  1. I actually gave my brother full Bandos to run to Little Caesars to grab me a pizza a few months back (Knee surgery... Couldn't walk). =/. It would be cool to see some trees or ore similar to farming patches. You can cut yours down (And then have to wait the normal amount of time for re-spawn), but the other player's might still be there because he hasn't yet. Know what I mean? That way they may influence prices, but they aren't affecting the people around there trying to train. This reminds me of the time my son showed me a post in the WoW forums wherein some young woman offered certain services in exchange for a certain kind of "mount" within the game ... Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
  2. Do you play "ice hockey" Necro? Do you have children who play it? Or a spouse who's played? Do you know anything about the sport at all? I am curious.
  3. It's the same in many other minigames or diversion areas. Makes you almost want to leave entirely, eh? I'm going to play my backlog of games and won't log on much except to check on updates. I've pretty much exhausted what I want to do. Too much to hope that Jagex will fix this problem within the year. What I'd like is for Jagex to just step up, this once, and be honest with their customers. Just once.
  4. And that's what is sad. You can be guaranteed that other people have reported them, thus bringing it directly to Jagex's attention that, "Hey, person x is botting!" and they still can't detect and ban them. The same thing goes with Soul Wars. I see the same people there for months. We have fun trapping them behind cades to get them kicked from game... But they started getting smart and using crossbows. So I used a Forge Regent to un-equip their weapon, trapped them again, and they get booted from game. But these people have been reported and have literally still been there for months! It's the same thing, apparently, at Pest Control as well.
  5. You're forgiven in believing that you can compare the stats of any two players and find them to mean anything. And, once again, you missed the POINT. Datsyuk had legendary HALL OF FAME mentors -- including Igor Larionov, Sergei Fedorov and Steve Yzerman. Who the [bleep] is going to mentor Kulemin? Really? Phil Kessel? You're off your nut. So without good mentors, you're destined to fail as a player? I give up -- you're hopeless. Completely and utterly hopeless. Have fun watching the Leafs crawl through the next decade, dude. Perhaps 10 years from now you'll get the poo out from between your ears. Good, hope we won't see you around here again. Oh -- you'll see me around here. I',m just done talking to Yguy about how hopeless his optimism is about the Leafs. Meanwhile, I can't leave poor Foursides alone in here with you morons. He needs somebody ELSE in here to talk who actually knows SOMETHING about hockey, because the rest of you sure as hell don't. And yes, I realize how incredibly grating that someone without a penis knows more about hockey than most of the "men" on here -- really, it's shameful that none of you know your ass from your elbows around this sport. Now -- my predictions for round 1 of the playoffs: First Round Matchups (Best of 7) (1) WSH vs. (8) NYR - Washington in 5 (1) VAN vs. (8) CHI - Vancouver in 6 (2) PHI vs. (7) BUF - Philly in 5 -- CAVEAT: Buffalo in 7 if Miller is or gets to be truly healthy* (2) SJ vs. (7) LA - San Jose in 5 (3) BOS vs. (6) MTL - Montreal in 6 (3) DET vs. (6) PHX - Detroit in 6 (4) PIT vs. (5) TB - Pittsburgh in 7 (4) ANA vs. (5) NAS - Anaheim in 6 ----------- ========== ------------- (*) IF Miller is really and truly healthy -- he COULD be the series stealer for the Philly/Buffalo series. If that's the case, expect Buffalo to go deep and break a lot of hearts. That said, from what I have seen over the past few weeks, Miller's not even close to being truly "game ready", and I don't expect him to be "game ready" till game 3 or 4 -- and game ready isn't his top form either. If he's not ready to go by game 1, don't expect Buffalo to last very long.
  6. Inasmuch as I really do NONE of these, I've found it somewhat difficult to attribute paying 15M towards spells that I will practically never use ... Some day, yeah, maybe I might find this useful. But not today. Not this year. With respect to the second article -- I found it hilarious and extremely naive and, well, downright "high school" in quality. I think someone REALLY needs to learn what a corporation is and what it does.
  7. Frankly, given the lax nature of Jagex's response to botting (yes, I know that they have a super secret anti-bot decoder ring of justice out there!) I have been tempted to actually go out and buy a couple of botting programs. I won't do it though because there's no "achievement" in cheating. <_<
  8. I saw one that really baffled me. It made a line of fires, then ran back to re-start on top of its own line! Of course it couldn't, so it stepped one square to the west, paused, stepped another square to the west.... until it finally reached an empty square. It did this several times while I was training to 92 firemaking in the same area. Bad enough the ones that get messed up from your fires, but bots that mess up from their own...? This is precisely like the fishing bots in Catherby that wander, back in forth on the beach, until the appropriate fishing spot appears within the designated range of the bot's programming. Until such spot appears, the bot just wanders back and forth in an "L" shaped pattern, repeatedly. The same 50 players have been botting in Catherby for weeks. They're still there. THEN there's the bots in Varrock at Aubury's. Close the door and watch them wander around the building repeatedly until they can finally get through the "open" door. These are OBVIOUS bots - and Jagex doesn't do a damn thing about them.

I'm not talking about just "Runescape" or the single player game I am talking about all/any game or sport. Cards, board games -- even athletics. I am reminded of Bill Belichick's "stealing" the Jets' signals, for example or players juicing themselves with steroids or other similar things. These are all "cheats" of one kind or another. When does cheating STOP being acceptable within a "game environment"?
  12. Ok, good luck with that. Here's a little picture you might find interesting - its of some stats of a player who's "going nowhere". You're hilarious. Honestly -- you really are. You have no concept whatsoever of what a "team" means, and all that it implies. You've got a load of middling players on a team without bona fide leadership or high quality future stars, and now you're trying to equate this same P.O.S. Leafs team with the Red Wings powerhouse that Datsyuk joined -- that had Yzerman, Fedorov, Hull, Shanahan, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Larionov, Holmstrom, Robitaille, Chelios, and Schneider and had won a Stanley Cup when Datsyuk was 23. Not to mention that Datsyuk is a TWO-WAY player. To suggest that Kulemin is going to produce anything even in the same neighbourhood of Datsyuk is delusional. Seriously Yguy -- you really need some perspective. Stop it already. You're embarrassing yourself.

^THIS^ comment came from an earlier thread in the Runescape forums about "botting" and it's implications on morality -- and it got me to wondering: Is cheating simply now so commonplace that it's become an "acceptable" part of any game?
  14. Finally -- we agree about something. Its ironic – really – because they ARE going NOWHERE. They're going to do little more than produce modest stats for a team that will be lucky to achieve 8th place for 3 of the next 5-10 years. In the meantime, the other teams that took their lumps and finished low in the standings, bided their time and made careful scouting and obtained draft picks – draft picks they haven't thrown away on a player who's +/- is, frankly, frightening – these teams will make slow and consistent progress towards a Stanley Cup Final berth. After Schenn, Aulie, Kadri, Colborne, Gardiner, Kulemin and Grabovski have all either signed off with better teams, or been dumped for poor performance – there will be other teams that will have made, and won Stanley Cups, and the Leafs will be anothe decade without so much as a Stanley Cup berth.
  15. I'm sorry - for which of those players did ANY of their teams give up three (3) draft picks? Obviously, you've MISSED the entire point. Oh -- and the only one in that group you listed with a comparable +/- to Kessel's is Kovalchuk (-26) and Tavares (-15). It's already widely consented that Jersey royally screwed the pooch by signing Kovalchuk. His defensive liabilities are widely known, but Jersey seems to think they can work him into their system. For the money they're spending on him, one should hope so. Tavares is a young kid playing for a young squad. It's only a matter of time before the Islanders start to have better seasons -- provided that their management doesn't screw the pooch again. THAT team is still suffering from the long-term idiocy that was the Di Pietro contract (what were they thinking?!?!?!?) Of the other players you mentioned, the only ones with a +/- that's not (-1) or (-2) is Staal's. If the Leafs had traded 3 picks for Staal, they'd still have made a drastic mistake -- however, at least Staal would be the team leader they need and not some one-way playing loafer. That said NOT ONE of these guys was acquired by their respective teams, by giving up their entire future for any of these guys. NOT ONE. ... and you continue, time and again, to miss the obvious point. Obvious point is obvious, unless you're a Leafs fan.
  16. Lol do you understand hockey.... and how +/- is counted?? Do YOU know bleep about hockey?? Power play goals don't count for plus/minus, D'oh!!! +/- is nothing. Using you logic: Hey Nic Lidstrom is a -3 this season, OMFGGGG he was a liability every time he was on the ice?! Amirite? Of course I'm right, because I'm using Blyaunte's logic. Gosh, stop trolling please. Who's trolling now? Seriously? Lidstrom's CAREER +/- is +428. But he's getting old now (40) and it's showing. -3 and 62 points is GREAT for an old guy -- but, you know, he's OLD -- and he's not the asset he used to be. As such, he IS a liability on the ice -- just nowhere near the liability that Kessel is ... ... AND Detroit didn't trade their future for Lidstrom ... But, of course, you missed THAT point because, when it comes to hockey you don't know your backside from your elbow.
  17. ... and basically - it's only useful in PvP circumstances, such as Castle Wars, Clan Wars or Soul Wars?
  18. Actually - I think it's more along the lines of who's group of bots manage to operate longer before Jagex's "super secret bot detection programme®" catches them all ...
  19. I am SO glad that they have their "super secret" (read: "non-existent") method of bot detection. Wow -- we're all SO impressed over hear, I can tell you! It's like, you got this whole "secret" thing that's, you know, secret and uh ... well ... Apparently, with every 100 bots "captured" each Jmod & Pmod will be awarded a super-secret-decoder-ring ... It would be idiotic for them to describe their systems. They are a trap for bots, letting them know where the trap is and how it works would make it less effective. Uh huh -- sure. And describing how Santa Clause manages to make it all the way around the world in one night, distributing toys to good children all over the planet, doesn't make IT any less effective -- or believable for that matter.

  21. "Fornic Asian"
  22. Or you could fly fish in Shilo for nearly the same XP per hour as C2 fishing ...
  23. Only by accident ... I actually got in trouble today. Apparently calling someone a "botter" is racist. You not have to call them a "botta." "Racist", Gracie?
  24. Well, the Islanders went to hell in a handbasket when ... Oh, wait, I see what you did there. :shame:
  25. Yes, I am sorry that I am getting insulting, but this is literally like trying to lead a horse to water and making him drink. I've never seen anyone so obviously blind and ill-informed about the team and players he claims he supports. MOST Leafs fans will concede that Gustavvson and Kessel were bad moves -- it takes a particularly dense one to ignore all the obvious facts staring them in the face.
