Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
Extremely well written. It sums up what many want really well. And people saying it has no long-term effect: Most likely true, but pretty much every update has no long-term effect. There's a lot of inflation from time to time in Runescape, and Jagex shouldn't help with that. Even if it is relatively short-term.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
Kind of like when they brought in pure rune essence, which sold for much higher prices than rune essence had in the recent past? No, this is not true. The price of Rune Essence (now Pure Essence) rose, but there wasn't any new money in the economy. The total amount of money stayed the same, you just had to pay more you your cashpile, meaning money was spreading faster, but there wasn't new money. With this 'update', there are billions that come flooding in te economy at the same time: New money. This might cause massive inflation. The Pure Essence update can't be compared to this at all imo. Unlike many other GE-price changes, this brings new money in the economy because of the higher alch/sell price. It can be compared to the PvP-drop table change, which also caused more money to come and increased prices of whips and such. This will cause an inflation in the long run. Just look at the discontinued part of the forum. That place has always been pathetic imo, but now it's worse than pathetic. It should be put to sleep. That market is completely fudged up. Other prices will rise: Rare armour, food, supplies for 99-skills. In the past, there were unlimited shop supplies which could take a lot of money out of the economy. Not anymore! I really hope Jagex will put rares and supplies in the GE to drain a lot of money, but that'll sadly never happen.

Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
It's confirmed. Jagex hires people [not-so-clever people] to get a bonus from the gouvernment (atleast, you get such a bonus in Belgium, so I assume in the UK aswell). This is the result. Perhaps boots were bought for 50k: But only 10 per day, not at all this many! Even if you sold boots for 50k, this wouldn't put any extra money in the GE. At best, thy should have just raised the price in the GE, like they did witch ashes once (no idea why it dropped again). There are barely any words for this. Awesome quote!

Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
10 boots is still 450k which is still an aweful lot seeing how many players have 10+ boots of them. He should go work for BP aswell. Jagex has good updates and such, but I wonder if they ever think "What might this do to the economy?".

Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
Some said Mod Mark claimed there aren't many boots out there (well, not anymore perhaps). If that's true, he should work for BP instead of Jagex. Another way to fix this is them dumping lots of rares, armour, resources, ... in the GE. But like they'll do that.

Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
Climbing boots at 45k each? Good job Jagex at ruined the economy even more. Rares market is even more pathetic now (just read that board).

Quiet Before the Swarm 24-Jun-2010 & Free to play quest changes
"Try membership free" is now on top of the screen instead of "update now" or whatever is was.

Revising and Reviving
I agree with this. It's too late to make the current drops something rare. Possibility would be a drop which has a 1/million chance, which would still give quite some drops per day (assuming several million creatures get killed every day) or a drop of which only three or something drop per day at random times.

Time for a new boss?
I'm sure not many would mind if there would be a new one released every month. Bosses never stay 'Bosses', new equipment comes out, yet bosses rarely change. They might add some nex bosses in Dungeoneering batch two in those surface dungeons. Let's hope, because the more bosses, the more choice, the more fun :)

Upcoming Combat Triangle Rebalance
I think it's pretty much impossible to completely balace the combat triangle. Some items or combo's just work better than others. Perhaps the only way to balance it is make a new way of combat (Something besides melee, ranged and magic, no idea what) which is way better in every aspect than the three just mentioned and everyone should be able to do it without much cost or previous gained levels. But, that's not going to happen. I sure hope the combat triangle isn't finished yet. That would be a waste of skills. So it's actually way too early to tell wether it's balanced or not.

Recent obsession over autoers
Ever since the trade limits, a lot of autoers have disappeared. Sure, there are still people who use a bot, but it's a minorty, I hope. Anywhom, I haven't heard anyone say 'autoer' for over a year. I've been fishing for a while now and for the past 2-3 weeks, I can't even remember the number of times I've heard someone say 'So many autoers here' 'Lol, autoers' 'Reported for autoing' recently. The recent obsession with autoers is extremely annoying! Just because one doesn't reply, that means he's an autoer? Just because one doesn't move, that means he's an autoer? (Would be a pretty cheap program) I guess many of them were never around when the real autoers were around. This ends my rant.

Manga/Anime Discussion
Watching Death Note. I must say, I love it. I've only read the manga untill a certain point because I was pretty disappointed with a certain event and I've watched up to that part now. The anime follows the manga surprisingly well. It's like I saw it already before, but I'm sure I haven't. The story develops fast enough not to get bored. Really, I like it a lot! One of the very few that I've read so far that stick entirely to the manga (or atleast a lot). Has anyone seen the movie? Is it good? Also, I can't wait for the Gundam 00 movie this September!

Does anyone actually LIKE every minute of getting a 99?
I'm currently working my way towards 99 Fishing. Hopefully, I'll get there eventually. I used to play Runescape, just to meet certain goals. Yes, there were days I played 14 hours a day. Luckely, those days are over. Did I enjoy playing Runescape then? I sure did. But I like it a lot more now. Now, I just play whenever I want and I train whatever I want. Sure, there are goals, but I'm not fixed on getting them within an extremely low timeframe. It doesn't matter what I train really, because, whatever you do, it's just clicking those same two keys over and over again. I wonder how many people actually realize that: Whatever you do in Runescape, you're just clicking two keys. So, I only do what I like, and right now, it's Fishing. This is while watching movies or series. My sister has 99 Firemaking. She enjoyed it a lot. Still does. But I must say, she really burned a lot the last few days before she got 99. I guess it's worth it, to feel the satisfaction of getting a 99? Which would mean the minutes before getting the 99 aren't the most enjoyable, but the minutes after the 99 are.

Less tolerance for the obnoxious
I've just removed some posts regarding the example given in the OP. Please solve your problems in private and not here. Also, reporting a post and requesting to ban someone isn't going to work. Moderators are only human. Everyone has personal feelings. Everyone moderates according to their own feelings. There are many guidelines and they are being followed. I can assure you, there are many discussions regarding certain subjects aswell to get as many opinions as possible. But you can't expect that every post you find offensive will disappear. You'd be surprised how many reports come in that are just being made because they don't like the poster and are offended extremely easy like that. It happens too often, sadly. With a forum as big as this, we can never please everyone. What one thinks is offensive, another thinks is funny. Should we just remove it because some people think it's offensive? If the answer's 'yes', we can just close the forum because everyone can be offended by any post, no matter what is posted. We can go communism on everyone. We can play George Orwell's '1984' and control everything said on the forum to assure absolute safety for everyone. But the forums won't be a fun place. Even this entire post would be removed. Moderators are doing a pretty good job. There are many different moderators and many different views on things. Meaning there aren't many users that slip trough the mazes of the net. But yes, sometimes, it does happen. No one's perfect afterall. And there isn't anyone with the name 'no one'.

Summer Goals & Achievements 2010
No, not really. Perhaps even less time. I might try getting 99 Fishing. But there's no rush.

Runescape Reboot
It might be pretty interesting. For starters, extremely expensive rares won't exist. People won't be able to spend a lot of money on a Partyhat to look good. Instead, that money will go to leveling certain skills, having a nice PoH, better armour, ... in the long run. Because of this, I think that if this new server would be at a 'maturity'-level like the current one, the price of resources will be higher, because more people buy them to get 99s (what else is there to spand money on?); the same would apply for armour. This server would obviously develop a lot faster than the current one did: A lot more's available and players already know how to play the game. Not everything's new. I can't imagine prices being outragious like a million for a R2H. Back in the beginning (RSC), the only way to obtain a R2H was to smith one. Now, plenty of monsters drop one, there's treasure trails, there's still the mindset of the current Runescape: no one would pay a million for a R2H now and, finally, why would you buy a R2H for such a price when you can buy a Dragon Longsword for 100K in a shop? Generally, I think the prices of almost everything will be higher. Many players wouldn't want to give up on their current character and just start over for real. This and if it wouldn't be available for F2P means that there would be far less people playing the new server compared to the current one, meaning there would be a lot less resources, thus prices being higher, even if there are less people wanting to buy these commodities. I don't think that having two or more seperate servers would be a good idea, though. This would mean having different economies and many players (a minimum, but even 0.1% on this many players is a lot) will always search for the best economy to play on. The economy of Runescape is already pretty weird and changes a lot imo, given (lame) merchanters, announcements for future updates, events (exp. weekends), ... Runescape's economy might change even more.

Dragon Kite anyone?
It'll be released eventually. And just like almost any other recent Dragon item, it'll be too late. Far better armour shields have been released already: I'm sure Dragonfire Shield will outclass it; The Falador Shield will have a better prayer bonus and certain Spirit Shield most likely won't be outclassed for a long time. But it will finish the last part of the 'improved' Dragon Equipment, and I've heared that a full dragon set will give an effect like Barrows does. So all you can do is hope the effect will actually be worth obtaining the shield, or any other Dragon pieces.

Pokemon Thread
Reminder that Winner's Path will be gone after the 25th. No idea what will be next, most likely another route, but I hope not. I like IV breeding now. No RNG abuse. Trying to get an Adamant Pressure Aerodactyl with perfect IVs in HP, Attack and Speed. So far, I have one without perfect HP and one without Adamant. If it takes much longer, I'll just go for the first one. It's quite a hassle when female Aerodactyl are rare.

Which Money Sinks Would Help Runescape Economy?
Not too sure... If not many people would participate one time, people won't be bothered to buy tickets because of the low reward, causing an even lower reward and even less people buying tickets, ... So it'd have to stay popular to work. And one person could cause an inflation if he or she was extremely rich, I think. They need to hit it where perhaps most of the cash is: F2P. It's the main supplyer or most resources, I think, yet, doesn't have that much to spend it on. Items like Gravite are a good start.

Thanks for all the replies :) 85 Mining after 99 Fishing. It's not like I'll use 85 mining for Runite anyways. I can always use Dwarven Stouts. And you can earn money with almost any skill, just needs patience.
