  1. Right logic, wrong conclusion. For each individual monster killed, your chances of getting a drop won't increase. However, if you look at the whole picture, a person who kills more monsters has more opportunities to get the drop, and thus has a larger chance of getting the drop. The ability to calculate drop rate is one of my conclusions ;) But it would require too much organization...
  2. in the actual duel areas or the entire arena?
  3. :D For me: 1) Finishing Dragonslayer and then finding someone die right in front of the lair, dropping rune large and square. At the time, those were really valuable items, each more expensive than a party hat (my char is ancient... I've played 6 years on and off, but it only amounts to about 3 years consecutively) 2) Wearing my party hat, 3rd age range, 3rd age mage, fury, Barrows gloves, favorite melee set (G Helm, D Top and Legs) or Fighter torso. 3) Getting through all 6 brothers, using melee, without prayer pots, using about 15 tuna 4) Surviving the following scenario: In the tunnels without prayer, 1 shark and 1 tuna left, 70 HP. Dharok spawns. Get him down to ~30 HP without being hit any damage. He hits 44, I eat a shark, hits 25. Try to run by blocking Dharok with a door. A twin Dharok spawns, and I ectophial away right when he's about to hit. Woulda lost ~4M 5) Finding ways to do things better than the status quo/ordinary methods (3 and 4 happened to me today... )
  4. Isn't the whip as fast as a dagger? :-k DDS special is 2x as fast as whip.
  5. I made charlie brown , but I dont have the picture since I couldnt stand the baldness of it all
  6. That's awfully likely... good find :) Physically, though, I think the dungeon is going to be that big obtuse black square just west of the wild. It's the only space big enough for anything above ground (which I'm assuming there will be in addition to the dungeon)
  7. The average thing doesn't really work. Since it's hard to kill KQ, most people won't kill more than 300-400 in their RS lifetimes, usually not enough kills to get exactly (or even close to) the drop ratio. You probably need at least 1000 kills, maybe more, and you'll get something like 8-12 drops which is close enough to the actual ratio.
  8. Still waiting on that untrimmed hits cape Current options: Change top to 3A range, Change bottom to flares
  9. [hide=Introduction] Introduction Half of Runescape is chance: whether you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re trying to attain a max hit, digging for 3rd age, or monster hunting for treasure. Understanding chance, or probability, will help you to better understand how often you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll get a drop, or when you can expect to see one of those awesome DDS specs. In this guide, we will investigate weaponry, rare items, the controversial ring of wealth (ROW), and so many more unanswered questions using our understanding of probability.[/hide] Drop Rates [hide=Basics] The Basics: Drop Rates - Usually, we like to express chance using a fraction, decimal, or percent. Let̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s say we have a 1 in 100 chance of getting a dragon chain from a kalphite queen. We write this as 1/100, .01, or 1% chance. - We can multiply probabilities to find the chance of the same event more than one time. For example, the chance of us getting 2 dragon chains in a row is (1/100) x (1/100), or 1/10000. - We have a 99/100 chance of not getting the chain. If the chance of getting the chain was 1/1000, we would have a 999/1000 chance of not getting the chain. The chance of something not happening is 1 minus the chance of that something happening, or (1 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ chance). - Based on my second and third conclusions, we can say we have a (99/100) x (99/100), or (99/100)^2 chance of not getting a chain after two kalphite queens. After three KQs, our chance of not getting the chain would be (99/100)^3. After five KQs, our chance of not getting the chain would be (99/100)^5, and so on. - You can also conclude we have a 1 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ (99/100)^2 chance (= .0199, or 1.99%) of getting the chain after two KQs, or 1 ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ (99/100)^5 chance (= .049, or 4.9%) of getting the chain after five KQs. After killing ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åx̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  10. The guy's hair is also jet black, compared to the dark gray we have now
  11. That happened a lot during the period of sideways growth; a lot of stakers got banned. But nothing happened.
  12. I took a 1-month hiatus to find Santas up 4M, my White up 50M, purples up 25M. Its been a long while since this happened. Im thinking its because: 1) 3rd age crashed after Dfire shield, 2) Capes are getting old. Or, it could be a price manip. But it's hard to find a manip that goes across both hats and small rares. Ideas?
  13. Money; XP can be bought.
  14. You guys are too quick to criticize. The mixes are useful when the extra 3rd/4th doses aren't useful. Some examples: PKing (you can just bank when you run out of pots), Tzhaar Fight Pits (I usually don't use more than 1-2 doses per round)
  15. 1) Coal prices will stay around 200 ea, because of MTK. 2)Don't forget the effect on F2P: Mining is now a possible moneymaker on F2P. If an addy bar is 2500, subtract 1200 for the coal and an addy ore is 1300. If you mine 100 of these in an hour (~35+ seconds each), that's 130K an hour. 130K is quite good pay for F2P. 3) Crossbow demand is permanent. XBow is one of the best range weapons in the game. Mith bolts are equivalent of Bolt racks, and people used to pay 300 each for the disposable racks. People will just have to get used to the increased prices, I think they're here to stay.
  16. Interesting that many of your drops come from times when you have a full invent.
  17. Don't worry, I sold a red p hat once for 300 chaos runes and a chef hat  700 Bolts is only 140K. Chump change for anyone who uses MTK.
  18. I highly doubt they will update our avatars any time soon, if ever. Updating avatars would probably require updating all armor and clothing - a large undertaking.
  19. They're lower image quality. RS details just look horrible so it looks better without them.
  20. NOTE: Excuse me, readers, for the incomplete guide. I'm hoping I'm an exception; I really want feedback for this guide. I'm several hours into writing this baby and about 50% done, and now I have to leave for a 1.5 month vacation during which I will not have consistent internet access. Because I still have a fair amount of work to do on this guide, I may decide not to complete it if I don't get good feedback. Thus, please leave as much feedback as possible! NOTE #2: This is quite a boring read. If you're reading guides to look at some pretty pictures, this guide is not for you. If you're reading guides to actually learn things, then read this. It's long, but I think it will prove valuable. ... It may surprise you that a guide has been written about armor. There are many aspects to armor that are neglected by the general Runescape population. These aspects primarily include when defense is important and how to use armor to actually counter the combat triangle, as well as cost efficiency. The latter is a bit more complicated than you might think; it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not just using dragonhide as a meleer to defend against magic. I will refer to most things with their internal designations, such as dhide for dragonhide, PvP for player versus player, or noob for newbie. Part I Most things in this section are quite basic and are intended for level 85-. However, I suggest that everyone read this section. You might pick up on one or two surprising little facts that might prove quite useful. Understanding this section will help you understand part II. [hide=Basic Concepts]Basic Concepts Basics. Let̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s first understand the absolute basics of the combat system and how armor values are incorporated into the system. There are 3 main combat skills for every combat class: accuracy, defense, and power. Accuracy lets you hit more often. Defense lowers the likelihood that you will be damaged. Power increases the amount of damage you will do. Statistic factors. Here are the factors that affect each. I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m including pots and prayer to be included as part of the ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ålevel̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  21. 93 Hits : I'm going for 99 Hits Untrimmed. 92 Attack: Attack is versatile, useful in both PvP and PvNPC 92 Defense: Defense is useful for main accounts. It's only bad for staking armor off and PKing. 90 Strength: I can still hit high, but without the excessive 95+ strength. With ring, pot, etc. I can hit in the high 30's and almost 40. 85 Cooking: Wild pies. I hit 85 in F2P, and haven't skilled anything since.
  22. I tested training range with rune xbow, rune kite, and steel untipped bolts. I received 25K/hour xp. I use up 300 bolts per hour using the accumulator, costing me 18K/hour gp. Normally I get 35K/hour xp with Iron knives. They cost somewhere around the 35K/hour mark. I think iron is still better.
  23. 3A kite looks darned ugly. About time it fell to the price it deserves.
  24. 7 range attack can be sacrificed for the extra damage that they do
  25. One interesting thing to note is that Vengeance doesn't work very well on Dark Bow. The bow hits "70" but Vengeance only works on one of the arrows.
