Kalphites are a burthorpe assignment so you cant change it. Just kill the lowest level kalphites and youll be done in 10 minutes if youre alone, and thats being generous with time to complete. Just imagine getting assignments of nearly 300 kalphite...

Nothing, new skills always have new items to go with them. If they dont like construction, jagex will give a heads up of what items to stock up on. For farming jagex released the seeds before the skill was available to actually train so people knew what to stock up on then too.
