  1. This is hoping Jagex will still exist: Slow decline, keeping a few more servers, make the entire game f2p (or still p2p to get some extra money for the servers), no more upgrading and make the code of the game public.
  2. I voted for them anyways, though I don't always agree with Jagex, certainly not over the past few months. I just hope they do something fun this year if they win. I don't think they did something last year. And they should say: "This update is members-only, become a member now and vote for us!"
  3. She's out of my league. Regular love-movie. But not bad to watch, pretty fun. I find the whole number-thing funny.
  4. Locking this due to getting off-topic. Feel free to create a new thread, if you want, hoping it won't get off-topic. As for our max hit calculator, this is the little history I've heared about it: The very first was made by Silverion himself who collected the data himself and "perfected" it with information from the staff. That's many, many years ago (RSC) together with the combat calc, I think. The current one is mainly based on user input.
  5. To the ones who like Slayer because it's a money-maker: I wonder if Slayer really is a money-maker. You train Slayer by training Attack, Strength, Defense, Ranged, Magic and/or Constitution. So in what way is Slayer the money-maker? Aren't Attack or Ranged the money-makers? Sure, you can't kill Abyssal Demons without 85 Slayer, but for many, I think whip-drops are just a fraction of what they earn trough their Slayer-training. You can earn the same money or even more by camping somewhere or killing 300 of one monster and then go on to the next. I think Slayer doesn't earn that much money, you have the ability to kill monsters such as Abyssal Demons and you can kill a bit faster because of items such as Black Mask, but I think the main reason to like Slayer is that it bring more variaty when training your combat level. Personally, I like Fishing. You don't have to pay attention all the time. I can train it while browsing the forums or while watching a movie. And it earns a little money.
  6. We usually don't lock threads anymore. Everyone should still be able to ask a question, even if you aren't the OP. Other people should aslo still be able to share their knowledge with everyone, you never know that there might be some extra golden information. But since the title and post have been changed, this thread serves no further purpose and to ease the OP, I'll lock it anyways.
  7. This. Will this mean people with a low defense will have more 1s instead of 0? Not that it should be that big of a deal, seeing how the old 1 is now a 10. No idea when this will come out and how it will look like overall. I'm not that interested in it, to be honest. I'm sure it'll prove handy in several occasions such as group fighting or pking. But for the regular solo-training, I hope it has a toggle-option.
  8. Good luck, Demoliboy! Now you just need to learn to draw those funny cartoons :P

Within Belgium, there's a student discount which is pretty cheap, like insert_name_here said. But outside Belgium, it's pretty expensive imo, unless there are special offers from Thallys which travels directly to France, the Netherlands, no idea if it goes to Germany aswell. If you use the Belgium railway, NMBS, it's expensive. I once checked for the Netherlands and I think it was like €60 and several hours travel. It was cheaper and faster by car. Thallys or IC (InterCity) is better for that, prices depend on time and such, so check in time for cheap offers. Thallys is also pretty cheap around the holidays, I think.

Seeing how perhaps a majority doesn't pass their exams from the first try, they have second try in august/september, so it's logical it's filled the entire year. What will you be studying? And I guess you're not on the campus. Do you have to cook your own food? The food in Belgium isn't bad. If you decide to try the fries, don't go to a McDonalds. Locals are the best and every tastes different. So change from time to time :) Enjoy the Belgium beers. Good with the fries, I guess. Personally, I'm not that big a fan of them. For some, you have to learn to appreciate them. You have 12 months. Overall, I don't think going to school in Belgium or elsewhere is that much different. You'll be teached in Dutch, I guess. Though, many books I need are in English (for me atleast). Perhaps the biggest difference between Belgium and perhaps the US is the distance from home. In the US, I think almost everyone lives at the campus because home is very far away. Belgium's a small country with quite a lot of schools for its size, meaning many students go home after school.

Have fun in Leuven, I'd say. Though Ghent is the party-city. I think. Will you be renting something there in the neighboorhood or on the campus? I think they'll threat you well, you're an exchange student afterall.
  12. Kick-Ass: I liked it quite a lot. Superbad: Better than The Hangover imo. Terminator Salvations: Pretty confusing. Not exactly what I expected. Dumb and Dumber: Classic. Team America: World Police: Seperate kind of humour, but still amazing! To be expected from the South Park creators. Did anyone see Juno? Is it good?
  13. I'm watching Gundam SEED right now. I'm at episode 37 of season one at the moment. I've only seen Gundam Wing and Gundam 00 before this. I must say that SEED is a lot different than those two (then again, 00 is based on Wing. Though they aren't that similar imo). It's a lot more emotion-based than 00 and Wing and they show a little more violence (I don't think I've seen a decapitation in 00 or Wing). Edit: I saw the entire first season now and I'm sure that it shows a lot more violence.
  14. They look pretty good, imo. Except for the helm.
  15. Since when does Grum (Port Sarim) try to sell Bracelets in F2P?
  16. For the ones still hoping Bandos Rune armour will become F2P and prices of those would rise: There's still hope. With the last big TT-update, it took several weeks/months before certain items were made F2P (Gold-trimmed Wizard, Dhide). Don't get your hopes up too much though ;)
  17. Ability to make Dragon armour (g)? That's awesome! But does this work on regular rune aswell to make it rune (g)? And does it work on... Barrows/GWD armour? :anxious: (EDIT: Sadly not... yet ;) ) It would have been better if bankspaces were: 5 for e-mail ; 5 for bank-pin ; 5 for recovery questions and 5 just for being member. It would have covered security more.
  18. Heraldic Black, Adamant and Rune are F2P, in case it hasn't been said yet. Hurray for easy extra bankspace, though many trust their Runescape account/Jagex over my e-mail (provider), sometimes with reasons to :P There seem to be some awesome new treasure trails! Too bad there aren't any wings, I read about them on the RSOF and they sounded rather cool. No 3rd age version of a Fury amulet, though :(
  19. Only time will tell why they removed it again. Ability to get 10 extra bank spaces... Would be fun if you get it if you've set a bank pin, e-mail or such. It makes your account safer and you get an awesome reward for it :)
  20. I bet Smelly works at Jagex or something. Hidden Dungeons are awesome (but not that 'hidden'). Maple Trees are F2P after all these years :o In general: This looks amazing!
  21. Wow, it sure looks like an awesome month! Dungeoneering update sounds awesome! I hope we'll be able to use the upgraded rings in regular Runescape aswell. Treasure Trails sounds awesome aswell! Masks might drop, but I don't care, I just hope the entire rare market crashes, that would be awesome :) 150+ new rewards sounds very nice! Sadly, I'm sure there'll be a lot of junk in it. A TT-exclusive every time is awesome! But now when it's one sweet, a firelighter or something worth 5gp. But for now, I'll wait and hope for the best.
  22. I've bought Pokémon Platinum (used), and there are some fun pokémon on there, so I didn't just want to reset. Now, to transfer them to SoulSilver: - I need a second DS (which I don't have) - I can go wireless and transfer them one by one. I guess chances are pretty slim someone else will take it? (I hope) - I trade with another person wireless, which is a lot faster and safer, I guess (but I need to find someone first). Are there any other options?
  23. If that's true, why don't they say the reason from the start? So far, I haven't seen a good reason, to be honest. I can only hope they did it because of a future awesome update which will blow us all away. Or perhaps a lesser update which would atleast make sense. I know Jagex is very cautious about revealing future information: It's a large gaming company and there are an incredible amount of projects being worked on at the same time. I'm sure it's hard for some to get a deadline or make the deadline, a lot can go wrong. But if this was indeed part of a larger update, why didn't they wait a while? It's not like it was an urgent update. To say Jagex fails a lot, that isn't really true, they've had many great updates: Barrows (no matter how outdated, it's still a nice update), Thzaar, Skill Capes, some awesome quests (even though some are outdated, like Legend's Quest, still, it's awesome), Construction (other skills are good aswell, but Construction brought a lot of extras in the game which were very useful for the average scaping imo), Living Caverns, ...
  24. When looking at Runescape in general, they've made a fairly good game. They've made a lot of controversial changes to the game, which I didn't mind: Trade limits, PvP-'ruining', activity in GoP. Not the most fun updates, but I didn't mind. They've made faults (or there were bugs in the game) which were forgiven: 06/06/06 (aka Falador Massacre). Recently, they've made some changes I don't agree with it all: Rock Climbing Boots. If they gave a good reason, I'd understand. Just... There's no good reason! It makes no sense, as someone said, it looks extremely fishy. If the screenshots are right, they lie: No one has over 1.8k of those boots? Wrong! So either they lie or they didn't investigate well enough (which shows poor dedication). I understand they are a company, they need to make money, obviously. The free week is a smart move, but I can't help feeling they try to earn money by 'abusing' the ignorance of 13-year olds. The fact that they are 20-30 year olds and not 40+ makes it even weirder for me. They are supposed to know about gaming. I can understand how 40-50+ understands less, but 20-30 grew up with it, didn't they? In general, I respect the game, yet, there latest update was just too weird and the first time I've been displeased in a long time with an update.
