  1. I repeat this is not a general complaint about membership please keep the discussion to the new dragon items.
  2. Don't get me wrong, this is not a general complaint that members get better items than F2P. I accept that P2P pays for what they get like better armour and almost 3 times as much map space, I just don't like how there are increasing differences in skills.
  3. to respond to your idea that Jagex will stop doing RS updates I think you're wrong. Considering Runescape is the third largest MMORPG in the world, I doubt they would try to get rid of a good thing. However, maybe RS3 is around the corner?
  4. sorry thinking of the wrong post.
  5. click on the tinderbox (firelighter?) and then use it on whatever logs you want to burn in your inventory
  6. This post is for the discussion of the new dragon items, hatchet and 2h, as well as suggested future items. I will start with my own opinions. I think that the creation of new dragon weapons and armour is just a natural progression to keep high levels interested in the game. Miners and woodcutters have complained enough to get their fair share of dragon items as well, at least the woodcutters have. Jagex is going to encounter two major problems with this pattern. First is the fact that rune is only fully smithable at high levels around 95, I don't know off hand. We can assume that after Jagex introduces a full dragon set, they will move on to a better type of armour and slowly release that. This will leave dragon items as non-smithable items which I don't believe works well for weapons and armour. Second is the release of dragon items little related to combat, the dragon hatchet and presumably the dragon pickaxe. As a F2P player who was once a member, I believe that this is taking the difference between P2P and F2P too far. It was fine when there were members only skills or items but having a members only tool for a skill available to F2P doesn't seem fair at all. It gives members in the skills of mining and woodcutting a distinct advantage over F2P. I realize that all the above paragraph is defunct if it's proven that the dragon hatchet does no better job at cutting than the rune axe. Edit: Underlined portion important but not true, dragon axe chops wood as fast as rune Please post you comments and discussion. No flaming please.
  7. Sounds French to me, ar-doan
  8. w0w!!!111!!!! run 2hs wer rely ekspencive then!!!!11!!!!1 Does ne1 no how muhc barros was then?? lol. Just kidding all. :P
  9. Lol  . Opinions all of us. I am willing to concede the point as I am neither an expert in economics nor was I around for the actual event. Although I somewhat doubt the outside duplication of items by a hacker.
  10. Both of you are right. Twiceborn; if people refuse to buy items at a higher price, the price will adjust to match demand regardless of supply. Rollerjam; any one person could set the price by offering a lot of expensive items at a lower cost Personally I side with rollerjam because he has more evidence. If a market is flooded with supply, like with rune 2h's and early smithers, the price will go down because supply is closer to matching demand. The 'keeping up with the Jones'' effect will always make people pay more for items that are new. This could counteract the supply-demand relationship but only temporarily. An example of supply vs. demand: When I was in members, Jagex released the Ta Bwo Wanni (spelling?) minigame. I was one of the first people to make it to the update area and managed to buy machete's en masse. Once people arrived and were all competing for the occasional spawn of a machete in the nearby shop, I could sell my wares. I managed to sell nearly two dozen machete's bought at 4 gp each for near 1k each. Why? Because demand far outstripped supply and everyone was excited to get to see the new update.
  11. macroers ruin the economy and make the game less enjoyable. Yes' it's a video game but it should at least be fun.
  12. Hey, while we're at it why don't we make a statue of Zezima? Hell, why dont we rename Varrock Zezima? And Falador The Old Nite? Cmon people, Jagex is not going to idolize one player over another no matter what happened to them or how good they were.
  13. Did anyone else notice that all the pm's are to and from the same person? This 'scam' is made up for a few cheap laughs.
  14. MiniClippers I actually started RuneScape as one myself but unfortunatly I found myself to be the exception, not the rule to most players in the game. Marketing to Miniclip was probably the worst thing Jagex could have done to the community.
  15. Usually I don't feel like i need to discuss these articles but this one hit the nail on the head. As a teenager, I find that it's very easy to pick up habits. When I first started runescape, I adopted the e-language, but I began to get scared  when I started typing my english papers with "u" and "r" instead of 'you' and 'are.' Fortunatley I managed to kick the habit and decided to type in proper english in all my playing to improve my typing skills. As a challenge to myself, I decided to try to find how much faster my typing got with almost daily practice in proper english. 3 months since I started my experiment, I have improved by 7 words per minute from 38 to 45! On a side note, what was said about the language you're exposed to is the one you pick up is completely true. As I said above, I began to pick up the e-lingo. What has stuck with me however is the spellings on the Jagex website. Jagex is a British company and I am an American. Soon I began spelling words with "extra" u's like 'armour' and 'colour.' I have also began forgetting whether in America words like 'realize' are spelled with a z or a s. Keep the Times articles coming!!!!!!!!!!
  16. hmmm......a wannabe nostradamus? lol  . I think some of the predictions are true except for the one about items dropping in price. I doubt that items will drop in price very much at all because of the updates. Instead I think that the drop in price will be because of the suffusion of the market with more and more rare items. It's the natural course of markets. I don't doubt that there will be a small change but I think the items might actually go up in price ofr a while and here's why. When new items are created, they're always horrendously overpriced. This will cause a flurry of sellers of rare items like whips to raise their prices in order to fundraise for the newest, shiniest items. Eventually the price of rare items will normalize and so will the price of the rare item.

  20. OK let's get this out of they way first, I've had full rune 4 times.....and lost it 3 times. Feel free to flame me for this. Here is my story...... ....it all began when I was a noob. Wandering around Lumbridge, killing goblins I couldn't help but notice the guys with that neat blue armor. One of them talked to me and asked me if I wanted to go to the Wilderness. Of course I agreed, a player with such wonderful armor couldn't possibly lead me wrong. He took me into the deep wildy and killed me. This was the first of a counted 18 deaths. I made sure that I was going to do better next time in the wildy so I made Bronze stuff, just like they taught me on Tutorial Island. With my shiny new armor I rushed into the wilderness......and got killed again........by the same person. Well I'd had enough of that so I decided to make some money. Two long months later I became a member. Making bowstrings, I made an easy 300k. I was going to do that Dragon Slayer Quest and get my Full Rune. Some kind player in the Varrock Bank was selling full rune, weapons and all, for a mere 350k. I eagerly went and sold all my items to get that 50k and bought my shiny armor. Finally, Full Rune!!!!!!!!!!! I felt invicible, nothing could stop a lvl 48 in his full rune, not even Elvarg! I rushed into Elvarg's lair and attacked. I dodged his fire attack and slashed at his hide. Taking the hit hard Elvarg lashed out with his tail and dealt me a mighty 9 damage. That wasn't a problem, I had my food...my food.....in the bank....oh yeah. Then all went dark. I woke up in a daze in Lumbridge. I was surrounded by staring noobs. "Look!" one said "He just teleported here!" Suddenly I had a dozen noobs surrounding me! "Can I have some Law Runes?" "Where's Varrock?" "What kind of armor is that?" Screaming madly I ran away from the noobs, sure I would never go to Lumbridge again. I had kept only my rune sword, helm, and leggings. "I know!" I said aloud "I'll go to the wilderness and PK until I have enough money to buy back my Rune!" Once again I rushed into the Wilderness an invincible lvl 48.......with no food. Crap, not again! I died leaving my full rune behind with that wierd skull over my head. I wasn't going to be bested this time. I went at Runescape with a vengence earnining 300k more in just a day. I bought full Rune and rushed into the Wilderness again.....and died. That's two sets down. No matter, I would work this time. I enrolled in the ranks of The Pick Mining and Smithing Company. Working up through the ranks I earned my money mining, an honest occupation. I got my full Rune for the third time, this time at a cheap 250k. I would train this time. Going to Karamja I attacked Lessers. Man was I thirsty.....I think I'll get a drink upstairs, I'm doing fine fighting this guy. ... ... What? Why am I back in Lumbridge? Crap OK calm down you still have your three most expensive...... Where'd that skull over my head go? OK....OK....OK.....not all is lost, only all of your money, and the armour and your Amulet of Strength that cost you 10k. This time I was going to be careful. I made myself some easy Iron armor, strapped it on and went killing moss giants in the Varrock Sewers. Countless giants later, I was a mean lvl 54 and ready to take on Elvarg. With two weeks of members left I bought full Rune, and a full inventory of swordfish. This time I was going to take down Elvarg. Heading to Brimhaven I set out for his volcano lair. I walked through the gates, a little unnerved by the walking skeletons (only a little scared....and my armor did not suddenly become damp, in the legs.) I faced Elvarg. With a mighty yell I lunged at him with a controlled stab. The blow hit him a 7. With a roar he belched out fire at me. I barely had time to bring up my shield before the attack hit me. Hah! A mere 3 damage. Next I made and agressive slash, slicing his wing, another 7. Faltering Elvarg slashed at me...and missed. The battle raged on for 5 more minutes. I had exhausted my food supply and was wearily fending off Elvarg's blows. With a suddden surge of strength I took my longsword and ran him through. Without a sound Elvarg slumped to the ground. It was done. Elvarg was slain and I had kept my full Rune! Walking jauntily out of his tomb I met another Dragon Slayer coming in. "Good Luck" I chuckled seeing his full Rune and his confidence....as a lvl 47. Hope you liked my story. I still have the set of full Rune I killed Elvarg in. Before I could upgrade to Dragon armour, my membership ran out. I'm back in F2P until next summer. But when I get back the first thing I'm doing is buying full Dragon. The Daggonoth King is going down! Editors note: This is an actual account of the events in the life of Imhomer. When He did get back to members he bought that full Dragon.....and lost it battling the Daggonoth King. He is now raising funds once again for a new set.
  21. What do you think will happen after they remove the word noob? I'll tell you, people will come up with a new word that means the exact same thing. Eventually it will catch on and it will be the same thing all over again. If it really bothers you that much you should just put people who say it on your ignore list. On another topic, remember '[bleep]'? There are about 6 different ways to spell around it: fkuc fauk fcuk ufck fuk fck people will find the same things to od for 'noob' and it will irratate people more because there will be even more regular words that people can't spell because of the censor. Give it a rest man, it's a hopeless cause.
  22. Haven't you ever played a game and then wanted to start over from the beginning? It's called replay value and RuneScape has a lot of it. This would take away the replay value and the value of RuneScape in general. Besides, how would you make sure people make only one account? Many people can log in from public computers like schools and libraries.
  23. smithing 2k steel bars for my mining company. Check out my post MagnaMining Corporation in the Pick n' Apron Forum. I'm still hiring!!
