What ever did happen to Leesters? I remember him making the original archive of wisdom, and thinking to myself, that really should be a forum of it's own. Also remember him for his "bank of doubles" got 2 d chains ( when they were 15 mil each ) just for the withdraw convenience and look :P Never heard what happened to Duke Freedom also. I quit around that time so last I remember they were both in full force. Upon my return so many faces gone :(

Very good article. My favourite part was linking up to slot machines / pokies, it's very true and I do find myself, especially on RS, wanting to do another trip at bandos because "surely it'll drop this time." Luckily, I find bandos enjoyable, otherwise yes there would be a serious problem lol. As for the WoW related 0.001% chance drop, this is important for players to realise: Sure, the top gamers who are server first will sit there playing hour after hour, doing the raid every chance they get to maximise their chances at this loot, in turn allowing them to clear all raid content. However, Blizzard have implemented a system of 100% chance rewards with these emblems you get 100% of the time. In just doing this players can designate their time ( because it won't be based on chance ) and allow themselves gear pieces that WILL be enough to clear the related content. I am also thankful they give you a week to do a raid, heavily slowing down the time you need to play. Naturally, doing it this way will definetly slow you down in raid progression, but you will get there in the end with healthy levels of play. The game is not a race, unless, yes I will say it, you have no life - lol. Relating this drop % to RS: A big thing about drop percentage in RS is naturally GWD / Tormented demons / Corp. And in all of those places you should be doing it for fun. Of course TD's get hell boring, and I did find myself wondering why exactly I was still doing them. I do believe in the case of TD's, you deal with it in order to get the money from it to have fun in other aspects of the game, having said that perhaps you shouldn't spend so much time there after you get to a bored level. Besides that I think GWD and Corp are always fun, in the same way raid progression in wow is always fun ( with a group of mates ). There is a drop system in Pking as well, though other than EPers and Rushers I'm quite certain the guys out there are definetly doing it for the fun of it and not the drops. At least I do anyway. Fletching, cause back then yew logs were 200-250gp per and you could profit even after buying all the materials. Though I didn't get another 99 for 3 years because I never got the "fletch x" option. So evil ... don't know how I didn't go insane.

GF, lol. Top 1k of fletching and not even maxed. This was when I was playing and actually high score competing. No-one was anywhere near maxed. Rocks must become less and less frequent. I did mining and fishing first, and got both rocks within a load. After 8 loads of smithing I got nothing 70 Chinchompas down I've gotten nothing. 10 Loads of Runecrafting, nothing. So far I've completed 7 skills ( both rocks ) and 4 with 1 rock, and the rest nothing. I reckon the chances of rocks go down over time ... So do the skills you hate first.

Sigh, 0 stones for RC and smithing, it's getting stupid now after 15k xp in both.

They said in the blog about HP they wanted to make the game easier for those just starting out. So does this mean that early monsters will be hitting numbers that aren't multiples of team. For instance, they could hit a 5 which would have been a 0.05. This would allow Jagex to make the game easier for new players as they stated they wanted to. Because now they have the chance to do much less than 10% of a newcomers hitpoints. Any verification of a monster hitting < 10?

Jagex are releasing a new skill that will change the face of rs as we know it. It will affect combat and pvp, including pures. I think we wait until this update, as Jagex may already have the answer to these problems.

Wtf, how come the loot is so low? At 26 ep I got ancient stattuette, twice ... I think it depends on what your oponent is wearing and how high you hit. Cause I hit like 40 54 55 for ancient stattuette 26 ep. Also got seren at 6 ep proper pking. Bottom line, 76king real is fail when you can make much much more pking in 1/4 the time.

Wish some of the entries I saw followed the rules. the finalists are not completely amazing. Good. But not amazing. If I had to say a favourite I'd say the dwarf multi cannon, or the canoe one. I just wish Excl entered for fun with his dwarven stout beer ad, just to see how he went. Naturally he could pass the prize on to 2nd place. It's just out of all the vids I've seen that one seems most worthy of first place. Oh well, down to dwarf multi cannon for me ...

Whoa thank Ham, that's a very good insight into the premises of the skill. It kinda injurs my idea a bit, but I'm sure it can be expanded on. All that content makes the skill very difficult to guess ...

Later proved to be false. Reading more and more later pages within posts I see the skill maybe has something to do with combat? Eeep Oh well, my idea still stands because I like it.

We all know the new skill is coming out this year, and it will be in the first section of this year ( jagex said they had combat plans and other plans this year to implement AFTER they released the new skill ). So, it's really not that far off, could be a week, a month, or several months. I've seen many topics on what people think the new skill may be, based on known facts, and I have to admit some of the ideas are quite interesting. Brief recap of what we know. 1. It's not desgined to be a money sink 2. Completely different to what's been done before. There are others, but i think 2. is the main point of discussion. Now instead of going into huge detail, ( it's been covered before by intelligent posters, and done quite well ) we'll skip to the point. Based on evidence, what do you think the new skill will be, or hope the new skill to be. Here we can see other peoples ideas and can enhance our own. We will also have proof for the correct guessers in this thread when the skill arrives :P ---------- My short idea ( more so, what I want it to be ): An instanced quest area. Players can participate in groups ( or alone ) in certain portaled areas ( much like rs houses ) each time getting a random scenario which requires you to complete a quest like event. There will be many quest types, and the higher level you get the more you can unlock. Obviously my idea is a sketchy overview, but it's the basic idea. I really really enjoy the quest side of RS, and I know jagex do also. Implementing a quest like skill to me would be very awesome, perhaps even being able to unlock higher xp quests if you complete the true RS quests. --------- I'd like to hear fellow TIF'ers ideas. So if you have a cool concept or think you know what the skill may be, fire away :thumbsup:

Basically in response to you from myself and everyone: 1. Yes the game would be successful and balanced if you were to win the lottery and make it. It's the reason other MMO's have classes and it's through this they can affect the balancing system. 2. No it shouldn't be like that in RS. RS stands alone in it's uniqueness to having one character which can master everything the game has to offer. You're main character is a true avatar that experiences the entire game. For this reason, RS is both a success and a failure ( pking fail ).

20 / 2 / 10 Herblore is finished !! Woot :thumbsup: Working on Mining / Smithing now I think. But firstly some achivement diarys and pking. Here's my two days of pking after a 3 year break. I'm starting to see why the game has so much inflation .... reward > risk in bh worlds :thumbsup: ( Only posting ones above 1 mil. I am still kind of new to dealing with pjers ( it's so much easier now than it used to be in rs2 ) so these pictures will just have the rewards after I leave the wild. In future pictures I will try to show the ko's. [ I do enjoy pking again, and will continue my time in BH worlds.
