  1. It's strange. This is second hand material, but also their best stuff.
  2. I want to be like Adio. Milk  Australia   the Wrestler  Encounters at the end of the world  (we walked away after 20 minutes, so you it's hard to judge, but what we saw was not so good) Mafioso (1962) Lust for Life  Johnny Guitar  (    ) Ace in the Hole  Rio Bravo  (    ) Ace in the Hole, Rio Bravo and Mafioso were rewatches.
  3. Emiliana Torrini. http://www.myspace.com/emilianatorrini Gun is a great song. :) I don't know if you're into this kind of stuff, though. [yt]QOLCXPRg650[/yt]
  4. At least it gives this thread something worth reading. You can't go wrong with a little Nighwish. So, maybe you should try them. They make symphonic metal, and they used to have a great singer. She broke up with the band, but they've got a new one now. Dark Passion Play is a great album, with Anette Olzon on vocals, but she can't beat Tarja in my eyes. My favourite Nightwish album is the classic Wishmaster. It's got the classic Dead Boys Poem. It's such an emotional song, it makes me cry every time I hear it. [yt]yOPqrG007Jo[/yt] One of the best songs ever. [edit] Azvareth is a fan as well. Maybe you can give him a PM on Nightwish. His knowledge stretches far. I heard he even drank a beer with their guitarist.
  5. Emiliana Torrini was great last friday. Although she does kind of go to far with her 'cuteness', but for this time it was okay. ;)
  6. Gee, I forgot making one. Stupid. I'm going to Amsterdam in an hour or so to watch all kinds of Oscar nominated movies (that I haven't seen yet) so I don't have time to make on today. :( Maybe somebody else can take over the stick for this year? :
  7. Is that a Dragonforce cover a Talking Heads classic?
  8. That was a pain. No they got rid of that. It's all automatic now to "cert" stuff. And you can cert everything, not just ore/fish. I wonder if the RS players know the history of those guys who used to cert stuff. Oh, that's way to easy. I always liked to cert stuff. Always lots of people in Draynor village, and everyone was in good spirit. Fishing guild was nice too. :)
  9. A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away I played a game called Runescape. I went to the website http://www.tip.it and clicked on the 'Runescape' button for information on the game, later I found out this website also had a forum. On this forum were weird people, so I did not come there. Later I figured out that signing up to that forum might be good for business. So I signed up. Later I stopped playing that game, and I went to the off-topic forum. And I never left. I wonder. Is a coal cert still worth 1K ? Or was it 2K? Hm. You could get an iron cert for 500GP and a coal cert for 1K, right? You sometimes sold the coal cert for 2K. That wasn't often though.
  10. Low You might have heard of them already. But, you never know. I think you'd like them. I could live in hope and Drums and Guns are things you should check out. :) You're a Radiohead man, aren't you? Check out Drums and Guns first, then. :) Dragonfly is such a fantastic song. Listen to it !

Just a little post to promote the N.A.S.A album: the Spirit of Apollo Which is a pretty cool record. It's got over 40 guest artists and some collaborations are quite surprising. I mean, who would expect Tom Waits and David Byrne on a hip hop record? Other guests: KRS-One, MIA, Santogold, Lykke Li, Ol' Dirty Bastard (he's back from the dead :') ), RZA, Method Man, Chuk D, John Frusciante and others! So, be sure to check it out.
  12. [yt]7Obc-NMr2mU[/yt] David Sylvian - Fire in the forest Yum, yum.
  13. Yesterday I received my first blu-ray, An American in Paris. A friend gave it to me with his take 3 get 4 warner coupons. So. I received that blu-ray. Sadly I don't have a blu-ray player. My friend Ralph does have a playstation 3, and he loves musicals. So..I went to see Ralph, and we had a great evening. A musical evening, a Vincente Minnelli evening and a blu-ray evening. We started out with An American in Paris, which was brilliant. It has got the best 17 minutes in celluloid hitstory, at least, that's what I think at this moment. Lots of other good songs as well. 12 cans of beer and some bacos later we saw Gigi, also on blu-ray. It was a bit of a dissapointment. I mean, it has perfect art-direction etc. but what I like so much about Minnelli's movies is that his camera swirls in such a beautiful way, especially with the dances, but the camera in this movie is pretty static. I also didn't really like the cynic undertone in this movie, I prefer the over the top happyness of Gene Kelly. Maurice Chevalier was brilliant though. But I always love him so that wasn't a surprise.
  14. Aha ! Your French ! I always knew there was something off about you. Elitist bastard. :D You forgot the Creme Brule. :P Nah, I'm not French, I'm from Holland. And hey! I'm not elitist (quite the opposite), I just like good food. :) My mother teaches French and we always go there on vacation, so maybe that's the cause.
  15. Friday the 13th (2009) Hmm, I loved it. It's exciting, funny, cool kills, some boobs. Everything a man wants. the Curious case of Benjamin Button This movie was also what I expected it to be. Horrible. It's nothing more than a cheap trick to win a lot of those golden statues. Creativity is banned from Benjamin Button. I can't believe people still fall for this [cabbage].
  16. When I'm listening to music I play an entire album. It's strange to keep changing discs every three minutes. When I have something in the background I just do some random stuff from the computer, most of the time. I always buy the real thing, and most of the time I rip them to the computer so that I don't have to change CD's all the time when I'm at the pc.
  17. Yea, especially older Asian movies are bad. They don't really store those movies with a lot of care (like you have with Hollywood films etc), so the sources are horrible and thus pretty hard to restore. Le Silence de la Mer is a really good version, I think. With exception of the opening (which is pretty damaged) it looks fantastic.
  18. You won't find any better. :) Masters of Cinema is UK's Criterion. It's my favorite collection. You can read reviews of their DVD's on dvdbeaver and DVDtimes. What are the movies you're thinking about? Has anybody else got pictures of their collection? It's always fun to poke your nose in other peoples collections. Nice collection by the way, Das. Not everything fits in with what I like, but there's a lot of good stuff! : And Captain N. Man, I loved that series when I was younger.
  19. Damn, 99% of that stuff looks horrible. I might sleep bad after seeing that. The snickers pie looks good though. Who would eat something like this... or this... I can't even look at this one.. I'm a sucker for cous cous, french cheese, tarte tatin, creme brule, escargots, onion soup, pasta puttanesca, frog legs, spare ribs, shrimp croquettes and tons of other stuff. I love food.
  20. I live in Holland, so I don't enjoy much of that good deal, I also don't have that super shipping stuff. :( I've got Rko 281, it's entertaining, but kind of twists things. What edition of Ben-Hur is it? The four disc? That one also has the orignal '25 version with it! I picked it up at an amazon sale last year for something like 16 bucks. I don't have a dvd collection online anymore, I used to have invelos, but they wanted money for that so I kind of dropped it. I've got some pictures of my collection though. (I just hate my lack of space) (This picture is a bit vague, I'm not much of a photographer as you may have seen :P) but next to the Masters of Cinema DVD's are: Apu trilogy, Satyajit Ray collection vol. 1 + 2, Un Chien Andalou, LAge Dor, Luis Bunuel Collection, Exterminating Angel, Los Olvidados, El, Ensayo de un crimen, Bill Douglas trilogy, Kenneth Anger vol. 1 + 2, Franz Zwartjes, Maya Deren)
  21. I should really replace my Citizen Kane with that warner 2-disc, mine doesn't even get the image right.
