So I'm trying to get my Dung up to a level where I can team. Question is: what is the optimal complexity at which to do dungeons? At the moment I am doing the first 75% of accessible floors at C1 then going to C5/6 on the last 25% of accessible floors. Example: right now I am level 37 so I can do up to floor 19. So I'd do f1-15 at C1 then f16-19 at C5/6. Is there a better way to up my xp rate?

Two guides I have looked at, can't comment on their accuracy though: One Two

Ok. I can't cannon in the Tunnels though? Is cannoning unnecessary in your opinion? I've tried out the Rev dungeon. It's pretty quiet and quite quick with the cannon but the run out slows it up a bit.

Thanks to both. I'll try the dragons in the Rev dungeon. I thought snaps but wasn't sure without scroll. Cheers

So, after coming back to RS2/TIF since forever ago I am looking to make some cash and my plan is thus: - Dailies - all the ones I can be bothered with - which isn't many - MTK (I have both quests and just do it for the $$ - although I do keep some seeds to train farm) - Herb farming (currently Dunging for scroll of life but don't have it yet) - Green dragons (prosy, best prayer, dragon shield, whip, supers, BoB (Terrorbird atm worth it?), cannon) Question 1: Good plan? Any better ideas? I am open to suggestions which are more efficient or which you personally find fun. Question 2: Herb farming at my level without scroll or juju (newfangled Hunter skill is on my list after Dung and Slayer) - toadflax or snaps or something else? Question 3(a-c): Assuming I do drags. Is my setup good? Last time I did green drags north of Edgy (five years ago probably) I got PKed in about five seconds flat - is that likely to be a problem nowadays? Where is best to do them? Just to emphasise - anything you think is fun, or more efficient I am open to suggestion. Relevant stats or lack of should be in sig. Cheers, df tl;dr: snaps or toadflax without juju/scroll? Best setup/location for green drags? Should I do something else?

Apologies if I'm treading old ground, I only got to page 4 of the thread then it looked a bit like an argument. Re: Welcome to RunesCape A nice article, well written and summing up some interesting developments. Personally, I couldn't be less interested in running around in a cape that proves I created my account more than five years ago but if people want to then fair game to them. I don't really see the logic in capes at all - mostly you are announcing your achievement (in the loosest sense of the word) to strangers who couldn't care less. I don't have a t-shirt with my A-level results written on it. It smacks a bit of juvenile egotism to me. Re: A Lack of Skill I can't say I really agree with much of this article, although the arguments are well phrased and the writing is easy to follow. and Yes but you can't separate difficulty and popularity by this measure and I'm not sure that a skill which is difficult to train (by which we really mean time consuming) is therefore a 'bad' skill. Also it is only really slow because you have to gather the charms using other skills (ok mostly just combat and maybe slayer but still). This, for me, is one of the more pleasing elements. Summoning is a skill you have to work towards through other endeavours, rather than Construction which is eminently buyable. That isn't to say that Construction is bad, just buyable (not that I have bought it to any great extent). Arguments about realism in an MMORPG are largely moot. Besides. Magic? Provided a skill is balanced and integrated (more of this below) it is fine by me. Not to deride this article but I would say that this is a much more interesting debate and would love to see a Times article kicking that off. Personally, I would like to see more integration of skills into one another both in the rewards (which happens to an extent now - mostly supporting combat except Construction which is a good example) but also in the training requirements (such a Summoning). I feel that Hunter for example doesn't offer me quite enough in the way of cross skill rewards. This might be because I don't understand the rewards (although I did read up on it when I considered putting time into it when I returned to the game) or that the rewards don't support my major in game hobbies (herb and slayer). I would also argue that a lack of integration is not a new phenomenon - see Firemaking. In my opinion the ceaseless clamour for new content, especially skills and equipment has lead to the bloating of RS2. For example, the death of smithing - largely due to widely available combat equipment superior to rune.

Is anyone else just completely disappointed with everyone?
dogfever replied to IHasChicken's topic in General Discussion
It's a big ask when you've been wrongfully banned and part of the community will still kick when you are down. There are obviously alot of issues that need solving and i don't see anything improving until some hard decisions are made. I don't think you should take the statements of a few trolls as representative of the general feelings of the TIF users towards the efficiency movement or your and the other figureheads of the movement personally. Actions committed under a flag aren't always sanctioned or supported by the leadership or the majority as I think your movement also has recent experience of. I for one will miss several members of your movement if they choose not to return to these boards (although I will join your boards as well) some not so much. Equally, I would miss a number of remaining TIFers if they left and others not so much. As regards your issues with the moderators (not specifically mentioned in your post but another facet of this dispute) I am pleased to see that some of the contentious bans have been reversed - it shows that the system is functional to an extent albeit not perfect. However, I am not quick to judge the staff involved because I don't underestimate the difficulty of the job that they do. I'm sure there are always better ways of doing something and always improvements to be made but TIF is a very large entity now and necessarily change is slow but I think there have been enough posts from admins on this thread to show that they are open to change - perhaps not as fast as some people would like but the intent is still good. Maybe your new forum will present and prove (as per some of the evidence based approaches vaunted in above posts) new ways of operating a site. I don't think it is in anyone's best interests to dwell on the past, and to define 'sides' in the dispute would seem to be somewhat simplistic as the immature or inflammatory actions and statements of individuals are ascribed to the 'side' rather than seen for what they really are. Both TIF and the efficiency movement have trolls but I wouldn't recommend judging either forum on the basis of a few unrepresentative idiots and misguided people. I am looking forward to seeing what you guys do over there as much as I look forward to spending time going back to lurking over here. EDIT: Just to point out that the discussion about taking 'sides' is a general observation and not directed. -
Better still; low alch them so that when you die and drop the coins there is even less gp for the person luring.

I use super compost because I grow watermelons anyway. Also, as Ermin says, supercompost ingredients are so cheap now it makes sense to use it pretty much everywhere it makes a difference.
-
I do limps on all 4 allotment slots. I usually water them once when planting and use s compost and generally get a reasonable success rate. Seeds cost practically nothing so what's to lose?
-
No it won't. There may be some instability in price during the transition, probably mostly due to scammers, but there is no fundamental reason why any price will change outside of usual fluctuations with the exception of items where the price is held artificially high or low by the GE. Also effect and affect are both nouns and both verbs.
-
I did those levels just using MTK herbs and buying seconds. No idea how much it cost me - not much or I would have noticed - but it isn't quick. On the other hand you might as well do it.

Noob double post sorry

Guthans is very good. I have lower stats than you and I could probably stay down there indefinitely with Guthans (I only usually do a Slayer task and leave).
-
You need to continuously get you approval up, however you can change what you want just before you collect. The coffers need to have at least 750k in them all the time for max effect. This is what I have always understood to be the mechanism.

If you are going to be using a gilded altar or ectoing the bonus xp weekend won't have an effect on the xp you earn (shame because I have a few hundred to do) Most of the bones I gather are from blue dragon slayer tasks in the cave under gu'tannoth south of Yanille. Bank runs are pretty quick and with 96 range and arma you should clock up a full load of bones (suggest you take hides as well and sell to fund bone buying) in a few minutes - no idea how many though as my range is only 80. I usually kill 10-12 depending on inventory space and it takes me about one minute per dragon (an estimate - never timed it).

My combat < yours but I usually use: Prossy legs (verac skirt better but maybe overkill) + chest D boots Rune gloves Unholy book Sara stole Slayer helm Whip Pray boosting cape of some sort Inv: 2 pray pots 1 super att 1 super str Holy wrench (maybe not worth it for the extra inv spot) By the time I run out of pray I have usually filled my inv with irit+ then just home tele for Lummy altar and bank and Slayer ring back to Tower (or Edgeville Glory and Fairy Rings). If you kill quicker then maybe fewer pray pots - or pick up better herbs only. Never used the Macaw, will do now though. I easily make back the two pray pots in ranarrs and better herbs/seeds Congratulations on on 70 slayer. Abby Spectres are an easy profit.

Anyone!? im sitting in game doing nothing as i cant move forward with anything! Please help!! You need swamp paste not swamp tar :)

I have seen some people claim that it gives xp to the two skills that you didn't use. So if you used defensive attack modes it would give you attack and strength xp. I cannot confirm that.

how price of (g) and (t) stuff will change in time?
dogfever replied to poopytroopy's topic in Help and Advice
It will drop. F2p is the only market for it now and there is too much supply atm. Any new armours for f2p, even new weapons, skills or other money sinks will only push prices down further. -
What do you think about the huge whip price drop?
dogfever replied to jpd2's topic in General Discussion
Anything that is a drop will eventually reach an equilibrium market price. Whips have been falling continually since a few days after they were released. The only reason they cost so much in the first place was they were good and rare. They will eventually reach an equilibrium price like everything else (d2h, d wc axe etc.) after that they will move less. I paid more than 1.8 for mine but I knew they would drop, generally speaking anything which isn't a truly rare object (phat, santa etc.) is a poor long term investment. In short, I don't care if I lost money, I like my whip and I wasn't expecting to sell at a profit. So no the price drop doesn't bother me. -
Go to the security stronghold and kill Ankou's. I have lower stats than you but I would come back from a trip there (20 monkfish and 2x nomal attack/strength pots(4)) with 20k xp (approx) and about 100 deaths and 100 bloods and a handful of laws. If you have bones to peaches you can stay there forever. Edit: I seemed to get more runes without a ROW. They also drop level 3 clue scrolls, but not often.
