurdless of the fact that it doesn't logically fit with the creationist stories/beliefs. My mind seems to be fuzzy...Where did you lay out a coherient argument again? I see nothing in the way of factual evidence to support your claim. [/hide] Ok, first off, I direclty didn't answer the question, but someone else did, and it was a perfect answer, IMO. Second, I agree with you about the Democrats being Idealists. Third: I have shown lots of "factual" evidencem ,youe just ignoring it. Look back. ;) Also, you've yet to show me any factual evidence.

What is George Bush's Legacy?
Well, here's the thing, some of the Old Testament applys, and others don't. Some sdon't only because they were there to purify the Israelites, but after Jesus came, they weren't needed. But others still apply because they had nothing to do with it, it's confusing I know. Example: If a house had mold in it, it was to be destroyed. It was to show, that Israelistes were above the other countries, but, I mean, that changed when Jesus came. Also, if that was the case, every house in US would be destroyed.

What is George Bush's Legacy?
First off: I don't think you guys noticed, but I meant pacifist, not atheist, lol sorry. Second: Turn your other cheek if you're being persecuted, but [bleep] em up if they're being [wagon] killing your people. God has done some things to the enemies of Israel in the Bible, it's actually pretty cool. And the 12 plagues were epic. God is a kinda tough love God I guess you could say. He's loving, but if you're rebelling, he's gonna kick your [wagon] (as ina country or nationin general, sometimes a single person, or not, or get people to do it for him.

No, but you said the same thiung in concept, something like if God could make a spherical cube he couldn't exist or something, it's a last ditch effort to think you're right.

What is George Bush's Legacy?
Anytime anyone says they hope they are doing God's will or that they are serving him atheists all try to go "What a loony! he thinks he talks to God? What a nutjob!" And nothin Scott McClellan said was really news. It was just Keith Olbermann who jumped all over that. I can see where McClellan is mad about Valerie Plame but that is really the only thing he said that was important. Okay, let's just assume you're right here, and Bush actually meant "I believe that I am doing God's will.", instead of what he actually said, which was "I'm driven with a mission from God. God would tell me, 'George, go and fight those terrorists in Afghanistan.' And I did, and then God would tell me, 'George go and end the tyranny in Iraq,' and I did." I mean, I don't know why he would mean the first thing when he said the second, but maybe, just maybe he did. Let's assume you're right. Don't you think that Bush saying that he thinks he is doing God's will by invading a country is manipulating the Christian majority.... just a little bit..? You act like Christians are athiests. There are some epic battles in the Bible; pretty gory too. God isn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

So you're a realist, and a Democrat? Not to bring two threads together, but Democrats are idealists... Second: We've given atheists perfectly good arguments, and you ignore them, not even reply to the posts. So right now, how about you give me a good argument NOT to. And, how would you define existance? I think there's only one way too.

What do we gain by pretending though? I mean really, what do we gain?

[hide=] I see the (only) way to proving God does not exist, is to defeat his purpose. God's purpose is to give hope that life has a meaning, a direction, a goal. If you can get this hope elsewhere, don't need the hope or understand that life really has no higher meaning, you do not need God. This may seem ruthless, but it seems like it, only because it is. Life is easier when you accept it the way it is and don't lie to yourself or to others. God's purpose is also to relieve the pain of sin and death. You get over these when you understand, that there is no sin and that living forever is boring, that death is inevitable and needed. By saying that sin does not exist I mean, that you are not a worse person or doomed to go to hell if you sin, because everybody does sin. Sin and hell are only means of making people fear God or feel sorry for what they've done. You can feel sorry for your actions without God and you don't need God to accept you, or forgive you, if you accept yourself and forgive yourself. And see, the pain is gone. If I go to hell for my words I can only blame God, because he did decide my future, the meaning of my life and everyone else's, before I was born. [/hide] 1) That isn't his purpose. How would you know? *cough* adam and eva *cough* I've seen some studies saying there isn't any proof for the bible being real. So? Back in the 1600s about everyone, not just scientists were religious. [/hide] Yes, Adam and Eve sinned, as I said, EVERYONE sins. But they repented. And I know that's not his purpose, because I'm a Christian, you guys all act like Christians are blind leading the blind. And, Bruno, you didn't answer the question, please answer the one I asked, not the one you want.

What is George Bush's Legacy?
I honestly believe that he lied, and this is my reasoning: Even after he found out that he was misinformed, he showed no remorse for invading a country on false evidence. To me, that means he had alterior motives to invading Iraq (of which I do not know 100%, but I would guess some unfinished business by Dad in the 90s and oil). He would have used any reason he had to go into Iraq as soon as it popped up, and that is as good as a lie to me. NOO!!! Dear God, we did not go to Iraq for Oil!!! We get most of our oil from Canada, Venezuela and I think Mexico. Not that much from Iraw, we may get a little. And besides, I think that if they didn't have WMDs when we went in, they had them earlier. Saudi Arabia, the #1 supplier of oil to the USA. You may have heard of OPEC ;) Also, Iraq does supply the USA with alot of oil, but not that much. Wtf is OPEC??? /sarcasm So? Cool, OPEC exists, good for them, we don't get oil from them, do some research next time. Canada, Mexico and Venezuela, let me restate: are our biggest suppliers. And Atronic, ok, sure whatever you want to believe. You really think the UN is competent enough in the first place to find any?

Meat lovers vs. Vegetarians
Oh please, you killed a cow big deal. Killing animals is fine, in my opinion as long as they weren't abused. But technically, spiders and insects are the healthiest things you can eat, period. Kinda gross though.

"Baby Killer" given life sentence
Theres a big difference between the two. a baby while its still a fetus cant really do anything, and in my opinion, even though its a living thing, it doesnt have the ability to move freely. whereas a baby as old as this one could probably communicate crawl move eat sleep feel, etc. thats why i believe abortion is okay. I personally think that fetus' don't have the ability to feel. But, I'm pretty sure, not entirely, that the fetus can feel pain. Second, the fetus did even less to deserve it.

She is the one claiming to be an expert on special needs children--said research could be the key to understanding this. Furthermore, if you don't know whether or not research is "important", you shouldn't be making ignorant claims about it ( I know you agree with me, so it's ok). The Republicans and their anti-science days are about to come to an end. You gotta realize, there are atheistic Republicans right? And some of them believe everythinga snotty scientist spits out. And besides, I for one, agree with 99%, of science, I think it's majorly just evolution and big bang I have a problem with. While those may seem like big deals, it's my opinion, sorry. Also, you guys have got to realize, everyone here, just because someone doesn't agree with your opinions, doesn't make them an illogical unintelligent bastard.

1) Obama voted for the bailiout, also. 2) NO TERRORISTS ATTACKS IN A VERY, VERY LONG TIME. (besides minor ones) 3) Finally ended Hussein's power. Also, side note: Many scientists agree, that the kyoto protocol (For those who do not know, it was a Japanese thing to lower Co2 emissions, to help stop global warming) is infact, quite useless. [hide=]Well, the first thing to figure out is whether what we humans do causes global warming, Well, the earth and its plant life, including trees, plants and others, all release around 200 billion tons of CO2, but it absorbs it all back. However, humans only release 7 billion tons of CO2, a small fraction of what the earth naturally releases, (Global Warming). So as we see, if the earth releases that much CO2, then is the amount we release from cars, aerosol cans etc. isnt really all that much for the earth to absorb certainly if it can absorb 200 billion. What is 7 billion more compared to that? Even if it is a lot, some scientists say that too much CO2 isnt bad because the plants consume it However, when the nations came together to announce the reduction of CO2 emissions in the Kyoto Protocol, what some scientists realized is that following the Kyoto Protocol, will cost the U.S. hundreds of billions and may not even be effective. Seeing as it may not matter what we do if it doesnt to affect the heat change. In fact, some researchers believe that the consequences of attempting to slow global warming may be worse than the impact of the warming itself. Attempts to control greenhouse gas emissions could end up hurting the worlds economy (Introduction to Global Warming). So is it better to destroy the economy for something that may not even happen, or just sit and see what will happen?[/hide] So, that's from my research paper last year, you can skip most of it, the only important parts are the quotes.

That's called Capital Punishment, lol. Did the baby drop good loot? [/end emotionless rude comment] Yea, this most likely was a mental disorder, and it's amazing it wasn't spotted sooner. I feel awful for the baby, if anyone did that to my little sister I'd have to kill em, for real.

Shadowfax hit it quite nicely, there's no reason to work, in a communistic country. Also, Communism is an idealist thing, as are most Democrats, everyone thinks it's a good idea, but it's never really worked.

And he didn't decide your future, you did. He put you on this Earth, you could have gone wherever you wanted. Done whatever yuo wanted. He wouldn't have stopped you. TheTrueNoob, on that October 14-17 Aleins Visiting thread, peoplesaid it was selfish and or ignorant to think we're alone in this universe. I was just applying it to Evolution. Second: There is plenty of evidence to support the Bible, and I've shown it; but let's recap: Dead Sea Scrolls anyone? And, of course, the story where an Atheist proved the Bible is real - with the space program. Third: Well, this doesn't really prove the Bible per se, but so many scientists were Christians, Newtown for one. And, what's this 'other' theory?

Happy Mol Day!
Woo, let's kick this party in to gear, bring out the CAFFEINATED coffee, oh yes, we're rebels! A mol shows how much substance was in soemthing. And Stoichiometry was so easy, even though I still can't spell it, I loved it. Unlike Thermo Chem, ugh, that was a pain. Physics is so much easier this year, lol.

Cut the [cabbage], Satenza tried that. God would find a way, and you still wouldn't give a [cabbage], as proven by humans in general. Second: You guys say its selfish to think wew're alone in this universe, and aliens are all three of those, and well, I think it's quite selfish to think we are able to evolve ourselves. And NoMoreDead, you hit the nail right on the button, exactly, which phases? The only one. Which just goes to show, evolution is not compatible with the Bible. The way we are now, is the way we *looked* back then. And I'm still sticking with Evolution as a theory, since thats what my BIOLOGY teacher said, and she teached college Biology for 15 years, and is head of the science department, and every single SCIENCE TEACHER there, athiest or not, says Evolution is a theory, even thoughs that believe in it.

I guess I'm ust explaining this the wrong way. They're not socialists, but their ideas go towards just the general idea of socialism, but actually, Bush has acted pretty socialistic this past month nationalizing banks and such.
