On girls: Breasts are fantastic. Like, really fantastic. I guess it's not appropriate to go into too much detail, but, they're so squeezable and bouncy and so much fun! And also that really curvy bit from the waist down to the hips. That's also great. On guys: The chest as a place to lean is wonderful. It just feels soft and secure. Also, their... nether regions.. are fun. On both: Eyes. If you have intense eyes, that's all you really need.

Hahaha, that site is wonderful. I do believe some of what is said in jest, though - for example, that we have a system of belief and then believe it to an absurd degree. For example, religious fundamentalism or rationalism or postmodernism. Of these, the "truths" we believe are relative and arbitrary - a religious fundamentalist will defend their beliefs by saying that faith is all that's needed, and a rationalist will defend their beliefs by insisting on "proof" with the scientific method, and a postmodernist will defend their beliefs by saying that all beliefs need context. Of course, I say this from the perspective of someone with a postmodernist paradigm, so maybe that itself should be taken with a grain of salt :P

On the war stuff: 9/11 was a terrible tragedy, and it was a mass murder. However, vilageidiotx is correct to say that the war in Iraq and 9/11 are NOT connected. Saddam Hussein was never connected to Al Qaeda. There have been a tremendous number of civilian casualties in Iraq - homes destroyed and blown up - so don't give the "we're more civil" argument. We're more civil about how we murder people? Yeah, right. We need to make significant efforts to drastically reduce civilian casualties if this war is going to continue Additionally, plenty people who lost friends and family in 9/11 are pacifists. So back off. On the original post: You don't much sound like an anarchist to me. I've been involved in discussion with genuine anarchists, and their opinions have a great deal of validity. Believing very strongly in the Constitution's Bill of Rights, and also small government, sounds to me more libertarian than anything else. But libertarianism and anarchism are closely related, except that anarchism has less of a belief that the state should have strong defense, and is much more interested in social justice (the means of which would be by focusing on the small community, and not the national picture with all its institutional biases). You might be interested to read some classics of anarchist literature. From Emma Goldman to Noam Chomsky, it's interesting stuff. riding around in the skatepark and hating the police isn't actually anarchism - but anarchism IS an interesting belief system, and highly worth reading more about. I'd recommend continuing to delve deeper into some of these issues :)

These kind of responses just reinforce the double standard. A 14-year-old boy isn't "normal" if he isn't sexually interested in his neighbour who is more than twice his age? And a girl is never interested in a man twice her age? A boy must think about and desire sex constantly, but a girl shouldn't? BS, please. Her metaphor was perfectly valid. If a relationship between a 30 year old man and a 14 year old girl is inappropriate, so is a relationship between a 30 year old woman and a 14 year old boy.

Most important: must be intelligent and intellectual. I cannot deal with someone who is significantly less so than I am. Also important: interesting, perhaps complex, person. "Niceness" is not a prerequisite, but if you're not nice, you better at least be interesting about it. Also important: physical chemistry. I don't care much how "objectively attractive" you are, but we have to have a physical spark. I've been with guys I think are gorgeous who I just haven't had good physical relations with, and guys I think are mediocre looking (didn't tell him that :x) but was totally made up for by the fantastic sexual chemistry. Being a little bit geeky is a plus. Being nihilist is a plus. Being Jewish is a plus. Being interested in radical politics is a plus. Being too into sports is a minus. Being too muscular is a minus. Sending me corny text messages or flowers is a minus. Spending a lot of money on stupid things is a minus.

Heh, a fair enough point. Oh, please. I was kind of with you until that last part there. 70% of girls probably ARE idiots. But don't think that men are any better; I think the 70% idiot rate in the population is pretty gender non-specific. - A girl who doesn't wear makeup, doesn't enjoy shopping, enjoys sex, does not care about your Sunday game, and is reasonably intelligent.

To be honest, I'm a big fan of hair. Longer shaggy hair is especially attractive to me. However, I would never rule someone out based just on their hair, like I wouldn't for any other physical characteristic. One of my friends realized a couple of years ago that he was starting to bald, and started using one of those expensive treatment things - and it's worked. He hasn't lost any more hair :D But you need to start early (BEFORE you lose the hair) if you want it to work (the commercials lie). It *has* worked for him. I think the general idea is that you can't actually build up new hair, but you can help retain the hair you already have. But only do what makes you feel comfortable. :D And don't stress too much :D

The STEP sounds really cool. :shock: I'd love to take it... as long as I could do so for fun and without it actually affecting my future life prospects :D It reminds me of the Putnam Exam, a 12-question test for university students. It's not for placement or anything, but for fun, and if you do well, for glory :P. You can earn up to 10 points on each question, for a total of 120 points. The median score among test-takers (really smart math students!) used to be 0 but has now increased to 1. :P The MCATs are so ridiculous. My friends who are going into their junior year of college are already studying for them all the time. I took some practice questions from one of their books recently before realizing I didn't know Organic Chemistry in the slightest :D

Nah - Wesleyan University :D I applied there early decision. I wanted some place with a more intellectual and quirky, but less competitive, atmosphere :D

It shows that someone is human. A politician shouldn't have lived their entire life in a bubble just on the off chance that they will run for office and the opposition will dig up dirt on them - I don't want that kind of person running my country. I don't have anything against people who choose to do marijuana. I don't choose to do so myself, but if someone else has (or, something worse, like Obama - a US presidential candidate - admitting to trying cocaine in his youth) in the past, I see no reason why it should affect their decision making power now. I want the best person for the job that exists right now, not who was the most goody-two-shoes as a kid.

I don't think I'm that complicated. Boys and girls alike should be honest and upfront - girls, don't play around with silly "games," and guys, don't try so hard to act macho and like you don't care.

I didn't study any test-taking strategies at all, but I did take a bunch of practice tests, and I got a 1590 (this is when it was still out of 1600). My recommendation: the most important thing is familiarity with the test, and understanding basic test-taking strategies. If you've taken similar tests before, you don't need to repeat the studying for the test-taking strategies, but the more practice tests you take, the more familiar you'll be with the style of questions, and the better you'll do. So take lots of practice tests :D And review some test-taking strategies from a guidebook :) However, studying 5-7 hours a day for the whole summer will (a) drive you insane and (B) not wind up helping very much. P.S. Your parents have one thing right - the test is kind of important. Although you'll forget about it as soon as you get into college, the whole getting into college thing is really important - you want to be able to go to the school you want to go to :D

{off topic} Did you come to Wesleyan University in CT? :D It's unlikely, but if you did, well, it's a great school :P {/off topic} On Topic: I think it's fairly obvious that the leaks were legit, in that they were actually HP7. However, it's also fairly clear that whoever did it is going to get in a lot of trouble. I wouldn't recommend sharing it if you have it. Also, it'll be more fun to get it at midnight and read it all night :D I have my chips and energy drink ready :D

It's not so weird. :P With MSN and videochat and telephones, long distance relationships are far from impossible - and you can definitely have a significant relationship with someone without seeing their face. It's less than ideal, but you have the expectation that you'll be together in real life eventually :D

That's awesome Tigra! I remember how it felt when I was meeting Dusqi for the first time - I was giddy and nervous and all of that. We knew each other so well over the internet, and he was probably my best friend - but what if it didn't translate right in real life? What if we were awkward? And in fact, my parents were going to be there, which was even weirder. But we met and all was well, and then he spent 3 weeks with me the next summer, and I spent 2 weeks with him the next winter. And it was amazing. I kind of envy your starting from the beginning, experiencing it for the first time again :D I hope you have a wonderful wonderful time, and I trust you won't be on the internet much those few weeks (take advantage of the time you have - and then post pictures later! :P :D) And guess what? Neither of us turned out to be rapists or anything, and we had a very good time and enjoyed each other's company immensely :D So all worked out. (I'd also remind tip.it'ers of successful Runescape-started real life marriages, like Punx and Jenstarr, from way old back when tip.it forums) I'm 20 now, As you and Matt have said, I've met several RS friends in real life (Dusqi, Mercifull, Hannibal (I forget his RS name?), Merc4hire who I met IRL on my 15th birthday, Selesiana, Xtraverse). The latter bunch are old old Runescape friends from the original RS message boards back in 2001-2, and the Runescape Trivia Team. The rest are friends from #darkwebz. In fact, I'll probably meet up with some more friends next fall and winter - Dusqi if he's up for it, and Hannibal again, and How2PK and Necromagus if they're up for it :D Right. Mm, but the reason Dumbledore suggested Nagini was because he thought that he still would have needed a sixth Horcrux; I think that plotwise, JK Rowling would have needed to have Dumbledore suggest that, so that Harry knows a living creature CAN be a Horcrux. However, my guess is that Harry is a Horcrux - it explains the connections between him and Voldemort so well, and also why the scar thing has been so emphasized though we haven't yet seen why it's really important.
