  1. Honestly, what more can you expect from people who STILL think that Wendel Clark was a half-decent hockey player? Seriously -- Leafs fans are, at times, a pretty thick lot. Sure +/- is only as good as the other four guys on the ice and the goaltender. Which is why trading away three potential top-notch players for a mediocre player like Kessel makes even less sense. Kessel is not an elite level player. He's nowhere those other players for which you would/should trade your team's future. Plain and simple. Kessel will NEVER be an elite level player. In the meantime, the Leafs have traded away three (3) potential ELITE level players for one middling level player with a poor work ethic and a historically bad +/-, and then doled out millions in payroll to him -- and keep in mind, this is a guy who is, historically a 30-40 goal scorer, which means that, even with his production, the opposition still generates 20+ more goals a season than he produces. As I said, there's only 9 or 10 guys in the league with a worse +/- rating -- and the Leafs fans ignored that very fact. Well - not ignored it. They closed their eyes and covered their ears and went "LALALALALALLALA" in hoping that it'd go away. Only goes to prove that one reason the Leafs will never win a Cup, or make it to a Cup final, is because the Leafs' fan-base lacks sufficient hockey-sense to drag out torches and pitchforks to demand a better team. Then again, Burke traded for Phaneuf, and his defensive lapses are so gawd-awful they make normal-minded hockey folk cringe ...
  2. But it's got funny Pirates, head trauma and all the swashbuckling you can eat!
  3. I dunno about that. If bots are not using browsers, as has been purported, then none of Jagex's (invisible in P2P) advertisements are getting "hits" which means that they're not earning that revenue off botters ... They are still getting hits, just being hidden. The botters are still paying their memberships. Botters = money for Jagex. Well poo ... <_<
  4. Awesome!!!! I love these Pirate Quests! <3:
  5. I need 13k XP for 74 Thieving and 83k for 74 Smithing ... Should be doable all tonight. :)
  6. Community events are cheap and require no development time or programming ...
  7. I dunno about that. If bots are not using browsers, as has been purported, then none of Jagex's (invisible in P2P) advertisements are getting "hits" which means that they're not earning that revenue off botters ... I'm pretty sure chins bots, green drag bots, LRC bots and SG bots are members... @ No More That's not true, just look at the # of posters with stats signature and you'll see players care about their stats and ranks. Yes -- and there are advertisements in P2P too -- only Jagex *hides* them under the main viewing screen ... <_<

  9. ^THIS^ Make it so that players can block the known *bot spots* using objects that would not have any effect on live players. ^AND/OR THIS^ Either that or break out the torches and pitchforks, or something. If Jagex doesn't get serious soon about this problem, they're going to have either (a) an angry mob on their hands or (b) a game entirely popluated with bots ...
  10. Well YOU try lighting a fire underwater ... <_< Well, you shove it up y* Um, well, maybe it's better not to ask such questions ...
  11. he was +23 in his last year in Boston man was he a Selke nominee that year? His career +/- is (-24) in four seasons. <_<
  12. Well no - of course not - Alexandre Daigle had talent and skills ... Oh -- and if you look at Daigle's stats -- they're comparable to Kessels, and Daigle played for a much weaker team.
  13. http://www.nhl.com/ice/app?service=page&page=playerstats&fetchKey=20112ALLSASAll&viewName=points&sort=plusMinus&pg=29 Kessel's +/- is terrible. His -21 puts him at 861st in the league in that category. 861st out of 871. You're telling me he's not a mediocre player? Seriously? 861st? There's only 10 other guys in the league who or a worse defensive liability. You're drinking WAY too much blue Kool Aid, hun ...
  14. LOL'd irl. To Yguy: Yes, a 30-goal scorer with a +/- of (-21) IS a mediocre player ...
  15. By which time the Bruins will be in a Stanley Cup final, and the Leafs will be scraping by to just get into the playoffs. This is the problem with Leafs fans, you know. You think it's great to just get into the playoffs, when every other team in the NHL already knows that 8th place is like fool's gold ... Lol what. I never said making the playoffs is the be all and end all. Of course every team wants to make the playoffs, but yes, i realize typically 8th place does nothing. I honestly don't see the leafs still "scraping to get in" by 14-15. Not *you* in particular, hun -- just Leafs fans in general. I was merely extrapolating that from your comments without actually being fair. Sorry. Let me rant for a bit: That said -- this is precisely why the Kessel deal is a fool's errand. To trade away your future prospects in favour of a mediocre player that his own team (Boston) didn't want, for the possibility that you may make the 8th place playoff spot, was pure folly. Burke should have known that. Gawd only knows what he was thinking at the time. Especially THEN when you consider the deadweight that Toronto had when Burke pulled the trigger, and even now that the Leafs tanked and Boston got the 2nd pick over all. Think what would have happened had the Leafs kept their #1 and #2 picks in 2010. Instead, they didn't even get a 1st round pick -- and didn't pick until 43rd overall. Brutal. Positively brutal. This year they will finish 10th and they won't get any of the top-5's. Next year they will finish 9th and again won't get a top 5. By the time Kessel's done and gone with the Leafs -- he won't stick around -- the Leafs will have nothing, got nothing and gone nowhere. .. and the odd part is -- YOU. You, the Leafs fan, should be morally outraged. YOU, the Leafs fan, should be screaming at the ownership/management over this epic Ballard-like-[bleep]-up. But no -- you'll sit there and make excuses about how Kessel isn't a terrible player and how his mediocre talents will make up for the total lack of top-notch world-class talent and leadership your half-assed team COULD have had, and won a Cup. But no - instead, Leafs fans will be happy with "making the playoffs" and watch for another 5-10 years while their team fails, again and again, to even make a Cup final ... [/rant] Thanks, <3:

  17. Let's compare stats: Phil Kessel: 75 GP / 29 G / 27 A / 56 Points / +/- = -21 Now - let's say that the Leafs had done their homework and, by some basic miracle, managed to pick, say, the top three rookies this year, for example: Jeff Skinner: 73 GP 25 G 28 A 53 Points +/- = -1 Logan Couture: 72 GP 28 G 22 A 50 Points +/- = 16 Michael Grabner: 71 GP 31G 17A 48 Points +/- = 17 That's just this year alone. That's not comparing what these kids will do next year or in three years' time ... Hell - even if we pick any three rookies out of the top ten rookies this year, they all provide nearly equal production to Kessel alone, and all of them together is a better deal than just him. Seriously - there is no way whatsoever you can justify that Phil Kessel is worth this much in draft picks. EVER.
  18. No - you're not answering my question -- you're avoiding it. Here is my question again: Is Phil Kessel worth THREE PLAYERS (a #1 pick in 2010, a #2 pick in 2010, and #1 pick in 2011) who will play for 2/3rds his salary? The answer you're looking for, BTW, is "Hell. No!"
  19. Even if Kessel pots 40 goals a season (which he's NEVER done) -- is he better than three players playing for 2/3rds of his salary? Hell no.
  20. Meh -- that's not Jagex's doing - that is simple consumerism and Jonesing ...
  21. The Kessel trade was awful. You gave up three (3) draft picks for one guy who scores 30 goals a year. Kessel is a 27M over 5 year salary cap hit to boot. In three draft picks, you'll get more than 30 goals a year and take a far less cap hit over five years. Period. Sure, Kessel may be a better player than Tyler Seguin this year. But is he better than Tyler Seguin, Player X and Player Y next year? Hell no. Will he be better than those three guys in 5 years time? Hell no. Worst. Trade. Ever. He's had two seasons. That's enough for EVERYONE to know that he's got a ticky heart and can't smother a rebound to save his life. He's not an NHL goalie. Period. Helll, he's not even an AHL or ECHL goalie. He's a European league quality tender where they play 30 games a year and he sits for half of those.
  22. .. and perhaps there will be a "Monty Python's Life of Brian" reference to "cheese makers"?
  23. *grabs cheque book* Wait! What? :shades: I can see it all now - rows upon rows of people standing in the GE: "Phr33 munny pl0x! Going for 200M in all skills! Phr33 munny pl0x!"
  24. Nope, nope, nope. No invite ...
