  1. No plans of visiting Edi again then? Last time you were there I was stuck in an exam about a 20 minute walk from you, and I didn't find that out till later. Booo. Chris, you know I would've gone for a pizza with you, Andy and Darrel. Are them two still kicking about? :P Dan's too cool to meet anyone online! Hehe, doesn't looking like I'll be hitting up the UK again at all on this Europe trip... a shame, Edi was one of my favourite cities I've visited. But hey, if you or anyone else decides to visit Budapest this December and needs someplace to crash, feel free :P
  2. When ya coming back over here then, eh? Then again, I'd be too afraid... Mad's teh scarey. :XD: I wanted to meet you and Phil and Dan when i went to Scotland :P But I don't know, it just never worked out. Alas!
  3. dusqi (former tip.it mod) visited me last month, and later this month I'll be visiting Hannibal (former tip.it member) and Necromagus later this month (and possibly How2PK - I need to talk to you about that, if you read this :D)
  4. new york new york new york new york! what an amazing place. definitely spend a while in new york :D (I may be slightly biased)
  5. I commented on the video itself, but... bubsa :P You have officially won me over. Yeah, true that :D 8-)
  6. Mental disabilities? I find that extremely offensive. Why isn't she a female trapped in a man's body? If her self-identity as a female isn't enough, what the hell is? There is a reason that you can't just act like a guy - and it's because you AREN'T a guy. You're really a woman. It's not about opportunity ("women can do anything men can in this society now") but a complicated hormonal and identity question. You can't just reduce it like that. If reassignment surgery can you make you feel comfortable with yourself and your body, why in the world wouldn't it be a good thing to do (other than monetary cost)? Transgender activists aren't crazy idiots - they're just trying to bring about awareness of the issues that transgendered individuals are facing. When prejudice like this exists out there (saying that transgendered individuals are mentally disordered and just need to "think harder" and suck it up and pretend their gender is the same as their biological sex), that's why transgender activists need to exist to work to make it a safer place for transgender people :(
  7. In a pretty good mood, because in a few hours one of my closest (ex-)RS friends (dusqi) is coming to visit me for the weekend, so that's exciting :D Also, I'm done with work for the week. And I got 10 hours of sleep last night. Also, I had a fun video conversation with my guy back home this morning. Yaaay the world :D
  8. Put yourself in their place. It's not like they grew up in a society where transgenders were accepted (or even known). How hard is it for them? It must be very hard for them. They're hurting me emotionally in the process though. I'm afraid to say that's rather selfish serephurus. they also must be very emotionally hurt. yet you can only blame them for this as it's putting you down. Thier distressed over you yet you are frustrated with them for being distressed. They can't hide thier emotions, much like you. yet you blame them for that. How is what she said selfish at all? Serephurus admits that it must be tough for her parents, but also admits that the way they're acting is hurting her, too. Wouldn't you be extremely hurt if your parents didn't accept you for who you are? Even though you may understand that it's tough for them, and feel for them even, it's going to hurt you a lot, too. She isn't just blaming them (though I assume Serephurus would be happier if they would be more open and accept her as a female), but acknowledging that it's a tough situation, but one that leaves her feeling pretty hurt. That is completely reasonable, and not selfish in the slightest. As for Goddess, I think you should stop acting as if you're an absolute authority on everything. No offense. But I don't see how you can be as great and knowledgeable and experienced a counselor as you claim, when you act so hurtfully and NOT sensitively to other people's issues and problems. Also, I very much think this is an important post; it's not just Serephurus talking about hir own problems, but also for people in general who aren't that aware of gender dysphoria to maybe learn something. :) For example, did you know that there exists a strong movement to add "ze" and "hir" and "hirself" to the vernacular as gender neutral pronouns? They are gender-neutral equivalents of "he/she" and "her/him/his" and "herself/himself". This is extremely useful for talking about people who don't fit into the typical gender binary, and also just for general use when you're talking about a nonspecific individual :) I've used them quite effectively in papers, for example! :D
  9. I thought posting some pictures (without my face) might do a better job of explaining my style :D Mods, if these aren't okay, I completely understand if you feel you need to remove them :D Like I've said, basically I like colours :D
  10. Guys suck. You should turn gay. Mmm, considering it :P The hungarian women are HOTT!
  11. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Before I got to college, I'd never known anyone who was transgendered, and the concept just kind of seemed gross and didn't make sense to me. When I got to college, I met transgendered individuals, and also learned the difference between genderqueer, transgendered, transsexual, preop, postop, MTF, FTM, gender[bleep], intersex, the difference between gender and sex, how to use gender neutral pronouns, etc. I also finally understand that gender isn't really a choice that someone has at all. I think it would be great if everyone could get the education I did. I'm glad I feel much less ignorant now :D
  12. I'm feeling pretty sucky, because I just found out the guy who I'm not dating, but had a vague agreement that we'd probably date when I got back to the US in a few months, hooked up with another girl this weekend. And she's visiting him again in a few weeks. Screw that.
  13. For those who find these sorts of acts incomprehensible, and can't believe any decent human would do these things just because they've been put in a position of power, I recommend reading up on the Stanford Prison Experiment in this slide show. Really, it's one of the most valuable things I've ever read. it's completely worth your time. (Basically, it was a two-week psychological experiment where they created a simulated prison environment, and arbitrarily assigned 18 healthy ordinary college students to be either "prisoners" or "guards". The guards began acting extremely sadistically, and the prisoners began experiencing extreme psychological trauma, and the experiment had to be called off after only 6 days! Read more, it's really informative and also frightening to realize what you would become in different circumstances.)
  14. I wear very very bright colours, and fun geometric or artistic prints. Also, often flowy skirts.
  15. I don't mind if people take mine. http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/2796/siggypooro0.jpg
  16. Was that 01? I know it was before Ruby's boards that I first posted... or I'm not sure if I posted, I know that I lurked a while and was impressed with all the bigshot famous RS people (gregechidna6, lightning, etc.) and was scared to ever post - and stuck to the official RS forums until they shut down. Actually!! I just remembered what my first ever tip.it forum post was! It was on a long thread about bluerose13x (wow, that was a long time ago!) complaining about her for some reason or another, and then I defended her for some reason (probably because I wanted to suck up to her - I was really impressed with famous Runescapers). Aww :D Wow, that was like... 7 years ago? Ish? 6? That's absurd. Why am I still here?
  17. That's a really tough thing to be going through, and it makes it ten gazillion times harder to have your parents not really understand quite what is going on, and aren't supportive of your transition :( I'm really sorry that this is going to be so hard for you. That said, (and I'm sure you know this), it will work out. Transitioning can be really really tough, and there are still so many barriers to go through. For example, if you're interested in any sports, you might not be allowed on sports teams (either male or female) if you are taking hormones. There's still a lot of discrimination out there based on the perception of the gender binary :( I'm certainly no expert, but if you ever just want to talk about it, feel free to message me (or IM me on AIM at madjoyish ):) I've known people all across the gender spectrum - genderqueer, transgender, transsexual - and though I don't know firsthand how tough it can be, I know it's helpful to have someone just to listen to. P.S. If you feel like you want to transition physically, don't let your parents or a biased "psychologist" stop you. It sounds like you've done a lot of research on your own, and that's great :D
  18. That is one of the most interesting posts I've read on these forums in a long time. I'm not being sarcastic, either. Interesting how much our culture (and microculture) define us and our "opinions", and how rarely it comes to the surface and we admit it.
  19. Hehehe, exactly what I was thinking :D what a great comic 8-)
  20. So ignorant. Perhaps you should consider the additional weight and drag of balls on men who attempt to streak before you flaunt your own streaking freedom. *coughs* breasts *cough* They exist out there, but I don't think they're for tip.it's eyes. End of story :D
  21. Hey, PaperClips - I want to see a real life picture of you!
  22. I've done plenty of streaking, skinny dipping, naked parties, ... pretty much whatever you can do clothed, I've probably done naked. Yaay nudism :D
  23. Morals aside, is that behaviour an indication of a stable and healthy mental state? A stable and healthy mental state is culturally defined to begin with. I mean, "insane" is simply used to categorize people who deviate from the "normal" mental state in socially unacceptable ways - for example, homosexuality used to be categorized in the DSM, but no longer is, as cultural definitions of unacceptable abnormality shift. I would say that there is nothing inherently unstable or unhealthy about the mental state of someone who has sex with their mom, but that it is very tied to cultural norms of acceptability.
  24. Yeah.. pretty sure lolcats (and all the slang "win," "epic," "fail," etc.) came from 4chan. Hope that's not against the rules... :P
  25. Mr. PaperClip, thanks for doing me. It was totally great! That's the best I've ever been done before. ps. you're amazing! pps. call me.
