  1. If you read the post you'd realize clan chat is gonna be there. The in-game content will be gone, but you should expect more technical things to exist. Full screen, probably some high def option, clan chat, updated log out timer will all happen. Deposit X and Make X features might be implemented at some point. Lastly, most quests in incredibly vague. From what I recall there were a decent amount of quests back then. Also, should this be popular enough, I fully expect some sequel quests to be implemented.
  2. Guys, forget the ****ing graph, it doesn't show useful information. It shows that just before 2008 there was about 1200k members and in early 2012 there was about 800k members, with a slight rise like a month later.
  3. Rests on the assumption that every vote received will translate into a subscription. [hide][/hide] Well every vote received SHOULD (in a perfect world where people don't vote without really thinking their feelings through) result in a subscription since the whole point of the vote is to register interest. Eh sorta. In theory every person who votes before the 250k mark should be willing to pay an increased $15 membership and every person who votes from 250k-500k should be willing to pay $5 a month more. Realistically, I see a lot of people voting under the assumption or hoping it gets to the 500k line. I also imagine quite a few of those people already being current members.
  4. @ GreenXen - I hope all your plans are DIY plans. With everyone starting at lvl 3 there will be very little economy to begin with.
  5. Or that such a venture would bring in new members. Imo, it's guaranteed to bring in new members. (This is assuming that people returning to RS and buying memberships counts as new members.) Question is how many and how profitable it would be. Angrie Aussie said it way better then me tho.
  6. That's just income and assumes everyone who votes follows through. Also assuming that the 2007 RS is entirely made up of new members. [spoiler=EDIT: Sniped] Rests on the assumption that every vote received will translate into a subscription. [hide][/hide]
  7. Voting for something in ignorance is worse. This vote is a show of interest. Nobody is voting against it, they're saying they're not interested. This. I'm not voting because I don't find a 2007 version of runescape interesting. If I voted then it would just be an invalid vote. Imagine this scenario. 500k people voted yes, yet only 250k end up playing it. Jagex would be forced to set up the servers for free, no extra revenue other than the membership new players who currently aren't member set up. That's an extra $5 loss per player just because people threw in invalid votes. I totally posted that like 3 pages ago lol.
  8. Why should I vote if I am not going to play the 2007 version of the game? That is just giving false information to Jagex. They will eventually close the servers because it costs too much to run them with so few people playing on them. To support the overall community in getting some fun back out of RuneScape. Which has the potential to increase a better development fund for live RS. If population dies down, so does the development fund for 07.. If anything you only gain. AS long as they are smart about it. Know how they're being smart about it? Using these tiers. Unless 500k or more people are willing to play the 2007 version of the game, they need to charge extra for it. Know what happens if over 500k people commit to play and only 250k are actually willing to play? It means that they are providing a free service to people which needs to be a paid service to be financially viable. Guys. This isn't a poll on whether or not they should bring back the 2007 game. This is a petition for gauging who would actually be interested in playing the 2007 game. There is a very distinct difference.
  9. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from a business standpoint isn't the only relevant issue is whether or not there exists a decent demand for the product?
  10. Personally, I think this vote is a really cool idea. I've seen my share of people who want that old RS back. Now, will I vote for it? Nope. I could maybe see myself playing it if it reaches the 750k mark tho. Or voting if it gets close to there. I can't see myself being too invested since I'd have to make a new character. EDIT: I think petition is a better term for this.
  11. Dear God, I just went through a self development course, and that was one of the major themes. Probably the biggest theme.
  12. Eh. Forget when the convert to coin option happened, but it means worse case scenario you get a few k out of it.
  13. Nah. I figure, just accept the fact that certain bosses are made for low level characters.
  14. I figure they'll move their stats to tier 75. I think Jagex is trying to keep Nex as really good armour, and just doing a terrible job of it. Knowing Jagex, they'll be tier 75 items in a couple months.
  15. Nope. Sorry. I will post pictures of my lego here once built, AND YOU WILL LIKE IT
  16. Eh. It often got in the way of my work >_> Those pictures sound cool. All I'm building are sets. Bloody awesome sets, but sets none the less. Custom designs are much more impressive. (I'm assuming lots of what he built are custom designs as opposed to sets.)
  17. Eh. I work at the Lego store, so it's kind of hard to avoid lol.
  18. I also impulse bought the last Imperial Shuttle we had, because it was a return and the actual set has been discontinued for a while. Also plan to get the B Wing and R2D2 soon. Note that all these sets have over a thousand pieces. In fact, I think the B Wing is the only one under 2k.
