  1. Www.Google.com But, I always thought it didn't matter, just do half formal half casual. Goes to show how much I know about stuff like that, because I always go to events when its formal, or when it's casual. Lol.
  2. It is helping him but it really shouldn't be. Obama winning would kill the market. His tax policies are to give tax cuts to middle class and raise them by a massive amount on the rich and business. While any tax cuts are good it's mostly upper class people who are investors. If I know that the capital gains tax is going to go up am I really going to invest much? Now is the time for at least a temporary reduction to 10%. That's so true, actually; when people have a lot of money (i.e. rich people), they have well, maybe not left over money per se, but they're not scorunging for money, so they invest. And if you tax them, they'll have less money. Same reason why you never raise taxes in a situation like this: people don't want to spend any money right now, tax them more, and then they won't have as much money, thus locking away their wallets, and not spending any at ALL. Now, THAT will lead into a deeper depression, people will lock away thewir wallets, so no one is buying anything, so Businesses are losing money so they die out. Then the workers get fired, and then they really do have no money at all.
  3. Your main argument against Obama was "Universal Health Care". Obama is not bringing that, and then you didn't have much of anything. By the by, I'm not necessarily attacking Republicans, I'm attacking Reagan Democrats. These are the people who LOVE people like Mark Warner, but won't vote for Obama despite them having the same political ideology. The only explanation for that is, race, and his name. Jack, sorry, but you trying to use the race card in favor of Obama won't get you anywhere. It's a known fact that black people and minorities support the Democratic Party in overwhelming numbers regardless of the race of the candidate. Kerry got 88% of the black vote, and I expect Obama to get around the same. Also, that doesn't address the hatred that Ginger was discussing either. This is what Ginger is describing: Did you just read what I wrote? And I feel hatred, not at Obama, infact I agree with Michelle, but with his followers. At school, my friends will tell their freidns "Do you know Sam? He ISN'T voting for Obama! What a racist!" did you vote for Keyes? Why not? Because of his race? As you can see, that makes no sense, you didn't vote for him because you don't believe in what he believes, it had nothing to do with his race. So why is it a racial question? I mean, I also don't agree with his views on the War in Iraq... So. Edit: I just watched a vid, that interviewer was misguided, McCain is running for President, not Palin. So why compare Palin to Obama? No one knows about Biden. I learned about him 2 motnhs ago, I knew about McCain 10 years ago.
  4. Uhh.... Ok... You're correct with the War against Germany, but wrong about the Communistic Bolsheviks. America's economy revived, not because of the New Deal, or because of the Bolsheviks. It revived because with the War, all the sudden a surge of work was needed, to go to factories or work in the Army. In fact, so much work was needed, that the Bracero program started, bringin in Mexicans to work Agriculture. Then, when everyone came home fromt he war, they had checks to spend, lots of em. Well, apparently, it'll even out soon. I don't know the exact ramifications, but business cycles are healthy, so no it won't go back to the exact way it was, but this won't be the next Depression. Also, I find it fasciniting at the stupidity of people. For instance: AIG recieving a load of money from the Bailout, and sending their Executives on a $440,000 retreat with $23,000 spa expenses. WOW.

I hate running so much, I'm not really sure why. I'd much rather bike, it's harder to bike for me, but I can feel the wind in my face, so... And, apparently 3 girls at my school, 2 of which I know, set National records on something, like records including adult ones. I don't know much about it.
  6. Umm, Obama does that a lot, actually, but the media is liberal, and so people in other countries, are 90% Democrat, only the knowledgeable and logical people vote Republican. You're epitomising that exact feeling I'm talking about. If any criticism comes onto the Republicans, you reflect onto the Democrats and say "They're the same, so what?". Yet strangely, you go further to suggest that, despite being the same, only sensible people vote for your way of thinking, and degrade all else to the depths of stupidity. That's not democracy. It's an ill-thought out fish slapping contest. So uhh, look at the bolded text, are you saying all Republicans are illogical? One thing, is on a scale for 1-10, most Democrats are a 4, Obama is a 12. He's is SO liberal, people hate him. And what is this logic you're talking of? Obama hasn't shown any so far. He's a great politician, as in he knows what to say to get people to like him, certain people in the past, not to name names. But really, he's got awful ideas, and if you look at it LOGICALLY, you'll see his ideas aren't that good. . First off, I didn't say the Democratic Party, I said Obama. ;) And also, do you really need to turn to the scape goat game and blame religion for everything? There are plenty of athiestic scientists who say Global Warming is a crock. And do you realize, you always ignore the scientists you don't agree with? And also, I'm not some republcian extremist, 98% of my friends are Democrats. I don't see anything wrong with the Democratic party, in the past I think the Democrats were a far better choice then the Republican candidates. FDR, for one. It's just, McCain is far right, and Obama is far left, which is why there is so much tormoil in this campaign. Good grief. I can honestly picture people like you reading Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. And then realize that Obama got his whole platform from that. Well, maybe not to that extreme, but pretty close. And no, I wasn't serious, I tend to be sarcastic, and forget people can't tell online. :| And Magekillr, thank-you for atacking the core of my being. So are you really un educated enough to think that anyone who doesn't agree with you is a bigot? Nice. Actually, I don't think you know anything about me, except that I'm a human, who used to play RS. Really, the race card is thrown because people don't know why people don't like Obama. Yet none of you can seem to fathom, that some people will always be Republican, and some will always be Democratic, no matter waht you say. And Magekillr, when people come to ym house to ask if I'll vote for Obama, I simply say "No, sorry I'm goin for McCain." And they say how I'm a racist and too stupid to understand why an old guy shouldn't be in office. And do you guys realize you're the ones doing the name game? I'm just playing along. And anyone remember a certain Alan Keyes? I was rooting for him, actually. It's funny how people only remember Obama, and not Keyes. And if someone could "repost" that thing abiut his healthcare plan. (I'm serious, I'll re-read it, and re think about it.) And even though this is getting really heated, just remember, anyone can be wrong. I mean, for all you guy know, Obama will be awful, and destroy America, and McCain woulda been better. Or vice versa, but eevn so, you guys have to realize that some people may not like Obama simply because he's a Democrat. And it has nothing to do with his race.
  7. What do you watch, CNN?   And actually, no one lets anyone speak on Fox News lol. Everyone shouts down everyone else, which happens on other networks.
  8. Umm, Obama does that a lot, actually, but the media is liberal, and so people in other countries, are 90% Democrat, only the knowledgeable and logical people vote Republican. But really, he's got awful ideas, and if you look at it LOGICALLY, you'll see his ideas aren't that good. And please do not bring race into this, thats just an unintelligent statement, it really is. And actually, the education is pretty bad in America in SOME places, where I go it is better then the other countries. Good grief. I can honestly picture people like you reading Karl Marx's Communist Manifesto. And then realize that Obama got his whole platform from that. Well, maybe not to that extreme, but pretty close.
  9. [hide=Quote] Terrible comparison. -The donations are very, VERY different in size. In churches, it's a basket where people usually donate $10 at the most. In Scientology, it's hundreds of thousands of dollars. -The donations aren't required to learn everything about Christianity. In Scientology, you MUST pay to learn about certain things (such as Xenu). -Some people feel uncomfortable when they do put some cash into the basket, because they get a few eyes on them. Well public mass isn't mandatory. Church doesn't necessarily have to be a public worship session. You can have church in your house with your family, or even by yourself. You're thinking of the cult, the "Peoples Temple" and what's been known as the Jonestown Massacre. It was founded by Jim Jones (not the rapper ;) ) and actually still exists today. It is very, very small though. Thats what it was! I completely forgot the name of it, I saw a documentary on it, it was disgusting to watch.[/hide] Different size, same goal. I'm not saying Scientology isn't an extreme example, I'm just saying there are similarities. That's because Christianity isn't as straight forward as Scientology. Scientology has strict rules and entry conditions such as a fee, where as a religion like Christianity relies on social pressures and fear to acquire followers and wealth. True. Self observations/opinions. Similar to your post, really. Actually, I tithe $40-50 every two weeks, not alot. But you're supposed to tithe 10%, we do that because we believe God gave us the money, and it's just to pay respect, but ALSO, tithe is too help pay for the church. THe tithe is how the Pastor almost always is paid, and how the church pays it's bills. And fyi, that's an awful church if they think that if you don't tithe. No offence, but try to look for another, at my church, if someone doesn't tithes, no one notices, and when they don't, they just realize that maybe times are tough for them. And with Scientology, I highly doubt they need 100,000's of dollars to pay for a church. Here's an off-shoot question: Don't they realize this was made from a sci-fi book apparently? I mean, no matter how much you love Star Wars, Star Wars is Star Wars, and it'll never be real. Why would they believe stuff from a Sci-Fi book?

Well, as in religion? I don't believe in it, or it's origins, as a fun time, hells yea! I mean, I personally, don't go to parties, but I get together with friends. Buut for a long time, me and my siblings weren't allowed to go Trick-or-treating, 90% because we all have this hereditary weak enamel or something. So we get cavities a lot easier, but a part of it was religious. But we still had a fun time. Kinda, lol. But now a 6'3" whenever I go people are like "gtfo my house, aren't yuo like 20?!" Dang it.
  11. Where did you find that heap of crap you call information? :| You can't say that he doesn't make a valid point.. At least when it comes to christianity and churchgoers, the tithe is stunningly similar to "mandatory donations" of scientology. You get publicly shamed if you don't chip in a single dime, and you get pressured into giving money to them, heaven forbid if they call old ladies by phone to raise funds, they really wont say 'no'. Just back a few hundred years ago, it was required to pay a bribe to a catholic priest in order to get absolved of sin in confession. (Leading to protests against the church and ultimately, factions such as protestantism that refused to believe such things) Other religions don't really have that concept though. Islam does have zakat, which in the Qur'an is ruled to be 1/40th of your salary that you should give to poor people, but not a lot of people obey it... And I can't find a similar philosophy in buddhism, hinduism, shinto, etc. Well, as a general rule fo thumb, a cult has closed doors. Now while this is sort-of the case with Scientology, we also know a lot about it. And to be honest, I see cults as usually, off shoots of religions, that turn form the religion, and create their own. I can't remember the exact name of this cutl, but it was an off shoot of Christianity, and they went to a secluded spot, where they were supposed to live "happily" but people wanted to leave. But they couldn't, and so when people came to investigate, disaster ensued, and to thew horror of all of us, (then and present) the leader Jones basically told everyone to kill themselves, by od'ing the kool-aid they drank, some drankj it willing to die for their leader, while others had to have it injected into them. Everyone was killed, including the children. Now, this all started as a Christian church and went deeper and deeper, but overall, in no way did Jonestown reflect any part of Christianity. What I'm getting at is, or at least what I'm trying to say\show you guys is there is a distinct difference. Cults are a must must must secret hidden no kiss and tell sorta thing. While Religions can be very open. And also, I'm really trying not to bash Catholics, but back then the heads of church wewre pretty greedy in some places.
  12. Uhh I'm pretty sure people bash Christians, well, about 99% of Off-Topic does at least.
  13. omg!!! thats just like me!!! everytime i see a scrambled rubik's cube, i get a strong urge to solve it.....its like an OCD except its just rubik's cube. hey, platsilver, how fast can u solve it? my quickest time was 1 min. 46 sec. This is uhh way off-topic, but just so you know, most people who have OCD, don't have that Monk Syndrome. In fact, the majoirty of OCD people have different symptons. I tried it, then sold it to my bro for twice the price (I got froma garage sale for 2 bucks, so I wasn't really ripping him off)
  14. http://www.slate.com/id/2201953/ Excerpt: What do you know about Obama's relationship with Ayers? You probably don't know anything. You're just looking for reasons to not support Obama. Before it was "Universal Health Care", we proved that Obama isn't bringing universal health care, and then it's something else. You're running out of options, and time...just like someone else we know. How is he not bringing that? I'm not sure you proved it yet. Also, I probably know a lot more than you know. ;) I have my sources. But although, I don't expect you to trust me. But I ask this question: This whole debate is kinda trifling, seeing as a lot of us can't even vote. Either cause of ags, or cuase they live in a different country, so why continue it? Are we really changing peoples minds? And you also have to remember, politics is all opinion, just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them a moron, they just believe something else. And I'm sorry if I came off a bit harsh.
  15. I just said I'm not condoning it. And oh PLEASE Obama is a [bleep]ing buddy with Bill Ayers, how can you ignore that? Some people would forgive their ticket of anything to see them elected - it's quite pathetic.
  16. First off, we don't know all the full facts yet. And, if we find out she really did that, oh please. Presidents have done it before, I'm not condoning it, but it's not like she's the first one.
  17. Ahaha. I take it you'll be voting for Obama? That's too funny. Nah, I'm too young to vote and I live in Canada. I'm just saying that as a point. :P Oh, I was just saying, people [bleep] about Bush making a huge deficit (war ain't cheap, face it) but Obama's healthcare plan will put us (America ) in huge debt also. ;)
  18. Ahaha. I take it you'll be voting for Obama? That's too funny.
  19. Not true. You are required to be Muslim by heritage, but if you believe in Christian ideology...I personally know one such person. No, you either believe Jesus is the son of God, or you don't. It's as simple as. Religion is not hereditary, unless it's forced upon you, which doesn't strike me as particularly American anyway. What facts are these? That he sat on a charity board for this bomber? Oh damn, is that all you've got against him? Palin makes him sound like al-Qaeda's second-in-command who's really on an agenda to overthrow the federal government and turn the US into an Islamic Republic. But then she also calls abortion "murder", she doesn't seem to have a problem with her campaign receiving dodgy cheques from failing banks, she doesn't seem to have a problem with opening a third front on the War on Terror, she seems to believe that a bridge which she claimed was vital for prosperity is no longer needed, she doesn't seem to recognise global warming is in part a man made problem, she seems to believe being governor of the least densest state in the Union for just two years qualifies you for VP, and she seems to believe a degree in journalism means she's more qualified than fully trained scientists in deciding whether polar bears are endangered; so frankly, it doesn't surprise me she'll also blow this out of all proportions. If you, along with the neo-cons in America, prefer to be scared into a vote through misrepresentation of opinions, rather than look for a candidate with rational answers based on Planet Earth, then you go right ahead and vote for the Palin-McCain ticket (no typo). But don't sit here and wonder in four years time why America has lost its global authority because the world is sick to death of those neo-cons controlling our economic system and invading countries they have no right to invade, on the basis they're more "moral" than the rest of the world. Dude, you're pretty much believing everything the mdeia in America says. 1)Obama does have terrorist connections, but no, that doesn't make him second in command, but should a president have anything to do with a terrorist, ever? 2) I'm pretty sure Obama recieved checks too, and what does abbortion have to do with checks? 3) Good [bleep]ing God, don't tell me no politician EVER has flip flopped? Get that [cabbage] outta your head, everyone politician has flip flopped on something. 4) Global Warming isn't a man made problem. ;) (And yes, I did a ton of reasearch for it, researched it for about 2 months, and from DATABASES, not google.) 5) Polar bears arent that endangered, and that's an extremely trivial item, you're just looking for any junk you can throw at her. Also, while yes, more experience would be necessary, her job will be VP. Also, she's not the first person to become vp (or at least nominated) with gthat amt of experience or less. Also, I'm not scared into a vote, I believe that Obama will bring the worlds greatest nation to the ground, with his half [wagon] schemes. And since when did America lost it's global authority? And uhhh I'm pretty sure Britain was in Iraq also. And oh, what was that thing, about the Boers, you know, where Britain invaded them, and made them slaves, for NO REASON. And I'm pretty sure our troops in Iraq aren't enslaving Iraqis. ;)
  20. You mean there are people who actually believe Obama doesn't have links with terrorists? Wow... I had Tip.It down to be slightly more intelligent than that. Just because you like Obama, don't ignore the facts. Of course, I'd have to say Tip.it IS the molst athiestic unintelligent democratic site I've been too, lol. But, so is all of the internet if you think about it.
  21. I can imagine it's a lot of fun, this may sound wierd, but I love falling, I just don't like hitting the ground.
