Choose your fate for sizzling summer!
Well. The fact that they claim they will never be available through the SoF or SoloMon's General Store is encouraging.... assuming they keep that promise (highly likely imo), don't introduce some new cash shop that SELLS useful items such as this (I can't see this happening anytime soon, but in a year or two who knows) and assuming they don't later introduce new items that don't do the exact same thing. Which, again, I can't see happening soon, but I could see it happening eventually...

With a little under 1.3m players, we should be looking at closer to like, 6m-8m a month from membership fees, maybe more. Maaaaayyyyybe as low as 5m. (P2P only highscore makes this easy, but you have to account for membership trials, especially membership trial bots.)

He had a smoke grenade. Those are illegal to own by civilians. Did the law stop him from obtaining and consequently using one? Furthermore, I can buy just about any weapon I want online, and have it shipped to me discretely (e.g., in parts) without being able to be traced at all. How does making guns illegal stop me from doing this? Oh wait, it doesn't. My morals and sanity prevent me (after all, I do not like guns personally). I would also like to point out that drugs are illegal, yet look how easily obtainable they are... Guns would be no different if they were suddenly banned in the United States. THANK YOU. Trying to make and enforce effective gun control in the U.S. would cause a huge political shit storm, and ultimately would not be effective because people could still get a hold of guns. You'd want a time machine in order to implement effective gun control laws. As for what being shot in a bullet proof vest would do to you - that really depends on the person and how much adrenaline they have. A strong, well built person with a large amount of adrenaline running through them should easily be able to shrug off having their bulletproof vest get shot. Also, I loved reading about the theatre asking people who have guns to leave. If an employee at the theatre of the shooting politely asked the gunman to leave because said employee noticed the gunman had a gun, that employee probably would have been shot.

Geilinor Games - 24/7/2012
www.runetrack.com I love how uninformed users jump to conclusions and make themselves look stupid. Gf. What conclusions, exactly, did I jump to? I find it weird that people know this, since the desire to keep track of your skillranks is something that I can't really relate to.

Nice! With the angle of your camera, and that tree, and that bone on top of the tree, it looked for a second like you were holding a giant scythe lol

Jagex always have been. It's a nice bit of consistency from Insight Venture Partners during a time when they're breaking every other tradition and stance... :twss: They really, really are. I made a post, I forget where, explaining how they could've handled these last 6 months better. Effigy nerf happens with Runespan update, so it doesn't imply that effigies were nerfed for SoF. Announce similar update planned for agility*. Also, when SoF came out, announce the combat update and the upcoming beta then. Release a diary or whatever they're called about it, some basic ideas, a little art. Tell them we'll hear more in a month or two (again, can't exactly remember timeline) when the beta is close to coming out. OOoooo, and they could've mentioned the whole "1 year member thing" OR if you buy a years subscription in the next month or so. *Doesn't matter how far in the planning process it is. Even one meeting about it would allow them to say this truthfully. And if they lie, how would we know?

Of course, not blaming you. Just saying it's a stupid rule. Then people are being stupid. I don't immediately assume just because someone has fists that they're going to punch me, same goes for a gun. If people had rational reactions to this sort of thing, the media wouldn't report killings like this in a way that encourages future killings. Although humans are capable of rational thought and logic, it's not the default thought process used by a large portion of the human race a lot of the time. Possibly the majority of the human race.

Rules like this are asinine. If you confront someone who has a gun for malicious purposes, he's just going to shoot you and continue with what he was doing. But by preventing people who own guns legally for protection from carrying them in, you're removing a deterrent or protective force from the premises. Exactly the same goes for those "no guns within x distance of a school" rules. Someone who wants to shoot up a school is not going to heed the rule, and anyone who might otherwise have a gun who could stop the shooter is going to obey that rule. You're right that it doesn't help with shootings like this at all. It's only useful for limiting the damage that someone might do if a conflict/argument escalates, not if he planned to do anything with the weapon beforehand. The best way is still not to give guns into private people's hands at all imo, the problem is just that in a country like the USA, where weapons are so prevalent, it's going to take a while until enough firearms are actually secured for this law to work properly. Of course. But those are pretty rare imo... And yeah, complete gun control is the only solution, but I can't see it ever being feasible in north america. Gun control wouldn't work because there's still illegal ways to get guns. :wall:

The explanation that makes the most sense to me is they did this to prevent people hating on IVP on RSOF appearing in Google searches.
