New sig, haven't done person yet but I need ideas on what to do with the sky (the upper left is for the person's name.)

Ok the past few pixels I've done have been about fishing so they've been near the ocean. Because of this, I have run into trouble shading sand and water. Yes, the search button is my friend but he would only give me old threads where people commented that the creator needed to work on the sand or water in their sig without giving suggestions. I've looked at almost all of the pixelling tutorials and they don't really mention a strategy. So please, if you have any pointers about shading sand or water please leave them here.

ARRRRRRRRRRRGH!!! :shock: Please take the 5 min it will take to crop those pictures and save us the headache. Also, please use the same post for all your pictures, it's easier to see them that way.

1. Go to a site that uploads pics, imageshack is good. 2. Click on the "Browse" button and choose which file on your computer you want to upload 3. Click the "Host it" button 4. Copy the direct URL address, it should be the one on the bottom. 5. Put in the tags with the URL between them and Voila! YOur picture appears.

7/10 All the objects in the room are great but it still seems kinda empty, especially in the lower left corner. Something as simple as a rug will do well to add some contrast. The only other thing that needs improving is shading. Your main light source looks like the fireball but the shading doesn't really reflect that. I can see you did shading, which is great, but the contrast between the light and dark areas is too low and keeps your sig looking a little 2d. Hope this helps.

Excellent story. I'm with archimage_a, the fight scenes were could but you could have done more with them, they got kinda repetative. Can't wait to read the next part (more decapitations? :twisted: ).

Cmon Aussie, cut him some slack. Personally I give it a 4/10. The proportions on the person are pretty good and the road isn't too bad. The bamboo (is that bamboo?) needs a bigger color gradient so you can see the sections better. The grass needs a little work but otherwise is ok. The thing he's riding.........well I haven't done the quest so I have no idea what it's supposed to be, I would reccommend you try to get more detail on it. Your biggest problem is the sky. The sky is utterly dull. The sun looks half-assed, wither make the lines out of it thicker or get rid of them. The transition between the horizon and sky is hard too. Try putting a few more trees in the way to break up the skyline. Clouds do a great job at filling up and empty sky too. Next shade the sky, make sure it's lighter around the sun than away from it. The final thing you need to work on is shading. A little shading goes a long way at making your pictures look 3D My advice: Work on details, the sky, and shading. Also consult at least one if not more of the tutorials on this forum. There is a great one by Terley that I would highly suggest.

This may not belong in this forum but I've seen a lot of peole with animations in their sigs. I was just wondering how you do animations and what program?

Don't take this the wrong way but lots of the siggers here are pretty bitter that they can't sell anymore. Saying what type of render won't win you any points with them. You're going to have to go out onto the internet and post a link to the image you want. I would do one for you but I have no skills in abstract or grunge. Edit: "apreciated" in your title is spelled wrong, it has 2 p's

Yes, I realize there is an overpowering urge in some of you to flame, but please at least give me something to improve upon instead of just a #/10. It's C&C, not rating. So far 4 ratings with 22.5/50 or an average of 4.5/10.

Ahmen mah brotha! :lol: I give it a 5/10. It's pretty empty aside from the main action, there needs to be more background than mountains and a sandbox or whatever that is. As for the blend tool, yes it is against the "Pixeler's 10 Commandments". Many people see blending as cheating on shading. I like the job you did on the sand despite the blending. The line work overall is pretty good although there's something wierd about his cape. My suggestion: Add some trees, don't use blend, and keep on trying. Edit: fixed pic

You mean the lower right or is the "plant" my starfish? :? The green stuff is supposed to be seaweed washed up on shore but I don't know how to make that more clear.
