  1. I'm with Valara on this one, chaos are ok if you want the money but you'll make 50gp per rune max. Cosmics are good if you want to go and train your mage at the training arena. Both suck in terms of speed unless you use the abyss. Fires are way better (you can make your money back on them, even profit). If you have a bit of money to burn then do bodies (more xp) you can't sell them (no-one seems to buy) but you can use them to train mage.
  2. This one? http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=529286
  3. Can't you just go back the way you came? Through the tunnel.
  4. Ah, man. Sorry to see you go. I remember your campaign to move the official temple building world. I spent ages training up and getting the quests only to find out it had already gone under. But I'm glad you tried. You'll surely be a loss to tip.it's p2p community. Enjoy your party. df
  5. Well worth it. You don't even have to do Fairy Tale Part 2 just do the very start (no herby or farming required). This way you can go to the abyss fully tooled to camp out for pouches. Plus its an easy and quick tele back to the bank to restock.
  6. Good def has to be the one, I'd love the no food (Guthan's) option but I can't quite stretch to it :) I'm planning on using it mainly for slayer but I was also thinking of Barrows because of the strong Melee and Range def and taking mystic for the Ahrim. I see a lot of guides but none has this set up so I guess there's something I haven't thought of:)
  7. Thanks guys. I was pretty sure that Torags would be good overall. Still not sure about Barrowing in it though...
  8. Any other problems check out this sticky: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=516151
  9. Ok, so I've got my character up to 70 att, 70 str, 65 def, 72 range and 68 mage. It's been slow (9 months total, 7 months members) because I've been busy with other stuff. Anyhow, as soon as I get my cash out of Throne of Misc I'll be buying a whip so I reckon I'll be at 70 def in about a weeks or so. After all of this I'll have 2-3mil to spend on stuff so I was thinking one of the lower priced barrows sets (maybe obby shield and cape as well). Question is: which barrows set to get? Note that I'm only really looking at: Torag's (no hams), Ahrim's or Karil's (I would love Guthan's but there's no way I'm saving up 9.5-10mil right now). What I really want to do is train slayer so I'm leaning towards Torag's. However, I'm also looking at a bit of Barrowing maybe. Is there any particular reason not to use Torag's (against Melee and Range) and Mystic (against Ahrim) to barrow in? I have looked at a lot of guides but I seem to fall between 'low' levels (chaos bolt attacks/monks robes) and 'high' levels (full Guthan's and House teles). Any advice on sets or methods for barrowing very welcome, Cheers.
  10. Wewt. Was expecting this to have a construction requirement or something else random and high(ish). But no, looks like one I can do. Man that ghetto thing looks like the least fun thing so the reward better be worth it (Prayer altar near the barrows FTW maybe?) Good few hours before I can get started though :( On a side note: I hope everyone is training their fishing up for the Witchaven quest (maybe a new minigame too?)
  11. You have to talk to the captain before you can fight him.
  12. You have to complete Creature of Frenkenstrain (and all the build up quests).
  13. As a member of the tip it staff I can confidently say that I have no idea, 999mil is a bit far off for me. I can see no reason why Jagex would implement such a scheme though. Offtopic: I think quite a few players have in excess of 2.1bil in rares so it could happen at any time
  14. Wow, that's a pretty exhaustive and well written guide, I am waaay impressed :) A few things occur: 1. Collecting big bones: You can pick the Brass Key up for free at the respawn in Edgy dungeon. 2. When smelting steel you can withdraw 9 iron then All coal, smelt, then withdraw All coal, store All steel bars and withdraw All iron. This means you never have to put in numbers (at least not after your first withdrawl). This also works very well for stringing bows. 3. Did you put in Throne of Miscellenia, I didn't see? After getting access to the Fairy Ring network this becomes very profitable, I make about 80k per day from it and all it costs is one Glory teleport (to edgville to access the fairy rings) and five minutes of my time, plus maybe an hour a week to sell the products.
  15. Pot lids are P2P. Tiaras are best, leather is easier and cheaper
  16. Greaters certainly drop clues. Not sure about black demons. What about killing green dragons in the wildy. At your level pkers shouldn't be too much of a problem and you get about 4k from each one you kill just on 100% drops. Kill a load, glory back to edge, repeat. I usually take rune plate, glory, d scim, anti fire shield and an inventory of monkfish. Plus an ectophial for emergencies.
  17. Under the pub in Burthorpe, go down the trapdoor behind the bar. There's a man on the west side of the room (I forgot his name) one of the right click options will be Bank.
  18. Just follow the steps you followed in the quest (there is an asterix in the quest guide showing where you have to start from - I think you have to go and see the Dwarf (Edit: Sorry its a gnome called Glorie) in prison under the gnome tree village if you threw the pebble away).
  19. I have never seen a quest guide which states that you require Guthans or a cannon for that matter. Maybe sometimes it will say that a cannon might help, but that's a pretty fair statement I would say. Our quest guides are always pitched at the average player. Sure some of the higher level minigame guides offer strategies in which you have to use Guthans but even then there are other strategies for players without. Besides which, if you really want to complain then complain to Jagex about the fact that they have introduced some minigames for higher level players (myself not included btw) but then if everything was accessible straight away then what would be the point in playing. I have never had a problem with any of the guides here and I never had more than 2mil in the bank so I don't see the problem really.
  20. I did it yesterday without any problem. You have to talk the poison salesman and every member of the house. Then you have to check the locations listed in the quest guide until you find one that doesn't smell of poison. Also you need the fingerprints.
  21. Shilo is good for fly fishing, just buy 10k feathers and camp out. Cook the fish later in the Rogues den. You'll catch about 33% salmon and 66% trout. You need to do Shilo Village Quest to access the village. Once you have the requirements do Swan Song and start fishing monkfish, 120 xp per and they're quick. I don't know about Al-Kharid, I only ever fished shrimp there when I was f2p newb.
  22. In answer to the original question. I think the reason they don't give you your money back for old copies is because that would involve them giving you money. Which generally isn't how Microsoft like to do things. Personally I'd pay a bit extra for them to take out all of the redundant old stuff from their OSs, that way they wouldn't have a memory requirement of however many megabytes they're up to now. Anyone for a sweepstake on the size of the first MS vista service pack?
  23. Ranarr weed go for about 7k Seeds for 20-25k, each seed yields about 6 weeds on average, slightly more if you use the magic secateurs from Fairt Tale Pt. 1 Snape grass isn't particularly hard to get but the spawns are a fair way from the bank, I think it sells for 500-1000 each. Prayer pots 3/4 dose: What everyone else said. Having said that, I generally keep most of my pray pots so I make them up into fours so I can reuse my vials and carry more doses. By the way Eadgar's Ruse gives 11k herby xp if you haven't done it already.
  24. You see the section marked Code in my post? Just copy and paste it into yours, it should work just fine.
