Efficiency Trolls
Can you name something that isn't fun? For a select amount of time, anything can be fun, so the advice for fun would be: do anything. Doesn't sound helpful to me. ... and yet, time and again, we see that exact same advice being given in H&A ...

Efficiency Trolls
Why don't we just settle this point and call a spade an "effing thing to dig with"? Henceforth: 1. Anyone wanting "FUN" advice in H&A must ask: "What is a FUN way to train/do/get __________?" 2. Anyone wanting "EFFICIENT" advice in H&A must ask: "What is an EFFICIENT way to train/do/get __________?" Anyone not posting a question in one of the above ways shall have their thread immediately closed. Off Topic -1: I called upon the Efficiency experts in the H&A and received immediate, friendly, insightful and helpful advice! Thank you Efficiandos! <3:

Okay you Efficieonados ...
Thanks guys -- Vex's mini-guide in "Effigyscape" sets out a lot of the stuff you guys are talking about. I like the idea of yakking the ashes. Not because I might "make" money, but mainly because I will loose a lot less that way. I don't mind the slower kill rate -- it's still better than grinding out more cycles on an agility course. Thanks to everyone for all your insights so far! <3:

Are these two items really worth it... for me?
Ezkaton -- what exactly is keeping you from getting the Soul Wars cape itself? Is it the "questing" or the battle against Nomad?

So, how do the cool kids train smithing these days?
To be honest, I just find most BoB's to be one more click than I need when doing this kind of training -- but that's just me ... For me I bank faster than the time it takes to fill up the yak, surprisingly Agreed -- it's the "hand-off" between the BoB and my invent that slows me down -- and yes, in the end I can bank faster than it takes to switch items between one and the other.

Yes, I know. I am not arguing with you -- so please don't think you have to alter my opinion at all in any way on the issue. You're preaching to the choir, as it were. I know that the time I spend reading your posts, and those of the other "efficianados" is time well spent. And I know that you and the others, really, have the better interests of other people in mind. And I APPRECIATE IT! I really do. My point was that your side of the discussion "READ" like Sheldon Cooper -- not that that's a bad thing -- it just IS ... (... and it's kinda funny, if you're a fan of the show, which I am ...)

Okay you Efficieonados ...
TY! For that matter (for the sake of argument) would possibly one of those new "clan" forums that Jagex is providing be a useful jumping block? Thanks, I will look it up! Thanks for your help. <3:

In your opinion. But that doesn't mean everyone thinks that way. In what way you have fun is not stated by a definition it is an opinion. Research provides the best known way to do something. Is that an opinion? Ancient -- no offence -- but that exchange REALLY reads like a science geek's response on your part. It looks like essiw is arguing with Sheldon Cooper ... What's wrong with being geeky? More people need to let science into their lives. Im geeky irl, but I get along with people fine. And in context when I say resarch I don't necessarily mean data logging and xp tracking. All I mean is taking an open mind and willingness to learn. This attitude goes a long way. LOL! Nothing is wrong with being geeky, you would not be the person you are, and I am not asking you to behave any differently ... <3: That said, there's more than ONE way to skin a cat, as it were -- and your definition of "FUN" is, in no way shape or form, the same as someone else's and you can bet that it sure as HELL hasn't got anything to do with efficiency and scientific equations ...

Jagex - Bot Busting
Public off would only eliminate the "0000000000's" -- you could still see the bot going through the same motions, over and over again. It was VERY obvious ... <_< An obvious bot being ignored and allowed to prosper? The hell you say! I know, right? I was shocked!! Yes, that's right, shocked! That's it. That's all. Just SHOCKED. Well -- shocked and appalled. But that's it. Both Shocked and Appalled. And somewhat dismayed ... Ok -- I was shocked, appalled and somewhat dismayed. But THAT's it! Oh -- and I was also disappointed. GAH! I'll come back in again ... *Kudos to anyone who can guess what I am referencing!

Okay you Efficieonados ...
I am considering doing melee + cannon. So it's a little of both, right? Hence my confusion.

Reading the "title" again - for some reason I keep thinking "Badges?!?! We don' need no steekin' badges!"

Ok ... so ... um ... uh. Do I use the Void Melee helm or the Void Range Helm? Both? I got the full "fricken" elite void set folks (except the deflector) -- including the gloves.

Jagex - Bot Busting
You know what I would like to do that mod? Slap her over the face with a trout. Sure, mods are not forced to act, but when it's so obvious and so easy to report you have to be a fool not to report it. Sadly -- I've see this kind of thing happening all the time, every day. I've sat fishing with friends on the beach in Catherby (it's a social thing), and watched numerous bots wander up and down the same segment of beach, waiting for a Cage/Harpoon spot to appear, all the while a Pmod sits on the beach and does bupkus about it. I'm only mentioning this most recent case in light of the "we're busting dem bots" announcement ... <_< That's because Jagex has the worst standards of any MMO for their player moderators, and that just leads to trashy moderators. Oh -- don't get me started on THAT topic ...

Okay you Efficieonados ...
Thanks. I always read over Wiki's recommendations before I go too far along and start asking questions. My only issue about Wiki is that it's not necessarily 100% "accurate" and, at times, downright apocryphal* ... Green: ATM, I am 521 xp from 72 Dungeoneering. While I acknowledge that doing MORE dunge will enhance much of my future 'scaping, at the moment, I am having issues with training dunge -- mainly because each time I get into a diungeon with more than two people, my 5 year old computer throws a hissy fit and nearly passes out. So I'm either stuck doing solo dungeons or not doing them at all. ------ *H2G2 reference* :shades:

Okay you Efficieonados ...
Right -- bank at Fally and use the agility shortcuts, right?
-
Okay you Efficieonados ...
Yeah - I think I'm pretty much married to the idea of cannoning + melee. If I go with my Bandos gear -- I'd get *some* prayer bonus -- but it seems you're suggesting I should go with Initiate Armour and, say, my Fally Shield 4, right? Nietz helm, fury, fire cape and d boots would give me a decent strength bonus too. I assume a whip is my best choice, as I'm not high enough dunge for a chaotic weapon. Take a pile of (super?) prayer pots and pray deflect melee. Hmmm - how many cannonballs, I wonder? edit: Okay - I don't have the deflector or the rapier. The other gear I got. Not sure what you mean by "but with how fast the kills are you might find you spend more time chugging them than killing ..."

Wow -- you guys make getting 99 smithing look really attractive ATM ... <3:
-
Okay you Efficieonados ...
I've been sitting at 97 agility for over a year -- I just want to get it "out of the way" ... Black demons is looking really like my best option here, I think. I like the idea of gaining the charms I need. What gear do you suggest I take along for this? Do I use Extremes? Pray? Keep in mind I got my choice of any armour, short of Nex gear and Elysian/Divine shields ... Do I use a Yak and bank ashes as I go along? I've got an SGS and/or EEE for healing as well.
-
Okay you Efficieonados ...
Wow guys - these are good ideas. How busy ARE black demons these days? I suspect you mean the Cave Crawlers in the desert dungeon? Oh heck -- I still need to do that "mini-quest" -- I totally forgot about THAT ... <_<

Okay you Efficieonados ...
I spent the bxpw working on getting 99 Herblore and, well, to be honest, since "grinding" that one out over a weekend, I am pretty much tired of "grinding" ... So, I've got three (3) skills I want to get DONE and OVER with to 99, namely: Agility is currently 97 - 140k+ to 98. Summoning is 97 - 914k +/- to 98. Range is 98 - 940k +/- to 99. I'd like some advice on "efficient" training methods to get these damn skills over and done with. Oh and BTW -- my Hati gloves are still at 14% -- so "yes" I could use them on Range. Poo -- should've included my stats:
