  1. : EDIT [september 27, 2008]: There were a few grammatical structures that were annoying me and points that I missed in my original rant. But I'm not going to touch it. Instead, I'll put an edited version here: [hide=]"ya omg I agree wit u. all runners in fog r noobz." If that's something along the lines of what you're thinking, then let me tell you now that my problem isn't with people who run in Fist of Guthix. My problem is you. FoG runners are not noobs. It's a completely valid and viable tactic in this game. If anything, I believe that you're the noob for saying that. "Sad" is the response I seem to get whenever I try to avoid my caper. Why so serious? Let's put on a smile :D Why? This is a GAME with strategy involved. Why else would Jagex not separate the rounds into tiers like in BH? It is possible to win against a guy 30 or 40 levels higher than you, but this requires tactics and strategy, including running. This object of the game is to gain charges and survive. Yes, people who run are more difficult to catch and take longer to find, but this is a GAME, and they're just trying to win it. This game is not only about standing in the center taking hit after hit, where the only strategy would be to switch between prayers and armour. If that was the way the game was intended to be played, then Jagex might as well as have used a much smaller room and taken away the teleorb. This is a game that requires micro as well as macromanagement (Quick clicking abilities and planning and anticipation). People who whine and complain are to me just short-tempered, lazy, unskilled players who don't see the point of the game. All they know is how to point and click, hope they hit their max with their 2H, and throw out insults to anyone who moves out of their confined space of thinking. Yes, people run from me all the time and others don't. I just take it in stride and fire blast them regardless of what they do : I run myself on occasion when I want to win against a particular person who has annoyed me ( ). Unless they start fire blasting me. Then I've got some other tricks up my sleeve. Wait, dragonhide doesn't have sleeves... I'm not saying you should all start running, and I'm not saying running is the best tactic out there, but what I am saying is that there's more than one way of winning the game other than getting 99 in all combat stats and clicking between armours and prayer and I think people should learn to accept it. Let the flaming begin [/hide]
  2. Well clearly after reading just a few pages of this thread the only way to not get banned or muted is to: 1. Not display any signs of humour. 2. Assume that everyone you're playing with is a prepubescent bubble kid, but hide that assumption the best you can. 3. Not create any names outside of "Good Citizen Man" or "John". 4. Make no references to real life whatsoever. 5. Essentially don't speak at all. 6. But speak enough to not get accused of macroing -.-
  3. Coolio thanks for the comment. I'll consider it in my upcoming revision

  5. Even though that might be the case, it certainly is easier to actually find the items if you have all sorted out by sensible categories. Maybe I'll post a bank screen
  6. Hmm I suppose I might just do that. I'll probably also show screens of me creating sets of armour and perhaps a few of my other techniques. Thanks
  7. I was considering that, but of what exactly?
  8. No promises, but I'm going to try and overhaul this guide. For the most part the F2P sections will stay as is, but there will be some new general banking advice. Examples My Bank [uBG EX-MB] Introduction A warm welcome to all Runescape F2Pers! The contents of this guide are primarily meant to help YOU! A little Introduction (It's a little long, so I'm hiding it for only the people who care to read it): [hide=Introduction]Ever since the earliest days of RS, when in fact there was no bank at all to store items, many players of Runescape have had a terribly difficult time deciding what items to keep with them and what others to sell, give away, or just drop. However, it wasn't too long before members was released (I see we have a few in the crowd now. Please, stick around). With the massive expansion of the world, number of skills, and total bank space, RS became much more enjoyable to those who could afford it. Today, the game as a whole has expanded immensely. Members now happily prance around the world with incredible weapons, practice their fancy skills, and yes, have tons of bank space. Sure, they've got much more to explore, much more to do, and many more ways of doing it, but while I've never been a member in my life, I have a feeling that members comfortably fit all of their prized possessions into 496 bank spaces.* But what of us, the humble F2P players? (Some of you members probably think otherwise with all the complaining we do for extra content  ) Ever since the release of members, our meager bank limit has barely grown. (In fact, I think the 8 spaces we got with the December updates might have been the only expansion we've ever gotten.) Runecrafting was added. Spiffy new outfits from random events. New items from Fist of Guthix. All quite significant additions to the number of items we might want to stash into our pretty banks along with everything else we need, and we only have 60 spaces to work with? Well to all of you still struggling to cram all of your stuff into your bank, look no further! This is guide will explore various techniques, options, considerations that you can take to help you better tolerate our tight space. *Thanks D Jay99![/hide] Who this Guide is For F2Pers!!! <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/eusa_dance.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D/' /> <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' /> But not quite exactly. This guide is specifically directed to those who would have the most problems with bank space; people who like to mage, range, and melee, who like to raise not just cooking and fishing, but mining, crafting, smithing and every other skill. Medium to high leveled players. People like me.This guide is also for those who don't immediately flame and say "omg u sux!!1 Eye alreddy gnu awl dat!" This is my first guide. Please bear with me. A Note on the Contents of This Guide Yes, I still want to blabber on before getting onto the actual guide. However, this section is a little more important. Like I said before, this guide will examine and utilize the various techniques, options, and considerations that I've observed and learned over the years that I've been playing RS. This guide will focus on two main concepts: Value and Convenience. When you think about it, that's what the bank is really for: to hold your items of value and have them ready for access with a relative amount of convenience. Many of the things I discuss will, in most cases, put the question onto you as to whether or not you want to have more items in your bank overall, or have a certain item readily available whenever you need it. Sacrifices will have to be made. If you were to follow my suggestions to a tee, you'd have quite a bit of space for different valuable items, but lose quite a lot of convenience in the process. It's up to you to make the decision as to whether or not you want to follow my advice. I don't even follow my own advice perfectly. Some of this stuff might be a lot easier to rationalize yourself, but some of it you might not have even heard of before. I'm sure a lot of older F2Pers know some of these methods, but this guide is meant to try and everyone F2P, new or old. For you Members While this guide is primarily more F2Pers, you might find that some of the stuff I talk about is helpful, perhaps saving you space, or helping you to organize your massive amounts of items. I'll try to make tips for members where I can from what I know from reading stuff on Tip.it, talking to my member-friends, and contributions from posters, but if you spot a mistake, please post or PM with a correction. Update: Thanks to a few of my friends and Sorator, I'm thinking of creating a P2P section. While you members probably have a ton of space anyway, this section will aim to organize your bank. This section will also aim to help members making the switch to F2P. If you have any suggestions, please post or PM me! Update 2: I'm going to be making a section that will help members ease themselves back into the tight F2P bank. Stay tuned! Update 3: Made the change. Now I'm putting together ideas for a P2P guide. Now onto the guide! Fundamental Items [uBG FA] There are certain things that almost every player should keep in their bank. Let's take a look: Coins "Lovely Money!" Your money is quite obviously going to permanently hold a place in your bank. It's what makes the world go round <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' /> Later on, I'll talk about how your cash could also potentially be a way of storing your items. Also, if you have any interest in Fist of Guthix or The Great Orb project at all, you'll probably want to reserve a spot for the tokens here too. Same goes for any other game tokens that members might accumulate. Rares Any super fantastic rares you got when they came out (Or you had the terrible urge to buy, tisk tisk) deserve a place in your bank. They're a status symbol and are just plain cool. I personally don't have any, but if I did, I'd keep em. Note: Remember rares are the holiday items you can trade, not stuff like the rubber chicken or snow globe. More on this later. 3-5 Empty Spaces "WHAT?!?! You're expecting me to have empty spaces in my bank??? You're crazy!" As I go along, a lot of the things I'll be talking about will properly justify this empty space. And if anything, this guide should help you to get those spaces anyway. I'll be referring to these spaces as a "buffer zone". About the Grand Exchange [uBG GE] While many players loathed and despised Jagex for releasing a volley of changes to the game to combat botters, gold-sellers, and although they didn't really say it, item scammers (There's no way you can lose out big in a trade now. No more of those pesky armour trimmers...), I welcomed many of the additions they made to the game to try and compensate for these changes.Fist of Guthix (really doesn't help with bank spaces, but it's fun <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' /> ), Grand Exchange, and of course, 8 more spaces. But the Grand Exchange of the greatest interest to me. It opened up so many options and things I could do. I'll talk more about this later. Combat [uBG COM] This section will talk about items associated with each branch of combat. Sections will give pictures of: Recommended items that I think should deserve a permanent place in your bank. I also generally show the best item (Rune armour opposed to adamant). If you can't afford/wear that item, then just substitute with the one you can. However, these are only suggestions and it's totally doable to not have some of these items depending on what you're doing. And Acceptable items are generally ones which I don't think are the best choice to keep in your bank, but there is some reasonable amount of justification. These can also be items that people generally don't keep in their bank, but I may myself and vice versa. Any items that I don't mention are in my opinion not even worth having permanently in your bank at all. If you disagree, post and try to prove me otherwise and I'll consider your point of view. I'll be structuring most of the sections to follow in a similar manner. Melee: [uBG C-MA] Armour Recommended: Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]You'll probably have a nice full set of a certain metal: Mithril, adamant, rune, or a trimmed version. For most, that will be 1 full helm, 1 plate body, 1 kite shield, as well as plate legs or a skirt. If you have a full set, you can put them into a set saving you some spaces. Read the following section about setting armour. Dragon hide can be good when fighting magic based enemies and the gauntlets are the best melee gloves available. As for the rune berserker, it is the best possible shield for F2P melee giving +1 defence to each category (Except magic) and +4 strength, but it only lasts 6 hours before you need to recharge it again. However, that little bit of extra strength may be enough to persuade you to get it. As it is not a kite shield, the rune berserker can NOT be combined into a set. [/hide] [hide=Setting Armour]The Grand Exchange allows for players to combine full sets of armour into little boxes. (Jagex in its right mind realized that it made sense to be able to trade full sets of armour instead of selling each piece one by one). By mentioning that, some of you probably already know where I'm getting at. While these armour sets are great for trading stuff on the GE, they also can be stored in the bank. For a full set of armour, you save nice 3 spaces. For dragon hide, it's 2 spaces. Setting Armour: First of all, go to the Grand Exchange and right-click on one of the Exchange Clerks and click on "Sets": Next, find the set that you want to convert to: Right-Click and Choose "Exchange": And there you have it, your armour has been put into a set! To change your armour from set into a usable form, just have the set in your inventory, go to the set choosing screen, right-click on the set in your inventory, and click Exchange. Of course, there main disadvantage here is that you'll always have to keep coming back to the Grand Exchange in Varrock if you want you use your kit. This method also only works for an exact kit of a full helm, platebody and legs, and a kite shield. If you want to have a chain mail or medium helmet or some other mix, then this technique won't work either. However, despite all this, I think it's well worth doing. Like I said, if you like ranging and melee, you can 'set' one type of armour while you train the other. You might also have a lower weaker metal for high risk things like bounty hunting. For you members, this might help you organize your bank a little. [/hide] Weapons Recommended: Acceptable: or [hide=Explanation]In the F2P world, it's a pretty widely accepted fact that the rune scimitar is the best weapon. Fast, high slash attack, decent damage; it's a killer. The scimitar is probably going to be one of the weapons in your bank, and quite frankly, it probably should be the only one. Daggers can't be poisoned, short swords and maces are weak. I also refuse to get into a debate about long swords vs scimitars. Sure, battle axes, war hammers, and 2-Handers (I particularly don't like 2Hs) hit pretty high and have a nice crush bonus, but they're terribly slow. At most, I'd have one other weapon type along with the scimitar to serve as a finisher weapon if you do any PKing. [/hide] Ranged: [uBG C-RA] Armour Recommended: Acceptable: or [hide=Explanation]As already mentioned with the melee section, you can just put your dragon hide body, chaps, and vambraces into a set. The lower leveled who can only afford studded armour are outta luck and have to buy trimmed or gilded versions. The green dragonhide coif only gives +2 ranged over the regular coif, but it also degrades after 6 hours. I personally don't bother with it and just buy a regular coif when I'm at the GE. More on this "buying at the GE" in the magic and cooking sections. [/hide] Weapons Recommended: Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]I actually don't keep a bow in my bank. They (long and short) go on the GE for less than 350 GP and I usually don't have spontaneous needs to go ranging (Except for Fist of Guthix, which is near Varrock anyway). Crossbows aren't very good in F2P. Your short bow and bronze arrows are about as cheap and give quicker experience anyway. As for arrows, I usually keep 3 types: Adamant for PKing, steel for quicker training, irons for cheap training (I usually kill minotaurs for these), but you might just opt for one type for Pking and one type for training. Or just one just for everything  Use your own judgment on this one. [/hide] Magic: [uBG C-MA] Recommended: [hide=Runes] [/hide] [hide=Staves] [/hide] [hide=Robes]1 Set of: or or [/hide] Acceptable: [hide=Runes] [/hide] [hide=Robes](Black robes give the same bonuses) [/hide] [hide=Explanation]Ooh boy. Magic can really strain the bank. 11 types of runes and you'll typically want to have all of them in your bank (Except maybe body runes, which can be bought right before training or BHing). I like to keep stuff like mind runes in my bank as well because they're a cheap and easy way of leveling your magic. As for cosmics, it's up to you. I like them because of the quick magic xp. You'll want all of the elementals because one of the greatest conveniences that magic brings is teleporting. Varrock needs fire, Lumbridge earth, and Falador water. All require air runes. As for a staff, I say air or fire. Air can autocast and supply runes for any missile spell and is used in teleporting. Fire is for alching and the strongest spells for each type of missile. You might want to keep them both in your bank until level 59, at which you should ditch your air staff. Black robes and the black wizard hat can be bought from the GE cheaper than a blue set. If you want blue, go crazy, but it's just cosmetic and I suggest you drop them or sell them back right away when you're done with your training/BHing/FoGing (lol). You might choose to have a full set of druidic or combat in your bank though and there's not much getting around the 3 spaces they take up. However, they provide the best F2P bonuses. I personally use runecrafter robes since they don't degrade and provide nice bonuses. The hat also has awesome goggles <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' /> [/hide] Grand Exchange Banking On a quick tangent, I'm going to talk about what I just demonstrated, something I like to call GE Banking (Or GEbbing <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' /> ) Basically, you take certain items that you don't need very often and sell them on the GE. This was what I was talking about with using your money to "store" items. When the time comes, you just buy it back, as long as you remember to not spend the money of course. WARNING!!! WARNING!!!! This method is VERY high risk. This method works best for items that are sold very often in high quantities and are relatively low in price. While I do this with things like bows and robes without too much difficulty, you could extend this to almost anything else, from ores (GEBank it now, smith it later) to armour, saving you quite a bit of space. There are many things that could go wrong. The item you want could drastically go up in price when you need it again. No one might be selling it when you want it. These are all things that could go wrong. Use this method at your own discretion. You have been warned. Variants Thanks to the suggestions of wormy and SirHemen, there are even more ways you can use the GE! GEBing Resources Let's say you want to go FMing, but you don't have enough space for the logs. Instead of withdrawing from your bank, you can use the GE! 1. Make an offer for your items 2. Collect your offers using "Collect as items" by right-clicking on your goods. Just make sure you have your tinderbox or whatever other implement you need and you're set. HOWEVER, the largest problem with this is that you have to be very careful, or you'll withdraw them all as notes and you'll have to resell and rebuy. Storage with Interest Another way to free up space is to pick a very stable GE item (Most basic runes, some arrows) and place them on max on the GE. Generally, people won't buy them since they can buy at min-mid anyway. When you need the items, simply cancel your offer. The risk with this method is if some large merchanting clan pushes the price of your item waaaay up. You've just sold all of your items and now they're worth more than before :( Food [uBG C-FO] Recommended: Cooked Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]I like to keep 3 types in my bank: High-Healing 1 clicks (swordfish), High-Healing multiple clicks (anchovy pizzas), and medium healing food (salmon). The applications for each type are of course for PKing, high-level training (Ice Giants), and quick training (Flesh Crawlers). Any more types are really pointless when you think about it. GEBanking is viable for food. [/hide] Amulets And Jewelery [uBG C-AJ] Recommended: Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]First of all, let's eliminate the 2 least valuable ones from consideration: Defence and Accuracy. The defence amulet only offers +1 def in each category over the power amulet, but has no attack, strength, or prayer bonus. The accuracy amulet gives 2 less than the power amulet, so really there's not much to consider there. For the final three, it really depends on what side of the triangle you use. If you mage at all, then the magic amulet it definitely worth it. Sure, it only gives +4 more magic attack, but runes are expensive and you want each one to count. Every person who does any fighting at all should have a power amulet. For archers, this is the only one worth keeping. As for strength, I personally don't like it. The extra +4 strength bonus increases my max hit by maybe 1. The power amulet on the other hand will give me an attack bonus as well, so I'll hit more often too. It's completely your call for the holy symbol. Protect prayers for a few extra seconds can save your life, but hitting the enemy harder and more accurately to begin with may outweigh that factor. They go on the GE for less than 200 gp. Many people seem to agree that having some sort of ring increases the value of monster drops somewhat. Whether or not this is true, why miss out? Currently, the Lumbridge Diary Ring is the best one you can get as it's the only one that does anything in F2P. Since you can get a replacement any time, never leave home without it :D This is why I don't recommend you put it into your bank. [/hide] Skills [uBG SKL] Cooking: [uBG S-CO] Recommended: Nothing! Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]There shouldn't really be anything in your bank related to cooking that you intend to keep a permanent space for. If you intend on training your cooking by buying raw food, making stuff like pizza, or fishing, this is where that buffer zone comes in. Like I said before, the buffer zone is 3-5 spaces in your bank that you should be keeping open as much as possible. What they are for are to temporarily hold items associated with certain skills which you don't intend holding in your bank for very long. In this case, I would set a goal for myself, maybe 200 pizzas. That means, 200 pizza bases, 200 tomatoes, 200 cheeses, and 200 anchovies, and then another space for uncooked incomplete pizzas. I don't know about you, but I tend to finish leveling up a skill to a desired point or finish making something before I go and do something else. After I'm done making pizzas, then I'll be back to 5 empty spaces again. You can do this with many many skills. The buffer zone is truly useful.Any item you might even want to consider keeping in your bank would be a chef's hat, but they're cheap on the GE and the only good thing about the Cook's Guild is the proximity of the wheat to a mill and the whole thing being near a bank.[/hide] Fishing: [uBG S-FI] Recommended: Nothing! Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]Again, not too much you should keep in your bank. For lobster pots and harpoons, the most viable option is Karamja, and Port Sarim is right has a fishing store so you can just pick one up right before you go to the island. You might want a space for your catches if you're a seller. Since I train with and sell swordies, I save another space that way. If you like the fast XP of fly-fishing, then you might have a bit more difficulty making the decision on whether or not to keep feathers and the rod in your bank. I personally just go out to Port Sarim and buy one every time I go to train fishing, but keep feathers in my bank. To save another space, you might want to consider killing chickens and collecting feathers or buying them just right before you go and fish. [/hide] Woodcutting: [uBG S-WC] Recommended: Acceptable: None [hide=Explanation]Your best axe is all you really need. As for you logs, if you're a big time cutter (You poor depressed person), then maybe a slot for logs, but I suggest on cutting only one type of tree at a time. Otherwise, sell all of your logs or burn them in between woodcutting stints. [/hide] Firemaking: [uBG S-FM] Recommended: Nothing! Acceptable: None [hide=Explanation]The logs you cut or buy should only take up a temporary space in your buffer zone. People usually just train this a bit and then go back to their other skills. You'd be crazy if you were seriously considering on keeping a tinderbox in your bank when you have general stores in every major city. [/hide] Prayer: [uBG S-PR] Recommended: Nothing! Acceptable: [hide=Explanation]I personally don't go and buy bones to train, but if you must, then they go into the buffer zone. Monk robes are nice, but when you really think about it, you probably won't be using them that often other than cosmetic reasons. You can always just pick up another set at the monastery anyway. Mages might want to consider this because regular skirts have no bonuses. Maces are really weak weapons. While they have crush attack and prayer bonus, in the long run a scimitar or battle axe will do much more damage. [/hide] Crafting: [uBG S-CR] Recommended: (Or the ore forms) Acceptable: Uncut gems [hide=Explanation]Another skill that can really fill up your bank. The main things here are the four different gems, cut and uncut, and gold and silver.First of all, if you can, raise your crafting level to at least 43. At this point, you can keep only the cut version in the bank. The chisel is probably the lowest valued item in my bank, in monetary terms. However with all the random events too happy to spring a gem on you and diamonds fetch about 3-4k on the GE, it's really worth keeping in your bank. As for any miners who stumble upon these pretty stones, I highly suggest that you keep them instead of dropping them, as I've seen even diamonds on the ground before. Sapphires are worth more than gold uncut and if you care about your crafting at all, it's good xp. Needles, thread, molds, and the like can all be bought from crafting shops like the one in Al-Kharid so you shouldn't need to have them in your bank. [/hide] Mining/Smithing: [uBG S-MS] Recommended: Acceptable: None [hide=Explanation]Obviously, you'll want to keep your best pick axe in here. If you're not much of a smither, then the ores you mine for money should go in the buffer zone. As for ores to smith (There seem to be very few smiths these days...), just keep the ores you intend to smith and train with. Bars and smithed items before sale/alchemization go in the buffer zone. [/hide] Runecrafting: [uBG S-RC] Recommended: Nothing! Accepted: Tiaras, talismans [hide=Explanation]I suggest you only keep talisman/tiara for the rune you're actually crafting for training. F2Pers don't get much of a choice of runes to craft, you'll probably be mainly training this skill anyway. Just buy the talisman/tiara as your rune needs arise. While I prefer to just buy my tiaras off the GE (They're under 100 GP for any of them), you also have the option of using the silver in your bank you might keep for crafting and use that instead to make tiaras. As for the rune crafting outfit for The Great Orb Project, you could toss out your wizard hat/robe in favour of this set. Yes it's two more spaces, but it's much better. [/hide] Other Items [uBG ITE] Random Event Items: [uBG I-RE] I have a Love-Hate relationship with these things. I really like how the Forester Hat matches when doing well...foresty type stuff like fishing, woodcutting, firemaking, and especially ranging. Full zombie and mime looks cool too. Again, you're going to have to make a sacrifice. Since you have wait for the next time the random event comes along to get a part of the costume back, this decision can be tough. I have a tiny solution for the mime set. The mime bottom looks like black plain bottoms if you go to Thessalia. Yes, quite costly, but it saves bank space and chances are there are only certain times you'll want to wear it (Halloween?) Holiday Items: [uBG I-HI] All of the recoverable holiday items from Diango should not hold a place in your bank. I missed the marionettes, hats, and scarves :wall: This link from Tip.it will give you a good idea of what items you can retrieve from Diango. (Thanks Pinkbullet!) Quest Related Items Items: [uBG I-QR] Any quest items that the Old Man in Draynor tells you can go should also leave. Mid/High leveled players shouldn't have a need for silverlight against lesser demons since rune is stronger against them and it's widely believed that you get worse items for using it. The only justification I could possible see is if you wanted a cheap alternative or wanted not run the risk of losing a rune weapon, but if that's the case, you probably shouldn't be killing lessers anyway. I personally think that the sword from the Knight's Sword quest doesn't all that great and the stats are pretty low. General and Specialty Stores [uBG I-GS] Having talked about all the skills, items like hammers, thread, needles, tinderboxes, and stuff like that can all be bought for very few gps at a general store or a specialty store. Finally, any items that are are solely for cosmetic reasons (Different capes, pink skirt, coloured gloves) should come under heavy scrutiny as to whether or not you really need it. Members Going F2P [uBG MEM] Premise - You've finally gotten a month or two of membership! Oh the glorious quests! The minigames! The new dungeons and cities! The items! The BANK SPACE!!! It's all so overwhelming and you don't want it to stop, but now it's coming to an end for one reason or another and you're going to be joining the rest of us back in 68 bank slot land. You've got to take a break from membership before you can go back again. The Situation - You've gone a little overboard with the items. You have everything in your bank from abyssal whips to Zamorakian spears. There's no way you can shrink your bank to under 68 items in time. What do you do? What To Do! - As many of you probably know, one of the great tricks you can do with an obscenely large bank is to get duplicates of common F2P items and use them as "placeholders". Now I won't claim this as my own idea; this concept has been out for a while now. This method of using placeholders was first put into guide form by shade_bandyt (The guide can be found here). I originally planned to give a comprehensive list myself and give some other notes, but once I found shade's guide, I had to abandon it. shade, You've done an awesome job and I don't want to take away from it! Refer to shade_bandyt's guide for the majority of the information on placeholding. Also, cross reference his list of items with all of the items in my guide (Recommended as well as acceptable) I will also offer some words of advice of my own. Duplicates It's worthwhile to get more than 2 of a particular item to act as a placeholder. The most expensive items in F2P are (aside from rares of course) pieces of rune armour and weapons and even then they cap out at around 60K. Things like hammers, tinderboxes, and other general store items can be bought cheaply. They're useful tools and the extra 10 GP gives a better sense of security. (I recently withdrew my second power ammy from my bank. D'oh! #-o Limitations of this Method While this proves to be a godsend for pretty much any member, there are its drawbacks. People who are interested in getting members mainly to get some placeholders should be wary of this shortcoming. It might be better simply to just follow my guide Items which cannot be duplicated or difficult to replace can now never be withdrawn. How many blue party hats do you have? While shade's guide offers some ways to duplicate certain items, items like super expensive rares will have to stay in your bank  My Bank [uBG EX-MB] In all of it's F2P glory: Page 2: Analysis and Organization: [hide=]First Section: I have my money and tokens here, two of the fundamental items. Should I ever happen to need a crossbow, I have a couple of the weapon store keys (I bought them off my friends when they were done the quest . Plus, I like keys <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' />). My axe and pick axe I like to keep in the first section because they're items that if I were to use, I would only have use for just them at the time. (I don't need much else to go mining or woodcutting). I use my power amulet and holy symbol often, so I like to keep them easily accessible. Tab 1: This is where all my magic related stuff goes. All runes, robes, and the magic amulet, as well as runecrafting supplies. I currently have my fire staff equipped. Tab 2, Line 1: My ranged and melee tab. I have my sets of dragon hide, my rune gauntlets, battle axe, arrows, 2 types of food, and strength potions. Tab 2, Line 2: My precious rune scimitar and full rune  Tab 3: This is where the stuff related to my skills go. As you can see, I have all cut gems, a few ores, steel bars, some silver, and feathers. Note how I have 2 chisels. Since I use it so often, I keep one to hold the slot so I don't have to keep rearranging my bank. Also, chisels to me are a hallmark sign of skills. Tab 4: Random Event items! They take up so much space...why can't you take them, Diango? As you can see, I have eight spaces left over. You probably also noticed that I took a lot of liberties in following my own suggestions. Items like the holy symbol, mithril ore, fire and water talismans, and mage robes I could probably do without. There are also a few items that I could use in my bank, such as a fly fishing rod, anchovy pizzas, or a bow. But at this very moment, I actually need a buffer zone of 7 items for what I'm currently doing. Your bank is flexible and you can adapt it to suit your needs. And as you can see, those items I just listed a mostly a matter of convenience in having them in my bank. I could rework my bank after I'm done with my current tasks.[/hide] Conclusion The bank is one of the most important aspects of playing RS. Holding your most valued items in a convenient and safe spot, it can be tough to pick and choose which items you want to keep and what items you'll begrudgingly have to set aside. Hopefully my guide has helped with some of these considerations and slimmed down that bank. I'll be tweaking this guide soon for small errors and what not and perhaps revise a few sections. Please post or PM your suggestions and comments. I hope you enjoyed my guide -Sinkhan Credits for those not already mentioned in guide: All those who continue to visit my guide and support me The Tip.it team for an awesome website and for most of the images in the guide Jagex for neglecting F2Pers' banks and giving me a reason to write this guide  And for creating this game <img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_upup.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':<img src='http://forum.tip.it/ipbnew/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/happy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />:' />
  9. You could also look at it this way if you were just RCing by yourself: At Draynor, telly to cabbage. Walk to altar and craft. Telly again and walk back to Draynor. This also doesn't require any law runes to telly to Falador.
  10. His name justifies his post  Anyway, I'm 56 pray, all done in F2P, and I say just don't think about it. Just carry on with your affairs without actually thinking about trying to raise your prayer level. Whenever you see a bone, bury it, but don't get totally engrossed with trying to raise it as quickly possible.
  11. Plus, use common sense and you won't need half of these programs. That means no P2P programs like Limewire and such :shame: It's from file sharing that most spyware and viruses come from. Also, don't be surfing up porn sites or illegal software hack sites. Remember common sense! Common sense, combined with Firefox will make you almost invincible.
  12. There's this one AMD processor on http://www.newegg.com that's only $76(sorry, don't remember name), but it's clocked at 2.0Ghz, making it better than the entire computer combined. :D Get a suitable motherboard, 512 RAM, and you'll be fine.
  13. Here are a few more choices for you to pick when it comes to free (and a few pay to use) security applications followed by some tips at the end: Antivirus 1. Grisoft's AVG Boasting the highest level of popularity amongst all freeware antivirus applications, AVG has a good feature set, including e-mail scanner and active guard, combined with its long history of acceptable detection and removal making this program a valuable asset to your computer. It has one of the most flexible scanning options, allowing you to choose each individual folder, and its update process is quite indepth. However, the detection and removal rates of this application are somewhat subpar compared to its competitors. This program also is quite user-friendly and best for beginner computer novices. 2. Awil's avast! Although this program is less popular than AVG, this program proves to quite more effective. Packing a better scanning engine that allows it to detect and remove malware with greater proficiency, avast! is a better program than AVG if you're looking for more raw virus removing power instead of overall presentation. Although AVG's Control Center is slightly better than avast!'s On-Access scanner screen, avast! looks very slick, similar to a media player with a play button to start a scan, pause to pause, and stop to, well, stop. A better program than AVG in many aspects, but not a beginner's program. 3. Avira's AntiVir Probably the best free program available, this program is still almost virtually unknown to many people. This program packs the biggest punch to malware. With the highest detection and removal rates of any other free antivirus program, AntiVir is downright the best program to use to defend your computer from viruses, trojans, and worms. Its active guard is also one of the most powerful, rivalling larger companies like McAffee. The update process is very smooth and the interface is not bad. The downsides to this program is that some of the features might take a bit more of an advanced user to make good use of them. Very good app and best amongst the freeware world. And if you have a little bit of money in your wallet, go for Eset's NOD32. Antispyware 1. Ad-Aware The most popular and the best, Ad-Aware is pretty much king in the freeware world. Fast scanning, attractive interface, good detection and removal. What more could you ask. Free? Yes, it's that too. 2. Safer Networking's Spybot A great program with an excellent active guard against spyware (known as the TeaTimer). The one downside it that the detection and removal rates are quite poor. 3. Microsoft Defender GIANT antispyware was once a magnificent company that made exceptional antispyware software. Then came along Microsoft and bought it out. Now the program is well...let's just say Microsoft's "touch" has made it...different. Still, the basic workings of the original program are still present, still allowing the program to be one the best freeware applications available to the public for free. And if you have some money in your pocket, SpySweeper and Spyware Doctor are unparalelled. However, there are no set standards for antispyware applications as there are for antiviruses like WestLabs and VB. That means that even a good program like Ad-Aware doesn't catch a whole lot of spyware. You'll need the three free one's I mentioned, or 1 paid and 1 free. Hope that helps. If you need more information or more applications, PM me.
  14. First of all, does anyone know if those new prayers are f2p or not? And as for a good spot, I actually like the crowded lvl12 minotaur chamber in the Stronghold of Security. Mid to even high level people are almost always there picking off all the minotaurs trying to get the skull piece and since minotaurs have ridiculously low health and there's so many of them; it's like a bone fest. Plus, you can sometimes pick up a few iron arrows and rune essence if you really want them and there's almost no danger because your not in the wild.
  15. Get Spybot: SD to try and find anything that MS Defender and Ad-Aware might not have found, get ewido to get Trojans and Worms, get Root-Kit Revealer to find out if you have a rootkit, get Registry Mechanic and Tweaknow Registry Cleaner to fix up your registry, and then get CCleaner to wipe away some of the mess on your PC. And consider AntiVir Classic PersonalEdition (Free) as an antivirus program. It has slightly better detection rates.
  16. Well then again, some keyloggers have the ability to take screenshots everytime input is made and that includes clicking. Maybe a combination of the two, pass then main page "PIN"
  17. Ranged Suggestion: Collected Shot Drop Description: Arrows, bolts, knives, and every other ranged item will be dropped where the monster dies and will only appear when the monster is dead. If you are not the one who gets the monster's drop (ex:someone else inflicts more damage in a multi-combat zone), you still get your ranged items, but only when the monster is dead. Reason and Justifications: 1. Realism If you're firing a pointy arrow from a fully drawn back, highy tensioned bow, do you think your arrows would fall to the ground? Or maybe when you take a knife and whip it at someone? Naturally, the item will stay there. Then when the monster dies, you can retrieve your items in a simple step. Plus, if the monster moves around like moving towards you, the same thing will apply. 2. Simpler Collection of Arrows/Items If all the items are all bundled together in a bunch, you won't have to be running around to different spots to collect each one. Although any scavengers will have an easier task, to get more arrows, it's not much different from you being behind a fence and ranging say...cows. The person will just have to dash around a bit more. And to any Jagex peoples reading... PLEASE MAKE F2P Prayer Suggestion: Special Area Burying Bonuses Description: Whenever bones are buried in certain places (Example: The Lumbridge Cemetary, Wilderness Graveyard) there will be a certain bonus added. (Maybe like x2 or even x2.5) In addition, at the side of every altar building, there would be a mini cemetary to bury bones for the bonus) Reasons and Justification: 1. Makes sense Sure, by burying bones, you're being respectful to the gods and laying that goblin, giant, or dragon to rest and getting experience. But wouldn't it make sense if you received a little bit more if you did it in an even more dignifying cemetary which is specifically zoned for bones and graves? 2. Slightly more convient for P2Pers and easier for F2Pers to raise prayer Prayer has seen little change in p2p with the exception of altars in p2p houses and almost none in f2p, so it's still painstakingly difficult to raise your prayer level. This change would make a slight increase in prayer levelers and certainly make it easier on f2pers. Say a person is training on dragons, but doesn't usually use their prayer because they'll have to recharge it at an altar. With the change, they would be more encouraged to use prayer and then with the bones, if they don't want to sell, ecto, or altar them, then they can recharge and get a little bit more xp. And like a said before, this would make raising prayer MUCH easier for f2pers. And also to Jagex peoples PLEASE ALSO MAKE F2P! Thank you and that is all.
  18. I'd like to see Pest Control...or maybe a downsized version with fewer awards, but still opprotunities to raise some skills like prayer :D
  19. Now let's see how many of you can fill a yottabyte drive :XD: (1,000,000,000,000,000 GBs )
  20. Try out Trend Micro's Housecall. It's a free online antivirus service that will run in your browser and detect and remove viruses. Get Windows Defender and Ad-Aware for anti-spyware. As for those two viruses, I think they have a few components to them that allows them to restore any parts that you remove. Look the two viruses up on the Symantec website or go to http://www.computerhope.com and check out the forums there. They're devoted to helping out people in need. Just post all the information like you did here and I'm almost sure they'll help you fix your computer up.
  21. And so that sets the next question, could anyone fill a 1 YB drive if it ever comes out? :XD:
  22. unless of course you face the only lvl 126 F2Per. He'd kill you with the difference that prayer makes.
  23. HTML-Kit (can be found on download.com, but when you find it there, go to the publisher's main website) is a good program. I haven't done much with it, but I'm pretty sure it has a WYSIWYG area similar to Dreamweaver. Free program.
  24. Well most of my friends say that if you have a weak vid card, Age III won't look that nice. Besides, I still have to play BF1942 and MoH. Anyone know about the prices for the x1800?
  25. But are they affordable? I saw the x1900 for $400 CDN... Sure it's the newer card, but I'm assuming the x1800 or x1600 can't be much cheaper.
