  1. For the sake of asking a stupid question I realize that Korasi's sword, Barrelchest's Anchor and other "untradable" items which are "given" to you by quest rewards are "lost" when you die in The Wildy (Redux) but can you simply thereafter go back to where you got them in the first place and replace them? Also what of other similar items? Agile armour comes to mind. If I die in The Wildy (Redux), will I need to do another 250 perfect laps to earn back this armour? I assume a Torso and Fire Cape will remain as they are now, you will have to re-earn them from their respective mini-games.
  2. Funny - I figured it would say something to the effect of: "An item you are carrying is not allowed beyond this barrier. Beyond this barrier lies a playing zone that is only for noobs, scrubs and other players who insist that there be a stupid list of selective "rules", "skills" and "equipment", which they define as "honour", that only be allowed therein because their gnat-like attention span limits their abilities to properly equip their character with skills and gear for survival." Or something to that effect ...
  3. It's always funny. People look at my combat level (138) and the gear I'm wearing and usually tell me, "Nerd. Get a life." That's the point where I usually reply: "I've got a husband, three kids, a job, a house, a mortgage and a monthly car payment. How much more of a "life" do I really need?" :P
  4. LOL! Me! My opinion of Jagex's coding skills is notoriously low. Personally, I've considered taking a vacation day for Feb 1, just to see this update auger in -- but I'm not that keen to take a day off work just to sit at my computer and watch the game crash and burn to the ground ...
  5. I think it's ridiculous to omit them from the Wildy. <_<
  6. Judging by your pic, you must not be biased at all! but in all seriousness, legit players cause more lag then bots. talking clicking hovering over xp, clicking clan chat, inventory, etc. a bit more often then bots click for their next action ... especially "talking". Go to the GE on pretty much any world and leave your public chat turned on and it's "lag-o-rama" ... <_<
  7. You know, this could be one of those "game changing" aspects to the Runescape community as a whole. Recently, it's been common practice for some players to behave rudely and/or simply crash someone else's kill. Now, there's a "reason" to try and be a little more polite, and friendly, when boss killing. Of course, being the cynical bish I am, there's a pretty high percentage chance that the other person won't bless your grave if you die but at least there's a remote chance that no good deed will go unpunished ... Still -- it could be a game changer -- and depending on which way the majority lean, the community is either going to get better (more friendly play) or worse ("... it's all about meeeeee ...").
  8. Well -- considering the vast majority of the time that I encounter lag is in high traffic areas with lots of on-going conversation (like the G.E.), I'd day that it is unlikely that bots are the cause of "lag". That said, I have experienced an unusual amount of disconnections of late. I am wondering if Jagex is doing some "tinkering" in the background, in preparation for Feb 1?
  9. Remember the Fally Massacre on 6/6/6? How much to do you trust Jagex's programming?
  10. It is to stop people from manually dropping their items when they're going to die for sure, just to spite the person who's killing them. I guess. Exactly that, dropping items they'd otherwise lose (or protect over other items) so they can often run back and pick them back up when they die. Except that right now, you can't drop anything worth over 1k while in combat...But If that's the reason, I'm satisfied, because it sounds fair. It sounds stupid. :P Instead of the person killing you getting your stuff, your friend can pick your stuff up for you. :P Are there any answers about what will happen to shops? This will affect me a lot because I'm buying 1k yak hides a day atm and selling them for 700gp each (for around 2.5m gp profit/hr, more if I sell the hides for more) and if they add unlimited stock back or something this won't be possible. Also, what about the chaos tunnels? They've moving some stuff out but I haven't read about them. Also, I don't think bringing potions/borrowed into the wilderness hasn't been thought through: what if you wanna go in the chaos tunnels or kill the KBD/Chaos Elemental or something with borrowed dragon claws and overloads? Nothing about these changes sound good to me (they didn't initially either) and If there was a referendum now after seeing the big picture, I would expect it to be pretty close compared to what the results were. The same applies for killing steels and irons in Ghorrock. I guess if you want to take extremes there, you're euchred ...
  11. It is to stop people from manually dropping their items when they're going to die for sure, just to spite the person who's killing them. I guess. Exactly that, dropping items they'd otherwise lose (or protect over other items) so they can often run back and pick them back up when they die. I would imagine that this is also a means to avoid certain RWT situations wherein a player and a gold farmer would DD and the gold farmer would drop an item or coins, and the player would then wait for the elapsed time to pick them up.
  12. [herblore nazi] No extremes for you! QFC: 254,255,55,62204744 [/herblore nazi] read this quite some time ago. Although it doesn't work with commas dividing it up. Says an Extreme boost tho. So maybe I can glitch ovls in for a few weeks. Also, all I need is a Wolper to hit max mage damage boost anyway. Dds is just to make them pray melee, I can hit 600+ with that already. I am assuming it means OVLs too. That said, personally, I think OVLs and Extremes SHOULD be allowed in the new "old" Wildy (Redux), but hey, that's just my opinion. "If you're going into the danger zone, the madness is runnin' wild!"
  13. How about a right click "loot" option on gravestones that does this? It would probably be easier to program in the game, and far less glitchy initially (envisioning the first person to step on your gravestone getting ALL your gear). @Grimy lol that would be a pretty good price for a firecape imo. If they were tradable. Knowing jagex, it's probably more like 50k or something. :/ High alchemy value for a fire cape is 36K .. <_<
  14. There will be a spike of people acting like asses to get others killed when the update comes out, but eventually it will go back to how it was pre-07. Those who want to help will help, and those who want free stuff will wait and see if you don't make it back in time. This system is still more lenient because it offers you the chance of not only getting back in time, but that some stranger might walk by while said player is camping your grave and bless it. Do you think someone who isn't going to bless your chaotic-filled grave now was going to bless your grave before? Unlikely. This isn't going to change behavior from how it was in 2007, Runescape will always have that proportion of players. We're not in Kindergarten anymore, folks, we're going back to the days where death didn't include an immediate expectation that your items would be safe until you returned, and people actually didn't risk what they couldn't afford to lose. I could not agree more. Gravestones were instituted as additional means of stopping RWT. Prior to the inception of gravestones, upon death your gear was looted immediately. End of story. Hell - I know ALL of us, in those days without gravestones, would stand around and watch someone die -- waiting to pounce on whatever goodies could be pilfered. Frankly, I think this is a pretty fair deal. At least some gear will now be lootable, and it will remain protected for a reasonable amount of time. Not to mention that, at least within my own clan chat, when one of us goes down, there's usually someone (a friend) nearby who can get to your grave and bless it.

  16. Looks like we're getting a new room for our POH ...
  17. You should have sold it max yesterday then. Now is a bit too late, I'd wait it out. LOL! That's me! Ride the wave! :ohnoes:
  18. Personally I am sooooooo tempted to sell-off my yellow. I bought it for 51M+BGS+Mage Book during the last major crash two years ago. So anything over that is pure profit in my books. Hell, I'd love to add 500M to my coffers. There's a lot of skills I could buy for that money. Problem is I <3: my phat <3: !
  19. GF grave blessing. Now nobody will bless graves anymore. :P Absolutely idiotic by Jagex >.< Well - call me a "sucker", but I'd surely bless the graves of friends ... Random people who call me "noob" and tell me to "gtfo" -- not likely.
  20. Today's GE update: Blue: +5.5 @ 671.1 White: +5.3 @ 582.1 Red: +4.6 @ 552.2 Green: +4.6 @ 528.3 Yellow: +4.7 @ 532.3 Purple: -5.4 @ 531.3 Personally, I am not sure what to make of all this. I trust you folks and your valuations and notions, but right now it seems more to me that what we're seeing, right now, is something of a "correction" in the market in terms of the order of valuation of phats. I think we're going to see a continued drop in purple and then yellow next, to set them both lower in value than green. But after that, who knows, really? After free trade, will phats really drop to, say, the 300-550 range, or will they maintain a much higher value? How can we know?
  21. We used to call that a "Wilderness Death March" ... Actually a Death March is when a clan forms a square, and all walk in the same direction at once. So, tell me, when did you stop contradicting people? Since when is correcting the same as contradicting?... And I can't wait to surprise lurers personally. As far back as 2003 -- and perhaps even earlier than that -- a group of players from this very fansite, used to conduct a weekly "Wilderness Death March" every Sunday morning. We'd load up on burnt fish and don bronze armour (if that) and we'd play follow the leader until such time as we were all dead. THAT is what I am referring to. I can provide documentary evidence of THAT if you'd like. His response is not trying to"correct" me -- he's merely being contradictory for the sake of being contradictory. /end of story

  23. Just for the record, I considered pointing out the fallaciousness of his arguments too. lol. I only did it because he tried to use his "knowledge" of fallacies to escape from responding to me. "She" and "her" ... I'm female. :P You're attempting to argue that, because the Wildy and Free Trade were eliminated at the same time, then they MUST be inter-dependent. It's already been clearly demonstrated by LCool and others that the two aspects are not inter-dependent. You can have one without the other. :shame: Jagex produces polls every week with multiple selections and yet they are oddly unable and unwilling to do so in this circumstance? Why? It is abundantly clear that this has been planned for a while yet the actual production and presentation has been entirely shoddy, half-assed and half-baked. Why? All that seems to matter is that you and people like you are happy about it. It appeases so many people, apprarently, that it is being blindly accepted and remains unquestioned. Why is that? Why isn't anyone asking "why now"? Obviously Jagex has neither the willingness or the ability to stop the rampant cheating being conducted within the game. Once the Wildy and Free Trade come back, players on Runescape will only become even more dishonest. Why would Jagex do this? Is this move going to make an improvement on the quality of the Runescape community? When offered the choice of drinking the Kool Aid or ask questions first I always ask questions. Why don't you? I'm curious ...
