  1. Um -- what are we seeing here?
  2. ... and yet people get muted for such infractions all the time -- or used to. Case in point. My brother-in-law plays as well. One evening, he went down into the Dust Devil's and forgot his facemask. He died and lost some reasonably valuable gear. He was so embarrassed at himself for doing such a noobie thing that, when he was trying to explain to another player where his valuable gear went, he lied and told a story that his son had been on his account and lost the gear. That player reported him for account sharing. He was muted and received a "black mark".
  3. Yeah - I selected "encouraging others to break the rules" or whatever the wording is ... For some strange reason, I would swear that there used to be a "Real World Trading" button in the report screen, though I may be and probably am wrong.
  4. But that begs the question -- depending entirely upon just "how" this amendment to the RoW goes, of course -- will it better to go after a slight increase in a percentage chance of a better drop each kill, or a slightly more efficient kill-rate per trip? Either way, it seems to me to be a "gamble" -- but which is the better wager?
  5. So I was mining this star last night and while I was there a person came along and started telling me her life history. Inter-mixed with her life story was a recent event in which she was scammed for 30M coins. She said that she bought an Xbox Live Card for someone she met at Runescape, and that he'd pay her 50M coins of Runescape money. Apparently, she bought the card and then contacted him in game. He gave her 20M coins up front, with the promise that he'd pay her the balance when she gave him the redemption code. She gave him the redemption code and then logged and, most likely, put her on his ignore list. Anyways, by her book, she was "scammed" for 30M coins. In my book, she was Real World Trading. So I decided, being the Wod Mannabe I am , that this kind of activity should be reported if anything. So I pulled up ye olde Report Abuse screen and ... I didn't see "Real World Trading" as an option to report. Now it was very late I was kind of half-awake and I might be wrong but, wasn't "real world trading" a reportable option once upon a time? Is it still there and I've missed it?
  6. There's no option for fishing?

No, the point has been made several times before and quoting it again would be redundant. Then I am Sally come lately - I scrolled through a few pages and saw no hard data -- just some base numbers. I'd like a link if you can find it. You know what's funny about Arguing with Idiots? They first preface a section with an "idiot's question," then they proceed to answer it with examples, historical facts and hard data. They then go down the line of all the questions and stupid points an "idiot" would bring up in that same vein of argument. Unfortunately, that book is at home right now, so all the statistics and sources it found are not at my fingertips, but the larger points they make that I still remember are: -Average police response sucks, on the order of 7 minutes or more. -The police are not required by law to protect civilians (from a court case where the cop being sued was on duty in a position to help but chose not to) -There tends to be an inverse relationship of the percentage of population that is armed versus the overall amount of violent crime - Isn't 7 minutes is acceptable? The common perception always seemed that you could get a pizza to arrive faster than the police. - I realize that the police aren't required to protect civilians. Laws are likewise more oriented to preserving property than human lives. What do you think that says about or society? - Are you saying that more guns makes less violent crime? I'd like to see that data, because from what I have found those numbers don't hold up. Let's make that a discussion point for later. I'm out of here now, and away most of the night. I will go poking about for the data I had on that and present it later. Most likely tomorrow. Okay?
  8. I think there's something about two wrongs not making a right involved here ...

Pretty much every statistic used in this thread has been cited by a reputable source, or a reputable source has been given when asked. Maybe you're not paying any attention? Actually - you're the one not paying attention. Scroll back and read where I made my original comment. Two guys claiming percentages and neither of them backing the statistics with hard data. :P Our society requires police officers, who are armed to protect citizens (I don't understand your argument - "boo hoo some people are mean") So - if you've an armed police force, then why do you need guns to protect yourself? I'm pretty sure that people who own firearms strictly for defensive reasons do not have "the intention of harming another person", because it would be a contradiction of terms. Really? Ask the common populace if, they were in possession of a firearm, whether or not they'd open fire on some one in their home that they thought were taking their things and you'd likely end up with a very high percentage that'd say "yes". Keep in mind -- that question is posed carefully. I am not calling them a "dangerous intruder". It's not a "home invasion". It's merely someone in their home. You're quoting Glenn Beck!??! SERIOUSLY?
  10. Same. Give MLSE some competition. Oh god, don't get me started on this topic ... That said -- I've been curious why Jim Balsillie hasn't been tweeking the Sabres ownership.
  11. Thanks for this, it makes more sense to me now. :shades:
  12. Wrong forum - this should be in suggestions? It'd be a lot simpler if we could "right click" and choose to report someone.
  13. I wonder if one of the tweaks of the RoW update would affect charm drop rates? Perhaps wearing a RoW might increase your chance of a crimson or blue charm drop?
  14. Sadly, I think you're right. We've seen Cujo and the Dominator steal series and carry a team within a short distance of a Cup, but, while I like Carey Price, and I thnk he is the goalie of the future, he's not there yet. Montreal has some good boys down on the farm though, in Hamilton. We go and see the Bulldogs play from time to time. Not NHL superstars or anything, but very capable farm hands that may help out along the way. We got to see Price, first hand, pretty much single handedly win the Calder Cup. It was something to watch, I can tell you. <3: I don't think there are any "cup stealing" goalies this year. TT maybe, but when he tanks, he tanks hard.... True, but never give up the "surprise" goalie. Look at Leighton last season and how close Philly got. Yeah I'd like to see Pheonix do well. Also LA. I absolutely refuse to cheer for Phoenix. There shouldn't even have a team down there. It should be in Winnipeg where it belongs.
  15. Oh crap! Bank space! Well - it appears that I won't be making much of this new gear for a while, yet ... <_<

Neat quote. I've never heard that one. :shades:
  18. I think you've got a good point about Astral. I'm kinda looking forward to seeing Blood (red) and Nature (green). Being the fashionista I am, I love new clothes! <3:  It would be a good point if it wasn't for the small fact: There is already an astral door in the corridor and as seen in the chaos puzzle this guy knows about astral runes. Plus if we assume a full set to come we have: Legs, Ring, Amulet, Weapon, Cape. Runes remianing: Astral, Nature, Law, Death, Blood 5 items to set, 5 runes left. Ah -- see -- I haven't done the quest yet, so I didn't know ... Hopefully, I will have time to get on tonight.
  19. That's provided that the better understands how the scam operates. Which isn't likely ...
  20. So, you're saying they use something like, what - swiftkit? Swiftkit doesn't load ads? I'm lost here, and I really don't understand. SwiftKit used to bypass RS front page and you could click straight into a world. Now you click 'play' and go to the front page where you have to naviagte it and find the world you want - HENCE viewing the adverts on the front page AND the world page. Bots go straight to a world - Dont see any adverts at all. I know that, for example, as I use the RS client from Jagex, that if I log into an F2P account, I see advertisements. But a bot doesn't use ANY kind of browser/app that shows advertisements at all? Why would they? They're already cheating, it'd be silly for them to put in adverts! :P Sweetie -- is that just an attempt to be funny, or did you miss my point? How does a bot operate within F2P Runescape if not in some kind of app/browser that does not have Jagex's advertising clients showing within it across the top of the screen?

  23. Okay - the username of the OP made me giggle. My 10th year will come in July. In 2001 I was [for all intents and purposes] a single mother. My then husband was off following his "rock-star dreams" and I was left alone to work a job, support three children on my own and a home to mind, while he was out partying with his band every night. I was bored, lonely and broke. It wasn't till 2004 that I finally got up enough nerve to keep walking after he threw me out of the house for the 15th time. Indeed, really -- how DARE I speak up to the man of the house, right? I guess I should not have made the "What is the difference between a pizza and a musician" joke. (A. A pizza can feed a family of five.) My boys found Runescape through one of those gamer sites (Newgrounds?). They started playing it and I started worrying about who they were talking to all the time. When RS2 started, I started over, using this character. The rest, as they say is history.
