  1. They definitely are. In a good game, you can get upwards of 12 tokens, already about 1/6 of what you need. Realistically, it'll take about 8-10 games, each taking about 10-15 mins MAX, on average about 8 for me actually. It depends on your combat level and skill at the game. Now, you essentially have to craft double the number of essence to gain the amount of XP. 1000 runes take about 37 runs to craft. That's about an extra 37 mins to actually craft them. Ok, so that still gives gloveless crafters 50 mins over the gloves. However, you have to factor in the money or time you had to spend on buying/mining the extra 1000 essence. So that's about an extra 45K, or 45ish mins. Depending on how high your RC level is, you'll probably end up losing quite a bit of money or gaining very little if you sell the runes after buying them. On top of that, FoG is fun and offers good mage XP ^_^

Why not using the barricade just outside the fortress instead? They don't drift of far and you can collect the drops, if you want. And consider the Fortress guards which are just a few squares away... Or go inside and use the altar for protect from melee/eagle eye and fight the two knights in there  Too bad your pray is too low.
  3. I'd have to say I disagree with a great deal of this guide.
  4. I think you might be able to get quite a few runners even at 77.
  5. Zombies in SoS. They drop steel arrows :
  6. 1. If you had a decent prayer level, I'd actually suggest full rune and use protect from mage. The armour should give a good def against melee and ranged attacks while prayer will completely cover mage attacks. Then it's just slashing away with your best wep. 2. Rune mining or skilled merchanting. 3. Greater demons. Check out the Tip.it bestiary. 4. Depends on how you kill it.
  7. For F2P, I'd suggest perhaps city guards or maybe black knights at the blk knight fortress if you have 43 prayer. Zombies in SoS or mossies on Crandor are also options. And of course, use full d'hide, maple short, and addy arrows for maximum efficiency. As for mage, alch stuff all the way. This guide will probably be of much help. If you want to raise HP while you're at it, go and fire blast some stuff, probably white or black knights.
  8. Hmm...noted stuff is always good : Maybe I'll try em.
  9. But do they drop them often? BTW Inuashakent, F2P. I'll try hogobs though.
  10. Anyone know of any F2P monster that drops them relatively often? I've had some success with mossies, but not too sure about any other monster.
  11. I think he means in high alching, you get some money back :-k
  12. If you're smelting yourself, quite a bit slower seeing as you'll fail 50% of the time, not to mention that each bar itself will give less XP. Steel plates are one of the top methods, but depending on what you buy or collect yourself will determine how much you gain/lose. I haven't tried mith bars, but it sounds viable.
  13. In many cases, +4 str is not enough to boost your max hit and does a negligible amount to boost overall hits. That's why I prefer the power over the strength amulet in pretty much any case. I was also just going along with the last two posts downplaying the feasibility of the zerker, not disagreeing with the fact that it provides the best bonuses.
  14. And it only gives +1 def in each category and +4 str over a rune kite
  15. Black Knight's Fortress. Get some monk robes, top and bottom, a power ammy, and your best wep (Rune scim, rune long, b ax) and find the room with an altar on the second floor. There's a room right beside it with two black knights. Just pop on protect from melee, the two prayers that boost +15% strength and attack, and kill em all day long. No food required and you'll be hitting 15% harder and 15% more often. If you die, you don't lose anything valuable
  16. Updated! Table of Contents and Search Codes! New Sections!
  17. Honestly, I've never seen mithril arrows being dropped by catablepons, but I'll take your word for it. Anyway, I think I'll just stick to black knights for the time being. BTW slay, it's the room right next to the altar. It might just seem slow because there's no one to talk to in there >.>
  18. You're already using an awesome method. No other place has decent monsters to train on with the safety of full prayer. Safe spots can be unwieldy and the monsters involved almost always are crowded. You require no food from protect from melee and I'll assume you have 44 prayer, which means you'll essentially have a 76 ranged level with eagle eye, improving your max hit and accuracy immensely. Black knights have deaths, mithril arrows, laws, steel bars, cosmics, and aren't too far away from the edgeville bank. This is one of the least used, but still great, training spots in all of RS. You will seldom see anyone else training there. You won't need any food at all. You'll be doing lots of damage and doing it often. You'll get not the best drops, but some pretty decent ones. You'll have virtually no competition. Stick to it mate, you're already training incredibly efficiently.
  19. And you should READ THE TITLE. It clearly says barbarian village fishing. Otherwise, that's about average for fish, but I suppose on the lower side. You are fly fishing right? Using feathers and not bait? Salmon/trout and not pike? But in any other case, what you're doing should be the most efficient F2P fishing method.
  20. Good idea :D I'm going to have to do some of this myself. Just as long as they still sell quickly
  21. Well seeing as Jagex has very little reason to give us much stuff like a new crazy high leveled monster, don't get your hopes up. Roach soldiers are the strongest thing to kill in non-wildy, and probably your best bet if looking for drops, greater demons is wildy, but...that's wildy.
  22. I'm not sure it's hard to say. It depends on your level of course, but I get about 3-5K per 10 mins, which translates to 18-30K XP per hour. Remember no food req'd and they've got half decent drops (Deaths, steel bars, laws, mith arrows)
  23. Plus the altar on the second level lets me have protect from melee and eagle eye pretty much indefinitely while I train ^_^. Eagle eye essentially adds 10 levels to my ranged. OMG!!!!! you just made my day... i didnt know about the altar there, and im training ranged too... guess where im gonna go range now  Yessur. There's a room right next to the altar with 2 blk knights. As soon as you open the door, they auto-attack you regardless of level. Only annoyance might be random people doing the quest, but it's usually not many, or the odd other person training there (From 46-66 ranged, I've seen 2 other people training at my spot). Maybe I'll make a guide :-k

  25. Well I was considering since I was training anyway, I'd find a monster that would drop something I need: arrows. Ankous have never dropped addys for me.
