  1. seconds makes more sense though, since the runescape clock is based off of ticks which are more easily compared to seconds than minutes. pretty sure that's why he used seconds. you're just being pedantic. please stop.
  2. God knows I am right and so would you if you tried it. But, don't try it, instead argue with me about something you know little of. Everybody else is. stop being such an efficiency troll, let them do it their own way. it's a game, not everything has to be about getting 9001 gigabils an hour. o shi-
  3. we know that robe bottom >= yellow phat as evidenced by bedman's trade.
  4. rocktail are better gp and xp, and less effort
  5. fixing the price of rares would only make rwt worse lol. what they need to do is make phats update more than 3% a month. reopen the 5% limits and allow it to update more frequently based on open offers unfilled.
  6. well here's what you'd need to do. for a white you need a red plus yellow (ish). a red is worth a green plus a couple pumpkins. - buy a green phat for 2b, dispose of 1.5b junk. - buy two pumpkins for about 400m each, dispose of 600m junk. - trade green plus two pumpkins for red - trade yellow plus red for white and to the above poster - it's not about excluding the new guy. it's that there are so many new guys and so few old guys wishing to part with their hat (which they may never see again if they do) that the new guys have to compete to get them. the prices go up because some people are willing to pay more than you would for a hat.
  7. No - I am comparing social behaviour at said spots with social behaviour in the outside world. which is ridiculous - imagine if i told you to stop shooting people in call of duty because it's antisocial. hint: it's not antisocial to shoot people IN CALL OF DUTY. in real life it is because the social norm is to not shoot people. in call of duty the social norm is to shoot people. in runescape the social norm is to kill monsters.
  8. i believe you are the one comparing runescape monster spawns to real life. PS: "pixels" argument gets you nowhere, because the pixels which obviously don't matter (trollface.png) shouldn't be a concern to you, either.
  9. unstable equilibrium. in other words, it wouldn't work. all it takes is one person crashing and goodbye stability - you will revert to the society driven by rational egoism (homo economicus).
  10. my point was that a number, or even the majority, believing in something does not make it so. and i don't think the community has really changed that much since 2007 (which was the last huge change in community orientation [clan chats, GE, and removal of traditional pvp], in my opinion), i think it's mostly that you and i have grown older and now expect a different community than what it has been. crashing has always had the same meanness about it - since the first time i was "crashed" at the hero's guild blue dragon in 2003 or 2004 by a guy with wind strikes - it's always been the same. but now that so many more parts of the game can be crashed (more bosses = higher odds that in a given hour of playing time you will experience a crasher), we notice it more. oh, and if you think that societies function because of selflessness, then you are probably wrong.
  11. It is interesting to note the number of players who have all pretty much reached the same conclusions I have with respect to the adverse effect that rudeness is having on the game. Is it not? argument: if a reasonable number of outspoken individuals reach a particular conclusion, their conclusion must be founded. example: a majority of united states congressmen and women, whose opinions are well heard above those of a regular jackoff, concluded that invading iraq would be a good idea. therefore, their conclusion was founded. to directly refute your anecdotal evidence, i have some anecdotal evidence of my own: i have more and better friends in runescape than i did 5 years ago.
  12. is it odd that i don't care if others are rude, crass, or vulgar? i don't play this game to meet nice people. i play for fun which, more often than not, for me involves pummeling the crap out of tough monsters and forcing them to unhand their valuables.
  13. that's like saying jagex created logs with a burn option, and when you chop a tree you get the log and what the player does with the log is up to them here are a few examples of emergent gameplay i think could have been stated (but were not): alching while stunning hunter kit while string jewelry offer-x with yak and using take-bob (fixed) using rune thrownaxe on KQ (fixed) one-clicking sorceress' garden use of ice-blitz to stack hits (fixed) fletching bolts while firemaking/fishing/woodcutting alching while firemaking/fishing/woodcutting manipulation by buyouts street prices as well as others, of course.
  14. ya jagex nerfed my rcing from 99 to 79 i have an excellent memory so obviously they nerfed it. roll back my rc to 99 pl0x
  15. how much junk are we talking? if it's 50m ish, now is an epic time to convert street to cash. 50m street will get you 28m cash.
  16. lol i worked damn hard for what i have. one year ago i had less than 200m to my name. with a ton of boss hunting and a little ge sniping i worked my way up to a green partyhat and a divine spirit shield. how can i hoard if i don't even have multiples, lol? OP is like 5x richer than i am anyway, if anyone i'm the poor noob lol. and as others have said you should really consider every other option (including just making more money!) before you sell to the ge (or trade red for divine and ge the divine). other options are selling your red for many many fury kits (20+), then trading the fury kits one at a time for stock (probably a hundred mil or so) of a freshly bought out item, then sell the item at 2x and reap the profits. this strategy is risky because it involves putting a lot of your street into an item which has questionable integrity of street value.
  17. http://www.google.com/search?q=%22runescape%2C+land+of+a+thousand+barrels%22&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
  18. buy a yellow phat inb4 you can't buy phats for cash obviously i would get the street and buy it
  19. i would spend that week working a job, so i can earn $400 at like minimum wage so i could afford to have members for the next 6 years
  20. I'm sorry but how do I end up with 400m from that. Does the seller add another 400m cash to his offer or do I go and sell off the items for cash?! blue phat - 595.8m red phat - 477.5m total ge value of what you are giving: 1,073.3m half wine - 77.2m yellow phat - 459.4m total ge value of what you are getting: 536.6m so that means the guy you are trading will need to add 536.7m cash to balance the trade. should be enough for 99 herb and prayer i think [hide=PS: PLEASE if you are going to sell any phats in the ge, here's how you can get more gp] well if you were to just sell, say, your red phat (the least valuable) in the ge, you would get 482.2m (max price) BUT if you traded the red partyhat (477.5m mid price) and 80.4m cash/items to me for a divine spirit shield, you could then sell the divine for 585.8m max in ge. subtracting the 80.4m cash/items you had to trade, you would now have 505.4m, which is 23.2m more than if you just sold the red phat in the ge. this is because partyhats only have a 1% difference between mid/max, while spirit shields (and most other items) have a 5% difference.[/hide]
  21. i normally don't hold onto drops. i just want to get 100k in my bank from it piling up (haven't sold it in a while)
  22. you would need a faster connection
  23. small goal i've been working on think i'm gonna try slaying less to work more on fremennik elite and 99 dungeoneering, fming, and construction. next slayer related goal is 100k pure ess from slaying (at like 44k atm)
