  1. i've been experiencing it, and they certainly got rares out of the way.
  2. that's great. now tell them to get red masks back up to 40m+. as far as i'm concerned, jagex are bound to get biased when it comes to price control. they will always adjust things to suit their own benefits no matter how hard they try not to.
  3. i'd say that runescape did use to be a pretty enjoyable place to me. when you asked, people answered. when you suddenly wore weird clothes, people asked why and some joined in. people helped each other; actually talked to each other. but then...i came in right after bunny ears and missed out on scythes...so...things basically began to change after rs2 became rs2. i mean...there was this whole sleeping bag thing for a while, then i stopped playing an entire two years, and when i got back into the game, people had changed. so now..i just keep my mouth shut and carry on doing my own stuff. and when people try to scam or call me noob, i say "work on it. that's the spirit." one thing to note though...i've realized that a lot of members - most of the mid level (i.e. up to the 80s and 90s max.) members never care to stand on someone else's viewpoints. basically what they do is squish all the young ones (in terms of levels) way down into the ground and tell them to stop being 'noobs'. and just how do you define noobs? we should get someone on tutorial island to start callin all the players noobs, just so they can get used to it; cos this is a chain reaction - once you get called noob, you call others noobs. it just goes on and on. so miniclip doesn't take full blame. we do. our minds do.
  4. sigh...don't think they will...though it's a bit silly, keeping all rares and god armour etc f2p-tradable keeping in mind that they only have 3k to make of each item. in 15 minutes. but then that's only a small glitch. jagex are happy they don't lose more members, members are happy they can keep earning, so why even complain about it huh?
  5. agreed. though i'm not in a position to speculate, i personally hope that jagex really do live up to their word and keep market prices fair and according to what the market really reflects. jagex have really shown how much they want to tune down the relative values of rares, as seen from their repeated introduction of member's items with sky-high prices. and members aren't helping too; they have their own valuable little toys to play with. apparently they don't care about f2p either - earlier today i was in varrock watching an amusing 'pink skirt riot' thing, and one or two p2p players were around to discourage rioters, telling them to 'go back and do quests or go fighting'. they probably wanted us to hack into a member's account and do his/her unfinished quests, or break into a members' server in search of the kalphite queen. but no matter what happens to rare prices, i think if jagex do tune down the prices, there will be consequences. some people like me will think it is something they have been working on without telling the public. and hopefully there will be protests. and i do hope if that happens, people who think we are wasting our time can go back to NOT wasting their time. we'll live our lives, and they can live theirs.
  6. i've always had a feeling that jagex are extremely anti-rare nowadays. so... they could always lower the prices gradually and say it's a 'natural decrease due to demand in the market' after January. i mean, the only ones who are going to suffer are all the players with rares, most of which are extremely rich players or players who have stopped playing. by doing this jagex can actually 'stabilize the wealth differences in the player population'? (regardless of the difference between f2p and p2p)
  7. ah am like 65 years old!!! omg no wonder i need a stick.
  8. yea ban all the 'old days' talk...lol typical reaction of players of the new generation. i still remember tip it from 3 years ago :)
  9. i agree that the rich guys should of course have more privileges. but there's something called charity, and sometimes people act without money in mind. jagex was nice enough to give f2p an occasional update, such as the security stronghold, and with them new items come along. the problem is that as they throw in occasional updates, bankspace has never increased for us. and now it's become very difficult to cope with. i think it's only logical to add a little bankspace along with the increase in items. and i've never seen, and never expect jagex to give us any new quests. so there you go; you guys are still way superior to us. so why object to a row of bankspace, when you guys have so much of that?
  10. and i bet some people in Africa have no right to ask for help from the UN either. you don't get it, do you? we're not asking for the same as members. we would never, ever dare to surpass you guys. (we're lowlier than you, if thats what you want). the problem is that as jagex throws in more updates for f2p, meager as they are, they aren't giving us any added bankspace. members get extra bankspace along with their updates once in a while. we've been coping all along, but now things are getting too difficult to accomodate. we hope you, and jagex as well, understand that money should never be the main issue here.
  11. yep put me on the list for sure. I don't really understand the part about showing you stats though.
  12. I understand how rich people would like to keep everything for themselves. Don't worry, if you're trying to see what profit (I think monetary terms will be easier to understand for you guys) you can get, ask clan members. And read through this thread - you guys CAN benefit from an update like this. And 'If you don't pay, don't expect anything in return'; if this applied to reality, the world would be a pretty sad place, with Greenpeace and co. gone and some parts of say, Africa, practically ignored. So I really support this idea but it's going to be hard to accomplish the 'letting people in' part cos that would be a lot of work. I think they could make a kind of list for house owners so they can set who they allow into their house.
  13. read man reeeeaaaaddd. when you've read all 79 pages of this, or at least the previous five pages, do come back with your argument. i will be pleased to repost my response, which is exactly three posts above yours and should have the approval of most f2pers. i don't think you should be too worried about this problem. if you really want to make it 1500 people, do come and support us next time.
  14. this is ridiculous. if you want something, you have to pay for it, its only $5 a month, thats nothing. this is a bigger load of [cabbage] than the ads about froot loops being "part of this balanced breakfast." the "balanced breakfast" shown would be healthier without froot loops. what im trying to say is that its obvious that only nonmembers discussed this. out of 10 f2ps, all 10 will say that they deserve it. out of 10 p2ps, 1 will pity the poor f2ps and vote for more f2p stuff, and the other 9 will ask why f2p should get something they arent paying for. f2p players who whine about a lack of bankspace generally have no intention of ever becoming a member, and are just leeches who dont contribute to the game. f2p doesnt need to keep all the junk, and they arent paying for runescape. its unlikely that f2p will get more bank space, face it. Please congratulate me on losing my appetite. Sometimes I understand why some people don't dream of being rich in the real world. I mean, if money really causes a wrong turn in your personality, can you afford it? In a way, being f2p did give me one small ability - to choose and be dedicated to ONE thing at a time. Members generally have problems with bank space too because they have various items for different skills in the bank. F2p have been coping fine in the past, by sacrificing the luxury of multitasking in a short period of time. But as Jagex adds more updates for f2p (I'd like to thank them for this), the bank space is getting really limited. So if you expect us to tighten the notch some more, I'm sorry, some things have a limit. As for f2p being a bunch of 'leeches', I'm sure we have a much larger mass and a healthier diet. And there are undoubtedly f2p pmods out there; I presume they must have started members and switched back to f2p to laze around and 'not contribute' to the game then. Oh by the way when I decide that my halloween masks are junk sometime in the future, I'll let you know. You sound like you're thirsty for some money, despite your level. A lot of you say f2pers are autoers. I'd like to ask you a question. If you were an autoer and wanted to make big money for your main, would you get membership for your level 3 guy who you will never put your heart in? I definitely wouldn't. Why waste the $5 per month when there's so many autoing opportunities in f2p? You can't blame us for the existence of those level 3 autoers. After all, they're just part of the f2p population. Unless all f2p pmods and f2pers owning phats and masks and santas are autoers. No offence, but you're right on most mid-high level f2pers not wanting to be members. For me, some rather unpleasant experiences have made me...um...rather uninterested in being a member. Take the time some member asked to buy my rubber chicken, and upon hearing it was untradable, called me a noob and jeered along with his lovely friends. Call me a noob all you like, but I would not like to be influenced to that extent. Yes, that is my impression of ALL p2p players (minus the 1/10 you mentioned). Runescape, minus scammers and bots, is supposed to be a multiplayer game, i.e. people interact with each other and help each other. I'd rather play the game under this impression rather than face stinky reality. But if money is that important to Jagex (bear in mind they had no members at the beginning), I'm willing to shut up and back off from the game. P.S.: Thanks for insisting on this little problem. After all, the more support the better.
  15. yo dude perhaps you could've at least read the first two pages and the previous two pages of this? stop starting arguments that have already been raised.
  16. man....they've discussed this a few pages ago. and even demos can be changed.
  17. yea i think it's important to keep the pressure going. we don't want the waves to settle down, do we? :)
  18. just as a sidenote...holierthanu reminds me of the Trunchbull in Matilda...haha children's fic i know, but still - "I was never a child!" lollll oh prankster i think holding the rally in varrock in world 3,4 or 5 would be great. i mean...storm the markets!!! more bankspace ftw!
  19. i'm sorry i didn't make it...alarm clock went faulty at the last minute...when i was asleep :( but i'm confident that you'll organize another rally, seeing as there weren't any j mods there. if you do, can you like set the time one to two hours later? cos 5a.m. is just too early for me...and i reallly wanted to come to this one. you could probably advertise on other forums next time...and tell clan members to get their f2p ppl to come too. we should do a whole marketful of people spamming away :D
  20. i've added Prankster, devnull and penguingeek if thats ok. i think i'll make it, even though its 5 in the morning for me :)
  21. penguin...there really is no need for you to argue on whether you're f2p/p2p. there is merely a difference in values in you and those two. as a member, it is only natural to insist on not giving others what they have as a privilege. it's a kind of basic reaction that originates from human stubbornness. boy, I've never seen a member who isn't proud of what he/she alone is entitled to. but sometimes, when that pride goes out of hand, things turn out really bad. I once had a member ask me if he could buy my rubber chicken, and when i stated that it was untradable, his immediate response was 'NOOOB!'. don't you see? members LOVE f2p players. we're provided by jagex for their members to tease, jeer, insult, and degrade right in those crowded places of world 1 varrock. i can't deny that in this topic some of the f2p people's statements did go a bit out of control. But lets not look at things with defiance. lets try some logic. i keep seeing these arguments about whether jagex makes money more from p2p or f2p. you know what, lets dump the whole idea of making money. do you honestly think money was what Andrew Gower had in his mind when he created the game? there weren't members at the start of runescape. was he trying to make money with a bunch of free players? no! what is the basic reason for people to create or invent? it's for the world to know about this creation, for the world to be able to use and enjoy this creation! now don't argue with me about the money. if money really is all jagex cares about, they cannot by any means be called human. but, as i said, as the name goes out, greed comes in. i won't be surprised if they continue to *pretend* to ignore this request. it would be nice to see people try to point out what they've done wrong, though. i wish you good luck, prankster. you have my full support (i've posted here three times already, so you don't need to add to the number of supporters)
  22. duh...they're just trying to make all f2p players to pay and be members. they're discouraging f2p players from getting to high lvls due to lack of bank space. when runescape was first started, there weren't even members. jagex is gradually changing...perhaps this is what happens whenever one becomes famous. the name gets out, the greed comes in. To keep it simple and stupid, money.
