  1. I like the idea, but I think it should be from like 60, then 70, then 80, etc., because for a lot of people reaching 60 in a skill is a big achievement. Also if you just set the capes for lvl 99 then that is a large step and the best way to stay motivated is to have small goals and keep setting them, so I think lvl 99 is too big of a gap for some people to stick with a skill. Also if it was based on lvls in groups of 10, it should just be one cape, but it would just be updated when you reach the next 10th lvl. Kind of like military ranking, add a couple stars to the cape (I really have no idea how the markings indicate rank, I just know they do), or something along that line.
  2. Nope, nothing better than leather boots. And yes, dragon vams are the best gloves, but not by much, so if you want colored gloves or something else go for it!
  3. The best action game with an RPG element is definitely Ninja Gaiden Black (you could lvl up weapons, I made a wooden sword into a death machine!). But as for the real RPG I'd have to say FFVII, and both of the KOTOR's (Knights of the Old Republic, what can I say I'm a big SW fan).
  4. Getting that str bonus won't affect your pures combat, the defence experience will but you want it anyway. Reward: 18,650 str and def exp. say yours stats were: 1 att 1 str 33 def (only up to 18500 exp, any further and you go over 40 def from the def reward) 45 range 45 mage (not sure about these, but this is hypothetical anyway) 40 hitpoints (just a guess) Before the quest: 40 combat After the quest (with 33 str and 40 def): 41 combat (only affected by the gain of the 7 defence lvls) Since your combat lvl is affected by your str/att, def/hp, range, magic, and prayer having a certain amount of str won't raise your combat at all. You would have to gain about 34 more lvl of str and att (both added up together, so like 20 att and 14 str) to lvl up. The best part is: you dont even gain any HP exp from the strength lvling, so you combat will still stay lower. Anyway I hope you understood what I was trying to say, and basically in this post I just wanted to show you that you should do this quest if your wanting the green d hide body (nice range bonus!).
  5. when i beat him i was only 46 combat the main stats i used: 30 att 40 str 40 def 45 hp(?, not sure about that one) I wore: addy b-axe range leather armour (the plain stuff you can make at like 1 crafting, lol) anti-fire shield I beat him but it took me two round rounds of lobs to kill it So i think you can beat it with your stats
  6. I did it with the normal range leather, and a hardleather body (lol), so I don't think better armour is nescesary (oh and I had an antifire shield). Mind you it did take me a couple lobster runs.
  7. The official worlds for combat would be kind of sketchy, think of all the skillers! The only way I see it working would be for non-combat skills, because anyone could have 70wc, but only people with a certain str/att/range, etc. could get into the combat worlds. But anyway interesting article.
  8. They mean: "you want to team up together and kill people?" If you do become a "team" you have to watch out because they might just turn around and kill you. Or you might become the best of friends, who knows?
  9. Full rune - 40 def, 40 att (for weapons) Usually costs 200k, give or take a couple thousand As for the chickens: through training three stats up to 15/20 you collect a lot of feathers. That's actually how I made my first 30k. Runecrafting: for non-members it is pretty time consuming, but once you get up to like 33 (4x airs) its alright to make money, but I'm sure there are better ways. Smithing: The Knights Sword quest give you like 12k exp in smithing (thats almost enough to smelt steel). So just do that one quest and do a little more smithing, then just mine your ores to start off making steel bars which sell 600ea. Good way to lvl mining, and get some smithing exp.
  10. What I did was train on chickens from 1-15/20, then I made my own leather armour and went off to fight the Dark Wizards south of Varrock from about 20-40 (got lots of good runes too from these guys, ended up with magic around 45, barely anytime wasted crafting airs). From there up you could go fight guards, or try hill giants. After that I am not quite sure because it's been a while for me too, and my new guy is more a ranger, so different training I guess. So basically: 1-20 chicken 20-40 Dark Wizards
  11. Give me a bow and some arrows! Oh wait thats not very creative :( . Or how 'bout a sword? No, people with those just get shot. I have it!! A red dragon. Think of the possibilities. And how cool would that be to be a dragon breeder.
  12. Oooo, sounds interesting. Or maybe when that happened Jagex would evolve into super whiz's and conquer all! OMG mind boggling. As far as them actually dying out, well I really can't see that happening too soon, unless Bush orders it, lol.
  13. When I went to the Falador hairdresser I noticed a big treadmill with a hampster powering it, lol. Not sure if its new but I just noticed it.
  14. Funny story: I trained my defence on chickens until about 25, then I got some leather armour and trained on Dark Wizards south of Varrock to 40. I got a bunch of runes (500 nats!, 1k minds, etc...) and the ones I didnt want I sold to the rune store, I got around 10k from selling all the unwanted runes for 6ea. *Note: Definitely don't wear metal armour around these guys, I actually once saw a guy in full rune die there. And bring some food, just like trout or salmon, if you wear leather armour they generally don't hit too much.
  15. Yeah you can make a profit not a big and quick one but it can be done. One example is moss giants: you bring nats (300ea?) and you don't have to bring a lot, but then just alch the black squares you get from drops.
  16. Lol, sry I just had to laugh a bit. But anyway I havent really noticed anything hidden, but those new randoms sounds fun. What would happen if a random was a hidden update  ? That would certainly be interesting.
  17. What are the chances of this happening? Two trees and the first one he cuts...
  18. Ever tried Masters of Might and Magic: Quest for the Dragon Bone Staff (i think thats what it is) for the PS2? Well it should burn in sucky game hell! Another bad one was probably Pirates! for the Xbox, at first it was good but after the first hour of gameplay it became super repetitive. If you want a good game play Ninja Gaiden Black! Probably the hardest and funnest game ever, took me so long to finish it, and that was just story mode. I am not even close to finishing the missions.
  19. I do believe that you are right ^. Anyway the two f2p quests that give magic exp are Imp Catcher and Witch's Potion, both super easy (buy the beads from other players for Imp Catcher). With those two quests you should definitely get to lvl 10 magic.
  20. That's me with a bow slashing a web! Actually I just had a dagger in my inventory and use it on the web to cut it, but I think it looks alright.
  21. Sounds like a lot of fun, but I've never been to a party before (on RS), so who's bringing the drinks?
  22. The new engine is great, and I'm really looking forward to what they plan on doing. That first time logging in was weird because all of a sudden there was sound, I thought I was out of it, but nope, The Music is everywhere! Anyway for those of you who'd rather listen to something else just mute your SW Synth (just go to Volume Control and you should be able to check it off).

Yeah those games are pretty rad. I actually don't own a gameboy, but ROMs are just as good, and then I get to listen to all my music on the comp., not the shoddy game music.
  24. What a great story! And I love the imagery of the title, I can just see you taking a rune dagger and cutting to his heart and breaking it with your lvl 99 str  Seriously though, what do these people think when they act dumb like that, is it just natural or do they have to work that hard to be that mentally deficient?
