  1. Lol. Get over yourself.
  2. That's one thing I've been meaning to find out, actually. What happens if say, a native in some 3rd world poverty stricken country is a good person, but goes to hell because they never even had a chance to know Jesus. I'm not really sure, I've been meaning to ask someone. 2) Oops, sorry asbout the verse, that makes more sense lol. I was like "say wha?" and, I don't mean to be the 'holy preacher' but, just for the sake of argument, you're declaration that Jesus isn't real, or just you don't believe he's God defiles you also. And about the persecution, the emphasis was persecuting you becuase you believed in Jesus. But it was just the wrong verse anyways. Also, I looked at the facts for science, and it doesn't add up. However, (personal opinion) I think it's quite reasonable for there to be a God. And logic has nothign to do with it, as someone brought up somewhere else, logic is how you form an argument. Lastly, you sorta disregarded what I said, is that Christians aren't perfect, I have a big language problem, and an anger problem. So uhh.. not really sure where you're going with the whole 'defile' thing.
  3. Oh, I'm sorry, I wasn't trying to - I just really hate Wierd Al. It seems like he's not really that full of talent. It's one think to make a cover of something - it's another to openly mock them.
  4. So you're admitting into following something blindly? Without asking, without finding it out? Because you shouldn't just follow something without understanding it. That's why that part of 'God' is the most illogical and irreligious part of Christianity. I can have sex with a pretty girl, both being happy, before getting married, yet I can go out and kill three innocent folks which I stopped any form of happiness from getting to them, yet God will view those acts the same? That destroys all forms of justice and fairness, and saying God loves us all, I think some sort of fairness should apply to it. *sigh* Here's an analogy, I hope it helps. A two year old wants to play with a knife, it's shiny, and the two year old is inquisitive. But the parent says no, the baby can't play with the knife, the baby has no idea why - but the parent knows better. And Pasta, what I'm saying is, no, it's not ok to go sin, 5 seconds later ask for forgiveness, go sin again, and repeat. I'm just saying, you make a mistake, and are truly repentant, you won't go to hell. And @TheTrueNoob, what I mean, is there are too many coincidences. It's happened before, where leading atheistic scientists, or huge anti-Christian leaders have turned to Christianity. They realized the wonder that is God. And, on the hell comment, UtopianFlame, well yea. It says in the Bible I think, somewhere (U say I think, because I've not read it directly, but many people say its in there) that a sinner goes to heaven, and God sees him and says, effectively, go to hell, depart from me. And the sinner says "why? I've always helped the poor, fed the sick, clothed the needy. I've never judged, and I've been a perfect human" and God says something along the lines of (as I said, not directly read it) well, that's cool and all, but ALL I asked you to do was believe that I love you, and that I am real, and love my son. You couldn't EVEN do that. So, depart from me. And yes, your actions have some to do with your salvation, but it really is based on faith. And Utopian, to your last sentence I add - just because you don't understand something, doesn't mean that it's wrong - or illogical. And lastly - your comment about Matthew 5:11 is bull, 11"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. If anything, you're 'persecuting' me, because I believe in him, I'm not persecuting you, because you 'believe' in him, though I suspect you're an atheist, so why quote the Bible at all. And yea, I cuss. Just because someone is a Christian, doesn't mean they're perfect, which people in this forum can't seem to grasp.
  5. So, what do you watch? Msnbc? Cnn? Everyone knows that Fox News has a conservative bias - but people watch CNN and MsNBC and don't even realize they have a liberal bias.
  6. I'm not sure what you mean - What I mean is, I find it funny that people cuss out a God, that they don't even think exists. ANd if God does exist, in they're opinion, they hate him. Not even try to see what he's like. It's illogical to hate something but yet not know anything about it. At UtopianFLame, what the [bleep]? Are you [developmentally delayed]ed? John 3:17-20 (New International Version) New International Version (NIV) Copyright © 1973, 1978, 1984 by International Bible Society 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[a] 19This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. What God means, is if they are NOT REPTANTANT. Good grief. And John 3:17-3:20 says that we are ALL sinners, and each sin is the same in God's eyes, and we can all be forgiven. Did you know, that God sees you whacking your bro on the back in Anger, as the same as killing him in your heart? Now tbh, that makes no sense to me, but I know that God would forgive me for hitting my bro.
  7. Noob. I'm listening to Whatever You Like, by T.I., the legit one. Not that wanna-be [cabbage]. Get out. Symphony X - Eve of Seduction Just a little something before I leave for school. You act like my little bro, and he's 14. Why? How is rap any different from any kind of msuic? I find it so strange that people *love* BLACK metal, but hate rap because it "degrades" women. I see no difference. M.I.A. - Paper Planes And next up is - One by Apocalyptica.
  8. Actually, that's true. We agree on something for once. :anxious: To the above poster somewhere on first page, many people think Religous people in general can't have fun. I don't know where people get that from - I mean, you don't even have to be *serious* in church, what I mean, is God won't hate you for not dressing yuor best and sitting and not moving. I think, Christians have more fun than Athiests, But that;'s my point of view - also,m some people think of fun as getting drunk and such, for which, is a sin. So in that case, you're correct; but I have fun, a lot of it, and I've never gotten drunk before. (I just plain old hate the tyaste of alcohol.)
  9. Okay... but where's the evidence for all of this? And on the bus crash scenario - why do you think the word "coincidence" exists? It's there for a reason. What's more likely, a fortunate (for you) run in with your Mum to avoid a bus crash, or, an invisible all knowing, all present, all powerful, all everything creator of the Universe interfering with the fabric of spacetime (if he can interfere for you then why can't he interfere for everyone else?) If this is your idea of evidence... I think God has put you here to test MY faith lmao.. What you're saying there doesn't make any sense.. If God loves everyone, why would he save just YOU? What about the other people that got injured. Why was there a bus crash in the first place? Oh, cause we have free will. But wait, he saved you didn't he? Edit: If you're being sarcastic (which I doubt) then I apologize. We've already been over this - so I won't discuss it any further. And the evidence is all around you, you can see it, but you choose not too. But I don't know why I bother, I mean, to tell the truth, debating over the internet is stupid. No one ever changes their minds. Which is the point of debating.
  10. Oh, sorry, I was thinking of an other BBC poll, my bad.
  11. No, I won't be insulting your religion, you're just trying to be smart. God I hate explaining the obvious.
  12. Just a thought, but should it matter if Obama is ahead in Britain? Big whop, Europe as a whole is liberal, so of coruse they'd go along with him.
  13. Yea, my pastor didn't tell me that, the Bible did. God WILL forgive any sin as long as you're truly repentant.
  14. Noob. I'm listening to Whatever You Like, by T.I., the legit one. Not that wanna-be [cabbage].
  15. They enjoy having fun together, this can be achieved without god. I think atheists should have these weekly shows too. I'd propably enjoy gospel, if god didnt have to be involved. Here is my reasoning to why I do not need God, or do not want to have him around. God's most recognized jobs are: he created the world, he decides what happens in it and he offers eternal life with him after we die. First, who cares if he did create the world? It doesn't change anything if he did or if he didn't, it simply doesn't matter. Then, why do we want that life should have some special reason or that God wants things to happen, because it's a part of his master plan? If he had a plan, and he would succeed no matter what, why do we have this illusion of free will? I don't want someone to have an upperhand, to be allowed to break or make the rules as he sees fit. And last, who wants to live forever? Why do I need to see my relatives and friends after I die? Why isn't the time I have now enough? What if I get bored in heaven? What is eternal happiness? I'd rather cease from being than be thrown around by a superman. Wow. You're so epic.Tell me how to have gospel without God, I'm so eager to know. 1. the teachings of Jesus and the apostles; the Christian revelation. 2. the story of Christ's life and teachings, esp. as contained in the first four books of the New Testament, namely Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. 3. (usually initial capital letter) any of these four books. 4. something regarded as true and implicitly believed: to take his report for gospel. 5. a doctrine regarded as of prime importance: political gospel. 6. glad tidings, esp. concerning salvation and the kingdom of God as announced to the world by Christ. 7. (often initial capital letter) Ecclesiastical. an extract from one of the four Gospels, forming part of the Eucharistic service in certain churches. 8. gospel music. adjective 9. of, pertaining to, or proclaiming the gospel or its teachings: a gospel preacher. 10. in accordance with the gospel; evangelical. 11. of or pertaining to gospel music: a gospel singer All the defintions of Gospel. Now think about what you just said. And, you gotta understand,God wants what's best for us, he KNOWS whats best for us. Have you ever had something almsot awful happen to you? But by somewierd quirk it didn't? Ever think that was God looking out for you? Once, I was supposed to ride the school bus home, in 1st grade, but my mom just happened to be near the school, so she picked me up, and we went home, an hoiur later, we found out the bus had gotten into a crash, and rolled a couple times, and many kids were seriously injured. People think that because you're Atheist God hates you. You can't comprehend, no one can, that's it, NO ONE can comprehend how much God loves us. God loves Muslims, Emos, Satanists, Atheists, Agnostics, Gays, Lesbians, Adulterers, Pedophiles. Sure, you may be punished for what you did, but only because God is looking out for you. Just like, when yuo were a kid, did you ever get spanked, or grounded? Your parents did that because they knew if they didn't punish you, you could think you could do whatever you want. And you'd be screwed over. And God's mercy is new each day. You guys call him a Dictator? C'mon, why do you think axe murderers go to heaven? because God says "hey, you screwed up, really bad, but you're really sorry, and I love you, so I'll forigve you." And he never brings it up again. Noe sure, you're still gonna have to go to jail, or be executed, but God will NEVER turn away a hungry soul. And tbh, I'd want to live forever, imagine being able to hang out with your cloests friends whenever you want? Heaven isn't supposed to be a chore, but a reward. Also, it matters A LOT if he created the world, he knew who you all were, before your great grandmas were born. He knew you, before you existed, and he loved you. And he'll always love you, so I don't know why you call him that.
  16. Unfortunately, yes in the form of welfare - a program that needs to be cut to about 10% of its current expenditures, seeing as most of the money it gets is wasted. Where would you like to make cuts, I'd be delighted to hear them. If anything needs a cut and a complete dissolving of its being, it's the Department of Homeland Security that was established by Bush. I believe in a small government that takes the bare minimum necessary in taxes to ensure order and protect the rights of the people; not a state that gobbles up massively unnecessary amounts of MY hard-earned money just to waste it on inefficient (socialist) programs - exactly what Obama is proposing. Seeing as every time such programs are implemented they either fail miserably or waste massive amounts of the people's money, it is a much better idea to stay away from such things. What do you call inefficient? What do you propose, that would make it better? I'll respond to the rest of this at the end. Obama is proposing socialist programs ala Northern Europe, that for the good of the country can not be put into effect. While strictly speaking most of his policies are not as extreme as a true socialist (or even farther, a communist) he still has enough expensive proposals on the table to force a (large) increase in taxes and still wreck the budget. What socialist programs? Isn't public education "socialist"? You know what's so funny? Adam Smith proposed socialist programs as you call them, and he's the Father of Capitalism. Who is "you people"? Money spent on defense is used for one purpose - do defend the rights of the citizens of the United States. It has for more then 200 years, and still does fulfill that purpose. That is more then worth ~ 1% of the federal taxes I pay. What is not worth paying is ~30% of my TOTAL INCOME (as they do in much of Europe and Canada) to pay for the bureaucracy involved in a hopelessly inefficient, wasteful and ineffective public health care system. As a rule, if both private enterprise and government can do the same thing, then private businesses can do it better, cheaper and more efficiently. You people are Republicans, and other warmongers. Why does the United States spend nearly as much money on military as the rest of the world combined? Again, you [bleep] and complain about health care, education, and things that help people...and you in-turn take "defense" instead. Military spending makes up a good chunk of the budget, next to social security, medicare/medicaid...which btw, people pay for themselves anyway with their own taxes. What you call wasteful and "hopelessly" inefficient, I call a savior of millions of lives. If we're so efficient, why is our infant mortality rate so high? Why is our life expectancy so low? Why? I thought it was an efficient system. If it was so efficient, it should cost less so that people have access to the basic needs of health care. Infant mortality rate so high? Why, could it be how pro-choice Democrats are? And you're adding an ingredient to the mix that never existed. 90% of Republicans DON'T like the war; but we think it's necessary. And do you really think your life expectancy will go up when you're waiting days to get a flu shot because the nationalized health care that you prayed fails. Well of course, it's reasonable, I think for the Gov't to pay for people who legitamately can't pay for it themselves, but for the gov't to pay for people who can pay? What ever happened to people who wanted to become doctors? Well, now they'll be forced to go under federal rules, [cabbage]ty hours, and [cabbage]ty pay. And while yes, all doctors whould go into that profession, only to help people, and the money comes second, don't think there aren't people who go into it for the money. Think, the 2nd Amendment is fitting. You know the people who are absuing guns,. and killing people? Guess what, they got their guns illegally. 90% of the time, so if yuo take away the 2nd amendment, the gangsters and killers still havr the guns, but the tax paying hard working citizens can't possess them. You can't assume he hasn't, for all you know, he lived in a poor nieghbrohood. You can't just throw stuff out at people, without thinking. And, I HAVE lived around poor people. I'm surrounded by ghettos, and yes, there are some families there, who work their butts off, but still need welfare, and they're honest families. And then, everyone else, spends the food stamps and wlefare checks on weed and crack, there is such a drug problem because of it. And it's ignorant to say that it's not abused. Well, then give those people health care, but don't give health care to everyone. You say the War put us in a deficit? This is nothing if Obama becomes president. You know why the Rich CEO is sitting on his [wagon]? because he worked his [bleep]ing [wagon] off earlier in his life. DELAY PLEASURE. Work your [wagon] off for the first 40-50 years of your life, and chill and enjoy the fuits of your labor. So are you saying it's not ok for him to reap what he sow'd? Oh please, get over yourself. The lives of Americans are millions of times better than anywhere else in the world.
  17. That's your humble opinion. The NHS has huge public support in the UK. It's not perfect, but we're a lot better for it. If you wanna go private, you still can with BUPA and the like. If your mum's friend would have gone to A&E at any hospital (since it was after all an emergency) she'd have been seen to in a couple of hours. Why do you like Rise Against when you're a right-wing Republican? Obama's economic views are not close to my own, but they're closer than McCain's. It is possible to support things outside of your own political scope. As hard as it may be, I'm not a Republican, but a moderate. And, me and all of my friends think their views are [developmentally delayed]ed. And they need to get a life. But I see what you're saying about the economy. But I still think nationalized healthcare is bad.
  18. I buy one pair of shoes at Wal-Mart every 6 months. I like being in style, but when you're paying for everything by yourself, and trying to save for college and a car, you're not gonna go buy a $300 pair of shoes.
  19. here's the thing, NO ONE wants nationalized healthcare. It is a horrible horrible idea; the waiting lines are so long in places like France, Canada and Britain, my mom once had a friend die waiting in line to get some simple healthcare in Britain, it woulda taken her 30 mins to get in US, and would have saved her life. But she died wating DAYS to recieve the treatment. The problem is, while yes, nationalized healthcare is a good *idea* realisticly, it's just not probable. Also, you didn't really answer how, if you're a marxist, and you agree with Obama's economic policy, that doesn't make his views similar to yours? (marxist?)
  20. [hide=] I'm a Marxist, not a bigot. I suppose the reason I support Obama is through a total dislike of the Republican Party and what it stands for at the moment. You know, remove all the "maverick" rubbish Palin tries to dress McCain as, he really isn't any different to Bush aside from a few (10%) minor details. He believes the war should continue, all the while being paid for through taxes, when the war is of questionable worth. You might win, but what's the point in the war when you're dying from a terminal illness you can't afford to pay to treat anyway? At least with Medicare, you know that money's going towards the health of your fellow countrymen, which in turn, improves production and makes for a happier and stronger economy. His beliefs (or at least Palin and most of the GOP) are quite clearly rooted deeply in theology, and as we know, mixing religion and politics is generally considered a bad idea. To force theological beliefs by denying certain rights on those who aren't religious is wrong, just as it would be wrong for me as an Agnostic to call for Churches and all their charities to be closed down, on the grounds of "immorality". His campaign is riddled with hypocrisy, smears and lies. To have Palin swanning around, trying to affiliate Obama with terrorism, to have activists trying to dig up rumours that he's a Muslim, or to try and give the idea that Obama is a socialist is misleading. Control by fear is the sign of a poor manager. If he's this dishonest on his campaign, imagine what he'd be like as President. [/hide] 1) I never called you a bigot. :( 2) "under God" has been in the Pledge of Alliegance for a while now. 3) McCain's campaign smears, true, but so does Obama's, and every single politician in History.
  21. Statistics disagree, the average polls still give 6-14% lead to Obama, compared to Kerry/Bush having nearly equal 50/50 or Bush with a 1-2% lead in 2004 pre-election polls. Heck, even betting agencies give a 6 odds for McCain to win compared to Obama under 1.20. Unless something absolutely catastrophic happens, Barack Obama is the 44th president. I wasn't talking about 2004, but an election whn the odds were way greater. And GW, just an odd bit. You say you're a marxist correct? Then why do you agree so much with Obama if he's not a marxist? Also: Obama's mother and father were marxists.
  22. Yea, Obama most likely will win; but it's happened before, when everyone thought the other presdient would win, infact, the newspapers printed "_____ won!" when it fact the others person didn't. I'm reading an interesting book about it right now.
