  1. Thanks for the insight. I think i might consider unblocking hellhounds now that i can use kuradal. When i initially blocked them, i was using summona and lapalok, thus didnt have access to a decent spawn at a decent location. I hate metal drags, so i will block both irons and steels, but will leave mithrils unblocked. I have done the task once now, and only got 4. It took me all of 5 minutes to do, 1 dose of a ppot and antifire, and 3 monkfish to complete. black demons also seem like a good task to block due to bad drops and them being slow. i imagine i will also block suqahs, although i have never been assigned them as of yet. They seem to be few and far between, with very little reward. my final block will be living rocks. they are so bloody slow to kill without much reward. Thanks for the input. Based on the posts, a popular block list would be: Iron Dragons Steel Dragons Black Demons Suqahs Living Rock Creatures I think thats what my list will eventually look like.
  2. Hey. I was just wondering what tasks people suggest blocking permanently. I currently have blocked hellhounds, living rock creatures, and skeletal wyverns. I have 2 spaces left, and expect i will block terrorbirds (once given the task). What is the final monster i should block?
  3. You cannot be in building mode in order to get them. I suggest making teletabs or something to pass time. Once you see the red dot on the minimap, go snag it and wait for the second one. The second will not spawn till you have the first one.
  4. Armoured zombies are your best bet if you dont want to do slayer. I would bring a neitznot helm, prossy top, v skirt, whip, defender, rfd gloves, d boots, any prayer boosting cape, and of course a salve ammy (e). Bring some super atk and str pots, use piety (or downgrades with the same effects). If you take too much damage, just pray melee and recharge as required. It is very possible to get 100k exp per hour there.
  5. Waterfiends are a tough gig with stats under 80. You wont last too long at them per trip, and will likely have trouble killing them, especially without piety and/or a slayer helm (assuming they are your task.) Give them a try though :)
  6. Other than the combat robes, is there anything you could suggest as a welfare setup for him? I dont have much experience in bursting lobbs, so i cant be too much of a help.
  7. Hes referring to the AOW guide. If by semi-cheap, you mean over 25m worth of stuff per trip, then yes, youve got it :P You outlined a nearly optimal setup, apart from the boots, glory, and ring, which are minor. I figured you would post something like this :P Just aim for ahrims, a stole, mage cape, zammy book, barrows gloves. Perhaps by the time you get 75 mage to use my SOL, you will have enough for ahrims, and then can burst efficiently. Dont worry so much about the gear. Use what you have for the ~600 charms you need and you will be fine. Please critique this setup :)
  8. Unless these were extensive tests performed over many hours and trials, the results count for as much as my opinion. Thats what i was saying. Cant argue the second point. I wasnt suggesting my calculation was correct, but i fail to see where the ZS becomes 90.3% as opposed to 90. But as for the prayers, pots, etc, i was suggesting a comparison where both would be using the same, which should cancel out leaving only the math i suggested. Surely the game is more complex than this, and i highly doubt anybody knows for sure (other than the programmers) how exactly these calculations are made. Lets just agree that they are more or less the same.
  9. Youre gonna want to buy a ZS for crush tasks. Im thinking of buying claws as a spec weapon for when a bunyip and EE are overkill. When i eventually get 88 summ, then EE will definitely be overkill on a lot of tasks. Definitely get karils, a cannon, cballs, have a supply of ppots/pure sets of supers/extremes, bunyips, monkfish, and you should be set.
  10. These 'tests' are just as much of an opinion as my experiences using both are. I dont want to beat this to death, because certain people (^^^^^) seem to be making this somewhat personal. The moron above me seems to think that the difference between the two is lifechanging, when infact, the difference is so small that opinions are able to be completely different. Perhaps if you arent maxed, the added accuracy of the ZS makes it a better choice than the SS, which applies to me. If you are maxed, then maybe the results of the SS are better than the ZS. As for the bogus math above, i dont know where you get the number 90.3%. Using a ratio (whether that is proper or not is beyond me, but ill do it anyways.) If 90% = 60 crush, then 65 crush should give an accuracy of 97.5%. Like i said, this is based on a ratio, which seems viable to me if youre numbers are right.
  11. This is wrong. Sara Sword is better than the spear, but the difference is small enough that the spear is perfectly acceptable. No, you are wrong. SS has +60 crush, Zspear has +65. The difference is small, but i found i was faster with a zspear, likely because of the crush bonus. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Saradomin_sword http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Zamorakian_spear You might want to compare the strength bonuses. From personal data SS is definitely better but ZS works if you don't want to buy one. The str bonus is marginally lower, which equates to a 10-20 lifepoint lower max hit. The ZS, however, will make you land bigger hits more often than the SS. They are very similar, so whichever you have works, but i stick with the zs because its cheaper, and imo, better for monsters vulnerable to crush. EDIT: Based on tipits calc, i will hit 11 lifepoints less as a max hit using a zs compared to a ss. Attack bonus does not make you hit bigger hits more often, it makes you hit less 0s. Strength bonus does what you described by increasing your mean damage. Simulating what each weapon will help you with is great and all but based on personal testing, I wouldn't bring a ZS for 4k crimsons unless it would somehow mess up my bank. Less 0s = hits more often = bigger hits more often. Higher crush means you hit more accurately while on a crush attack style. We clearly have opposite opinions based on personal experience. Agree to disagree?

  13. The best shield, in terms of overall stats without busting your stones in cost, is a DFS. BSS' are pretty decent, but the DFS is a chunk better, and has a str bonus. If you are talking about the best shield slot item, i would generally go with the rune defender. it gives a great str and atk bonus which benefits the average slayer more than a DFS. Boss hunting with a DFS, although i have yet to try, seems like a good way to go based on logic and other people's reports. But overall, for me, i dont feel it is required.

  15. Karils crossbow was far more useful before enchanted bolts and rune cbows. It used to serve its purpose as a jad-killer, but updates have since devalued it in terms of use. I have, and always will love the bow, but it has been outdone. The ammo is relatively cheap, but you cant pick it up. So, overall, not very useful these days.
  16. Seems like you have your answer, but if it means anything, i prefer the z spear over a ss. I have used both on them, and not only does the z spear have many other uses, it seems more effective on them because of its high crush bonus. I was beating out a maxed player using a SGS most of the time with a simple z spear and pure set.
  17. Everybody, well most people, have bits and pieces that are correct. Here is what I do. Full Slayer Helm Fury Berserker Whip Rune Defender Barrows Gloves Dragon Boots Dharock or Torag Plate (same def bonuses) / Prossy Top Verac Skirt Fire Cape / Soul Wars Cape Only use the prossy top and soul wars cape if you are going to piety. The money you have should be spent on lvling your herblore. I had the same question a while ago, but came to the realization that once you get the basics (this setup), its herblore, prayer, and higher combat stats that will make a difference when slaying. I will be working on getting my herblore as high as possible for extremes, and eventually overloads. Another option for the cash is to burst rock lobbs for crimsons and get high summoning for uni/pack yak/steel titan. Between those two things, you should do a good job spending most, if not all that cash.

It doesnt really explain how to best utilize the skill. Is there anything that people have found that isnt in the skill guide?
  19. Hey guys. I was wondering if somebody could give me a run-through as to how I should do dungeoneering to get the best exp. General tips and strategies would be appreciated :) Thanks.
  20. I second that. A BGS is a waste, especially with your stats. I could buy whatever gs i want, and have tried them all honestly, but they arent really worth it for me seeing as i dont boss hunt. IMO, the only slightly useful gs is the SGS with its healing/prayer restorative spec. Other than that, i wouldnt really bother with a gs. A BGS might be useful for gw bosses, but neither me nor you have the stats for that. Just save your cash, or spend it on small things. Dont buy a fury, it will drain all your cash. If you dont already have them, get a whip, v skirt, dh plate, drag boots, slayer helm (either full or not) and work on your combat, if you do want to boss hunt. If not, just work on your skills.
  21. Thats pretty much the best ive got, sorry. I dont do combat for cash, although ive heard green drags are decent. You should just work on getting your skills up a bit higher for now. Moneymaking will come along with higher skills. Another way you can make money is by flipping. If you can manage to buy stuff a bit above min and sell a bit below mid, youll make some decent cash. I tried it with raw sharks and ended up making 600k in the course of my 4 hour trade limit.
  22. Managing Thy (your) Kingdom. From the quest royal trouble, if i recall correctly. Theres a second quest following it which i recommend so that you can maximize daily profit. I put 10 on herbs and 5 on maples (because i like the seeds from nests). If you want insta-profit, stick 5 on fish and 10 on herbs.
  23. To be honest, I made 13m last night runecrafting. For me, the best way to make cash is to rc. Granted, without double astrals the cash will be less, but if you could graahk nats (get some summ lvls), or just craft through the abyss, i bet you could get the cash you need with time to spare. An alternative would be to pick mort myre fungus. I have made most of my cash doing those, while supplementing it with MTK.
  24. Your argument against barrows is weak, imo, granted i felt the same back in the day. 4 years ago when i quit for the first and only time, i could afford barrows, but never used it because i was too afraid of dying with it or repairing it. All i use these days is barrows. The reparation cost is very low, especially with a POH. Its cheap armour, its strong, and you can last for like 14 hours of combat without repairing it. 14 hours is a long time, and the cost is less than 100k for me. idk about you, but i make upwards of 800k an hour, so i could repair over 4.5 days worth of straight combat with only 1 hour worth of moneymaking as the cost. I use a verac skirt and dh top usually. The skirt has very good def and gives a prayer bonus, while the top is just as strong as the others (excluding a brassy). A whip, fury, zerker, full slayer helm, dragon boots, barrows gloves, soulwars/fire/skill capes are the best capes to use. Just go slaying and you will see what most people wear. Chances are, the most common outfit is what i am speaking of, and is common because it is cheap and extremely good. I would recommend it over bandos any day. TBH, bandos is overrated. Its too expensive for its stats. Barrows has better def, and only lacks a couple str bonus points, which might make you hit 10 lifepoints less.
  25. It took me a long time to figure it out lol. When i last played 3 or more years ago, it was south of fally. I came back 2 months ago and wanted to air rc (before i got membs back) and couldnt find it. I spent a long time figuring it out lol.
