The Ultimate Guide to F2P Banking **Updated July 10th**
I need a few more people who've been helped by my guide for bank screens or testimonies. Please PM or post!

What to do in F2P?
BH is always something to do. That agility should help.
-
good money makers?
Even though this is just me and I'm not even a member, but I suggest you raise your agility. Pretty much every single thing, be it combat or raising skills, requires running. Aren't there a bunch of P2P quests that raise agility?

PKing Tips?
How about actual ranging tips? Advice on different bows, arrow types, hit and run tactics, etc. Is the Lumbridge ring allowed in BH? Because that extra 150 energy could come in handy in wearing down an armored opponent while I use d-hide. Once they have 0 energy and can run no longer, I'll be able to keep my distance and range all day long ^_^

PK TIPS
Use the Tip.it combat calculator and max out your mage and ranged levels. There's no reason not to since they don't affect your level if you're combat based. Mage is especially useful since there's that nice passive 70% defence bonus against other people using magic.

Training Range in F2P
I'm training at the Blk Knight Fortress. On the second floor with an altar, there's 2 blk knights in an adjacent room. Just pop on protect from melee and range away, no food req'd. If you've got 44 pray, that makes for a nifty +15% boost to your ranged, which improves accuracy and most of the time boosts your max hit by 1. They've got decent drops. Laws, steel bars, cosmics, gems, and the odd death rune or mith arrow.

What is that good about Linux?
"How compatible are games with it [Linux]?" Short Answer: Very Incompatible Longer Answer With a Question: What games are you intending to run? Most of the larger mainstream games like Crysis, Half-Life 2 and other Source-based games, etc tend to not bother with making their games compatible with Linux. Longer Answer which branches off of the previous one: However, it's not like Linux is entirely without games. Where Micro$oft and pretty much everything that's developed for it is pretty much giant corporate money-making gnarly machine, Linux is the awesome, fun-loving, laid-back, fuzzy and cute edged open-source project that's ushered on and developed by a large generous community (The logo for Linux is Tux, the awesome penguin. The Windows logo is...well...a window  ) In the same spirit as the people who develop the kernel, people also makes games for Linux, although not as visually-wowing. And as already mentioned, there are a few programs which emulate Windows on Linux, but they only go so far.

Should I Be Worried
Gnutella is a protocol? I'd personally ditch AVG. At one time or another, AVG was a very strong AV option, but has since fallen back in terms of performance. Go with AntiVir instead. Check out AV-Comparatives for comprehensive 3rd party tests of AV programs. AntiVir is free and is the cream of the crop, surpassing giants like Norton grossly beating programs like AVG and avast! I had AVG 7.0 from it's release and then upgraded to 7.5 when it came out, so for about 6 years (I went the years before that protection free, yikes!) When I made the switch to avast!, it found an additional 2 viruses. When I found out about AntiVir and tried it out, it found 12 viruses, all with creation dates during the period I was using AVG and avast!, suggesting that these were viruses that the other two programs missed. And your sister seems to have contracted another virus, the now very-common, epidemic-level "Pre-teen fan of terrible pop music" disease. Sadly, not even AntiVir can treat this infection

When does the Grand Exchange update its prices?
In support of the "Game day" point, the Lumbridge ring also recharges at 1 GMT.

PKing Tips?
So does any one have any tips on what to do when I'm actually fighting? Anything special I should keep in mind?

Help with F2P Range training!!
On the second level of the Black Knight Fortress, there's an altar and a room adjacent to it with 2 blk knights. If you've got 43 pray, you can pop it on and attack them all day long, no food required. If you've got lvl 44 pray, you can boost your ranged with eagle eye, giving you a pretty 15% bonus to your ranged.

Money? Or EXP?
Going to Greese, eh? I'm interested as to where that is. Anyway, I'd definitely go for money. When you're killing roaches it's not like you're not getting XP at all, you're just getting slightly less, but you're getting a ton more money. Money makes the world go round

PKing Tips?
Ok, so enough about stats, what about actual tactics? I'm thinking of going range tank and raising my magic really high just for the magic defence bonus (afterall, the Tip.it calculator shows me that I can raise my range and magic to like lvl 90 before they actually increase my level)

PKing Tips?
CB Stats: Atk: 67 Str: 71 Def: 60 Ranged: 61 Magic: 64 Pray: 56 HP: 70 CB Level: 84 F2P Anyone got any PKing tips? My friend challenged me to a friendly duel with no armour. He has 52 atk, 78 str and is pretty much a pure (level 70). We had one match where I used protect from melee and that held me out for a good amount of time and I ended up winning. However, the next match we only used food and regular prayers and he smashed me. I've never really done any PKing at all even when the old wildy was around and really just play FoG for PVP goodness. He's a solid bounty hunter and does this for all of his cash. What's really got me concerned is how often he managed to hit me. I used curse spells to lower his strength and attack, but he still managed to land hard blows with his scim and a few with his 2H. If my defence is 60 and his attack 52, how did he land so many hits? Is defence really that useless? So anyway, any tips for duels, bounty hunting, and when the new "wildy" makes its return?

Build me a computer
Like I said, SSDs are beginning to come . They're the absolute best when you want to quickly load a game. They've already gone down immensely in price (A saw 64GB one for $1000 about 6 months ago, now it's less than $300) and they're going to plummet more. In 5 years, they'll probably be standardized.

Build me a computer
Can ATI even hold a candle against nVidia, halo2? Even now, the second edition of the nVidia 8800GT, 512mb is definitely one of the best valued cards out there and is more than capable of running Crysis on Vista. It costs less than $200 everywhere I check, even the crazy OCed versions. I'd suggest another card, but I've been out of the video card loop lately and the second version of nVidia's 8 series is about the latest I know. Apparently nVidia churned out the 200 series recently and they're supposed to be beasts. Sure, 750 W seems like a lot, but halo2, NOTHING in the computer world is "future proof". It may stand up for a little longer, but not for very long. Depending on what you want twiley, a 500GB drive might not suffice. 750GB and up. SSDs (basically huge SD cards) are starting to become fashionable ^_^ For a cooling system, just pick any decent HSF that's compatible, maybe even the one that halo2 suggested. Liquid would be quieter, and the Thermaltake V1 would be super-coolio awesome, but take up a lot of space

What is that good about Linux?
Linux is not Windows Therefore, good  Each distribution of Linux (Linux is really just an OS kernel) really just differs in the software bundled, the different desktops (GNOME or KDE usually), and maybe a few minor other features. Technically, you could sell distributions (Like Lindows/now Linspire) Lol) since the GPL doesn't say anything against it, just as long as you don't restrict other people from accessing the code. It's just that most distros are free and if you charge anything, people will be reluctant to use it  The largest drawback is probably lack of compatibility with most of the stuff out there. But with the exception of games, you'll find good substitutes for almost anything. OpenOffice.org is an excellent example of a Linux compatible office suite. Also free. You'll also have very few threats of viruses: A) If you make a virus to infect every single computer out there running Linux, you're only infecting less than 5% of the entire net. B) Since the code is open source, an army of hungry programmers looking for problems to fix will take any virus and most likely, rewrite the the part of the kernel to fix it.

How to record RS on your PC WITHOUT a watermark! FREE!
Wait, VDub also acts as a screen capture utility?

Close please
I would suggest against backing anything up from the current drive. If it's incredibly riddled with malware, chances are that the second that you copy over the old files onto the formatted drive, you'll end up in the same spot. I've known of viruses that are so resilient that they can come back after a full reformat. So to be sure, Guttman it up or just buy a new HD.

F2P Crafting?
No...you would mine 27 clay, fill up a jug and add water to clay 27 times, spin, and then fire... I don't see why people always miss that you can refill a jug more than once and it can be used again and again per trip  I raised my crafting quite a bit this way and I averaged about 3-4 mins per load, each yielding about 890 XP. That's about 13-17.5K XP per hour. Completely free No loss of money whatsoever. Beyond level 15-20 crafting, bowls never crack. As for sapphire necklaces, let's look at the cheapest possible way of doing it. Mine up each sapphire (I don't need to tell anyone how long this would take) Mine up all gold (Medium amount of time) Cut each sapphire (Fairly quick) Smelt 14 gold into bars (Fairly Quick) Make necklaces (Fairly Quick) Alch (Fairly Quick) So yes, aside from actually acquiring the materials, this would be rather quick. However, if you decided to buy the sapphires, cut or uncut, buy the gold, bars or ore, along with the natures to actually alch the necklace, you would be in deficit. Realistically speaking, you would probably buy the sapphires. Currently, cut ones are about 300. Gold bars are 225ish. Add in a nat and you're at about 750, 110 over the high alch of a necklace. Mining a full load of inventory of gold with no competition at the guild or any other F2P site would take at least 4 mins, not including the bank run. And that's if your mining level is relatively decent (70+) and of course, no competition. Making bowls is undoubtedly the best way for crafting XP if you don't want to spend any money.

F2P Crafting?
Make bowls at the crafting guild. Best way in F2P. I'm making a super comprehensive mini-guide soon. Think about it. Clay mines ridiculous fast and there's almost no competition. No bank runs. Since you mine it, add water, spin, and fire all at the guild, there's a very very small amount of walking time. (Like 10 tiles between each station...) 33 XP per bowl. And it's entirely free. Hard leather bodies require you to buy thread and tan the hides. If you buy the hides, you make no profit at all. If you kill the cows yourself, it takes a really long time.

Money making guide and more to come!
Hmm...this gives me an idea for a new F2P guide... :-k
