Generally you always want to list the items needed, as well as your own personal recommendations that isn't on the Quest guide (for example, a bath in the Oo'glod due to the amount of running you'll be doing), skills required, NPC's involved, and steps required to do the quest. The steps can be split into two versions, the first can go like: "Make A by using this on B, then go talk to C, ask him about the Skill D and he will send you to E to find F" Which basically tells you exactly the happenings of your every step. Or it could go like "Use A on B, talk to C, go to E and click on F" Nothing but exactly what you need to do with the mouse cursor. Least amount of spoilers for the guide reader, and the least amount you have to read for those who don't care about the lore. Generally a guide goes one or the other, but sometimes both, though it is recommended that you split both versions
