Chinese workers build 15-story hotel...in just six days.
You've provided no evidence that states otherwise, so based upon our evidence we have seen here; it can be concluded that that is a definite possibility. Mhmmm. @ Pasta: Nice avoidance.

Today...
Just the christianity. No other religions have even been mentioned. They just sorta come in and talk about it for the hour, telling some [cabbage] story and then on the last sentence linking it to religion. Then they show some video and link it to religion. If I had any interest, I'd have joined you by now. Shut up, and let me do some English. This is probably the first time I've actually wanted to go to English, too. The worst part is that no-ones gonna be there, so it's just going to be me, one of my mates and a bunch of others I don't really talk to. My mate is gonna do some trolling and knit. Apparently the most ultimate form of protest. (He's a weird guy, but cool) I really want to do some hard trolling, but no-one'll be there to enjoy it with me. Apparently public schools have to have a certain amount of religion going. Our school does a little bit in our assembly, and has one of these a year to get it all done. Here in Amehrca it's the contrary, public schools are supposed to avoid anything at all relating to religion. Still, little kids say "Under God" in the pledge of allegiance every morning, but whatever. Where I live someone preaching Christianity to the class would probably be laughed out before the end of the hour. Sadface. The mere fact that someone would "laugh someone out of a classroom" is plain wrong. I mean, believe what you want to believe. I don't get this whole kick of "lets stomp out all religion asap!" (I know... Or I think I know) that that is not your opinion, but I know too many atheists like that, and it makes me sick. Sadface. Sadface. :( What happened?

The Style Thread
While this may or may not called classy, I ordered some new MIRRORED aviators from Amazon.com. They arrived today, and they are see through. *sigh* Now I have to see if I ordered the wrong kind, or if they sent me the wrong kind. Also I bought some plaid, looks good.

I remember having that before. I can probably find something on Cracked about it. Something that irritates me... bad spelling. It makes me think "Are you really that stupid?" Somthing that iritates me... poeple who hate on othre poeple for literaly nO reason. Let tham live, nd they wil let u live. Alternatively, you could kill them, and still end up living yourself. I was hoping for a response more along the lines of "I see what you did there..." But that is valid as well.

wat. We were not supposed to provide links. They are not even going to read them. *sigh* I appreciate you Dupin, however, I do not approve. If I do not feel like links should be shown, they will not be shown. Edit: I re-approve. :D No but for real, am I missing someting? When I say: "I believe to be true that Chinese materials, are not help up to as high quality guidelines, as American. I also believe to be true, that this will cause many structures built with a combination/majority of these products to collapse. I also believe there is proof for these claims. " What else can I mean, but what you just said?

I am aware they seuck in water. As we say here in America: "What else is new?" I heard I like what I like, which you are not of. So what time you do get off? Dork-thirty? *Guffaws* cracks me up every time....

Yup, never again. And yet you still haven't provided any evidence whatsoever. So I won. Thanks. And btw, Pasta, I will think you are wrong, until you prove you are right. If you cannot prove you are right, you are wrong. The only part that is an opinion, is the amount of material that one may be considered enough to validate said claim. However Pasta, I rarely have any debates with you that aren't opinion based, by their very nature. So naturally, right and wrong are terms not to be used. Examples? Religion, Politics, and Economics are the main things we debate upon. These are all opinionated, and I am debating a simple fact. Chinese materials are not built to the same standards as western countries, and All Is Semi Great has shown nothing to prove me wrong. All I am asking for is a few links. Can he not even provide that?

No it isn't. I think you'll find that, that definition only serves a purpose in movies. And besides, if no one counters my points ...? This forum is bonkers. I think that so far it has only been your opinion that none of your points have been countered. Some of the refutations provided seemed quite accurate to me. So asking for proof that standardized material being shipped to America is decent.... And getting a link to the Forbidden city is accurate? I think that you just don't like me, and thus everyone will always be correct, when correcting me.

Because it's a matter of principle, links still need to be given to provide proof. Because he's essentially doing what I am doing, he's making a statement with no proof to back it up. Simply because I assume it is sound proof, well, again, I don't know it's sound proof, I am *assuming* it is sound proof. It makes perfect sense... When I said earlier that I believe Chinese buildings to be utter crap, I rephrased/elucidated upon the matter that I am referring to the building material, as well as the quality guidelines to which they are made. If a piece of propganda, such as the Forbidden City, or the Olympian buildings were being made, surely an extraordinary amount of care would go into the projects, to make sure they go off without a hitch? I'm not saying that's for China only obviously, it happens everywhere. I mean its like saying that joe's crab shack is built to the same standards of the White House... You can't compare them, because one is a very special building, the either is the run of the mill buildings. I have an issue with the run of the mill buildings, or more specifically, the materials to hold them up. Not if you're saying Chinese and not specifying any timeframe. If you're going to argue relevance I would avoid blanket, non-specific terminology. I did specify a timeframe. Recent. I.e. 1960s area, give or take 20 years (but we've been going under a mini building revolution, so I wouldn't go further than that.) I am not interested in the Forbidden city. What? Wow. Ok. I am not asking to be believed, nor am I being derisive. I enjoy arguging/"heated" debating, so I do not mind wasting my time, as I do get pleasure from it. However, I abhor going through links after links, when I know they are going to be ignored for no reason. The reason I am not accepting the links All is Great provided, is beceause of the vast time frame difference, they are not relevant, which is a major factor of the truth claim. Thank you. I was going to post this one much earlier, but I forgot the name. The thing with architecture is that different countries have different standards and needs. A highly retrofitted building that could survive a magnitude 8 or so earthquake is great in China or California, but a bit unnecessary in, say, Utah. And an impossibly tall building in an area with low population density is just wasteful. Each area's architecture suits its needs. Cool I didn't know about the Mesa Verde. Even though the Mesa Verda and the Hanging Monastary are pretty different, I did ask for something built onto the side of a cliff, so I guess it counts  . This means Chinese architecture isn't utter crap, eh? Same playing field perhaps? I agree, different countries have different styles of architecture, example, you see ancient castles all over Europe, but in China, you see temples, Palaces, etc. Different styles with no way to say exactly which one is better. That is what was p***ing me off about what bonkers(saru) said about Chinese buildings being utter crap. Btw, Saru, you don't use average buildings to compare which buildings are the "best" (i'm over the Chinese > NA + Europe, it's a pointless arguement), you use your best examples. Go search up photos of suburban Detroit, would you use those worn out houses as examples to say how they're better than Chinese high-rises? I don't think so. I would think you'd use structures like the Statue of Liberty (even though that was a gift from France, lol), white house maybe? Golden Gate Bridge, etc. I wouldn't use any of them. And this is why I'm not providing the links. Because if you can't even realize I am currently, and always have been simply arguing about the structural safety of products which could be in ANY building, how would act to the links. I would show statistics of X amount of buildings collapsing in America, vs. X amount of buildings collapsing in China. etc. (Although the Chinese results would be greatly skewed). So if you want to either take this to pm, or restart I'd be more than happy too; as I think the argument itself has become too muddled. So I will reiterate this. I believe to be true that Chinese materials, are not help up to as high quality guidelines, as American. I also believe to be true, that this will cause many structures built with a combination/majority of these products to collapse. I also believe there is proof for these claims.

You said, and I quote, "things built in China are utter crap". Now I'm giving you examples about how they're not utter crap. LOL, anymore excuses? "waaaaah olympic buildings don't count" "waaaaah ancient buildings don't count" "waaaaaah you give examples first so I'll have an easier time countering them" :wall: :wall: Show me a building in America that's built into the side of a cliff will ya? Don't let me get to you so easily. First off, you have not provided any links proving that the Olympic buildings are still structurally sound, while I have no doubt that they are, I would still like proof. However, the relevance of such buildings does come into play, when I I am referring to the actual building materials. Surely, if the buildings were made for the world to see, they would be exemplary examples of architecture, as I'm sure is true for any country. But for the average Chinese buildings, the ones you know, this argument is based upon, can they be compared? I'd say not. As for the ancient buildings, again, relevance comes into play. ----- And because I'm not about to show all these links, just for you to discount them as "those are fake/racist/sexist/bigoted/paranoid etc. etc. etc." And when I ask for proof that the Chinese buildings are indeed superior, I know you will not deliver, but merely state instead, how inferior the links are that I provided. I do not have time in my schedule for that.

A new category of traits? It's nothing more than a property. It's part of what defines us. What makes our ability to feel embarrassed special? I can use your logic for any unique trait and it sounds the same. Um... It's very important and special, but ok. I explained it, and if you didn't understand, or agree, I'm not going to waste time delving into it farther.

What? I don't care about ancient buildings? We were talking about the current UP TO DATE building procedures/codes/quality guidelines. I originally brought up the topic, by insinuating that shoddy materials were shot out left and right out of factories. Bringing up buildings that are very old, is just as relevant to the argument, as stating that the crucifix is proof God exists.

No, you haven't. Lol. Stating that there were some cool buildings for the olympics, is a subjective statement. I wanted links, proof that they are better, or if not better, at least on the same playing field as US architecture. You do that, and if I can't beat those links, I'll eat every word I've spoken on the topic.
