The Flower Game
If what you said was true then games and forms of gambling (on-line or rl) would not be subject to age restrictions. Organisations have restrictions on what they can and can't do. That's life and the laws state it. That's the core of my objection so if you don't understand it then its the rules and regulations you have a problem with, not me. I don't expect you to agree with what I say at all otherwise debate wouldn't be as fun as it is. It's not illegal to play poker with in-game currency. Hell, the MMO Puzzle Pirates has very popular Poker tables, which anybody can use, that you use in game currency for. It's not real money, just like how the Flower Game isn't illegal, it's placing bets. It's not illegal, because you're making it sound like it is. Of course they wouldn't put Poker in Runescape but I'm saying it would be a fun idea, Poker isn't some evil thing. It's a fun game, that's all. I'm almost sorry I said anything ...

Urn Question
I would suggest talking to Ernie in Varrock about urns. Most of the questions in this thread are answered there.

Prepare to Invade Israel,
Once again, a group of "sanctioned" hotheads are declaring war on Israel ... Honestly -- how much longer can Israel's patience hold out?

Runescape Wedding Results in Under-Age Sex Trial
Unfortunately, these morons would rather pretend that it's the child or her parent(s) to blame -- because in the end, they feel safer because they think they're intelligent enough not to fall for the pedophile's wiles. Perhaps they are, but not EVERY child is so "brilliant" or well protected. What these people fail to understand, Lux, is that we're dealing not with some simple-minded child or inattentive parents here -- but rather a predator who preys upon children. If it had not been THIS child, then it would have been SOME OTHER child, who's situation was as nearly or more vulnerable than the one in question. It's merely THAT base and simple. A pedophile is a predator. They don't simply stop being a pedophile because some one child outsmarted them. The problem is that, these morons are far to thick to get the idea through their thick heads that you cannot "troll" in favour of pedophilia and come out "looking cool" ... Not to anyone with any sense of decency, anyways.

Personally -- considering all the "trust" games being created on the spot -- maybe it's time for Jagex to renovate the Games Room into a Casino ...

Runescape Wedding Results in Under-Age Sex Trial
So -- using your logic here and applying it elsewhere -- if an altar boy gets raped numerous times by a priest, it's the altar boy's fault? Right? Really? Really? Well -- I am SURE the Catholic Church will be endorsing YOUR judgment any moment now ... Wow way to go off on a completely unrelated straw man. The way I see it, there are many people at fault here. Firstly (obviously) the guy. What he did was inexcusable, sick and disgusting. He carries full blame for what happened. Secondly - the girl's parents. Good parenting involves staying on top of your kids and what they're doing - and if they'd done so this never would have happened. I don't believe you can really blame the girl much - while there may have been a certain lack of common sense, at that age someone just can't understand fully the consequences of their actions, and the common sense may not have been instilled by the parents. First of all, it's not a straw man -- it's the same goddamn situation. It's pedophilia. An adult, manipulated a situation of TRUST to have sex with a minor. Your other points are bupkus. It's pedophilia. Don't you understand that yet? After all this time? It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. Get it yet? It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. It's pedophilia. IT'S PEDOPHILIA, STUPID. Period. End of story. There is NO EXCUSE whatsoever for what this man has done. None. Period. It is the exact same circumstance in each case. It's an adult abusing a minor. It does not matter how many time he had sex with her. It does not matter if she is 13 or 17½. It's PEDOPHILIA. Until such time as our culture, or any OTHER culture, actually takes the necessary steps to come forward and provide protection for those most vulnerable amongst us (namely children ) then we're simply going to continue to have this same problem re-occurring ...

The Obligatory Ice Hockey Thread
Which does what, exactly? Puts a weak Toronto team into the the playoffs. Yay! That's no better than the Harold Ballard days. Really. This has been the problem with Leaf teams every year since 1967. The fans don't care how good the team is, just so long as it makes the playoffs -- they will continue to buy tickets. <_< Toronto fans have got to stop this "we can make the playoffs this year" [cabbage], and start looking for a team that is serious about re-building into a cup contender. To do that, they need draft picks and lots of them.

you can chop other trees OR you can chop yews in other locations .. and what, pray tell, happens when the game is so over-populated with bots that you can no longer log in?

The internet would break if you do that. Same reason you cant type Google into Google. Holy crap! I am so not doing THAT again! :ohnoes:

Runescape Bots
First of all, if Jagex's reason for not banning bots is that it's a "business" and losing these *paying accounts* would adversely affect their bottom line, then at what point does their inactivity create a shoe event horizon variant, and the entire game gets populated by nothing other than bots? Note: *paying accounts* also would include F2P accounts because F2P accounts are income sources due to ad space sales.

Jagex needs to upgrade their GE servers
I find that I liked Jagex much better years ago when they made it seem like they actually gave a damn about the people that played their game. That Jagex, undoubtedly, wouldn't hesitate to update their servers. However, the Jagex of today... It'll be a while before we see this. Lol. I realize they're a company, and as such should focus on profits. However, they also need to balance that with ensuring satisfaction of their customers... Something that, IMO, has been going downhill for some time. I think the problem is that, for those of us who played this game "back in the day", when Andrew used to pop into the gaming world and ask "How's it going?" and "What do you think about [x update]?", had gotten used to the idea that our opinions mattered. Wow -- reading back over that previous sentence -- I am starting to sound like my father. HEY! All you KIDS! GET OFF MY LAWN!

Jagex needs to upgrade their GE servers
what does this have to do with free trade? Some people say they have only seen this lag ever since free trade. So there thinking would be free trade = more players = too many for their servers to handle = lag. Personally i haven't experienced any lag at all. I thought it was just her usual "Free trade ruined everything" rant... LOL -- ^this^ is what happens when comprehension fails to meet reading ability. :shame: First of all, I'm not anti-Free Trade or Wildy -- I am merely tired of the people who "voted in favour of it", then cry about how much they lose as a result of one or the other being reintroduced. My response to whom has always been, and remains, "So, are you happy you brought back free-trade now?" As such, at this point in time, I am now asking Jagex the same question. With the reimplementation of Free Trade, there appears to be an increased demand now on the GE database for values and information on pretty much EVERYTHING that is being bought and sold. As a result, since Feb 1, there has been a noticeable degradation in the response time of the game's database to keep up with the demand for data. Jagex wanted to bring back Free Trade and the Wildy to lure people back former players to Runescape and also to make it more appealing, as a whole, to more "new" players, as well. In bringing back Free Trade and the Wildy, they created a greater ground swell of activity than they have the servers to now handle. In the end, it is my opinion, that they did this in order to attract more "investment" from third parties -- which they have done -- and most likely with the intention to sell off Runescape eventually to some other third-party buyer. Though *that* is merely speculation, it's a pretty good educated-guess. It's what one does just prior to selling off. They've already attracted the third party investment, let's see if they put some of THAT money back into the game (and improve their servers, for example) as opposed to merely lining their pockets with bonuses and dividends.

Hmmm - I wonder what the cost of upgrading servers for the GE might be? Sooooo Jagex, are you happy you brought back Free trade now? ;)

New Runscape Emotes
I'd like to see the following emotes added to Runescape: "Gag" -- points finger towards mouth and pretends to vomit. "Roll Eyes" - enough said ...

Febuary 14-Postbag from the hedge #45
I'd love to see us travel down through dungeoneering with them over a series of quests and get to where they can't remember a thing.. Personally -- I'd LOVE to see Dungeoneering actually move AWAY from Daemonheim, and actually provide locations (other than the "resource caves"), in other parts of the game. There's a few "cave entrances" I've noticed sitting idle within the current game space that don't seem to have any function whatsoever at this moment in time ...

Clanwars the most dangerous place on RS
My guess is that it is a "fixed" show -- but I have no doubts whatsoever that it's based on actual similar events. There was prolly never a Santa or a DFS involved, but I am sure a few sheep have been fleeced by this crew. <_<

Febuary 14-Postbag from the hedge #45
Dungeoneering Quest -- You're dreaming if you think you'll get an additional item bind. Since this is a "first time" Dung quest, it will likely have a low-level dung requirement (<40) and offer some mediocre experience in Dung, Smithing and Mining (since Marmaros is mentioned in the clue). Most likely, you'll be adventuring with Thok, through a relatively simple dungeon, containing a couple of relatively basic puzzles, and a "new" boss that's not that difficult to beat down. Lunar Quest is going to feature a Norse goddess or demi-goddess variant. She stole something from her father. Anyone up on their Norse mythology? I figure that this one will be a rather high level quest. Perhaps even a GrandMaster. If so, the spells that will be unlocked should be pretty freaking epic. The new Pirate Quest is going to be a continuation of the Great Brain Robbery and will pick up from where that quest left off. As such, it will feature, possible, one or more barrelchest-like creature(s) and a trip to the "factory" where these creatures are built. That means another puzzle similar to that in, say, Rum Deal. Expect to see more of Robid Jack, Mi-Gor and Brother Tranquility. Plus some funny zombie pirates. With luck, we'll even see more of Dr. Fenkenstrain and some kittens playing with yarn. I expect this to be at least a "Master" level quest perhaps higher. According to the clues, Elemental Workshop IV will feature new machinery which will make new armours namely Chaos and Cosmic.

62 crafting to make. All the information I've gotten so far is from the knowledge base, use it people :P I would if I could access Runescape from work -- but it's a "blocked site" thanks to Sonicwall ... <_<

After eating obscene amounts of that stuff, bought for a tiny sum from the natives, I proceeded to cut down dozens of trees, mined out the natural ore deposits in the area, paid vast amounts of cash to the sawmill to get some planks, killed half a dozen cows for their sinew, smelted a dozen metal bars using unrefined coal, slaughtered 26 yaks for their hair which I spun into rope, then defaced several spots of natural beauty with hidey-holes and rope racks for the convenience of abusing a rare bird species or taking shortcuts through prior undisturbed routes. After all that, I still get that warm fuzzy feeling that I did my part to save the rainforest. Ok, this made me LOL!
