It's Super Effective!
I thought it was "The Life Channel." Which technically, any of the bullshit they film is life. Also, now I'm thinking of the south park episode of fat cartman in a fat scooter thing fighting honey boo boo, when suddenly the "bar" gets raised and everyone realizes that "wtf is wrong with us for watching this" and then Obama's wife starts fighting obesity by beating up Cartman. Man that's [bleep]ed up when I type it out. The worse part is that TLC is generally worse.

2013: What's Coming and What's Going
Surely better than the old combat system? The facts disagree. I went out to check out the popularity of various combat minigames. All are dead. album with pics -> http://imgur.com/a/0fP8Q Pest Control died too. The way I see it, the EoC is still in the beta phase. Conceptually, EoC combat is far superior to the previous "click and eat" combat style. RS combat needs to be more interactive. However, the EoC is still far from being finished. It got released due to a combination of working on the beta and regular RS being too much, along with the fact that the beta worlds were becoming extremely dead and no one was actually playing on them and giving feedback.

Defeating TokHaar-Hok (Brink of Extinction)
Given the recent combat update, and how it buffed so many monsters, your best bet might just be ranting in the appropriate place on the RSOF about how this boss is too strong. Plenty of monsters became overpowered from the update on the 14th, and only some of them got fixed on the update on the 18th - none of which were quest monsters. Also, Jagex mentioned a review of quest bosses was in the cards. Honestly, I gave up on the quest given that I can't even reach the final boss...

Devnull (p.s.: Yeah, you'll actually have to watch the animation to see where the troll face is used. I can't place you directly on the spot.) P.S. Play Golden Sun. This is what I did to you: This is what I'm doing to BTMF

Ancient vs POP armour
I don't have Nex gear, but I would assume so. Full Nex gear includes the gloves and boots. Rather, I don't see why boots/gloves would be excluded.

I gave up on combat.
This is something Jagex agreed with I think " Change to the Defensive Value of Armour At the moment, the difference between, say, level 70 and level 80 gear isn’t great enough to matter for standard combat training and boss hunting. Understandably, this means that people aren’t investing in the best gear available to them. We are changing that." Full article: http://services.rune...nges-to-the-eoc People use level 70 gear because Nex gear is ten times the [bleep]ing price. Actually, if you compare to barrows, probably twenty times. While RS did need to move away from the click and eat style of combat, the EoC was poorly implemented and should still be in the beta phase. Quite frankly, in many ways the EoC still IS in the beta phase.

[bleep]ing Elder Kiln Brink of Extinction. Seriously, whose idea was it to make a system that discourages hybriding, then make a combat scenario that encourages hybriding? Also, no familiars for no apparent reason. Also a tedious quest. Here's some combat! Do a puzzle. Here's some combat! Do a puzzle. Yeah a lot of quests are like that but this is just a hallway alternating between the two.

The "You're Fired" Game (Over 1K fired)
Fired from the dimir for refusing the mind wipe in order to help keep our information hidden. We still mind wiped you anyways, and made you forget entirely about the dimir. ... Except for this conversation. Er.... shit. *mind wipe*
