I don't notice much of the people despise rap. That is more something of a couple of years ago. When there's a thread about rap music there's maybe one or two guys saying "rap sucks" or "I hate ©rap!)", and then he gets attacked by the majority of the board (that includes people who also listen to metal).

a little book on Rio Bravo and Howard Hawks by, the supposedly famous, Robin Wood. I'm a noob when it comes to film criticism. I was reading up on To Have an Have Not, and really like the author. It turnedout to be Robin Wood.

Hey Matok! That's been a while. Where have you been? Now playing John Cage - 4:33 the silence turned out to be a little bit longer than 4:33. I heard bad music all day at work, it really ruined my appetite for something good. It's been a while that I've played my Steely Dan albums, now is the right moment. Hmm, delicious.

Not much. Sometimes I receive a damaged item from amazon, but they always replace it. Only webshop for dvds and cds that I tend to avoid is cdwow. crappy service, they make promises they can't live up to. strange business goes on there.

At the moment.. 1. Bonnie 'Prince' Billy (and all Will Oldham's other names) 2. Low 3. Sun Kil Moon 4. Antony and the Johnsons 5. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds 6. Talking Heads 7. John Zorn 8. Vic Chesnutt 9. Dusty Springfield 10. Velvet Underground Something like that. Don't pay any attention to the numbers by the way, they are there so that I could see where I was when I was making this list.

In 481 pages I think this is the first time I read someone mentioning the Sugarcubes. Good stuff. :

I saw the Dark Knight for the second time, and I hated it. I would like to remove it from my list of good movies. I want to add Rachel Getting Married and Frost/Nixon.

A Woman Under the Influence. What a great movie, Cassavetes really was something else. Yesterday I saw Journey to the Center of the Earth, and it wasn't too good. I started off with the 3-d version. But I felt like an idiot. There I was, alone in bed, lights of, with a silly pair of glasses on my nose. And it didn't have much result either, the screen was either green or pink. Horrible way to watch a movie. So I switched to the normal version, which wasn't much better. It has zero atmosphere, zero suspense, bad actors, bad jokes, bad sets, predictable music. I was so bored during this movie that I paid more attention to the four walls around me than the movie. And how is it possible that the dinos of a 1994 movie look better than those of a movie made in 2008? I can't see anyone liking this movie.

I still don't know why this can't be in the other thread? Why do we need to have something for 'local bands'? I just think you want to be 'interesting' with all kind of 'underground' stuff. I think you've been moaning about local and underground before.
-
Yea, Cocteau Twins. Who doesn't love them. I think I mentioned This Mortal Coil earlier to you, Adio? That 4AD project, with Cocteau Twins, Dead Can Dance and other 4AD acts covering artists from the 60s and 70s.
-
do you prefer earlier autechre or later? I think I prefer their earlier work, with Tri as my favorite album. But their later, more abstract, stuff is great too.
-
Uh, I don't get this thread? local underground bands that split up or something? Who cares.
-
Autechre, of course. You can't go wrong with tri repetae. The ambient work by Brian Eno is a must as well. I think the Buddha Bar series is something you can appreciate as well.

Who? RIP, I guess.

I saw the first season, I really liked it. A bit of a strange atmosphere, but that's what everybody likes it for, of course. Good acting as well. Those HBO series really make you forget that you're watching something made for t.v. They look so good, have good music and great actors. It's a shame that I never got to see the second season, maybe I should get it on dvd/blu-ray one day. Great username by the way.

#5 Blindsided Good record, I do have to get used to the guys vocals though.

Feeling good. Just went to the city to pick up my records, and I ran into a friend, we decided to get an ice-cream together. They have got this wonderful coffee shop here in Middelburg. <3 They make their own icecream, so I had delicious yogurt/banana icecream. <3 And a cup of coffee. It was nice, because it wasn't planned. :

Yea, it's 'alright'. It's well made, but it doesn't really get me. And that while I've heard it at least 15 times. Good news, the new Andrew Bird album got released today! Here's a clip from his previous album. http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=hnXCzFnkxtY And this is a song from his new album... http://nl.youtube.com/watch?v=FDh3H6zAJDw There must be a few tipiteers that can appreciate him. :) What the hell, it came out a week earlier. I just missed it.

Sudden time changes, unknown passwords Can somebody help me?
How2PK replied to How2PK's topic in Tech and Computers
Trash boy, thanks for your information. It is appreciated, but I think it's better to to go a repair shop. I really don't know anything of computers or any other electric machines. I can microwave something, use an oven, e-mail and install a DVD player, but that's about it. I can only make things worse. -
