  1. Erewhon - yes, I misspoke. See my correction a few posts back? Eh? Keep in mind, I'm on your side in this discussion. My problem is with how Quel is handling this discussion, not you. I made that clear. How's that for informing yourself of the circumstances? <_<
  2. > Although, I predict that natures WILL have a huge price drop, so I'd sell most of your nats now people Yeah, and an increase AGAIN in pure ess.
  3. Frankly, I bet the curve is pretty weak, probably some sort of exponential. I'd guess that it would top out at say 50% chance for 2x natures at 90 rc, maybe 25% at 89, and down to like 5% at <80.
  4. I wonder how the curve works, and if (say) you have a chance at 3x natures over 91.
  5. My mistake, though my opinion of Quel's arguments stands.
  6. I'm starting to think this is actually a rant, brought on by someone deriding Quel's input due to his levels. It certainly reads like one. I say that because it doesn't matter how well reasoned the counterarguments are, he dismisses them out of hand. I don't see why it matters to you if someone dismisses your opinion. Let them be dumb and train stupidly. Otherwise you're basically repeatedly slamming your head against the wall. They're kids and are NOT going to listen to you, reasonable as you might be. Wait, that feels awfully familiar.
  7. Task 37: Kalphite (150) [sumona] Charms: 3,3,5,2 2023: SC Hammers and Oak Planks
  8. 2021: Gnome Advanced 2022: Used SC Hammers, oak planks.
  9. Task 34: Basilisk (174) [summona] Charms: 12,34,17,3 Task 35: Dust Devils (120) [summona] Drops: Handful of ranarr, Rune Arrows (48), Fire Runes (2174) Charms: 10,11,34.0 Task 36: Cave Horrors (176) [summona] Drops: Black Mask (2), Clue Charms: 9, 2, 18, 1 Sucky clue: Task 37: Kalphite (150) [sumona]
  10. Again you emphasize the exceptions rather than the "rule", while admitting the rule is correct. Guess what? I'm an exception to that rule myself. I'm 89 combat - I get what you're saying, I really do. I know more about RS as a whole than most 130 combat people. I've been here longer, and I've used the game more than just combat (which is the standard). If you have an "endgame" (ha) combat question, I can't help - but I'm pretty knowledgeable about the other 95% of the game. In general though, the higher combat / higher total level someone is, the more likely they are to have good advice.
  11. Personally, I'm hoping/somewhat expecting the update to offer a better/cheaper way of leveling prayer. Still, I'm tempted to buy bones for 90 just in case.
  12. Quel, relax a little. First, as this is a private message board, you have no inborn "right" to anything. The staff, if they wanted, could silence you because your name starts with Q. As for other posters who, like you and I, have no power whatsoever - they can gripe about people all they want (and risk being moderated). Realistically, though, there's a market of ideas out there. We as finite beings don't have time to rationally evaluate each "seller" of knowledge, so we take shortcuts. In RS, it is reasonable to equate higher levels / longer play time with being a better source of game advice. Is it always true? No! That just means it is an imperfect predictor.
  13. I have slayer rings, haven't done the quest, and can't teleport there.
  14. Done entirely by astrals (and a load of deaths when repairing pouches). That's 81k Astrals made, which is enough for 96 mage stringing amulets (102k -> 97, 129k -> 98, 159k -> 99). Task 33: Gargoyles (127) [summona] Drops: Rune Full Helm, Clue Scroll, Adamant Boots Charms: 9, 9, 5, 10 Notes: I expected these to be bad, but they weren't. They range easily, are easy to get to (Chaos Tunnels), and drop stackables. I look forward to doing them again!
  15. Yeah, I jumped off the bandwagon... I think I have the cash for 99 prayer, cons, and smithing, so I don't care much. Got the thing at 80m (purple) + 13m (trade up to yellow) +0m (trade to green). Maybe I'll buy it back after the inevitable crash. Oh, and I couldn't sell my green mask @ mid. So, take that for what it is.
  16. Task 30: Elves (65) Summona, for the big points. Can't effectively melee, so I'm cannoning. Drops: Lots of crystals, 40k of alch fodder, Clue Clue Results: Z page 2, ~360k. Finally, a decent clue! 308 Points! Time for slayer rings! Also this: Task 31: Jellies (105) Drops: Rune Full Helm (2), Charms (7,29,2,1) And this! Task 32: Kurask (162) [summona] Charms (16,41,7,3), Clue Clue Results:
  17. Task 26: Ice Warriors (80) Pretty boring - but I did get 33 gold and 3 crimson charms. A few ranarr, too! Task 27: Shades (83) Yeah, no drops. Did Phirins in the shade tunnels @ Morton. Task 28: Harpie Bugs (64) Again, no drops. First time I've done them though. Task 29: Shadow Warriors (111) ~20 charms, a few gems and mith bars, but nothing cool.
  18. Finished my Aberrant Specters task - good drops! More than enough ranarr to cover the prayer pots, plus 2x Lava Battle and a Rune Full Helm. Clue too, but I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Edit: G Page 3, 37k. <shrug> Icre Warriors are up next. 86 of them, not too bad. I did make a few thousand essence, randomly. Didn't keep count, but I'd guesstimate 4k.
  19. Another 3k essence made. Done with Vampyres. No good drops, and a sucky clue: And a Turoth task - did get a Mystic Bottoms, but those aren't as cool as they used to be. 25 charms, and a snapdragon seed. Ooh, speaking of herbs - Abberant Specters next! Only 64 though.
  20. With agile legs, spottier cape, and boots of lightness, I'm able to stay 0kg with the rest of my armor slots filled with rune/dragon armor. It's great - I never run low on run energy, and the Suqah don't hit me enough to make food necessary (even at 68 defense)!
  21. More, same as yesterday. Task today was Bloodveld. No good drops, though 6 Gold, 25 Green, 6 Crimson, and 2 Blue charms. Next task? 108 Vampires? Sigh. However...
  22. 2010: More Gold Ore! Also, got a Green Mask @ 23.5m. Resell point.... 26?
  23. Had a nice quiet night at home - got home, helped the wife make some very nice split pea soup, cleaned up, and then played RS for a little while. I decided to start on the mountain of Astrals I have to craft. I did four "sets" of runs. I define a set as the time it takes for a freshly repaired Giant pouch to degrade again. I think that's roughly ten trips to the altar, which I count as 500 essence. I then make an Abyss run to repair them. Up until today, I would make a load of laws while at the Abyss. However, now I'm doing Deaths to avoid the annoyance of ditching my armor and mud staff. After ~2k essence, I figured I'd take out my Slayer task. I had somewhere between 150 and 200 Banshees from Summona, so I hopped in the well in the desert and tucked myself into the safe spot. It's amazing how fast a cannon tears through those Mighty Banshees. Drops were nice, too - 700ish pure essence, loop half, clue, 6 ranarr, and 40 odd charms (mainly green). If I hadn't cannoned, it would have been profitable. Heck, it might have been anyways. Clue sucked, of course, though it was only 2 emotes and 1 Sara Wizard. Oh, and this: I have the gold ore for 90. I was going to do Adamant Plates, but gold ore is so much more AFKable.
  24. The thing with software scheduling is that it's hard. Things that you KNOW should take no time take ages due to unavoidable things like dev staff taking vacations, or getting the flu, or getting reprioritized, or quitting. So when these updates come in at unpredictable times, and you wonder if they're just being daft on how they're ordering updates... the reality is, some project that was due this week slipped. Story of my life, actually. Frustrating, but understandable.
